Larry hummed lightly. The hum wasn't any particular tune, and Larry fashioned the notes as he went along. He had a versatile voice, and generally used it as often as he could, sometimes to the grievance of anyone unfortunate enough to be close by.

Larry sounded as though he was humming through a straw with his nose closed. As it happened, he could hum very prettily, but preferred to make funny noises instead.

"Now, let's see." He mumbled to himself, in between hums. "A kid, a key, and an...oh, bother, that doesn't start with "K" at all. Let's see. A runt, a room, and a... Well, there just aren't any more words for key. Relic? But that's not right. A lad, a lounge, and a lock-pick? I guess I'm really pushing it, there."

Progression was slow, but enjoyable. He found his way into the Boneyard, unfixing his slingshot and picking up some rocks in easy, stooping motions. Larry was ever attentive to the bygone art of the slingshot, in dedication to countless broken windows and other methods of puerile trouble making. He had always thrived more on the attention than the trouble.

When he practiced at home, he broke things. This did not, of course, keep Larry from practicing at home. The faithful slingshot did its best to target glass and terrorize Fifi, and Larry did his best to cringe and feel guilty for all of two seconds before firing another round. It was an ancient partnership: Boy and Slingshot. Of course, now it was Man and Slingshot, which only removed interfering mothers and increased the damage. The natural order dictated that an interfering mother be replaced with an interfering wife, but Larry was free of both and so free to wreak destruction and havoc as he liked.

He neatly picked off the head of a dreary flower, (an accident, since he'd been aiming for a nearby dandelion instead) just missed something that might have been a rat (although he would have felt guilty if he'd actually hit it), and zanged a nice hip-shot into a glass bottle someone had left in the grass.

"...A punk, a place, and a pick?"

There were actually a lot more requests for missing things and animals than for people. This was not because less people went missing, but because people were missed less.

"Three-fifty..." Rubido breathed the words, stunned. The crowd was shocked too, as it should have been. Very few had even imagined such a thing as "sale" since the fall of Wyander, and the tension between them could have splintered a well-build house. In a minute he was sure they would stampede.
Rubido glanced at the horrified merchant, even if he was insane enough to host a "sale," he was somber enough to know this would not end well for him. Besides, the hint of a death glare the merchant gave his little announcer woman was enough to tell the tale. Rubido himself was too far away to have a chance at the bags if all went to hell. "Damage control..."

Without missing a beat, Rubido stepped up onto an impromptu podium by the girl. "It's the truth, ladies and gentlemen! This man has found such strength within his heart, such generosity, he wishes to gift each of you with a package for only three-hundred-fifty thousand gold! 'Amazing!' you might say, 'Impossible!' but no! Hurry now, and you can savor one of these fine feasts for only three-hundred-fifty thousand gold pieces!" As he spoke, the crowd quickly began to lose interest and fade away.

Rubido stepped down and smiled brilliantly at Emi. "Now then," he turned toward the merchant, "I just saved your entire stock. What will it be?"

"Look, it's worth more than you'll get from the Peace Enforcement units," she spoke quickly, noting the limpness of Elliot's body. "Take it to Kensington, and you might get a loaf of bread and some apples for it. All we ask is that you hide us and keep quiet until nightfall. We'll be gone and cause you trouble no more."

Grey eyes blinked once, then twice at the silver piece in the girl's hand. From what he knew from the theater’s extensive collection of costume jewelry the brooch was legitimate. He gave the jewels a final blink before looking away to study the young woman and her companion, not yet budging from his spot in the open hatch.

From the content of her little speech she didn’t seem a sympathizer of Sehket’s, and with her ailing friend they didn’t seem to pose much of a threat. After a moments pause the dark haired youth sighed, a smile creeping across his features as he shook his head. “I don’t need your jewelry. The Peace troops keep us well fed, else they’d have nothing to do at night besides drink,” which they did anyway.

Backing down the ladder a bit he held out his arms, “Hand down your friend, you two can stay in one of our storage rooms, just don’t dirty the costumes alright?” He paused again before adding, almost in after thought, “If it’s the troops you’re hiding from you needn’t worry. They won’t be here tonight, it’s our Rest Day. We’re working on the great drama, Ithalmus—I have the lead of course,” he accompanied the last bit with a grin and a wink.

He hadn’t exactly specify where exactly ‘here’ was, he assumed she knew that she was atop the Waynader’s ‘finest’ theater.

As Emi stood there, she looked at the old man and knew he was shocked...of course he would be, it was simple...charge cheaper the more the old man would make to live another day and buy what he needed at whatever cost. She knew that the crowd would run towards and act insane, but Emi was planning to stand there with gramps and help him out, just then a man stood infront of the audience and spoke.

She listened to his words and glared at the man, seeing the truth be turn into a lie....what else is new in this hell hole with people like the one who spoke of false words. She looked at the man and saw him sigh as he knew he was done for now.

Emi shook her head while looking down, as she raised her head she saw the man infront of gramps, before he could respond Emi stepped infront of the old man and spoke...in a cold...and not so happy tone of voice as she had before "what the hell do you think you are doing?

Rubido took a step back, surprised at the girl's ferocity. "Look, I don't know what you have against this guy, but forcing him to sell all of his stock at that price? That's almost cruel." He paused, then added, "Sell all your stuff at that price and you won't even break even. Again, I'm not sure what this guy did to you, but that's no reason to starve him..." The young man trailed off, wondering what exactly he was getting himself into.

what the man said to Emi hit a nerve, as she watched him trail off she quickly looked at the old man and apologize "Sorry gramps, knew you wanted to get rid of your shipment as soon as possible, I will try my best to help you but yea...I got a bone to pick now taking her food from the old man and leaving double the amount that he asked for she followed the man from a distance, digging in her pocket for a small black book. She wasn't going to waste any time and threw the book at the man's head

Rubido had left the stand with a slightly confused nod to the merchant, and pushed his way through the crowd to a more open space. He had just considered himself in the clear when a small, black book hit him, in a flurry of thin pages, at the small of his neck. Flinching, Rubido whirled around to stare at it, one hand massaging the place where he had been hit. "What in the world is your problem?" he growled, glowering at Emi's distant figure. "And what is this?" At once, the book was open in his hand, its pages open for inspection.

Easter's eyes scanned Igor's face. It was as if she was in her own fairy tale. Her desires... Just what were those again? She felt a surge of excitement that didn't dare reach her skin. "Of course you may have my consent." Her voice was steady like that of a woman far past youth. The girl was sure she'd wake up soon and all the promises would be washed away by consciousness. But, it was fun to play along while it lasted. At least in her dreams she could humor herself to some degree.

As if God himself responded, a thin cut suddenly opened the skin of the girl. Igor extended the document in his hand to catch the few drops of blood that spilled from her arm. As the blood ran down the paper, it seemed to wash off the printed ink, until the names Easter Grey and Bishamonten were no longer distinguishable.

"Now, give me your payment. I require the card."

Adlei hesitated at the man's invitation before slipping the brooch back into her pocket. His generosity was uncommon, especially these days, and she questioned it. Even if he was intending to turn them in, they would be able to get a decent hour's rest before the Peace Enforcement units could make it here. By that time, Elliot could use at least some of his powers.

"Sir, wait a minute. What is your name?" Adlei inquired, as she began shifting Elliot towards the open hatch.

Feyd seemed to deflate a bit at the question, but he took Elliot, easing down the ladder's rungs one at a time. He didn't mind that she seemed hesitent to trust him, he'd expected that. Most Waynander's would turn away two strangers without a second though, but then again Feyd wasn't 'most.' However, what really disappointed him was that fact she didn't know his name. Even with Sehket in power Feyd still worked the streets by day, playing in the Theater at night, he had hoped his name might have gotten around. Drat that Sehket, it was his fault! No one had time for preformances because of him. The man was ruining his career!

"I'm Feyd Raither... maybe you've heard of me?" there was an almost plaintive tone in his otherwise confident voice. Expression slightly hurt he offered another tidbit of information, hoping to spark some sort of recognition.

"I'm an actor."

Hearing the familair sound of her sisters steps Hikari sat up straight and let her eyes dart to where she knew her sister would come out. "There you are Yami!" She called cheerfully, a small smile on her face.

Slowly she raised to her feet and brushed off the folds of her dress before bringing her hands together in front of her, each hand holding the tarot card as if it were a bridge between them. "I take it you were painting? Did you do a good job?"

She made her way to meet her sister half way, walking with one foot directly in front of the other as she so often did. "If you wouldnt mind...I would like to go out today...What do you think of the idea?"

Emi continued to walk towards the man as he whirled around and rubbed his neck, "what the hell is my problem? What the hell is your problem? You had no business with interferring with what was going on! she spoke in a cold and angry tone. As she finally was right infront of him she looked at the book she thrown at him "it is a book" she then sighed, trying to calm her nerves down as she placed her hands into her pockets.

Grunting, Adlei attempted to ease Elliot into Feyd's arms, though she practically dropped her companion on the actor. Pausing at the mouth of the hatch, Adlei thought to herself, "Actor, he said... Wait, no. He must mean 'actor,' not 'Actor.'"

Slipping into the hole, she climbed the ladder for a few rungs, then dropped the rest of the way to the floor.

"An actor, is that what you said?" Adlei asked, feeling Elliot's forehead for the familiar cool skin. "Raither...Raither... Have I heard of that name? When did you start acting? Before the Awakening, my family was aristocracy, so they attended the theatre frequently. I was too young at the time."

While she spoke, she also examined the area, looking for windows, fireplaces, doors. If they would have to make an escape, she wanted to be a little familiar with the building. This gentleman seemed trustworthy, but she knew how much Elliot's head was worth these days, and she had to be more cautious.

"I am a man who is always troubled," Dr. Severin said bitterly, a half smile on his lips. He looked over to Grondax and watched him leave, giving a polite nod of acknowledgement before the two could no longer see eachother.

The 'Good' Doctor focussed his attention back on the body of the boy, for surely that was what occupied the slab before him. What he should do was distance himself from any human feelings of disgust, or remorse, ready his tools, change clothing, and set to work. Yet, he still felt the need for a walk, as it was still early on in the morning, no need to work until later on.

Severin opened a cupboard in the corner of the large warehouse, which was beside a desk with various paperwork, and thumbed through a few smaller packages before lifting one and placing it under his arm carefully. It had a neat scrawl across it, that had a date, and several other numbers that might have been the age and weight of the person's remains in the carefully wrapped parcel.

"You, will be my dinner tonight," Dr. Oddssen said tapping the package with a finger on his free hand and smiling to himself. A smile that looked nice on his face, but didn't quite reach those misty blue eyes.

Closing and locking the Warehouse behind him, the doctor started a brisk walk back to the Boneyard, and his home within it, not using a straight trail to reutrn, but rather weaving around and changing direction often to fool anyone that might be watching.
