*Lt. Flibble accepts the hand and slowly shakes it*thankyou, and I will help you in anyway with your problem*Lt. Flibble says. The Lieutenant pulls out his pocket computer and shows the doctor a map of the estate, on the map there are two black dots with white H's on them, there is also a red dot with the leter O in green on it, there are also six purple dots with a U on each of them*the H's represent humans in this building, on this floor. The O's represent others in this building, on this floor, and the U's represent unknown DNA on this floor.*the Lt explains. He then points to a marking on the same floor as the rest of the group*this line represents me and any other Piegun on this floor*the lieutenant explains*we can use it to track the EDE's*he says*

"I don't think we should stick around here much longer, Doctor. If that bird's right, there's six potentially hostile organisms lurking about, and I'm not looking forward to facing some strange bug-eyed monsters completely unarmed! Let's get the hell out of here!"

The Doctor nodded. "Probably right." He stood up. "Right, we'll head to the TARDIS and plan our next move, although I think I do have something brewing in my head." He lead the way to the old-fashiond blue police box and unlocked it.

((Wow, I'm surprised anybody remembers Frobisher from the DWM comic strips. I didn't think he'd still be around after all these years.))

((I didn't realise the penguin was an actual Doctor Who creature - though I never read the comics I'll admit. Where did they come from/what did they do?))

As soon as they were back in the safety of the TARDIS Rose felt a rush of sudden high-spirits. There was something so comforting about the old blue box. The fears about her family washed away. Words began bubbling out of her.

"What are you going to do Doctor? We can beat them, can't we? As long as we get that old book first... And the TARDIS can beat anyone to anywhere. We can just jump across to the Tower and get it... right?"

"We should." He looked grim as he began setting the co-ordinates. "But time is literally against us. The longer the situation is the way it is, the worse it'll get. In fact they may already have the complete volume as it is." He pointed to a drawer over to one side of the room. "Captain, look in that top drawer. There should be a bag with at least a few more black crystals."

The Doctor's face became pained at hearing Fibble's words. "It is the last...as am I. I am the last of my race...the only survivor. Sometimes, I wish I'd died with them."

((Actually, Frobisher was a shape-changer that just liked to walk around as a penguin; our dear Lt. Flibble is an entirely different creature! There's a wikipedia article here.))

Nate went and rummaged through the drawer the Doctor had indicated, searching for the bag with the black crystals. While pushing the items around, he came upon a leather-bound book. It's cover read: 900 Year Diary. Glancing behind his shoulder, he saw that the Doctor had suddenly become sullen after being reminded of the destruction of his race. The knowledge contained in this diary could benefit humanity in ways undreamt of, Nate thought to himself. After a brief moment of self-doubt, he tucked the book away as best he could under his long coat.

"Found it, Doctor." Nate called out. He placed the bag of crystals on the TARDIS console. "Remarkable thing, this blue box of yours... I suppose I couldn't even begin to fathom the science behind the impossibility of the size of this room relative to its external appearance. Simply amazing..."

Still gloomy he turned to face Nate. "Dimensionaly Trancendental. The bigger location is kept far enough away to fit in the smaller one, while being kept close enough to not have a large gap to have to cross." He turned back to the console, his face going past Rose, and he closed his eyes as he felt the beginning of tears start to well up in his eyes. Meanwhile, his hands flew over the console with memorized speed and dexterity.

Moments later, the TARDIS rematerialized at the Tower of London. Nate, the first to emerge from the doors, was stunned by the sight before him. "Doctor, we're too late! They've beaten us here!" Before them was an incredible scene of carnage. Twisted and mangled bodies of UNIT soldiers and Yeomen Warders lay strewn about the courtyard. A battle had been fought here very recently, and evil prevailed.

"Maybe we're lucky and they just came to fetch the Crown Jewels," Nate said sardonically.

*LF walks out the TARDIS and sees the mangled bodies everywere*OH MY ZARQUON!!*LF yells, he takes a step backwards, his beak open, he freeezes in one possision staring at the bodies and blood*

Picking his way through the bodies, Nate retrieved an assault rifle and some ammunition. Feeling a bit more secure now that he was armed again, he returned to the Doctor and asked, "What's so special about that black glass that it hurts those creatures? And why have they kidnapped Ms. Tyler's mother?"

"As for the kidnapping, probably to attempt to 'convert' new followers. The crystals are all that's left of their technology. But after all the time the fragments spent in alien soil altered the chemical structure to equal something like acid to them. Where would be an ideal spot for their cerimonie to occur Captian?"

"Hmm. 'fraid I don't know. Not quite the expert you are, Doctor. Someplace traditionally ascribed to the occult, perhaps? Like Stonehenge or..." his voice trailed off. "Doctor, now that we're here, maybe we should check out the base underground. There could be some clues left behind. Though there could also still be some of those creatures lurking about. Lt. Flibble, are you detecting any hostile lifeforms with your scanning device?"

*the lieutenant pulls out the portable computer* I'm detecting several lifeforms on this floor alone*he says, he pulls out his deatimizer 6610i series and he turns around*nearly all of which are behind that door*he says pointing to a door, which has been nearly completely blocked by decapetated bodies*
