I have done it. Nothing happened. I even tried it again with the lights off. Again. Nothing happened.

But in the show Supernatural they say a girl named Mary was murdered. She had her eyes cut out and she tried to spell out the killer's name on a mirror. Then when someone says it she kills a person thats in the same room with a deep dark secret. For example killing someone.

I like that story the best but I haven't heard of Blood Mary that much.

Oh yes I saw that episode, but i missed the end bit since my stupid TV was playing up.

The stories of the murdered girl called Mary are some of my favourites.

most people dont really even know who bloody mary really is.

Mary Tudor, Mary I, or Bloody Mary as she was known to 17th Century Protestants, was the eldest child of Henry VIII. The only surviving child of his first marriage, to Katherine of Aragon. 'Bloody Mary' was the Mary of the last four years of her life. A staunch Catholic Queen in a religiously divided country she had 283 heretics burned at the stake in a misguided effort to bring England back to her religion.

as for flicking light switches, or flushing toilets...or some story of a lady who drowned her kids in a river...well i have no idea. I have never made the attempt, since as a kid, it really scared me.

if there is a way to call "bloody Mary" then it is most likely not the

I think every country has a different Bloody Mary story. A different girl called mary that for some reason attacks people when they call her.

Found a site with an interesting verison of the Bloody Mary story.

Well, the version I have heard ((and re- told)) goes like this.

wahmbulance WARNING: I found this story creepy while TYPING it out, please don;t read it if you get scared easily or if you just don't want to read my extra long post..((This story is quite scary)) wahmbulance

Once upon a time, there lived a girl called Mary. She lived with her family in a large old house by the lakeside.

One night, while Mary was preparing for bed and brushing her hair in front of her large vanity mirror, someone came up behind her and chopped her head off with an axe.

As you would imagine, Mary's clothes got quite soaked with blood. The murderer, hearing someone coming down the halway, hid Mary's body in the cupboard and placed her head on top of the vanity's mirror, where the blood slowly seeped down the glass.

Mary's parents found her body the next morning. But the blood that has dripped down the mirror refused to be taken off. Mary had been accused in the past of bieng a witch and of dabbling in the occult.

Mary's soul was trapped in the mirror for all eternity. But if you go into a room with a mirror, turn off all the lights and light a red candle and chant Mary's name three times, she will come for you...

If you are a good person, she will spare your life. But if she can see evil in your heart...She will kill you.

Yes, I have tried bloody mary before. It didn't work for me, but when you think about it- wouldn't the ghost of Bloody Mary just be a head??

that is similar to what i heard...i heard it that she was of a rich family and she got killed but i don't remember how and she went into her favorite mirror as the ghost and now she creeps from mirror to mirror looking for a chance to have people join her...or something like that...

I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning to soon.
When I was growing up in Northern USA I always went by the England version, the one where she was related to the Royals and so on and so forth.
I think I also heard a version where a girl named Mary came into an antique shop and saw a matching mirror to the one in her pocket.Since her family wasn't going to buy it, she quickly grabbed it and stuffed it in her pocket. The shopkeeper noticed her doing it and worked voodoo or something and the two mirrors worked together, sucking her in, which, in turn, infected each mirror, and once those mirrors were bought, they'd infect the next mirrors the encountered, ect.

As it so happens, this article I read a year or two ago makes mention of Bloody Mary in tandem with La Llorona; From what I remember, La Llorona was a woman who murdered/mercykilled/accidentally killed her child in a river and felt terrible amounts of remorse for it (Who wouldn't?). That seems to make a slight tie in with "Bloody Mary, I got your baby", which is something I hadn't heard before.

Bloody Mary is a viral meme, I think; She pops up in one guise or another in many different cultures with no real place of origin.

The Bloody Mary stories I know of are: 1- Mary I, child of Catherine of Aragon, 2- Mary was an unhappy bride who was killed in a railroad crossing while trying to evade the marriage, 3- Mary was a serial killer who murdered young girls in order use their young bodies to make her look young and pretty again, and 4- Mary was a pregant woman whose baby was ripped out of her stomach while she slept because her husband had found out that the child was a product of an adulterous affair hence the "Bloody Mary I have your baby" chant.

I've tried chanting Bloody Mary 13 times in the mirror once and 3 times another time with my friends. It doesn't work...well, at least for me it doesn't. I gave up on it a few years ago. I couldn't find any truth to it anyway.

I'd like to think that she's not completely evil.
And what's up with the Candyman?
I mean, who is he?

Anyways..
I overheard the story about Bloody Mary one day at school, and I immediately felt VERY negative vibes and decided I would NEVER try it.
Talking about her at night makes me paranoid. Like I'm being watched.

What happened to me was one of my friends did it and she suddenly felt a baby in her hands and it kept getting heavier and heavier until my friend fell.

They probably could...of course, a demon behind glass is a lot less threatening than a demon in ur base, killin ur doods.

hm... they can only screw with you in the mirrer, not get out, so they like make fun of them or something? question confused question
