Neko rolled her eyes.
"Of course it's a letter." Neko murmured, opening it.

A knive in a black sheath was also among the letter. She put down the letter, and pulled the blade out from its sheath. She frowned when she saw the metal it was made of.

He saw the look in her face. "What is it, Neko?" He picked up the letter to read it. "Who is this from?"

"A sliver dagger." Neko murmured, frowning. "Of course Mom would send me this. It's pretty much useless though." She looked at Asmodai. "Hmm, what? Oh, Kitsune is my mom. That's what she calls herself anyway. I know, it's weird." She deIllusioned one of her knife holsters and clipped the new one onto it, placing the spell back on when she was done.

"Silver tarnishes over time." Neko said. "Once it changes to sliver oxide, it's not harmful to Lycans, or at least not as harmful as pure silver. And precious metals are usually weak." She looked at her nails, sharp as claws. "And if I'm attacked by a Lycan, I can handle it without silver."

He shrugged. "I'm sure she meant well. And you should never underestimate your enemy. You can pretend to be underestimating during a fight in order to catch them off their guard, but you must always understand that each fight might be your last."
He paused. "Of course you are no novice to a fight. You know this already..."

"Most people don't want to fihgt with me, nor I with them." Neko said, putting the letter back into it envelope. She put it in a book shelf where she had other such letter from her parents. "And the ones who do want to fight me, well, I deal with that then."

She sighed as he kissed her neck, leaning against him. She put her arms around his neck and put her ear rihgt ove rhis heart, listening to it beat.

She blushed agianst his shoulder at his comment, finding a bit romantic for her tastes.
"How I came to New York?" Neko asked, confirming the question. "It was a tradition in my family for the children to travel, to see the world. Mt oldest sister, Kyoko, came here some seven years ago. She was killed by a hunter after a week's stay. After that, all my other siblings came here to avenge her death, but they all died in one way or another until it was just Ashely, the second youngest, and me, the youngest. She was killed five yaers ago, in the graveyard. After that, m parents trained me to avenge my siblings, and they sent me here after my seventeenth birthday." She sighed, depressed from the memoires the story recalled. "And I've been here ever since."
