I am amused that there is a missing apostrophe in the cry against illiteracy!

(And they did speak and the voice was like a choir of angels. LET THERE BE GAME!)

Beside him in the car sat his brother. He was shorter than Reiku but just as determined. His name was Alec Gearfried.

"Yeah, we'll find him." Reclining the seat a little he looked over the map and a handful of newspaper clippings. "Hey. The local paper said the last two murders were close to each other. We should start our search near this place. It's a church halfway between the two."

"I'm glad your optimistic Reiku. I just hope we can catch them this time. Last time they got away." Alec rubbed his eyes and watched the trees race past them out the window. "I don't want to see anyone else die."

reaching into the glove compartment he pulled out a rosary and put it around his neck. We've got the silver bullets in here also. It's a good thing we switched out the cars license plates at that gas station a few miles back."

Reading over the newspaper clipping he mumbled aloud. "Two dead in dumpster. Both were women. This one must be a dude. No female vampire would do that."

"Oh yeah. That's the zinger to the whole thing. He carved an ank into there chests and drained them both dry. The nutjob must like signing his handy work. I did a check on the ank symbol and... It's a pretty common symbol among vampires. Apparently there's a huge group of them that uses it as a gang symbol or something. they call themselves the Brujah. It looks like this ones a member."

Putting down the newspapers he pointed towards a church coming up on the left.

"That's it."

The church was worn with time. Though the white paint still shined in the light of the moon, the luster of prayer and devotion had worn off long ago. Now only the steeple stood to remind people of it's once holy nature. Alec stepped out of the car and pulled a crossbow from behind the seat.

"I got this thing for just such an occasion. Easier to reload than the one I used in Denver." Sitting it on the roof of the Sting-Ray he fetched a roll of long sharpened stakes out of the small trunk and strapped them onto his leg.

"I think we're ready. Let's see if it's home... oh and Reiku?" Alec cocked his head to one side and grinned.

"Just be careful. We don't have any special mojo juice like we did that time."

Everything went quiet as they went inside. Alec raised the crossbow and followed Reiku slowly. As they looked around they saw pews knocked over and old candle wax on the alter.

"must be a fun place for emo's to hang out," Alec thought but didn't say anything outloud.

There was a small noise from behind the pulpit.
