"Well...All dragon's possess magic, with their effects being categorized by colour. I don't know all about the types of magic each colour has, but that is not the important thing here. Your dragon will know what he can and cannot do. Dragons are able to 'pass' their magic to another being. It is easiest to do this with their bonded. This magic manifests itself through you and is directed by you. The effect is up to your dragon's abilities." Katrina paused a moment and reflected on how best to explain this in simplified terms.
"Basically, you can affect yourself, or the world around you, in a way determined by your dragon, who is giving you your powers. The manuscripts Cedric gave me has a list, though it is incomplete, we can look it up later if you like, but we have to bring it here from the dragon world. What colour is your dragon?"

He resisted the urge to yell in protest to this nonsense. He looked back at the dragons, who were now preoccupied. How could he doubt it now? "Seyu is silver." He answered simply, trying not to ask more questions. "This is just so sudden." He said after a time, sighing and shaking his head. "Meeting my supposed father. Finding out I have a dragon. Apparently I have magical abilities." He said that last part with mocking disbelief, waving his arms about dramatically. "I just want to know what will happen now."

"Frankly, I don't know,. I guess whatever you decide.." Because we aren't in Feteris anymore and I dont think these dragon's would like very much if I followed Feterian protocol. Katrina thought to herself privately. "...but whatever you decide to do, you will have to remember that your dragon is a part of it now."
As an after thought, Katrina mental asked Drxisisliege to check up on Seyu. After all, her compound would have a hostile reaction to the dragon. Seyu is safe Was the simple response, no more than Katrina needed, or wanted, to know. She also figured Aimus would check on Seyu if he knew how. If not, it was no harm done in keeping the information to herself, as long as his dragon was safe.
"If you want anything to eat or drink, there are some supplies in the caves. Its no guest house, but it seems cozy."

Aimus looked over to the dragons with a curius longing now. They seemed like such gentle creatures now that they weren't surrounding him. "No thanks." He said idly, still watching the things as they played. He turned back to Katrina. "May I go and see them?" He asked politely(out of habit), trying to keep the excitement from his voice. "The dragons?"

Katrina shrugged. "Truthfully, Aimus, I can't stop you. I don't control the dragons. They are generally approachable, but be careful around the younger ones; they are playful and tend not to realise how fragile we are compared to their normal playmates." Katrina said. She gesutred for him to do as he wished, indicating a direction towards where the most dragons had congregated. While the social aspects of dragonolgy eluded her, she expected that they would seek companionship, similarly to humans, to discuss topics of interest for both parties. She would have to talk to Drex about it. Katrina also felt proud of herself. Any other Feterian woman would have had the need to assert her superiority here, Isabel would not last a minute. Katrina knew that would be a bad idea, but she had also gotten used to it by being around Cedric enough.

A red-and-grey zebra-patterened dragon was commanding the attention of a few of his companions. By some luck of superior age or genetics, this dragon was bigger than the others without being full grown. He assumed an animated pose, with the base of his tail elevated, but the tip drooping to the ground-- non-threatening. His neck arched in a similar nature, showing off his height but with his eyes closer to his companion's level. He looked, for all the world, as if he were telling a joke.
Rearing up suddenly on his hind legs, the dragon splayed his front legs wide and waddled awkwardly around as he breathed sharp huffs through his open mouth. His impression of a human had the others bobbing their front halfs to the ground in a playful, laughing gesture.

Aimus approached the dragons with a look of cunfusion and awe on his face. The dragons appeared to be mimicing him. He smiled, letting a small laugh escape his throat. As he came within arms distance of the bigger dragon that had been walking like him, he held out his hand slowly. "I won't hurt you." He said reassuringly. He almost laughed, realizing he was reassuring a dragon. "If you don't hurt me." He added quietly with a little smirk coming to the tips of his mouth.

The dragon Aimus approached sniffed his hand briefly, then pivoted and wagged his tail at him. Look what I have and you don't! Many of the other dragons in the immediate area reared up on their hind legs in a similar fashion, whooping and huffing in what must be laughter.

Aimus laughed, looking behind him at his lack of tail for a moment before looking back to Katrina for a second. "They seem to think they're funny." He grinned, turning back to the dragons. He balled his hands into fists and back again, showing his aposable thumbs more than anything. Then he pointed to their feet dangling in the air. "Look at what I have and you don't."

Katrina grinned. Aimus was certainly more bold in his advances. Although exchanging wits with dragons did not seem to be the wisest course of action, it seemed the young ones were amused. He shares their humour. Is it really so unreasonable to approach this whole situation in a more aimable and honest way? Drxisisliege said from her comfortable position in the sun. Katrina maintained the good-natured grin as she moved to stand beside the dormant figure of the dragon. "You are perhaps one of the few, if not the only dragon, who truely sees the Feterian woman's reasons for reigning men in. Why is it that you resist the logic, they are irrational! Its for their own safety." Katrina explained softly. She spoke aloud now, because for the first time ever she could converse with her dragon. It was so wonderful to hear Drex's every breathe, or perhaps the tiresome snort with which Drxisisliege dismissed Katrina's comments. Male dragon's are larger than females. They tend to be bigger and stronger, not always, but on average. However, do you not see both male and females together here? Cannot this be so with humans? Drxisisliege countered. "Don't get Socratic with me, Drxisisliege." Katrina retorted, covering her lack of response. What Katrina was talking about was a psychological problem, not a physical difference. Its different...isn't it?

Most of the dragons got tired of walking around on their hind legs like an oaf. Most of the crowd began to wander away, except for the smart alec who had started the joke. With a graceful plop, he all at once was on all fours again. The way he held his neck and tail up, and the way that he looked sideways down at Aimus, one could imagine that he was preening.
His stance was slightly aggressive. He'd met few humans, and all of them had been adults. Cedric, furthermore, was bonded to a powerful dragon and not one to mess with. His wife had her power too, and an unbalanced mind, so it was best to leave her alone. Here, though, was a young one who had yet to prove any power-- or any worth, beyond his bond to kin.

Aimus' laughter faded quickly as the dragon landed on all fours with a loud thump. The thing almost appeared angry. He started thinking that this thing may jump at him, and what would he be able to do to defend himself? He smiled awkwardly, backing up from the mean looking dragon. "You don't want to hurt me, right?" He said simply, his good mood gone in an instant. It's amazing what a little bit of threat can do to a person. What does one say to calm a dragon, he thought to himself worriedly.

Katrina reached out slightly to read the emotions of the other dragon, but before she could, Drxisisliege snorted. The older dragon had detected the use of her magic even before it was aparant through their bond and Katrina broke off the attempt. Besides, it might do the boy some good to work through the encounter on his own. Sooner or later, he would have to deal with dragons. Still, Katrina moved a little further down the field, just to be closer.

The dragon loosened his jaw and drew his lips up to show his teeth. He thought his point well taken. The human had made fun of him, but he was one of the strongest of the young ones, and wanted to make clear that he was not to be messed with. But now the human seemed to be showing submission, so as long as things stayed that way, joking around might be ok.
But first he wanted to be sure of the human's submissiveness. The dragon drew himself up further, raised one clawed paw off the ground about the boy's head, and hissed.

Katrina gave a sour look back at Drxisisliege, almost as if saying I told you so. Drxisisliege merely stretched non-chalantly, but Katrina knew Drex was no longer lazy and idle. Young dragons had a tendency to take tyhings too far, and Drex would step in if she had to. While Katrina stood vigilant over the situation, Drxisisliege sent a gentle thought to the young dragon. Remember he is a bonded! He has dragon, so if you hurt him, you hurt his dragon. You wouldn't wish to harm a fellow dragon, now, would you, youngling. Drex's tone was reproving, stressing her age over the dragon, just as the dragon was full of himself being the oldest dragon of his group.
