Yuusuke's hand involuntarily shot up to his neck as he began to sit down. "Kuso da yo!" he shouted, cringing, as the headmaster beckoned for silence.
He looked around quickly, making sure no-one had heard him shout; but everyone was still reeling just as he was, though he was trying his hardest to tough it out.
He glanced at Kimiko, dropped the act, and whispered to her "You'd better sit down, ne? Before she decides to start singling people out."
Just as he uttered this last line, the headmistress called up one set of names, followed shortly by another. He watched as out of each set, one person would fall, and the other would remain standing.
It wasn't the deaths that bothered him - he had become numbed to the experience; after all, he was here for being a murderer, regardless of whether he did it or not.
"That cruel b***h!" he whispered, perhaps a little too loudly. "At least let them die with some dignity! The mates did nothing wrong, let them die in peace!"
He lowered his head, unable to watch much more. He shook his head slowly. "Great...with these ******** linked collars, staying off of the radar could be harder than I thought."

Sydnie shook his head. "I didn't! I-I...I don't want to Di-" His eyes bulged as he felt the needles react to the signal he hadn't even heard come on. His hands went to the collar as he fruitlessly tried to pull it away. His eyes seemed to stare at the crowd of students. Slumping to his knees he tried to talk, tried to say anything, but his voice was gone, the needles already through everything critical. A small trickle of blood made its way down his chin. He could feel the strength leave his body...he didn't want to die...he hadn't even...lived....
Eyes scanning the crowd they caught sight of a small boy. One with blonde hair and a fresh bruise. Those eyes stayed on him, pleading with him, almost as if wanting him to live...to live where Sydnie couldn't. Eyes freezing, his upper body fell backwards with heavy weight to lay motionless on the stage, his soul gone, pain no more.

Angel's eyes grew wide. The boy. He was struggling for life. And as much as he wanted to look away....he couldn't bring himself to do it....the eyes that were frantic, that were scared and pleading....they met his. Why did they meet his ? He didn't even know the boy! Shaking with fear Angel held his hands close to his chest, the boy's eyes almost sent the message. Live. What did that mean? Why was he staring - the body fell backwards and a soft cry worked its way out, finally the tears overflowing again. This was pretty much the first death he had witnessed...the first one...and it looked at him...he...shaking his head he just couldn't take it. Quickly turning to Michale, forgetting about their earlier encounter, he buried his face in his chest, wanting to hide from it all. He didn't belong here, didn't deserve to be seeing this. What was going to happen to him....would someone running or doing something make him die? He didn't want to die....his small form shook with the intensity of the fear and the overwhelming emotions that welled up inside him.

Cyndir clung to Sanzo, still not looking up to the stage. It didn't seem real, Sydnie couldn't be gone...He was always the one that made light of even the gravest situation...But how could he make a joke of this? No...Sydnie wouldn't be making anymore jokes...It was too much for the red head, and he couldn't stop the tears. He shook his head against Sanzo's chest, in denial. He heard Sydnie hit the ground and he seemed to shrink away from the sound.
"Sanzo...it's...not....fair..."
Michale watched first the girl...He didn't know either of them. It was when the boy with the long hair turned and looked at Angel that he felt something shift in his heart. His eyes went wide. He tried to find it, define it, push it out into the open...Where had he seen that expression before?
There was a splash of red...and a scream...
"Michale! Run!"
He felt someone throw themselves against him, and he blinked, snapped out of his momentary trance before he could trace that scream to its source. He looked down to see Angel buried against his chest, sobbing. He too, forgot their fight, and wrapped his arms around the boy. He couldn't explain why...but he felt needed...It was why he kept Angel around. He didn't...refused to believe that he needed Angel. But Angel needed him. And so, he embraced the boy and pulled him close. It was simple enough for Angel to fit in his lap.
"Angel..."

Angel shook still, sobs muffled by the material of Michale's shirt. "No. I don't...I don't wanna see...I don't wanna be here....I don't..." he continued shaking his head, his hands holding a death grip on the shirt, knuckles white with strain, the small head pushing as hard as i could against Michale's chest, trying to encase himself or hide from everything else. "Don't...don't wanna...don't let me go...don't let me get hurt...i don't wanna die..." He hadn't been so scared in his entire life, the thoughts of losing everything to a simple collar made every part of him quake, the terror almost blinding and the fact that he couldn't get out straight sentances only proved it further

Kimi nodded wordlessly and shoved her books into her backpack, and stood. The security guards glared at the her again, and she climbed into the empty seat beside Yuusuke. She looked up to the girl on the stage, her expression impassive, but her eyes moist. She turned to Yuusuke. She forgot, he had probably never seen an expulsion before.
"Like I said...Welcome to Matrimony..." she turned away. "I knew the boy, Sydnie...."
She looked down. "He was always having fun....Looks like he won't be having fun here anymore." She shook her head, and sighed. "Just pray to whatever diety you might worship that you aren't linked with a trouble maker...."
Nyas shook her head, and grit her teeth, not believing what she was seeing right in front of her eyes. These people really killed innocent students? How could they get away with it? Her fists clenched, once more purely and completely revolted by those people who you were supposed to put your faith in to uphold the law, to do what was right. She looked at Miko.
"Did you know either of them?" she asked.

Yuusuke frowned, looking over at Kimi. He was visibly shaken, his eyes red and large with rage.
"How could you be so blind, Kimiko-san?" he said, under his breath. "If this bullshit is allowed to go on, if innocent people can be killed because of some god damned hentai's idea of linking the good kids with the trouble makers, if this school can even exist..."
He nearly shouted the last word, and he forced himself to trail off, before taking a deep breath and calming his voice once more.
He took a look around to make sure no-one was listening.
"There must not be a god."

Kimiko turned towards Yuusuke, her eyes narrowed.
"Don't you think I know that, baka?" she hissed, with an uncharacteristic display of emotion. She bit the corner of her lip, and forced herself to calm down. She could feel tears stinging the back of her eyes. "You think I like to sit here and watch this go on? To know I am just as helpless to stop this as I was to stop them from taking away my --" she clamped her jaw shut and shook her head. She hated watching these...these public executions. It made her wonder how people could gather around guillotines in the European nations and watch beheadings for entertainment. She took a deep breath, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.
"The pairing is random...only the Headmistress and the Dean know who each collar's mate is. I don't know how this place can exist...But it does..." she tapped the collar round Yuusuke's neck. "You're wearing your proof."

Sanzo closed his eyes as Sydnie jerked from the chair to the stage. When he heard the thud of his body fully fall, and the cry from his pierced throat, Sanzo shook in fear. He couldn't believe how violent the action was each time he saw an expulsion.
"I know Cyn-kun....I know....I really wish it was fair...." Sanzo kissed the top of Cyndir''s head between his words. He knew all to well how unfair life can be. And when you fight back....that's how you end up here. Tears began to flow from his hazel eyes, fogging his glasses as he held Cyndir as tight as he could.

Yuusuke flinched unnoticably when he was called a baka. He wasn't a baka. Here this girl was, contradicting herself, first saying to pray, then agreeing that there was no god...
How the hell am I the baka?
He was still shaking, and only half-listening to Kimi, when he felt her tap on his collar. His hand shot up from his lap, grabbing her wrist tightly. He turned to her and glared at her, tightening his grip on her hand.
"Kimiko-san, I like you," he said, calmly, but clearly, enunciating every word. "You're a good person, and you're the most intelligent person I've met since I got here. But I swear to you, if you EVER touch me like that again," he paused.
He would what? Even he didn't know. In fact, he wasn't sure he would do much of anything - he had said it before, to Jezz, and Jezz had used the collar against him, and the point was very clear.
"Never mind. Just...don't touch me like that again, onegaishimasu," he said, dropping her hand from his grip.
Yep, Jezz had made her point. And she was right.
He was helpless.
Everyone in this school, unless they were staff was helpless.
And it was all thanks to the collars. They were, in reality, the only thing that separated them from the rest of the free world.

Ajiro stood up as the 2 names were called and he saw the lights blink on in the crowd. "Holy s**t! She's hitting random people now! Someone has to take her out."
He bolted into the aisle and down to the stage leaping upward, his foot catching the edge of the stage, and landing face first on the wooden floor. He glared at the the womans green shoes as she stalked towars him, heels clicking against the hard wood.
's**t....you really did it now.....you know,....you just commited ******** suicide....' Ajiro thought to himself as the clicking closed in on him. "******** idiot" he murmmered before he spit a some blood out of his mouth onto the fresh wax.

Kimi flinched, freezing on the spot as he took hold of her wrist. Her eyes widened ever so slightly. She only half-heard what he was saying, but she nodded, a frantic look in her eyes. She forced down the panic as he released her wrist, and folded her hands sedately in her lap, trying to force back the memories. But there was no window here....no balcony...She took a deep breath.
"Gomennasai..." she said softly, looking down at her hands.
She could have kicked herself on the spot for reacting the way she did. But it seemed Yuusuke hadn't noticed, so she took another deep breath and pushed a wayward strand of hair behind her ear.

As Sachiko's head pressed against his shoulder, Ariko looked downward towards their hands locked together. This was exactly how we wanted Sachiko to sit with him, but the occassion crushed any chance of happiness from it.
"Why does it always have to be like this Sachiko.....I'm tired of watching people die.....I've seen it too many times already....."
If he could have wished for the two of them to disappear, he would have after the initial shock.

Renji stared....just...stared. His had seen Sydnie's face, seen his long, pretty braids fan about his head as he tumbled from the chair. He'd always liked those braids, he'd been so jealous of them. As he unconsciously flexed his hand he could almost feel them wrapped around his palm.
A half hysterical giggle escaped the biy. This wasn't real. It couldn't be. He was in his bed, having a nightmare. He hadn't gotten out of bed yett. This wasn't happening... it wasn't happening!
Miko nodded, bawling uncontrollably.
"Syd---Syd---Du---Du---" She couldn't get speak. This was awful! The worst thig she had ever seen. She couldn't stand it. She buried her face in Nyas' chest. She just wanted it all to go away.

Otama's brow's had slanted slightly in amusement as as she saw a boy running up the aisle. She had no idea who he was. Jun would know, with that photographic memory of hers. Otamam possessed no such skill. When he tripped on the edge of the stage she nearly lauhed. Instead she walked toward him, stepping over Sydnie, then inari, remote in hand.
"Really, now, young man, what did you hope to accomplish with such a foolish act. That weary of school life are you? Then by all means, allow me to give yo the dismissal you so desire, ne?" She rattled out the code that activated Ajiro's collar.
"Congratulations! You've just killed two more students. Do you feel like you've truly accomplished something. " She smiled coldly as her eyes locked on the flashing red light at the center of the boy's collar.
"You know, if you are this stupid, I doubt you ever would have graduated anyway. You would have never become a productive member of society, nor a shining example of Midori Kaizen. You would have been better off in.... in... Rouka. Baka, the world is much better place without your stupidity to gum up the works. Hurry up and die, onegai."
