The 'r' sound is just more of a rolled sound. They can't even pronounce 'l' properly, hence the term Engrish. >__> How odd.

yeh, i know.... when i say that, she'll start rolling her tongue like you do for spanish words, which isn't exactly correct either, 'cause she'll hold it out too long.... *sigh* xp

HYDE is pronounced something like "Highed" maybe? (like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and/or hide - conceal or an animal skin) That's how is say it.

It's actually pronounced "hai-do/high-do."

And Raven, yeah, it's hard to describe sometimes. I just know it's more roll-ish because if you listen carefully, it comes out that way. Especially with Cali=Gari [ yes, I know the symbol is incorrect. -_-" ]. Plus, we can't forget that there are separate dialects as well.

Yeah, but I mean, is it meant to go by Japanese pronunciation, or is that just how they pronounce it there, even if they are going for a more american-ish pronunciation. ?

That's an interesting observation. That's just what I was told by someone that likes Hyde a lot more than I do, so I assumed she'd have it right, as we would have "Dir en grey" pronounced correctly. I'd imagine that both work, though. I doubt one would get struck down for using one pronounciation or the other. >_>

-Blind Imagination-
I'm sorry but when people say Kyo as Keeyo that annoys the heel out of me alot more the Diru or Dir en Grey.
Oh my gosh, my friend always does that to me when talking about Fruits Basket this is her, "It's not Kyo, it's Kiyo!" No, it's not...

Clam down. Fine, get annoyed. I spell Dir en Grey like that because I'm just really used to it. But whatever, I'll spell it right just so I can make one of the billions of people in the world satisfied.

Dir en grey.

It's not that pronounced and diffucult, really. Have an actual Japanese fan say it, and they get really close to it just sounding like "Dir en grey"
Dir - not dee-roo.
En - not ahn.
Grey - not a really long eeee at the end.
