...Jonathon was not 15 years. 5 seasons, every season is a year. thats five years. But if you want to get technical only 2 years. Jonathon didn't make the deal with Jor-el and start getting the heart conditions until season 3

He just meant that technically, Jonathan's known about Clark's secret since they found him, so he and Martha knew for the 15 or so years Clark's been in their lives, which is of course longer than the 5 seasons and the 5 teenage years of Clark we've been watching. So instead of Jonathan knowing for only 5 years like Chloe said, he's known for way longer, just not really in the realms of real life since the show isn't that long.
And yes thank you Chloe, I know major stars like Pete never died, with the exception of Jonathan. Although Lana kinda died lol... Anywho, I was just saying that maybe the writers didn't feel like killing off Maddie's dad, that's all.

Of course they could have. Technically, they could do almost anything. The point is, as I've already mentioned, is that they didn't let Maddie's dad see Clark's powers and/or kill him off (which was what the topic was before the little "how long has Jonathan known" debate).

no they didn't. But usually when they show someone Clark's powers, they either kill off the person, or send them to Belle Reeve
