Aerin laughed again. "i've never been very good at calling names. I'm better at pet names...Stri-stri." he giggled.
Aerin look surprised, but not overly so. So that's why she'd wanted him to be careful. Aerin slowly passed the bag to Astrid, and placed a pale white hand over the bag. "I still sense it, hm. Just a little stressed, no worries." Aerin smiled to himself. "I think you and Trela might get along rather well. If you like more than just garter snakes, since she's a nahzeetial."
Aerin hmmed, and put a finger to his chin. "Do you have any questions on stuff? I can answer a few before I head back to the infirmary, stri-stri~"

Surprised, Astrid almost didn't know what to say to being given a 'pet' name. She had never had one, certainly not at home. She'd only ever been just called her name. Astrid. To have Aerin give her a new name that wasn't something intending to insult her was something she hadn't quite experienced before. Yet, she found it funny, and went right with it.
She smiled genuinely. "I had to slip him in there for the train ride. I knew somebody would have a fit" ( probably some fat old rich lady, she thought ) "and might get me kicked off. I found him in a drain pipe at home." She had no idea why she was telling all of this to Aerin, but somehow she just...was. "Old Man Marter wanted to hack him up, but I broke his big toe and got away with Hod." And Dad was so pissed.
Astrid thought she vaguely knew the word 'nahzeetial,' but she wasn't sure. She had heard it before, she knew, but usually it was one of those things adults at home didn't like to talk about. Which Astrid found boring as hell, really.
"I love snakes. Hod's my friend," Astrid added, slowly unzipping the top of the bag to give Hod some fresh air.
The garter snake took his time, not liking the bag, but trusting its darkness moreso than the new light. Slowly he flicked his tongue out, rapidly ( he was probably irritated by the ride ) and poked his head out.
Looking thoughtful as she let Hod inspect her arm, Astrid chewed her lip. "I don't have any important questions, probably. But...my parents and my big sister just kind of sent me here. I guess I'll have to do homework now and all." That sucks. "So we probably find out about when to start school and all of that through some papers or something?"
She blinked, slipping a letter colored like fire out of Hod's bag. Miraculously, it wasn't crumpled at all. "Or is all of that in here?" Astrid asked, tilting her head. Hod had begun to slighter carefully up her arm, inpsecting his new surroundings.

"aww, a drain pipe? How sad. Snakeys are so cute, and so undervalued, except in nahzeetial culture."
He nodded, and looked sad. "Yea. Snakes get hocked up a lot, it's truuuee suckitude."
Aerin squealed softly when he saw Hod. He slowly reached out a hand, slipping feelings of warmth and comfort through his fingers.
Aerin looked up at Astrid. "Homework won't be around for a while. Classes are still being set up, students are still arriving. You get free time for a long while, and when classes DO roll around, you get to do homework in your head, stri-stri!" Aerin softly tapped a claw against her forehead. "Feeds make everything simpler."
Aerin straightened up, and continued postulating outloud. "There aren't many papers here. You'll get your classes sent to you by feed, and you can get a map from one of the staff, if you get lost or just want to explore, luv."

Astrid narrowed her eyes, plainly aware that, at least where she had come from, snakes were much more likely to be stew than to be anything else. It was easy to tell that she didn't very much agree with that point of view.
Astrid was very pleased with both Hod's reaction to Aerin and vice versa. Hod appeared to like Aerin right away ( now that's weird, he's so picky, she thought to herself ), and got to know him by 'smelling' him. Hod looked like he was very interested in the new person.
"Homework in my head?" Astrid echoed, blinking. The thought was so great, she almost thanked Aerin on the spot. Homework in my head. I'll bet I can do just about anything with my head now.
The mention of a map sent a wide grin across her face. Normally, she'd have to figure out the layout on her own when it came to exploring. She'd drawn many makeshift maps herself, although she didn't need them to remember where to go. It was more for fun than anything else. But to be handed a map, that was brilliant. "I'll have to get a map. I want to look around as soon as I unpack all this stuff."
She spared a glance at the bags, being pretty sure she had no more questions; then at Hod, who looked very content and much more cheerful now. He was boldly going where no garter snake had gone before : Aerin's arm. Then, something else caught his eye, and he was off back on Astrid, going up into her hair and fairly curling half of himself on her head. "Hey you," Astrid mumbled, poking his side good-naturedly. "Watch where you're slithering."

Aerin smiled secretively, and pinged Astrid with his feed, with a small yet neat map of the grounds, and everything in it. Aerin thought it was immesurably cute that Hod liked to stay in Astrid's hair.
"Medusa, are we?" he laughed, and then pointed to her dorm with his thumb. "Stri-stri, if you need anything, just send out a general beacon to me or to RA. RA can change anything in your room. You could make it look like you're actually in space, if you so pleased. You can rearrange, destroy, manipulate, burn or whatever to anything in your half of the room. There's not much RA can't willingly repair."
Aerin blinked, and then blushed profusely. "I'm so sorry sweetie, but I've gotta dash! Clerise needs me!" Aerin then, in his three inch heels and micro miniskirt with pinstripe stockings underneath, dashed off to his infirmary...

Astrid watched him dash off, slowly relishing the new version of the map she'd just been sent. And the rules! She could hardly believe everything Aerin had just said to her before hurrying off down the hall. She could make her room like like space? She could burn things?
Throwing her hands up into the air and letting them drop to her sides, she shook her head, a look of pure, wild disbelief on her face. The expression twisted into a grin as she lugged her bags to the door, letting Hod use her head as a lookout.
...This was going to be so beyond cool.

[ Avenine pov ]
Avenine bustled about his kitchen, mixing this and stirring that. He was preparing Lineslieth's dinner as per usual, but kept checking his internal clock. It was time!
The little sprite fluttered out, passing down the space where the lifts were and soared out the front door and waited, perched on the gate tops. Avenine hummed to himself, counting measures luxuriously as he waited for a little bee boy, whom he would insist on feeding sweets, though Avenine did that to most children there.

[Hiroshi pov]
A little boy came towards the gates at an incredibly fast speed. Once he saw the top of his new school, he doubled his pace. His normal clothes were pushing against him, moving with the flow of the wind. It would have been much easier if the current was flowing with him. He could go even faster. A bag was slung over his shoulder, clutching for dear life. If it fell off while he was speeding, then god knew what would happen. . A smile brightened his face when he stopped in front of another person. He waved happily before speaking. He had halted quickly, and put his feet out so he could stop a little better. Though it was a little useless, considering one tiny factor:
He was flying a little over a foot above the ground.
"Hi I'm Hiro!~"

Avenine laughed, and fluttered over and above the boy as he attempted to come to a stop.
"Why hello there!" he exclaimed warmly, and snagged his coat's puff and dragged him about till he slowed down enough. "Goodness child! You sure can work up a huff.
"You must be Hiro?" he asked, and poked his forehead.

"Yepyep!"
He nodded happily when he had finally slowed down enough. It was really good to see someone else who could fly and had wings. They weren't the same as his of course, but they were wings just the same. It was a rare occurance to see someone like that. His arms moved a little when his fluff was grabbed. When his collar was set free, he patted it a little to move it back into place.
"You a teacher?"

Avenine laughed. He flapped his own wings, silvery sheen reflecting in the light.
"Well, not really a teacher, no." He smiles, and winks at Hiro mischeviously. I'm the chef!" he states proudly. "Though I will teach the cooking classes once it gets going."

Hiro slowly came down to the ground. He moved his wings without realizing it. When he'd first gotten them, it was hard, even a little painful to move them. But now, it seemed natural. He moved his bag off of his shoulder and into his hand, and began swinging it.
At the mention of food, his stomach gave a small growl. He looked up and smiled.
"So you know where I can get food?"

Avenine laughed. "of course, you silly thing. What good would I be otherwise?" Avenine started floating over the gate, but stopped and turned around. "Do you have a feed, darling?" He hovered about, questioningly.

Hiro tilted his head to the side. With a few seconds of thought, a tiny lightbulb finally managed to go off in his head. He smiled and swung the bag a little more. Soon it would go in a full circle.
"You must mean the weird thing they put in my head!~ I don't really know what it does though, but it felt kinda weird after they put it in."

Avenine nearly died. This was the cutest child ever.
He nods. "Yup! That's it little guy. Just send the numbers 'zero one one' at me, at these gates, and BAM!" he gesticulates wildly with his hands, and does a backflip in midair because of it, "They open!"
