Family Trip -The Island

Remus sat on the beach, contemplating apparating away to check in on Nari & Ember when he noticed one of the new Audio Rhetoric females walking his way over the top of his book. He quickly lowered his eyes to the page, attempting to be engrossed in it.

Not that it did any good. His new 'sister' flopped on the ground beside him, twirling her paintbrush between her fingers. "So... Bookworm... what'cha reading?"

"Nothing that would interest you." He responded, oddly cold. "Just the latest thing Myranda was able to conjure for me on magic theory."

The artist gave him an odd look, sizing him up with her gaze. "That's where you're wrong, Bookworm. I am interested." She grinned & winked at him, seeming to have learned much about him already just from looking Remus over. It unnerved the scholarly kitsu. "You see, I am a mage, just like everyone in the village where I was born. Only my magic I prefer to focus through my brush."

Startled & a little embarrassed at his rash judgment of the girl, Remus set his book aside & actually looked at her. She had a cute beret with a yellow feather on her head and her adventuresome clothes were a fun mix of French & Arabic styles. "My apologies. I didn't think... Relm, is it?"

Relm waved her hand, signifying it was water under the bridge. "Relm Arrowny, if you want to be precise. Chroma tells me we both have fun memories from before." She grinned again at the kitsu, who this time found it quite infectious.

"You too?" Remus was feeling very foolish now. All at once he remembered Nari's encouragement to enjoy his family & it eased his longing to see his friends that were somehow more than friends. At least enough that he could converse with Relm. "Not from my world though, like the Weasleys?" He did not recall any wizards calling themselves mages in the Wizarding world.

"Yes, in a way. My world is more similar to those of the talaye pups-in-a-basket & my sister Rikku's world than yours, though ours are still different.

She looked at him sideways, as if peeling back layers. "I didn't come here to bug you about that."

"Oh?" Remus was intrigued now. His own fretting about his previous life's memories had dimmed so he did not mind the subject shift. "What is on your mind then?"

"Aiden." She said simply. Remus looked at her, confused. "Oh! Don't look at me like that! It's nothing dirty." Remus flustered, having thought nothing of the sort until Relm mentioned it. He was starting to feel as if he was the more innocent-minded of the two of them somehow & wondered what she might know. "He's one of the oldest ones here -'cept for Trel & Locke & the baby- but he's not found a mate yet." her glance grew sly. "AearHwesta says you've got two.

The shy kitsu blushed a brilliant red his chocolate fur could not conceal. "I would not call them mates..."

"But they would want to be?" Again that knowing grin.

"I... ah... I... I suppose so." It sounded so lame.

"Oh, don't worry. The other kitsu told me all about your Asian angel & emo hottie." Relm winked at him, appearing to enjoy making him squirm under her gaze. Remus could only stare gaping. He had not considered that he would be topic for discussion."Chroma's a naive dear but she's not unintelligent & she sees everything whether she gets it or not." Her brush wavered before Remus' face & the artist cocked her head. "It's almost a shame you're such a strait shooter. You've a fun situation, for someone of a different persuasion."

"Like you, I suppose." He grumbled darkly, not even caring how he sounded. Her laughter danced over him.

"Not hardly. I just appreciate that others are. Or might be. I've not been an adult long, in some ways, I'm still a child. Though it's a shame your Ember's of the wrong species, gender, & persuasion. I think I'd like someone difficult like that."

"You would want someone difficult?" The shock caused him to forget both his grumpiness & overlook the slight to his dear friend's character.

She grinned again, seeming very much like a mature child. "It would add to the fun." She winked again, just confusing Remus all the more.

"You let me digress again!" Relm accused cheerfully, mockingly threatening her elder with her paintbrush. Which it might have been had Remus understood her powers. "I need help getting Aiden attached."

"You want to get Aiden attached?" Remus repeated, not following.

"I already told you it's nothing dirty. He needs a lady. He's such a gentleman. Of all the family, you two are the closest in personality. "

The Return-Day Page 2415

Chroma came bounding into HQ. She looked tired, but severely excited at the same time. "India! In-dia!" She called out happily. "You won't you won't believe where I've been!"

India's eyes opened reluctantly, taking in the sight of the upside down HQ. Mumbling, he flopped onto his side, blinking at the familiar bright yellow. "Won't believe it, huh?" he called out to her, too lazy to actually get up just yet. "Well, let's hear it, then." There were few things the male would admit that surprised him. Naturally, he was skeptical of her claim.

The primary hued bundle of energy plowed into her mate with less than her usual force, but no-less exuberance. Licking his face happily she rolled into his side, snuggling herself between his paws & wrapping her own forepaws lightly around his neck. Sky-blue eyes twinkled at India merrily. "Were you awake enough when I told you I had to leave for that big family event?" She did not wait for a reply, but nipped his ear playfully. "Well we went to an empty island! Only it wasn't empty! Or maybe it was & there was lots o' magic there! But we got to play around & there was always food & those of us 'telligent types didn't need translators." Her smile turned confused for a minute. "Trel's baby still made little sense, but then he stayed with his new Jivvin bond." Matter gone from her mind Chroma grinned again. "Speaking of Ambar, we've 3 other new family! An' one's a kitsu! AearHwesta is fun he flies me 'vrywhere!"

Her speech was rather fast & jumbled in her excitement & Chroma shivered trying to contain it all. She snuggled closer. "But... I missed you. Is it okay to have fun & miss you all at once?"

"Uh..." Had India been fully awake, it would've been easier for him to respond. However, in his current state, his mind raced dumbly for an answer it couldn't seem to find. He certainly didn't remember her telling him about this family trip... Must've been sleeping. Ah well, at least she had fun. Snuggling closer to her, he sighed. " I suppose it's okay to have fun and miss me at the same time." He tilted his head against her neck. "But next time you decide to fill me in on all your fun, you might wanna slow down about it." Then again, even if she did so, he doubted he'd really understand everything. Some of her family she mentioned threw him off. He had no idea who she was talking about.

She giggled into his ear. "If you weren't always asleep, maybe I wouldn't seem to be talking fast." Chroma was quite oblivious that she spoke fast, much less doubly so when excited. Not that it mattered much to her right now, as she cleaved herself to her mate & breathed in his scent happily. India's assurance that it was okay to miss him & have fun had eased her simple mind. "I'd forgotten about the trip. Seems Remy had too, 'cause Trel sent AearHwesta to fetch us." Chroma wove her tails with India's; one tail gently stroking his black one. "I wasn't too keen on some strange angelic telling me I had to leave you but he said he could fly me home. I figured that was all right, him Aear being my new big brother & all."

Chroma was trying to wriggle closer but since there was very little extra space left between them the female was only managing to rub against India gently. "Flying was fun, 'ndia! Better than running faster than fast!"

"The way I figure it, even if I had slept a good day and was hyped up on caffine, you'd still talk too fast for me." Despite the joke, his look was all but serious. He had no doubt his own words were actually true. He listened idly, wondering about this new brother, but his thoughts were interrupted as a shiver ran up his spine. His all black tail twitched at the gentle touch. India didn't doubt Chroma knew it was his most sensitive. Breathing deep to calm the tingling in his back, he grinned. "Flew you, eh? I'll have to meet this brother sometime." He gratefully accepted her attempted to move closer, nuzzling into her shoulder. Though he would be hardpressed to admit it, he really missed her, too.

"I couldn't see you on caffeine. Chocolate's better anyway." Trel had tried to explain to the kitsu that chocolate had caffeine in it, but Chroma seemed slow to grasp it. Feeling India's tail twitch she stroked it all the more playfully, grinning into his fur. She liked how he moved. "You're sure to meet Aear sometime. He's very friendly."

Being his sister, Chroma was safe from his ways. Being herself, Chroma was also naive to them. "What's it mean, 'lovers'?"

India thought about bringing up the fact that chocolate had caffeine in it, but let it drop. Instead, he merely let his grin stay as he explained his own feelings on the subject of better things. "I think bananas are better than chocolate. Better for you, too. Plus they have a natural energy booster." He nodded against her shoulder.

His eyes were almost closed as his grin drifted away, but opened quickly at her question. Pulling away slightly, he looked curiously at her. "What brought that up? Aear?" He couldn't decided how talk of Chroma's brother could lead to this question, but he went with it, anyway. "Lovers are like mates..." he said thoughtfully, gaze wandering in thought. "I suppose."

She nodded, at both of his quandaries. "Chocolate covered 'nanas are the bestest though. Next to magic jumpin' chocolate frogs. And yea... Aear was saying something about it. All weekend. Kept apologizing for taking us 'way from our lovers... an' teasin' Remy for having two."

"So being each other's makes us lovers too? I like the sound of that word." She giggled, her sleepyness catching up to her. Or perhaps it was India's presence. "Though I really like being each others'. It's ours." Her tails stroked his happily.

Chroma yawned & her tails made ringlets around India's that tightened gently. "I'm sleepy, 'ndia. I wanna play, but I'm so sleepy."

Her eyes started to droop & she murred sadly into his neck, only slightly disappointed. If she was to be sleeping, this was her favorite place for it.

"Chocolate covered...?" He mumbled, canting his head in thought. He'd never had a chocolate covered banana before, but he figured two good things could only be better together. His ponderings over food were all but interrupted as she wrapped her tails tighter around his, causing a similar effect on his solid colored appendage. Grumbling slightly, he rubbed his cheek against her shoulder.

Rather than answer, he listened on, her yawn causing him to have to choke back on of his own. Of course, he was far from against sleeping. Grinning ever so slightly, he set his head atop hers, pulling her closer in a protective manner and allowing the yawn from before to escape.

Zeada watched the blue and white male trying to make his moves on her, but she wasn't too throughly impressed. However, being the type of Kitsu she was, she decided to play along.
"Yes, you are friendly, aren't you?"
The female started to slowly waltzed around him, letting her tails flow behind her with ease.
"You're quite handsome too..."

((He's a sweetie too... I think. sweatdrop At least I hope so.

At least he's not a boff them & leave them type.... he treats them like ladies first & through & ....

With a small yawn and a sigh, Nari poked her head into the kitsu HQ. She had had a restful few days at her family's temple, but there was only so much family she could take - what with the constant bickering between her elders, Noko's attempts to smuggle ObiWan in without said elders noticing, and a more-than-usual cranky Cai. ~Pfft. I love them, but.. ~ The only reason she hadn't sought escape in the HQ was because she knew Rem wouldn't be there, and she didn't really want to confront Ember. Having no other friends, there was no reason to leave the temple.

Remus Lupin did not even bother to walk in. As soon as he felt the family had settled & had seen the Audio females drag poor Aiden away he apparated into the Headquarters. The clock showed AearHwesta was already out of the house & Chroma was at kitsu HQ. If they could leave so soon, so could he.

In a quiet, seldom used spot in the room, Remus materialized.

Ember half-dozed on the couch, not really thinking about anything. For once, he wasn't particularly worried, though that might have been because he was tired from his attempts at flying with Gypsy. He watched as Nari poked her head in, and was surprised when he didn't feel the familiar pang of jealousy. Hrrm. "Hello, Nari..!" he called, wincing at how chirpy he sounded. He really didn't dislike her, after all, he was just normally so...jealous.

Just shuffling her paws around underneath her, the purple, female Kitsusagi kept her balance by holding her wings out above her, her paws still doing their little shuffle of a dance. Coincidentally enough, a rather small fly was buzzing around, and more specifically around her legs, causing her to have the itch to try and catch it, or squish it, which ever came first.
"Hold still you little beast....", she muttered to herself.

Parisa was currently sprawled across a floor, her wings dropped to the floor. She figured that she should probably actually go out and meet some kitsu, but she didn't really feel like moving.

With an enormous amount of will, she stretched out and set out to find someone to talk to. Whomever it might be.

That sound of shuffling paws sounded mighty nice. She walked slowly towards where she heard the sound, curious as to what was happening. Was it a dance of some sort?

Pretty singing can be heard in the hallways again and Gypsy rounds the corner, trotting as she sings her song loudly, again, not really paying attention to where she is going, just wanting to roam around and sing. And if anyone wanted to listen, that would make her even happier. Her thoughts go to Ember and she smiles, glad her new friend liked her singing and he wanted to learn how to fly

"I said hold still!"
The female Kitsu suddenly nashed her teeth at the air below her, trying to desperately catch the annoying pest. By missing it by nearly an inch or so, the fly buzzed on, seemingly enjoying the distress it was causing this poor female.

Parisa blinked. Well, it definitely wasn't a dance. She stuck her head into the room to see another female that looked like she was chasing something very small. She stepped into the room, uncertain about what to say.

The female never once looked up, her head still bent down to see her legs. The fly was buzzing around her faster now, making her paws shuffle to the beat of a new drum. Her body swayed slightly, her wings flapping here and there to keep her steady, teeth nashing back out every once and awhile.

Parisa looked at this new angelic oddly. She stepped forward, and tried to stay out of the- what seemed- deadly dance.
"Are you alright?" she asked softly.

With the concentration now broken, the female looked up, the fly taking this chance to show her who was boss. As her paws kept aiming for the fly, it began to swoop in and out of underneath her, making her legs criss-cross and stumble, her body going down with them. Falling right onto her stomach, her wings trying to flap to keep her up, the purple female finally fell down onto the ground, the little fly buzzing away, quite happy.
"Little beast......", she muttered grumpily.

Parisa gasped slightly, and approached the other kitsu.
"I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" she asked, being hit with a sudden case of deja-vu.

"Yea... Fine... Just in a tad bit of pain.. But I don't mind it."
Just lying there, the female cocked her head to the side, looking up at the female that had made her break her concentration. That's when it hit her...

Remus' head turned abruptly hearing a familiar & adored voice speaking the name of the other he adored in a cheerful way. He was both confused & excited but explanations could wait. Spotting his dear friends he trotted over. "Ember! Nari!" I've missed you!"

Coming up from behind, Remus touched his chin to Ember's head & smiled with bright eyes over to Nari who was still a few paces away near the door.

Parisa blinked. It was almost like looking at a clone. Except that they weren't. But the resemblance was uncanny.
"Odd," she murmured, tilting her head slightly.

Considering that the other female didn't get up, she flopped herself down on the floor again, letting her wings drop to the floor.

"So... You are..?", asked the female, trying to get rid of the thought they could be long lost sisters or something. After all, just having herself to worry and deal with was a problem in itself. Plus, she figured that this female and herself were two totally different Kitsues, meaning they could never be the same, regardless of their uncanny resemblance.

Parisa looked at the other kitsu.
"Parisa." She continued to study the other kitsu.
"This is... odd," she repeated.

Ember's heart leaped as he heard his name called in a voice he'd wanted most to hear for the past...well, forever, it seemed. The feeling was akin to how he felt when he was 'half-flying' with Gypsy, but better. "R-Remus!" he squeaked, ducking out from under the other's chin and turning to beam at the other. "You're back! I missed you! Where'd you go?" he chattered, savoring the sight of his friend. Though he'd worried that Remus had left because of him, he shoved such thoughts down now. He was in too good a mood to let it be ruined by such gloom. And speaking of being in a good mood...he guiltily turned his eyes back to Nari, waiting for her to return his greeting. After all, he had greeted her first, and it was rude not to wait for her response before moving on to other things....unless she was ignoring him, anyway.

"Odd, yes... Weird, no. It can happen I suppose, but to meet one whom looks like me a lot of ways, except for your bright fur, this early in my dwelling is rather... Peculiar... I must admit."

"I missed you too. I'm sorry I had to leave in such a hurry, Ember. In all the... confusion... I had forgotten all about my family's trip. Our new brother AearHwesta had to come & remind both Chroma & I."

There was a slight grimace to the way Remus spoke the other kitsu's name. As if there was something uncomfortable that was tied to it. "We visited a small magical island. It was nice to bond with the family. Especially since it grew so fast recently."

"Have you been well, Soul's Brother?"

Parisa nodded slightly. The floor always seemed so comfortable, she wasn't sure why, but it was.
"Who are you?" she asked, wincing at her failed attempt to be polite.

Rolling over now to look up, wincing in slight pain as her left wing rolled over a small bleeding gash in one of her feathers, the female stared above her, pink eyes wandering aimlessly.
"The name is Zeada... And that's with an 'E' before the first 'A'. It's an interesting pleasure to meet you Parisa."

Autumn_Fury

Ember smiled at the nickname, nodding enthusiastically. "I have been well, but for missing you and Rhian." he gushed, grinning happily. "I made a new friend, named Gypsy, and oh Remus, she's part bird! She has wings like Nari, and can fly! She thinks that maybe if she teaches me to fly, I'll grow wings too." He paused, realizing for the first time just how unlikely that was. But then, he thought defensively, he didn't know how some kitsu had wings and others didn't. Maybe it could work.

"I also met another winged kitsu who had what looked kind of like a doughnut above his head...I only talked to him for a little while, and I d-don't remember his name..." he trailed off, trying hard to remember, but then shook his head. He'd remember later.

Parisa yawned, but the wince didn't go by her.
"You got hurt?" she asked. She was about to do something about it. Until she fell asleep like a rock.
"pllleeasssuuurrre," she dragged off.

The female whom was known as Zeada watched the other female suddenly drift off. She may not have liked this other female very much, nor like her coloration, but in a small part of her, she thought it was quite funny the way she just seemingly feel asleep. A smile, a very small smile, crept across her face, looking back up and closing her own eyes, on the verge of drifting off to sleep.

Gypsys passes by the door, again, not paying attention, her song drifting through and she doesn't see her friend right away, adding a new note to the song as she continues to trot, wings flapping and tails swinging

Remus was startled at the change in his friend, but pleasantly so. It was nice to hear Ember so happy & it made him all warm inside. The name of the bird-kitsu caused him to ponder at the fringes of a memory. "Gypsy? A red kitsu? With blue & gold on the wings & white around the muzzle? I believe she might be a friend of Chroma's. Or at least they played together when they were kits & teens. She flew you?" He pursed his mouth slightly. "She must be an adult now. I've not seen her since she was a teen. I remember her being a sweet thing... & very fun too." He did not want to add that it was unlikely Ember would grow wings. The night was just too happy.

"Like Nari, but with a doughnut?" The quizzical look in his eye turned to laughter as Remus pieced it together. "oh! A Halo!" His smile was warm, though his ear twitched thinking of his new angelic 'brother'. "Must be a true angelic kitsu."

She blinked, startled at the warmth in Ember's greeting. Taken aback, she stepped back a step. "Hello, Ember.." Then, as she took in Remus, she bounded into the room and over to the pair of them. "Welcome back, Remus.."

Ember nodded as Remus described his new friend, opening his mouth to comment when he heard a sound that was slowly becoming familiar- Gypsy's singing. His eyes swung to the door, and he spotted her, though she passed the door by. Hmm. Well, maybe later she'd come and join him, for he couldn't even think of dragging himself away from his other friends right now- friends, plural, for now Nari came trotting up to them.

"An angelic..." he repeated, frowning in thought. Now that Remus had called it a halo, that made sense, and Ember ducked his head with a sheepish smile at having called it a doughnut, and moreso at Remus laughing at him. He wanted to ask Remus about wings and such, but now that Nari was there, he hesitated. As much as he liked her, he'd feel stupid asking in front of her.

Worried that it was something he had done that caused Nari to step back, Remus' face fell momentarily & he nuzzled Ember to hide his dissappointment. At least until he saw her bound towards them & felt himself glow within. "It is good to be back."

"I heeded you, & enjoyed my family. Though AearHwesta will still take some time."

Curled up beside India, Chroma heard a familiar but slightly different voice singing just out of range for her tired ears. Slowly she stirred, her curiosity piqued.

Winging into the room, AearHwesta spotted Remus & company & decided to drop in on them before scoping out the ladies. "Why hello there. Ember, right? Nice to see you awake lad! Rem wears you out, does he?" The angelic winked broadly, sweeping his gaze to Nari. "And the lovely Nari." He bowed with a flourish. "You ever tire of my dear brother, have a thought for me, won't you."

"AearHwesta..." Remus nearly growled warningly. The blue & white angelic was unfazed. He even laughed. "Haha! Remy-lad! You're like a stallion with his mares. Don't worry. I don't go after claimed ladies. Even if they are the ones acknowledging the claim."

Nari wagged her tails happily and rubbed her nose under Remus's chin. "I missed you, too. And I got to spend time with my family.. Not always such a good thing."

Gypsy skids to a stop suddenly goes backwards. She stops at the entrance to the living area and she perks up suddenly.

"Ember!!"

Ember purred happily as Remus nuzzled him, then blinked in surprise as another wing-ed being swooped down to them. He cowered away a little, his regular anxieties at meeting others making an appearance, and then blushed, trying to make himself as small as possible at his words, which were just a little too suggestive. "I-I.......he,thatis,Iuhm..." he stuttered, barely even hearing the angelic's comments about Nari, "N-nice....t-to meet you too...?" he finally mumbled, deciding there was nothing he could say about the earlier comments about him and what they implied. He was saved from making any other smalltalk, however, when his name was called and Gypsy came in. "Hiya, Gyp!" he called, nodding to her as a smile returned to his face.

Laughing, AearHwesta clomped the emo-kitsu on the shoulder. " 'Nice to meet you too!' " He roared with amusement. He eyed Gypsy appreciatively as she arrived, deciding she seemed too young to chase. Or recalling Chroma talking about that specific flyer. "Gyp, lovey, I am AearHwesta. I pray you won't forget it." He introduced himself gallantly but brotherly. Then addressing them all "Don't fret, lads, ladies. I won't be hassling you more tonight. I've other things on my mind."
With a wink and a flap of his wings he took off, humming "I'm in the mood for love" under his breath.

Sighing with relief that he was gone, Remus gave an apologetic smile. "I could not agree with you more, Nari. Time with family is not always a good thing."

Chroma opened one eye to follow the familiar red fur & feathers. She wanted to go run to her playmate, but she liked seeing Ember happy 'cause it made Remus happy & besides which she was simply too tired to move. So she watched through lidded eyes instead.

"Yes" Nari chuckled, rubbing her head lightly under his chin. "But sometimes, it can be a bit much." She glanced at the odd blue male, tilting her head at him before turning her attention back to Remus. "Your new sibling is.. odd"

Ember made a strangled squeaking sound as AearHwesta clomped onto his shoulder, quickly backing away to hide behind Remus. He glanced up at Gypsy, smiling weakly before turning his gaze back to Nari, Remus, and the now-departing AearHwesta. He felt weak, hiding from such a jovial kitsu, but he was just a bit....overbright, he supposed. Enough that he rather frightened Ember, anyway.

Smiling gently at Gypsy to show it was save, Remus brushed his nose against his friends. "He's a bit much, to be sure. Odd is kind, Nari. I have already learned he is devoted to our family however, & that for me speaks volumes. Though not quite enough to ignore all the rest."

"Gypsy-dear, do you remember me? I am Chroma's brother, Remus." He worried that anyone so similar to Chroma in attitude should pull back.

"I would not doubt his devotion.. and I'm sure you'll get used to his oddities in due time."

Ember agreed, the angelic was...odd, if nothing else. Odd in a bad way, if anybody asked him, which nobody had. He was Remus's 'brother', though, so he would say nothing bad of him aloud...with a yawn, Ember stopped cowering and curled up on the floor, purposefully letting his side brush against his friend's in hopes that he would follow- and that Nari would as well. Though he didn't brush up against her, he imagined she would follow if Remus did. He longed to fall asleep and wake up with his two friends once more, something that, he realized with vague amusement, he'd missed more than anything else while Remus had been away on his trip.

Remus was exhausted. Everyone in his family was, if they would only admit it. Glancing at Chroma, he knew this was true. He smiled sheepishly. "Ember had the right idea."

Playfully -almost subconsciously sugestive- Remus licked Nari's maw & beckoned her to follow him as he lay beside Ember. "I think I used the last of my energy making certian I reached you. I hope you can forgive me my poor company."

After a Stessful Weekend Page 2463

Remus apparated into the headquarters. His robe was slightly more wrinkled than normal & there was a stressed look in his eyes as they swiveled around the main room. Not seeing offhand anything he seemed to be looking for he sighed, transmogrified a few random items into large plush pillows & lay down heavily. Trel really owed him this time.

Not really... He sighed to himself, drawing his legs underneath him & laying his head over his front paws tucked into his chest. The favor she needed of me does not come close to covering all she has done for me.

What then is bothering me? He pondered for a moment. Dealing with AearHwesta while missing Nari & Ember. That was it. Remus was missing his friends so much that the once little stresses of the house aggravated him worse than sand in an oyster. Except that AearHwesta could be a big aggravation.

He sighed again, tucking his robes close.

Autumn_Fury

Ember slouched into the room, not even taking his normal scan of its inhabitants. Remus would not be there; he would not get his hopes up again. If somebody wished to talk to him, they could go to him. And if somebody wished to attack him...well, they were welcome to it, he supposed, for they would catch him unawares. Sighing heavily, he plopped down by the side of the couch, wishing for all the world that he had never written that letter to Remus, and yet at the same time knowing that it had been the right thing to do.

The sudden sound of someone flopping on a couch startled the over-extended scholar & caused him to jump. He scrambled, sending pillows flying in an attempt to spin around & see who was there. He failed miserably. As the pillows pressed out from underneath him his claws raked upon the hard floor making clicking sounds. Remus slid, finding no perchance. He legs shot out from under him & he fell with an undignified thud to the floor.

Closing his eyes Remus just lay there. This was not a good day.

Ember started at the burst of noise with a startled yelp, jumping into a defensive position and closing his eyes for impact. When none came (as none usually did) he chanced opening his eyes to find the source of his startling. His eyes bugged as he saw Remus lying there, and he hesitantly made his way over, being as quiet as he could. "R...R-Remus?" he asked cautiously, as if unsure as to if this was really his friend- and he was rather in disbelief, seeing him after hoping for (what seemed like) so long to see him.

There was no denying the hopeful yet disbelieving look in the eyes that fluttered open. "Ember? Merciful Heavens... please don't be a dream."

There was a fear too him, as if something had shaken him within.

"Remus.." It was an exhalation, a prayer, a sigh of relief. He sat beside Remus, smiling awkwardly, and then nuzzling him even more awkwardly. "I, uhm..." he mumbled, pulling a bit away and flushing slightly, "I'm pretty sure I'm n-not a dream, though sometimes I w-wonder." He made an attempt at a smile, wondering how things could grow so awkward between them in only a few days.

At the physical touch Remus calmed down almost instantly. "If you're a dream... it's a good dream."

He was obviously still troubled, judging by the wizard's use of contractions. In his state of mind, Remus had not noticed the awkwardness of Ember's touch... only that it was there. He tossed his head over Embers neck, hugging him gently. Almost as if the wizard were afraid his friend would apparate out from his grasp. His eyes closed lightly as his breathing calmed, soothing the rest of him. "I've missed you, Soul Brother."

Ember smiled, also relaxing under Remus's touch and words, and oh, how he'd missed this, missed Remus. "Y-you too, Remus." he murmured, frowning at the fact that he'd nothing to call Remus but his given name. In his mind echoed Rem-chan, Rem-chan, but that was for Nari to use, and not Ember, never Ember. He could accept this, he supposed grudgingly, leaning against his friend with a sigh. "I'm tempted to...to think that this is a dream as well." he commented softly, "I've wondered and worried over not seeing you for so long I began to wonder if you had just been a good dream."

Remus was calming, the events of the weekend able to shift into something his intellectual mind could contemplate instead of something that wracked his senses & emotions. "I'm sorry I was gone so long... we had a bit of a crisis at home."

He only winced slightly to think of it. At least now that Ember was beside him to ground him once more. Idly he wondered where Nari might be, though the presence of even one of his dearer than dear friends was plenty for the moment. "I came here as soon as I dared."

"What happened? Thatis- if...if you don't mind me asking..." Ember flustered, jerking back a bit in insecurity. He was such an idiot sometimes, he thought angrily, so insensitive in what he said and asked. "Are...are you alright..?" he questioned timidly, wondering at why the normally so reserved Remus was now hugging him...and not the other way around. Not that he minded, of course...he basked in the touch, but he did wonder at his friend's behavior.

AearHwesta sweeps in over the mountain. Spotting an unfamiliar flicker of coloring he curls with the air currents to come in closer. "Why, hel-lo beautiful. I don't believe we've met." Fluttering his wings to land he bows flamboyantly. "I'm AearHwesta, lovely creature."

AearHwesta: *frowns* I could have sworn I saw a lady kitsu... *shrugs* ah well. *spreads wings & jumps to catch a breeze & circles lazily around the mountain*

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kawa-chan." He lightly pressed a kiss onto her paw, breathing on it gently. Slowly raising he lifted his eyes first, catching hers. "May I say you are lovely, Kawa-chan?"

Aear lowered his paw with hers, giving her the option to pull her paw back but not exactly dropping it.

A flicker of disappointment crossed his face as she withdrew her paw, though he quickly recovered. The compliment did not hurt any. "Thank you." Aear replied, drawing himself up proudly. He liked to think he looked good. Then he arched one eyebrow at Kawa, curiously.

"Though if you don't mind me saying, Miss kawa-chan, you look even lovlier when you blush like that." He lowered himself gently so he could look into her eyes just outside of her personal space. He always meant his compliments. To AearHwesta, all females were beautiful creatures to be loved. It was not his fault there were so many females.

AearHwesta just smiled. "No appologies, lovely one. You're very beautiful to watch while you sleep." The angelic might be a ladies-kitsu, but he prefered his ladies awake & willing. "You are tired. Perhaps we can do something together another time?" Blowing her a kiss he furled his wings to search for a breeze. "For I regret I should probably get home for some shut-eye myself."

"oh, if you wish then, sleep is important, especialy to keep one looking healthy and beautiful" nodding she blushed agina nd looked a little sad; she wasn't sure she wanted him to leave. "l hope l can see you again sometime..."

"Oh, I don't wish to leave you, lovely creature... I just should." He caught a thermal & hovered slightly, gazing down at the female adoringly. "I'd much rather stay with you, though sleep take me." He grinned at himself for not having said that he wanted to sleep with her. If the rightous Remus could sleep innocently -as he claimed- then so could AearHwesta claim that was all he wanted. Besides, such actions often led to more.

"I will certainly look for you, lovely Kawa-chan."

kawa felt like she was gonna swoon and fall over. How come she had to act so girly? usualy she didn't act like this, but she couldn;t help it, he was just so dam...whats the word? she was to ditsy to remember

"and l will keep a look out for you too AearHwesta" she said with a very light hearted voice, her cheeks now not so red but still had a difernate twinge. Though the way he said sleep take him, it made her head wonder dangerously

India yawned and stretched, waking up from what seemed to be his first semi-good sleep in a while. Talking with Ember really had helped and while he still hadn't slept as well as usual, it was much better. Rolling to his paws, he stretched again, rising as he did so and scanning the room. Dark ears flicked idly as he took a few steps, glanced around again, took a few more steps, and finally stopped. Ah, thankfully he didn't feel much like pacing today. That was an improvement.

Chroma was full of excitement but tiring. She longed to see India and practially flew into the HQ when she saw him through the open door.

"In-dia!" She called out happily, slowing down just short of colliding with him & licking his ear. "Missed you!"

All but used to his mate's hyper greetings, India didn't even flinch when she came barreling towards him. His ear did twitch when it recieved the unexpected lick, however. Grinning slightly, he tilted his head to her, moving the 'attacked' ear away. "And I missed you," he returned, licking her nose as if to avenge his ear.

All three tails wagged happily as a thrilled shiver ran down Chroma's back.

"Have you been sleeping well without me?" She asked teasingly, knowing to ask if he had played any fun games was pointless. Wanting to catch up on her India "fix" Chroma walked down the length of him, brushing his side with hers. At the end she nipped gently & playfully at his black tail. Nothing that would be painful... just a friendly little n**.

As if it had a mind of its own, the all black tail started away from the n**. India made a move around to protect his poor, defenseless tail from his mate's horrible assult. But all the while a grin played on his lips. That is, until he thought to answer her question. "Not really..." he responded, though didn't ellaborate. He never would've linked his antsy-ness and lack of good sleep to not having Chroma around, but then again... he couldn't really rule that out either. He canted his head curiously.

Chroma pouted doubley, for her mate's lack of happy sleep & the tail sneaking away from her. Thinking on it, she decided to lick the tail instead; not quite the way she might groom it. At the last minute she decided to start grooming India anyway. "You'll sleep well tonight!" She said with authority, nodding her head. "So will I!" Turning she licked his nose & proceeded to groom India's face & ears. "I do my best sleeping with you." She added, almost shyly.

India grumbled, trying to pull away from the bath. Stubbornly, he shook his head to try to throw her off as she continued, but it didn't do much good at her words. He pratcially gaped at her, wondering how she could make him think such annoyingly perverted thoughts with her innocent words. "Thanks," he muttered, thankful more so that his dark fur was likely to hide whatever color happened to heat his cheeks. And as if to hide any possibilty that he'd been thinking that way at all, he moved in an attempt to escape once again.

As she noticed that India tried to get away Chroma's face fell. "You don't like me cleaning you?" Her blue eyes grew sad & she stepped back crestfallen. She had been sure India would like it.

"I, uh..." India's eyes wandered, as if something in their surroundings would offer an excuse. She'd done it before and it hadn't bothered him, but he was still wary of his face being cleaned, he supposed. Besides, last time he was almost asleep. It had been comforting. Sighing, he stepped up to close the space between them, lowering himself slightly to nuzzle her neck and hold her chin on his neck. "It's not that I don't like it. I'm just not too used to it." He sighed again. That was the best he could come up with?

Best or not, it was enough for his simple mate. She stopped trying to bathe India& instead snuggled against him. "Maybe later. Or tomorrow. You're pretty clean anyway." She wove her tails in his. "So do'ya wanna do something? Something else?"

Chroma yawned, her busy weekend with poor sleep catching up to her. "Something more your speed? Without running & chasing?"

"Mm. Like what?" India questioned, not really sure what there was to do that didn't invlove running, that is, beside sleeping. And it's not like his sister was here to pull a game ball out of no where like she always did. But it was at that thought that he felt his heart clench. He had to sit, head laying heavily against his mate's neck. Kitten... it'd been forever since he'd seen his closest sibling. He wondered what she was up to. Sighing, he scooted closer to Chroma's warmth, sucking up the comfort he wasn't sure she knew she was giving.

Sensing India's sudden hurt more than understanding it, Chroma joined India on the ground & curled around him protectively. Looking for what might have caused him pain & seeing nothing, Chroma turned bright blue worried eyes upon her mate. "What is it? What's wrong?"

India snuggled against his mate's protective form, sighing in a hightened sense of content. Flipping his tails out and draping the over her, as if to offer some form of protection to her as well, he sighed into her fluff. "I miss my sister, Keiki, s'all." He spoke into her fur, warming his own muzzle. "I haven't seen her in a long time..."

Yawning slightly, he curled up a bit more. "Sorry to worry you..." he said softly, eyes narrowing as he already began to drift.

Chroma was worried, but she was also very tired & her mate's sleepiness as usual was having it's usual affect on her. She lowered her head the rest of the way, deciding they could speak of Keiki in the morning. She missed her ball-playing friend too. Maybe tomorrow she could take India on a search for Keiki. Yes. That was a good idea.

But for now. Sleep.

"So what's it going to be, Trel?" Rikku asked eagerly. It had been a while since Aiden flew her through the doors & she had given him a sisterly kiss on the cheek in thanks for the ride. "Quidditch?" The Weasleys pipe up hopefully. "Not all of us have figured out how to ride brooms with our hooves, guys." Their sister Mirage points out, tossing the tails of her scarf. Rikku smiled. The audio was still fascinated that she had family that was cosplaying her & Yuna.

Just apparating in Remus agreed, adding. "Or paws."

Trelweny looked up with a smile. "Ah, Remus! You're just in time." Her eyes twinkled as if suspecting who the wizard had been with. "When Aiden & Rikku got here before you I was tempted to send AearHwesta for you." Remus blanched as his Angelic brother laughed boisterously & winked. Pausing in their talk of Quidditch the Weasley twins chuckled too. "Locke & Aiden convinced me to give you more time."

The highlander blushed red under his tartan fur but the bandit cait beamed. "Goodbyes have te be done right." Locke explained with a nod. Relm rolled her eyes. "Espers, but you're just like him!" "Thank you!" The green cait replies, rubbing against her knees. The artist smiles then. "So tell us, Mother Hen, what are we doing?"

"I've decided... to split up the genders!" There is a big smile on her face as she divulges her plan.

"What?!?" Multiple voices call out at once incredulously. Everyone starts talking at once. Translators, both flesh & mechanical having a time of it.

"Wha' de ye mean, Trel lass?" Aiden's quiet voice pierced the hullabaloo of varied sounds like a warm knife through butter. Everyone leaned in to hear; except the HouseCats.

Trelweny grinned. "I want to give each gender a day to hang out & play together, while those of the opposite gender wait on them." Hearing her family's noise begin to crescendo again the woman holds out her hands. "Now this will only work if no one gats mean about it. Myranda & Grundle have volunteered to oversee things & you know they're fair. Of course Theron & Ambar are exceptions since they can't be parted & they and the baskets are too little to be really part of things. They'll still have to be watched." Tien fluttered into Trel's face. "Ero?"

The young mother laughed. "You & Bozi may play with both groups, Tien." "Yenenin!"

"But who's first?" "We should draw straws." Fred & George interjected.

"Ladies first." Came Aiden's sure soft reply. "Indoubtably." The kitsu wizard was quick to second. Relm, Rikku & Chroma happily glomped the two proudly, & even Trinity beamed. The Weasley's sigh their agreement & Fidelity & Mirage nuzzle their brothers thankfully, knowing they have aquiessed. "Ja. It is best dat way." the mini Gunter added, getting a look of adoration from his sister Renatta.

Glad that it was so easily decided the family matriarch beamed. "Booyaka! With that settled, let's get some sleep! Girls, think of what you'd like to do together tomorrow" Hugging everyone, Trel saw that the baskets were tucked in & gathered Theron & Ambar to get them to bed. She trusted that the other pets would soon do the same. Behind her the girls exchanged bright glances while the males tried to hide their snickers.

With boldness he did not feel, Remus Lupin rang the bell at Nari's house.

Nari had been busy sweeping the temple courtyard when there was a knock at the door. Setting the broom to lean up against the wall, she darted over to the door and, spotting Cai hovering above the gate, grinned before shoving the door open. "Rem-chan!"

He wanted to nuzzle Nari, but in truth he was a bit afraid to do so in her home. Perhaps her Oni-chan would not approve such forwardness from a first time guest? Remus held back.
teh mau (11:56:48 PM): "Your home sounds.. interesting! A magical home? Suits you quite well." After shutting the gate behind him, Nari turned and nuzzled him. "Would you like to take a walk? Or head inside?"
RosePhoenixWolf (12:03:21 AM): "The Weasley twins enlisted my aid to make a version of the "Room of Requirement" after they watched Howl's Moving Castle with Trelweny one night." He shrugged, as if his assistance was nothing. Remus found himself nuzzling the winged beauty back before he had time to think about it. "Either sounds wonderful. I trust you know the best places to see."
teh mau (12:04:27 AM): "The gardens are the best place." With a grin she grabbed ahold of one edge of his robes and began trotting off towards her gardens. "We have a set of Weasely twins in our home too.. they're new, though, and haven't had a chance to make mischief."
RosePhoenixWolf (12:06:44 AM): Remus followed, quite startled at being dragged along. Then he groaned at Nari's mention of Weasleys. "At least I will be older than they, if they are new. Being younger than my tala brothers has caused me nothing but grief."
teh mau (12:08:10 AM): "Oh? They tease you for it?" She paused slightly before trotting onward. "Don't worry, the ones that live with my owner don't live with me."
RosePhoenixWolf (12:11:20 AM): "Yes, they do. Incesently."
The scholar blinked at that. "You don't live with your owner?" For some reason he had just assumed everyone lived with their human as he & the rest of the 'family' lived with Trelweny. "Do you visit her then?"
teh mau (12:12:16 AM): "Often enough.. It is easier for my siblings and myself to live here - there is much more room."
RosePhoenixWolf (12:15:24 AM): He nodded. Sometimes he could wish for more room in his home. Though normally, the quiet library was enough room for the solitary kitsu. He padded softly beside Nari, thinking.
teh mau (12:17:46 AM): It was a short walk to the gardens, and Nari let him keep his silence. At the entrance to the gardens, though, she turned and nudged him. "Do you like flowers, Remus?"
RosePhoenixWolf (12:21:31 AM): Remus tried not to jump at her nudge. He should be used to such contact by now. "Certainly. I have always appretiated the beauty of nature." and natural beauty such as yours he thought, surprising himself. Remus blushed furiously.
teh mau (12:23:48 AM): "Good. Then you'll love the gardens. <3" With a gentle tug, she stepped him into the gardens. They were more of the old-fashioned English variety than Oriental, with a fountain and benches in the center and flowers everywhere. Roses, ivy, almost every flower could be found in the gardens somewhere.
RosePhoenixWolf (12:28:53 AM): Remus breathed deeply, impressed & happy. "Trelweny would love this. Absolutely lovely." He glanced at his hostess. "Though not as lovely as you."

Even without being a werewolf he was still a clod where romance was concerned. "Let's keep walking. Why not show me your favorite spot in the garden?"
He totally did not think of his head still being in his robes when he suggested that.
teh mau (12:52:12 AM): Nari stifled a small laugh, before poking her nose into his robes. "I think it would be best for you to watch where you're walking, if we're to do that, ai." [ai in this case meaning more or less beloved. XD heh. he doesn't undestand it!]

Seeing Nari's face in his robes, Remus felt more than his face warming. Daring, he licked her nose & moved his head back out of his robes. "You are correct as usual, Nari."
teh mau (1:02:16 AM): Her eyes widened and she blinked as he licked her nose. But it was ony for the most brief of moments - and then she licked him right back. "Of course."
RosePhoenixWolf (1:04:18 AM): She licked him back. He smiled in a silly way as a tingle ran through him. "Shall we? Now that I am able to watch where I walk?"
teh mau (1:08:37 AM): "It is nice to see you smile." With a grin, she rubbed her nose against his chin before grabbing him by the edge of the robe again. She paused briefly before pulling him to a far corner of the garden. There, there was a small bench and a fountain on the wall surrounded by ivy. The area itself was surrounded by the fragrance of wysteria and jasmine. "This.. is my favorite spot."
RosePhoenixWolf (1:15:09 AM): He was kind of in a daze as he walked. Remus really did not focus again until they stopped, though the scent of the wysteria & jasmine had touched him as they approached. He breathed in deeply, then looked around with an appretiative eye. "It's breathtaking." He breathed reverently.
He nuzzled her tentatively. "Shall we enjoy it?"
teh mau (1:16:33 AM): "If you wish it." She made her way to the bench in the corner, turning to grin at him before she settled down.
RosePhoenixWolf (1:21:11 AM): He followed her, trying to get his pulse back to normal after his thoughts had rolled around on all the wrong ways what he had suggested could have been taken. He paused a moment when her joined her, wondering if it was too bold to lay beside her as he normally would. Remus eyed the benhc warily, deciding that he would feel more comfortable on the gound before her --for gentlemanly reasons if nothing else.
That decided, he lay on the ground byt the bench -though he was as close to Nari as he could be in such a situation.
teh mau (1:22:55 AM): "Oh, now that defeats the purpose." Nari mock-pouted. The bench was generally one that would be called a "lover's" bench - one small enough for only two to sit on.
RosePhoenixWolf (1:27:18 AM): "eh?" Remus sputtered in bafflement, turning to see Nari's pout. His heart tugged painfully within him. not seeing the mocking in her pout. "I am sorry... I did not think..." He flushed as words failed him. "Of course I would rather sit with you. He rose a little faster than perhaps would be termed proper & went to join Nari on the lover's bench. "Your Oni-chan will not be upset?" The wizard queried, worry in his voice.
teh mau (1:31:44 AM): "Oh... don't torture yourself so.." She nudged his cheek with her nose before licking him and snuggling up to him completely. "It is called a lover's seat.. and my oni will not mind - he is not home."
RosePhoenixWolf (1:35:48 AM): Fire shot through him & he felt oddly naughty being with Nari at her home without a chaperone. Of course they were both adults, but that was not the point. He snuggled closer, draping his robes to that they slightly covered Nari as well & chuckled lightly. "I fear I will always find something to torture myself over, Lovely Nari."

Remus re-buried his head in her hair, breathing in the smell of her mixed with the scent of flowers in the air. It made for a heady combination. "I think... yes,,," He practically whispered, a tiny fear seeping over him. He would know in a minute if he had overstepped his bounds. But he could not lie to her. No. Remus would not lie to Nari. He would lie to himself, but never to her.

Nari went completely still and squeaked lightly. Worry never entered her mind, she trusted him completely but still.. it was somewhat.. odd. [to not have control]

Remus nodded. For once he was finished with words he either wanted to sleep... or ot make the lovely female beside him shiver again. He grazed his teeth up her neck & long the curve of her ear & permitted himself to sigh happily before nipping her ear again.

With a blink, Nari growled lightly before taking hold of his ear again. If he was going to continue "playing" - so was she. Reaching up for his ear again, she trailed her teeth up his ear lightly, grinning to herself.
