Every second at this point felt like an eternity, as the Champion's back was bent in a way that it really shouldn't be. Shooting pains ran from the top to the bottom of Avari's spine, leaving him in major distress.
Drako sat down on him, forcing him lower, increasing the curvature of the submission.
Avari cried out and almost shoved the ref away when he asked if he wanted to submit.. instead, he attempted the horrible, torturous, crawl towards the bottom ropes.

Drako isn't intending to make the journey easy on Avari as he keeps his full weight on his back, his attempt at stopping or at least slowing the champion. If the champ can reach the ropes, he's going to work for it. If not, well, he can always tap, right?

Avari continued to push, but this was a struggle, and a huge pain that was increasing. He was close, so close, fingertips away.. he reached out to grab the bottom rope!

the crowd cheers when the champion reaches the ropes. Clearly the match will continue.
Drako releases the hold and takes a step back. Clearly, he'd done quite a bit of damage, but it remained to be seen how much. Time to test that, as he waits for Avari to stand to aim to take his head off with a superkick

Avari shakes his head and tries to regather his thoughts, as the pain suddenly eases off. He reached the ropes, that was the hard part, next was to stand up.
As he stood up, a boot came flying towards his head!
With quick thinking he ducked and rolled under the bottom rope, hopefully to safety.. surely out here he would be safe.

Drako didn't get the pleasure of kicking the champion's head off his shoulders as he ducks under the bottom rope. Seems like Avari might have forgotten who he was dealing with, if he thought he was safe out there. Grabbing the top rope, the Soaring Dragon pulls the rope down slightly and launches himself over the top after Avari, aiming to take him down with a plancha outside

Just as he thought he was safe, Fusion looked up to see the Dragon soaring through the sky again.
Trying to dodge wasn't an option, so Avari put his arms up to soak up some of the damage, as he was crashed into hard on the outside. Both men fell to the ground in a heap!

Drako has once again knocked the air out of himself with his high risk offense, but it was necessary. There's a cost to pay to be the champ and he's willing to pay it.
He rolls to the side to get back to his feet, at this point willing to take a little more advantage on the outside. He goes to pull the champion to his feet and over towards the announcer's table, aiming to slam his face against it

The Champ was dragged rather unceremoniously to the announcer's table, right before having his face thrust hard into it. He flinched in dramatic fashion, wincing from the pain and gripping his face instinctively.

the ref's ten count has begun so the challenger only has a brief amount of time to do whatever he's going to do. Borrowing from another fellow St Louis native, Drako attempts to lift Avari up and drop him on the table with a back side suplex

In classic Orton fashion, Avari felt himself lifted up .. then suddenly down.
His body bounced off the table and he slid backwards, rolling towards the commentators, who jumped out of the way just in time.

realizing the ref's ten count is getting kind of high at this point, Drako rolls back into the ring to break the count, then rolls back out again. he can't win the title on a count out after all. Making his way back to the announcer's table, he attempts to pull Avari back up again, though this time the aim is to roll him onto the table

Drako was aware enough to not take the 10-count win, knowing that this wouldn't allow him to take the World Championship.
He came back over and pulled Avari onto the table, groggy and rolling over slightly, landing on his back.
What could Damone be thinking?

Drako has a very distinct plan. Perhaps a form of revenge. He remembered what happened in their first match all too well and he wanted to correct that issue. Climbing back onto the apron, the Soaring Dragon climbs the top rope.
A low rumble of cheers begins as the crowd realizes what's about to happen. Drako isn't facing the table, he's looking out out the crowd.. Once he reaches the top rope, he takes a breath before launching himself up and backwards in another moonsault aimed to send them both crashing through the announcer's table

Epic was the only word to describe Drako in this moment, as the Soaring Dragon magnificently went flying through the air. He was there for what seemed like an eternity, as fans took pictures and videos on their phones.
The commentary team had, wisely, moved away from the table to give the men space for what was about to happen and..
Crash!
The table almost split in half as both men went through it, a huge eruption from the crowd in response!
