Grendel.. you rolled a 2!! rofl You have a spot of +2 according to your sheet, so go edit that roll post to say something like "2 + 2 spot modifier = 4 spot check"

I might see if I can get a campaign going in there possibly. Not FR though.. running two FR campaigns at once gets confusing. Though I have done 3 before... domokun
Oh, and no, no spot check re-rolls rofl I've seen the Gaia dice system generate normal rolls plenty of times, so it's just your luck, don't fault RND...
EDIT: Though I will admit, I have now seen 3 crappy rolls in a row...

Short note on forum combat:
I like to use the built in Gaia dice for all rolls in the game, so noone can argue about what the dice said. I generally prefer that players use a post to roll intitiative, then edit that post with thier modifier and final initiative, plus their action. If a player attacks then to-hit roll should their next post, then edit it to add your modifiers and show the final result. I will usually give you creatures AC, so you will know if you hit. If you do hit the next post would be a damage roll, edited to add your modifiers and the final result. (now, attacking with a +5 Holy Flaming Longspear would take a few posts, one for to-hit, one for weap damage, two for the d6s for extra holy and fire damage (to allow for resistance).).
Then I come back, after waiting for the other players to post thier actions and rolls. I post all my rolls and post the results and the current situation. I will track all the data for combats, so don't worry what your initiative was, as long as I've posted the beggining of another turn, you can go ahead post your next action.
I know.. It sounds REALLY complicated.... but it's not really that bad. With me tracking all the data seperately, and recapping every turn. Since the action could fill a page or so between each turn's beginning, the 1st post of the Play Thread contains an action index to take you directly to the last few current situation posts.
If anyone has a wildly better system than this, let me know. One upside of this system is that players end up getting a bit of Gaia cash each turn, especially in combat.
I just posted this here so I can link to it in a future post, but if you didn't read it earlier in this thread, and are unsure about how combat works, now would be a good time to do that. But if you're reading down here, you probably already read it, now didn't you?

just a little side note. Since my monk uses unarmed combat, and I personaly have a small amount of experiance in martial arts (took Tae Kwon Do for a year or two, until I ran out of money and had to quit), I'll probably be a little detailed with what my monk does in combat. Like, I won't just say "I'm going to attack", I'll try to explain what I'm attempting, be it a roundhouse kick, a spinning backfist, or so on.

You guys can be as creative (or not) as you want with you action descriptions. I know I am going to try to be. I am also a student of Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. I am learning a mixed hard/soft form that combines the two styles. I have been studying about 4 years now biggrin I was even in a tournament once. Though I am in the lowest weight-class, I did pretty good.

I figured I'd post what we figured out in our little chat for these guys too.
If you post an attack on a specific target, and a player who's initiative is higher posts after you, killing the target you had specified, we made a little rule to deal with it.. I will decide if there is another target in range for you to direct your attack at and let you know. If there is no other target to attack then the other player was just faster, and got there 1st.

The next turn has been posted. Now we get to see what combat is like 1st hand. Like I said in the post (and all over), just post a 1d20 roll for inintiative, edit it too add your modifiers and give the total, and give your action.
If your action is a ranged attack (you are not close enough to attack in melee yet) then you can go ahead and post your (roll 1d20 again) to-hit roll, edit it to add your mods and the total, plus any descriptive text for your attack. If your roll is high enough to hit (I posted ACs) then go ahead and post again with your damage rolls, edited to add mods and show the total damage, of course, plus any descriptive text for your hit. If your action is a spell then tell me the spell, the save and DC and post any rolls for your spell. Otherwise this 1st round is going to be preparation. You could begin running towards the enemy (at a run you *could* engage an enemy in a charge attack, in that case you would need to post melee rolls), or sneak somewhere, or fall in a fetal poition and cry... or whatever.
Once I have all your initiatives and opening actions I will post rolls for enemy initiatives and opening attacks (if any), and then post the next turn's post, with a summary of all the actions from the previous turn and their results.
