when I was sad and depressed I would cut and think about suicide almost everyday.no one helped me through it but a friend who gave me a wake up call.I've always been depressed and still am but I know better than to blame myself now.
I think lots of people still need that wake up call.

I seem to be a 'Goth' by many means, and I do really enjoy Emo music. I have cut, and think I will do it again soon. Point* I make sure no one in my real life sees it, or even knows.
I don't consider myself a 'Goth', 'Emo', or serious 'Cutter', but... thats my opinion.

Emos are not cutters. And why are you going on with that label?....
The way I see it, you shouldn't be PROUD of calling yourself an emo, because all the emos I know try to call themselves something else.

That said, I am pretty bipolar. Meaning, my moodswings can be triggered in seconds and have my going from giggly to pretty much suicidal. I heard Gerard Way say that he used to think of death as an escape route: "well, if things ever get really bad I'll just kill myself." Is that supposed to be radical? I can certainly relate to it. I don't think i ever would kill myself but I certainly would not rue a premature death sometimes. I don't cut because I am not into anything that could possibly become addicting and take over my life. Except when I am really upset I will maybe give my arm one good slice and that'll tide me over. Does not, by any means, happen regularly though. I tend to get angry now instead of depressed but trust me, those waves do come.

It is true that being emo does not nessicarily make one a cutter. the generalization has never really bothered me, though because I happen to me both.
