Ryou took his deck out of his bag and sat back down at the table where he was sitting earlier. "we will see" he said with a grin. He started to shuffle his deck quickly with skilled hands and a smile. It had been a while since he dueled against someone. So he wasnt sure if he might have been just a tad rusty...
((i dont think we are going to rp out the duel? haha...soo i will let you pick who wins the duel ^^))

((Heh, my thoughts exactly xD. I can barely been one of the video games, let alone RP an entire duel out off of the top of my head...))
Jou stared wide-eyed down at the cards on the table. They had begun the duel some time ago, and it had been getting down to the wire for quite some time... until Ryou pulled a clever move out of his hat and totally obliterated Jou's defenses. The blonde had lost. "Wha... but... grah..." he hung his head down in defeat and then lifted it up to smile at Ryou through his bangs. "Eh, that was close... but I gotta admit, you're good. Almost as good as Yuugi even." He held out a hand to Ryou. "Good job... but i'll beat you next time!"

Ryou smiled in victory. For a moment there he had thought he was going to loose. He then looked up from his cards and to Jou. "Thank you. You played very well too" he said and took his hand, shakeing it softly. He let go and started to piled his own cards into a neat stack again. Once more, he was at a loss of what to do. The sun was starting to go down now and he felt a bit hungry. Afterall, it was around the time that he made dinner most of the time.

Jou, who had not noticed the mysterious sandwhich, leaned back in his chair and grinned at the boy across from him. "Thanks. It's been awhile since i've had a good duel with anybody. Yuugi didn't duel for awhile after... well, you know." He waved his hand dismissively and his eyes softened as he remembered the sad ending, his mouth also falling into a small frown. "He was really... distracted after that. Then ya' know Anzu and Honda aren't the best duelists around... and i'm not even gettin' started on that Kaiba jerk... didn't see Malik for awhile, but I don't think he liked me too much anyway... and then there's Shiz, who doesn't duel either. So," Jou shrugged, "everyone's just been busy or have bene doin' something else."

Ryou frowned at the mention of Yuugi and then nodded sympathetically. "Yeah, well, I am always here." he said with a smile and turned around to get his dinner when he noticed there was a sandwich already made. His light brown eyes widened and he looked around. "Jou?...is this yours?" he asked curiously and gave him a suprised look. He looked back to the sandwhich with a raised brow. How did it get there? Did his friend make it without him knowing...or did...he didnt hear Malik get up.

Jou smiled again at his friend's response. "Thanks man..." When Ryou mentioned the sandwhich, he stood up and tilted his head at the thing. "No... you mean... it isn't yours?" He took a step towards it, then stopped. "Maybe... you made it before and forgot about it? Cuz' I've never heard of ghosts goin' around making food for people..."

Ryou paused and looked at Jou. "Ghosts?..." his eyes widened in slight fear and looked back to the sandwhich. If they were ghosts...atleast they were nice enough to make food for him. He poked at it to make sure it was safe before takeing a bite. It was good...
After swallowing he smiled. "Well...guess they make good sandwhiches...wait" he paused and looked around the room in confusion and then looked back to Jou. "Is Malik up yet?" he asked softly, as if to let only his friend hear. He looked towards the living room. He hoped it wasnt a ghost...how would he get to sleep now?

Jou turned around as well, looking towards the living room. "I dunno... but why would he get up and just randomly make ya' a sandwhich? That doesn't make sense..." he squinted into the dark living room, which was no longer illuminated by the sunlight outside. He shivered despite himself. He had a weak spot about ghosts and things like that. They had always creeped him out...

Ryou froze as his eyes looked around. "Does that mean..." his voice dropped to nearly above a whisper, his now pale white hands gripping his plate. "is my house haunted?" he asked Jou in fright. Now he deffinantly wouldnt be able to sleep. In an empty...haunted...scilent house. His eyes fixed on his sandwhich, now not hungry. He put it on the counter and looked around the room, as if trying to find a ghost. "what do ghosts look like?...can you see them?" he asked softly and his shoulder seemed to shake a bit.
Maybe his house wasnt safe afterall. And now with no one there when he slept he would feel like someone else besides Bakura was watching him...some suicide killer back from the dead or something. Now Ryou's face was chalk white.

"I... I dunno..." Jou backed away from the living room and turned around to face the very scared looking Ryou. 'Whoa, he's even whiter than usual!' Jou quickly went to his friend's side and put a hand on his shoulder. "H-hey, c'mon, it's probably not anythin'! Let's just calm down and go see if Malik's up, kay'?" He smiled and tried to keep a confindent look on, but it was edged with obvious nervousness.

Ryou flinched as he felt something on his shoulder but it was just Jou and he smiled nervously. "Right...right, its probably just Malik thats up, thats all" he said, his voice lowering each minute. He slowly went towards the living room, his wide brown eyes darting to each part of the kitchen and dining room. They finally got to the living room from what seemed like an hour to him.
And to his releif Malik wasnt there. "heh..." he paused and pushed some white hair out of his eyes. "thought my house was haunted..." he whispered and smiled in sudden relaxtation, the faint color returning to his face. But now his question was where Malik went off to. And if he had gone home...then his must of been haunted. With that thought, the color went away again...

Jou followed Ryou to the living room, and sighed with relief when he saw that the couch was empty. However, he still felt the figure at his side tense up and, upon inspecting him, saw that he was just as pale as before. Frowning, Jou gave Ryou's shoulder an extra squeeze. "Hey, calm down, alright? Malik's up, so maybe it was him... no, it probably was him." Jou had quickly added the last part onto the sentance, wanting the theory to sound more believable to the both of them.

Ryou nodded slowly. "Right...its just Malik" he said, mostly to himself though to keep him from being scared to death. If sprits from ancient egypt could exsist through items...wouldnt it be beleivable for ghosts to exsist as well? He pushed the thought behind him before smiling to himself and nodding again. "Wonder...where he went" he said slowly and softly

"Dunno... bathroom maybe?" The blonde scanned the dark living room carefully with his eyes, still not able to find anything. It was still steadily getting darker outside as the sun finished setting. Jou frowned and heaved a sigh, running a hand through his golden hair. -I'm gonna have to walk home in the dark now... great.- Jou wasn't fond of the idea, knowing all too well who and what prowled the streets at night, especially around his neighborhood; And then, to add onto that, there was this added fear of things 'that go bump in the night'. He'd rather take on some muscle-bound thug then tango with a ghost any day. Jou removed the hand from his hair and shook his head out to get all of it back in place.
