This wasn't going well at all. Ryoko was sliding back further than she needed to be. She wasn't making headway at all. This was starting to bother her a good deal. It was a combination of her mind not staying completly focused and the rock face seeming ot just about hate her. She growled and moved her hand to another rock that she knew was stable from the previous ascent up this way. She held her hands there for a moment and then began to pull herself up again. Having stabalized herself, she removed the other hand again and began to climb up the face with the pulling/launcing mostion again. It was a great deal harder but it would definatly help her out. To make things worse, she was using ehr weaker hand. That was sure to have some benificial side effects later. She was use to using her left hand but not for extended periods of time. She wasn't stupid though, if it started to get too tired, she'd remove it post hast and switch hands to put in the 'fresh' man before anything dangerous happened. she just had to move a bit faster than she was now or else it might take a bit too long to do it otherwise. She pulled again to drag herself up.

She was almost half way up to the first ledge that was seeable to her. She was making pretty good time actually. THe change in climbing methods was helping a great deal. She could feel the muscels in her arm burning and that meant that, to an extent, they were growing stronger. She had to keep up a study pace. As she moved, she ehard the sound of birds over head and looke dup. She saw a flock of birds flying overhead and smiled a bit as she was a little distracted but still held her grip. She wasn't that stupid. Her hand gripped to the stone tightly as she began to force the climb again. The heat wasn't even an issue anymore as it seemed to combine with her sweat and cool her off quickly. The entire process was nice and refreshing and she couldn't wait to get to the top of the cliff to enjoy her water that was waiting on her. SHe couldn't wait ot see how much her strenght had grown either once she got home. She knew her son was getting stronger all the time and she oculdn't really stand by. Images of her success here and in the ninja world filled ehr mind, she was getting a little giddy.

Ryoko had met and passed the half way mark. SHe knew she had as she looked up to the ledge then looked back down. She looked back and forth a few times and noticed that, just form a basic glance, one didn't seem too much farther from her thant he other and that was a plus. She made her free hand move into the bag and began to rummage thorugh it. A few moments passed before she pulled out one of the flint rocks. She began to knock it against the wall to show her passing the half way mark. She put a one next to it so she would know how many times she passed this mark. Her hand reapplied the rock to the back and she let it hang loose again and looked ahead. Her triels up to now had to be something that would enhance her strength greatly and she knew she'd benifit from it. She jsut had to survive it. A drop from this height would efinatly kill or at least hurt a hell of a lot. She moved to another rock nearby and readjusted herself and began to pull up again to another rock tha she saw only a little ways ahead of her.

The sound of hte birds overhead was somewhat soothing to Ryokos nerves right now and she enjoyed it. She couldn't ask for a more perfect day of training than this. Even when she trained with ehr father, she would love to see days like this come about although it wasn't a huge occurance when they did but she took what she could get and ran with it mostly. Her sensei would rush outside when days like this came and bothered everyone to come out and 'play' with him. The only tihng he liked more were festivals but that was a different instance intirely.
Her Nin-do...why the hell did that pop into her mind at this time? Why was she thinking of this at this moment? What was the point of it now? She knew her way and she knew her will. She wanted to protect who she could and do what she could in this life. She gripped ahold of the rock and moved her body over a slight bit to get a better grip upon the face of hte rock and pulled herself up with it again.

The surface was showing more stability the further up she went and this meant far more easily scaled points although there were bound to still be some areas of problems for her but she'd cross that bridge when it came, so to speak. She oculdn't let it get to ehr now. She was past the half way mark and she had no where left to go but up. The ledge she had set her sights on was in sight and the sun seemed to almost shine on the ledge like it was moving ehr own, telling her to keep moving. Her hand grasped ahold of the next rock and pulled herself up with great determination. Her body moved right along with it. She put her legs into the thrust of her body. The bag she wore swong thanks to ehr bodies violent movements but it staid fast to her body. It didn't move with enough power to bother her nor disturbe her strides. She was making great time that she was sure even her father would be proud of.

Finally the bag was starting to get to her. She made a stride too large and The weight of the bag and her own weight began to drag her down a bit, so much so to where she lost the place hold and her fingers slipped. She slide down a bit but recaught her grasp. She looked up and finally back down ot her bag. It was a little shaken but she fixed it a bit. She moved around a bit and began to slip from her sholder. She began to readjust it and looked back up. She wasn't going to let this setback bother her. Not when seh as so close. She moved her bag back to its position and began to move again after getting another good grip on the wall.

Ryoko's temple began to twitch with a slight bit of anger. The last two attempts to move forward had failed misserably. Well, they could have been far worse but still. She was getting tired of this entire little game and began to put her all into every pull. She couldn't stand the thought of just being stuck on this rock or even worse, falling to a painful and untimely death. Sides, she was too young and hot to die. But on the up side, she'd make a lovely splatter.

This was starting to really bug her. The cliff side was getting more and more unstable it seemed. Every stone she grasped onto seemed to give way before she could launch to another. She was going backwards almost at the same rate she ascended. This wasn't acceptible. She had to find a good rock and soon to make her ascention up the mountain. She gripped ahold of the rock she had and finally pulled up hard.

Her knees scrapped against the harsh mountain. She grimmiced a bit at the slight pain and just looked up at the top of the stone. The ledge seemed to be slipping further and further away. This couldn't be happening. She was doing so well a moment ago. Was the mountain really just this obssessed with revoking her access. It didn't appreciate her attempting to scale it in such a manor. Maybe others had tried and failed but she wouldn't be among those people. A deep roar of anger rose from her and she thrust herself up again.

She had done it. A huge burst of energy moved her further up the mountain. She was almost at the ledge. She had to move a bit more an dcouldn't give up yet.

That was the last push. Ryoko felt herself pull a bit harder than necessary. She flew a little over the ledge and landed back on her feet. She stood for a moment and looked over the edge in triump. She gazed for a long moment and then fell back on the rock with a deep sigh. She had done...now time to eat!
