He nodded softly. This story, it reminded him so much of what had happened to him. He hadn't meant to do it. It had happened in a rush of emotion that he couldn't remember.
Michael stoof up and moved over to Rei, kneeling and looking at where his head was in his arms. He put his hand on Reiku's shoulder comfortingly. "Reiku, no one can come between you and me, okay. The only people who can do that are the two of us. We are the only ones who can change our relationship. I won't let anything happen to us, okay, but I need you to do the same. We can be together forever. No one from the outside will come between us."
He rubbed the boy's shoulder and placed the other hand on the other shoulder. "Come on now, you're not alone. We've both lost someone and we've both killed over it, but we both didn't mean to. We're kindrid spirits. It was fate that we met. Come now, let me feel you again. I want us to hold each other again, like we did only a couple hours ago."

Reiku couldn't stop crying, even as he threw his arms around Michael's neck.
"You don't understand!" he wailed. "I loved him and I hurt. I didn't just love him, I was in love with him, and I killed someone he loved. I tried to kill him, before I snapped out of it. My-kun I don't want to hurt you too, but I don't want you to go."
He pulled away slightly, feeling horrible for his selfishness. This was exactly why he didn't associate with people. He shook his head slowly, his confusion more than obvious.
"Why, My-kun. Why do you want to be with me? I'm just some messed up kid. What happened back in my room...that was how it always started. I'm scared."

It's hard to change, but possible. I know you are a great person and I'm confident that such a thing won't happen again. It's brought on by stress. I know that, and you can come to me when you're feeling stressed and I'll calm you down, okay?"

Reiku couldn't believe what he was hearing. it couldn't be that simple, could it? He just accepted him? Just like that? he blinked, unsure how to respond. he buried his face in the other boy's neck, clinging, getting as close as he possibly could.
"My-kun! Oh, why couldn't we have met sooner? then maybe neither one of us would be here."
the pain in his head had receded to a dull thump, and with it reiku felt his anxiety abating. He pressed a kiss to Michael's cheek, blushing slightly.
"I lo---I really like you to, My-kun." He couldn't say he loved him. Not yet. But he would, and hopefully soon.

Reiku sat back on his heels, withdrawing his left hand to scrub the back of it across his reddened eyes. His right arm remained draped over Michael's shoulder, the soft brown hair brushing lightly across his arm, tickling. Reiku didn't want t break contact for even a second, fearing that the instant he did the spell would be broken. Michael would come to his senses and wash his hands of the head case he found himself suddenly saddled with.
"That's beautiful, My-kun. poetic, even." He sniffed, giving the boy a shaky smile. "Did you ever consider writing that down?"
He leaned forward, almost bowing but not quite, pressing his forehead against Michael's chest. the hand he had used to wipe his eyes was pressed firmly against Michael's chest, and Reiku focused on the nails of that hand. He needed something to focus on as he spoke his next word, feeling his cheeks heat at just the thought of it.
"My-kun...Would you mind....sayng that again? How you feel, I mean....I mean, I know i haven't said it back yet but...I really like hearing you say it."
Love. it was just a word. So simple, just one syllable. So why couldn't Reiku say it to Michael?

Yes. He believed. And as he heard Reiku's words again he smiled contently. "Yes, of course I will say it as many times. Every day, every night, until the end of time. I love you."

Reiku lifted his head with a smile. Funny...this time when Michael said it... he believed him. He only wished he could return the words. but that was too much. Somehting inside him would not loosen the hold on that particular phrase.
Well, just because he couldn't utter the words did not mean he couldn't share the sentament. Lunging forward, he tackled the ususpecting Michael backward onto the floor. Laying atop the taller boy, he pressed his mouth to the other's.

He was quite taken. As he fell his eyes were as wide as dinner plates, but as the feeling sank in, he closed them. He reveled in the feeling of unity that was existant between their two mouths. He hugged around Reiku's waste, and rubbing his back softly.

Reiku reluctantly broke the kiss, pulling away slightly to look down on MIchael. he smiled at him, running his fingers along the boy's brow, brushing back his shaggy brown tresses. He laughed then, ducking his head almost shyly.
"You know.....I don't think I've spoken so much at once in all my time here in Matrimony. And I know it's the happiest I've felt. Arigato, My-kun. " He pressed another quick kiss to Michael's lips before exhaling heavily, resting his cheek against the boy's chest.
"You know what would be awesome? If we were married." He blushed, realizing Michael might not understand what he meant. "I mean, you know, the collars. If they were mates, ne? Then we could just run off together. Away from here, I bet we could find someway to get these collars off .

He smiled at the long kiss. When Rei thanked him, he could only say, "Dou itashimashite," and nod. When Rei mentioned marriage, Michael nearly jumped out of his skin. "He can't say 'I love you' and he's talking about marriage?" But when he clarified, he finaly understood. Once Rei finished he looked a little concerned. "Now now, Rei-kun, don't go talking about things that could get us killed, okay? Really, talk like that could get us a thousand volts or worse."

Reiku frowned, but nodded. He was right. Of course he was right. Just talking about it was enough to get a mild jolt at the very least, should the wrong person hear.
"I know, My-kun. You're right. Gomenesai, I shouldn't talk that way." He climbed off Michael's chest, allowing the boy to finally rise off the floor. "Still... I can't help how I feel, and that's how I feel. I hate it here."

He nodded as he got up. "I know, I know, it's okay. We just have to make the best of it, okay? That's all we can really do. Just don't give 'em an excuse to keep us here."
He grinned as he stood up fully. "So, what do we do now? You wanna... Gosh... what do we do? We've kinda got some free time."

Bowing his head suddenly, Reiku's hair swept forward to obscure his flushed face as he thought of how he'd like to answer Michael's question. Climbing to his feet Reiku twisted his lips in thought.
"Hmmm... I dunno. I've told you I'm not really the social guy, it's hard to think of how to keep you entertained. I can't even introduce you....oi, that's not true. I do know someone I can introduce you to. Are you up for meeting a friend of mine? Just gimmme a second to go wash my ace, ne?"
Reiku ran off to Michael's bathroom to do just that. When he returned he looked a lot better, though his eyes were still red. he smiled at Michael.
"So what do you say, My-kun?"

He nodded. "Sure, that's sounds great. I would like to meet more people here. I'm sure that there are some outside you and me that are hospitable and likable." He grinned. "Can't be by ourselves for the next two years of our life."
