"I reeeeally dizzy," Gavin replied, sitting perfectly still to steady his head. He followed suit and started staring at the clouds too. They were fluffy, like she said. The dizziness and the clouds were making him sleepy. He kind of wanted to just fall asleep right there in the middle of the grass. He yawned.
Remi laughed, taking another bite of the sandwich. "Your daughter's quite the culinary genius. This stuff is amazing. You should let her help more often."

"Yush! It taste better now Mommy!" Ina called back without thought, rolling over again to look at Gavin. What was he doing? She scooted toward him until they were pretty much touching elbows, "Whachya do'n?" He looked like he was going to sleep or something.
"Well...I suppose shes not going to give me a choice in the matter. She really loves to help out in the kitchen whether I want her there or not," Ari chuckled. She was at least glad Remi didn't mind her charge's little game she had played with the food. She hardly wanted to make her new friend sick.

"Tired..." he muttered. The grass was soft, the clouds were lolling, and it was a nice day outside. Perfect time for a nap. He yawned again. He really wasn't even all that hungry.
"I wish Gavin would help me with making food," Remi said, finished off the first half of the sandwich. "He likes playing with food more than making food. I have to stay away from buying anything that's remotely messy or that could potentially stain carpet."

"Nap time?" Ina asked thoughtfully. She turned over and wrapped her arms around him, her tail curling over the both of them. Mmm...naps were nice! Even though she hadn't had her classic snack before the nap...it was still all good. Now that she thought about it, she was rather tired. Running around did that to you.
"Well, as they say, boys are a completely different species. Girls are funny about being clean, even as children. Boys...don't really care too much," Ari grinned and shook her head. She took a couple of grapes and popped them into her mouth one at a time.

Her tail was soft. He liked that. Snuggling in the grass, he stuck his thumb in his mouth as he slowly drifted off to sleep. Perfect day...for...a nap...snoooorre
"Oh, don't even get me started on trying to get Gavin to take a bath," Remi laughed. "I have to chase him around half the apartment just to get him in the tub."
Then she noticed he fell asleep. "Oh dear, well they've tired themselves out, haven't they."

Ina found herself drifting off to sleep too. After all, it was very cuddly taking a nap with someone else. She had never done it before, because Luca wasn't someone you really wanted to cuddle with. So she seemed pretty content as she slumbered, though her ears did twitch every so often as his snores.
Ari laughed, "Well...Ina doesn't mind as long as she has bath toys. But she doesn't really jump at the idea either." She glanced over at the grassy spot the two were sleeping in and smiled, shaking her head, "Well, it's about time they slowed down a little...running everywhere as they were."

Remi smiled at Gavin curling up next Ina. As soon as they were finished she should probably bring him home. Poor little guy, he was probably exhausted from all the running around.
"Yeah, I'll probably bring him back up to our apartment soon. Just to at least get him in a bed," Remi said. "He's not going to like that he'll have to take a bath because he played in the gardens all day."

"I think they'll be out for a while though...which is nice for a change. Short naps really don't give you much free time, do they?" Ari commented absently. Yes...naptime. Her favorite time of day. The one time she didn't have to run after toddlers every five seconds. Yes, whoever invented it was a genius.

"No, unfortunately they never give me enough time," Remi sighed. "I'm supposed to be working on my next book, but with Gavin around I can only concentrate during his naptimes or after he goes to sleep. I wake up very early and go to bed very late."
It was true, ever since she received Gavin she didn't have anytime to further her almost non-existent writing career. Then again, she didn't have the fear of paying rent over her head anymore, so there wasn't much motivation to start churning out ten thousand words a night.

"Wow, that sounds hard...I don't think I could do it. I love sleep too much. While I can stay up late no problem...I'm not a morning person and I don't drink coffee so there's nothing to really help me," Ari said with a sheepish smile as she shook her head. Mornings just weren't her thing. Sadly, Ina loved getting up early. Often Ari had to get up, tell Ina to play in her room for a while, and go back to get a light sleep again in her room.

"I live off my coffee," Remi replied with a chuckle. All hail to Starbucks. "I let Gavin sleep in occasionally if I really need to get some work done. But at around nine in the morning I revert to at-home mom."
She laughed at the last part. It was fairly difficult trying to keep a toddler entertained for most of the day. Usually at-home moms had bills and stuff to worry about, though with the rent being free and all she need only worry about groceries and clothing.

"I hate the taste, I'm afraid," Ari shook her head. She had never taken to coffee, sadly, "And Ina tends to...not want to sleep in. I'm lucky if she wakes up later then 8 in the morning. Which to me is ungodly. I love sleeping in." Ari was the kind of person who'd sleep until noon if you let her. In her younger days she had slept through people trying to wake her up too, though now that she had young ones to watch she couldn't do it anymore.

"I used to like sleeping in," Remi reached for another sandwich (man peanut butter and turkey were good). "But sleeping in doesn't pay the bills, so I'm stuck with early mornings and late nights. If I'm lucky there's a nap somewhere in the middle of the day."
She looked over toward the still sleeping Gavin and Ina. She figured after she was done with this sandwich it'd be time to take him back up to the flat.

"Ah, I see. My home was inherited, so I only have the basic bills-water, electricity, that kind of thing. And food and everything of course," Ari nodded. She worked as well, but her jobs were odd it seemed. A little metal work here and there, some art once and a while...anything she could do from home, really. And obviously she was doing ok with it if she had free time on her hands.

"Technically," Remi started, trying to draw figures and numbers from her head, "since I live here I don't have to pay rent or utilities. However, I still have to get groceries, clothes, toys, and everything else on a writer's budget--which isn't much at all."
It was true, she had little to nothing. Before she moved to the compound she raked in barely enough money from her few books to support herself. Now it was slightly easier, but there were still two mouths to feed. That, and the royalties she was receiving were getting smaller and smaller as time went by. She needed to get another book out there before she fell into author obscurity...again. She took another bite of the half-eaten sandwich.
