Got the offical date of when Tommy leaves, it's the day after Christmas....

I might not be on as much for a little bit and if I'm super sarcastic and mean, please forgive me in advance.

Oh Luna, and all you other army wives- I can't begin to imagine what it's like for you, but I wish you all the best and hope that you can make the most out of the time you do have.

that's just like the army I'm surprized it's not on christmas those jerks. We will totally understand if your mean. It's hard not to feel like kicking everybody at first, especially happy couples shopping together as you wrestle your little one and franticly grab what you need... grrrr!!! See I get mean just thinking about it.

My husband may be leaving me in a few months again as well. Not much can be done and it's not worth getting upset until it's official, but 4/5 battalions were told they're going in the next 4 months which is exactly what happened the last time he deployed.

if i was in the military about... a year ago... it wouldnt have bothered me at all if i was deployed... i mean.. it would be "you're deployed", "yessir!" ... but now that i've found someone so special.. i just couldnt take that sort of risk......... it seems.. all of a sudden... i have something of higher worth, to me, than patriotism...

I dont know what to say to the military families with people deployed or that will soon be deployed... but i get the same feeling as when i think about the ANZACs.... the feeling that... i have to live a good life... because they sacrificed themselves so i could... that i have to try and make a difference... because im not ready to give my life anymore...

crying Today is the day for Illiana's Izzy to go to Korea I believe, so just popping this back up for if she wants to talk, or anyone else.

*many huggles to all our military folk here*

Good luck Izzy! Be careful! We'll all be thinking of you! And Illy, stay positive and as strong as you can. We will ALWAYS be here to talk with you and cheer you up... or to vent with ya!

I hope this time passes by super fast and that y'all get to talk and write letters often. May you have a boring and safe time Izzy!

I know I was just thinking of Illiana today. I know it's hard, but we're here for you if you need us. What part of Korea is he going to? I'm pretty sure he'll be okay. 3nodding I had a friend who was there and was right on the DMZ and he was all right, a little bored at times, but okay.

I was looking at your signature and I was nodding my head. I know Tommy and I have been married for 3 years now and we've probably only spent maybe half of it together.

*hugs*

Thanks all. I showed this to Izzy before he left and he teared up and asked me to send a big thank you to you guys and gals. We were fortunate in the fact that he didn't leave until 4pm. So that gave us at least another day together. He called from Seattle last night and made it that far in one piece. As far as we know he's going to be sent to Camp Casey, but with all things Army, we're not holding our breath. He should be there sometime late tonight if not tomorrow morning. We had a good laugh about him packing though since he took a duffle bag left over from my days in the Army. So he'll be wandering around with a bag emblazoned with his wifes' maiden name. lol. The last few weeks were wonderful, aside from the fact that we kept trading our colds. Little bit is doing alright, but didn't go to bed last night until very very late. She kept searching the house for daddy.... crying I think the worst part of yesterday was when we watched Izzy go through the security check at the airport. Aislinn looked at him and yelled, "Daddy! Get back here right now!" When that didn't work she tried to convince him to take her shoes with him. We watched his plane leave and then headed home, where I've been sitting pretty blah every since. How blah you ask? Blah enough to finish my brand new game in less than the standard 20 hours it usually takes to play it. It seems I finished Koudelka in 12 hours. o.O Even playing that wasn't fun though, because my survival horror/rpg tipster wasn't beside me laughing at my frustrations with the puzzles...Again, thank you.

^_^ No problem. When you're up for it, maybe we can do something again sometime.

I'm glad to hear he's made it in one piece so far. 3nodding And I totally second Loki's sentiments. Quiet and Boring are good things when deployed.

Boring deployments are the absolute best kind. I almost didn't leave the house today but Jackson Hewitt called and baited me with my tax refund. So..SHOPPING!!! WHEE!!! Well not really. I did however go and get a phone for the bedroom, and a new journal. It's all pretty and purple and will be sent to Izzy when I fill it up. I have a nasty habit of writing him 23 page letters, so I figure for the two weeks he won't have an addy, I can occupy myself with filling up that little 93 page book. At the rate I write him, it won't take very long. lol. I think I'll have little bit fill up a couple of pages too with pretty pictures for daddy.

I'm sorry to see all the spouses deploying. Went through it several times and it sucks. I know you think you're among friends, but you never know who is at the other end of the keyboard. Remember your OPSEC and don't post dates they're leaving and coming home. Lose lips sink ships and all that wink

whee Great idea Illi. I'm like that too, a rabid letter writer and those first couple of weeks are torture with no where to send them. I know he'll love it.
