After so much excitement for being at the competition. Jezebel in her haste find yourself stumbling over what at first seemed like a rock or stump. She looks up to see a dumb struck Smeargle sitting on the ground.

After coming to; the pokemon look at Jezebel and Cayenne and fled quickly. "I guess it did not want a battle today." Looking down at her Vulpix; "Or it just saw how strong you are and ran off. Isnt that right sugar." The Fiery Vulpix chimed with happiness. "Alright; to the Canyon."


[Still in the Savanah Biome]

The sandy limestone ground begins to shift. Turning from a solid slowly into a liquid. "Wh- What is this? QUICKSAND?!" Panicked she looks around for a tree or branch; SOMETHING to grab onto.

Suddenly she noticed, she stopped sinking around the knees. Looking around heart still racing a short distances away lies a angry Trapinch. "OH SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA! I'm caught in it's arena trap! Vulpix; It's all on you. Time for a fight! Be extra careful! Those ground type moves will do a number if you're hit by any of them!" Vulpix let's out a large growl. Jumping onto Jezebel's head. "Not what i had in mind! But i'll make an expectation."

Cayenne quickly let out a hot spit of Embers scattered around the field. After a quick breath she sent out a few more. "Great, try a will-o-wisp. See if you can't burn it, make it lose focus!"

Jumping high into the area and spewing a ghastly and ominous like fireball toward the Trapinch; quick though the opposing pokemon used dig. Hiding just under the ground the two sat in ear piercing silence. "We can't let it-" before finishing the Trapinch sprung from underground knocking Vulpix off Jezebel's head. "NO! Cayenne!" Struggling to move in the thick sand, while reaching out. Jezebel cried to her partner. "Vulpix! Vulpix! Can you hear me!"

The young fire type seemed down and out. After what felt like an Eternity; the Vulpix struggled to get up on her feet.

"Vupix. You dont have to do this! Quick return to your pokeball." Cayenne glared at Jezebel with rage. Jezebel's face filled with fear, "Vulpix? Are- you okay?" She questioned with tears filling her eyes. Vuplix Nodded with a fierce glare.

Looking at her young pokemon's face; "Do what you must! Don't lose sight!"
Spews of lava drool, smoke, and flames start coming out from it's mouth. Letting out a loud ringing; Flames start to surround it; Cayenne takes off in a sprint.

The Trapinch trying to slow down the Vulpix let's out a massive burst of sand. The winds pick up creating a large sandstorm. Tiny shards of sand collide with the flames engulfing Vulpix. Leaving trails of molten fragments behind her.
Cayenne's speed was gradually increasing, getting faster with every circle. Catching an occasional Jetstream from the winds boosting her speed even more

A few minutes of these two going round after round; the winds fiercely picked up, Several blades of air cut through the sandstorm.
The two pokemon stopped to see what caused the intervention. A forceful tailwind to clear the air of the sandstorm, revealing a Flygon.

Jezebel look on in terror at the third stage pokemon. "It's power is incredible. We- we can't wind this. Vulpix already got hit for that dig, and I'm sure it's exhausted after using Flare Blitz. There's no way that-" Frozen by even more fear and being interrupted, Jezebel's heart and spirit sank further when ANOTHER larger Pokémon joined the fray. Being on the brink of fainting herself; she could a barely make out that it was a Krookodile. Shockingly it ignored Cayenne and herself.

The large powerful pokemon tackled the Flygon by surprise. Launching both a great distant away only to be seen by a large plume of a dust cloud.

"I dont know how much more i can take of this. We havent even made it to the Canyon yet and we're going to die here to this Trapinch and any other pokemon that sees us as their lun-" She's face start to hurt, it's start to hurt more, and instantly burn. Screaming in pain and brushing off her face. Jezebel looks over to see her Vulpix just shot her with a small ember to the face.

"What- Did you- OH MY FACE! IT HURTS SO BADLY." she screamed patting her face. "Okay, i'll give you that one. Let's finish-" Looking around the Trapinch vanished. "It used Dig again! Watch-" the ground opened up in a powerful cataclysm like force. The Trapinch used Earth Power at the same time using dig! "Cayenne! NOOOOOOOOOO!"

Time seemed to have stopped around Jezebel. Everything seemed to darken, her eyes grew heavy. Whether it was from the mental strain of the battle, the dust, or physical exertion. Her heart was pounding, struggling to breath, throat was dry, eyes started to crust over. She could only watch in horror as the trapinch opened it's jaws for a final blow of a crunch.

Helpless to do anything, Jezebel looked away, not baring to see her Vulpix knocked out before even starting. The Trapinch caught ahold of the torse and clamped down. Jezebel's fear was verified. The screeching of her Vulpix scream out; nearly killed her.

From the aftermath of the final blow. The battlefield went silent. Ringing in the ears felt like death itself was the referee for the match; almost like it knew the outcome. Jezebel hurt something through the choking dust; like a body making contact with the ground.

She couldnt bare to look up. Physically she could look up, but emotionally and mentally she could bare to see her Vulpix in such a condition.

From the remaining dust that was settling. Bright rays of light cut through the dust like butter. The number of rays increased, as did the brightness. A silhouette of what really happened was revealed; Trapinch used crunch on a substitute doll; the sound that Jezebel thought was her Vulpix hitting the ground, was the substitute doll vanishing. Further looking upon the blinding light; the scream of Vulpix was it mustering what energy it had left as a final attack of Fire Blast at point blank range directed toward the distracted Trapinch.

The power light from the Fire Blast consumed all that was found it. The true ending to the battle had come to it's fruition.

Vulpix with flames and lava dripping from it's mouth. Walked slowly from the carnage of smoke, dust and flames. Collapsed in front of Jezebel with a gentle smile and weak voiced yiiiiip.

Jezebel could only stare at her Vulpix in her arms. Her eyes again finding the moisture to create waterfalls of happiness. "Oh Cayenne. You brave wreckless, sweet baby." Hold her partner tight pressed against chest. "Just for the record, when you wake up. We're going to have a talk about that fireball to the face earlier." She laughed jokingly.

"That trapinch gave us quite a stir. I dont know what i would do with one. Fate is a funny thing. I'm gonna use a Great ball first."

After some time of wondering through the lower valleys of the Canyons. The two came across a Minccino enjoying it's with a tasty berry.

"Best not to ruin it's lunch. Am i right?" Jezebel reaches into her bag to pull out a roll she made. "This is sweet Beezeel Berry Bread." I hope you enjoy it. Placing it near the pokemon.

She continues down the valley.

[Canyon Biome]

Continuing by the river the pair spot a school of Chinchou playing in the water. Their voices letting out playful sounds.

"Awwww so cute and sweet. That reminds me. I need to come up with some water and electric snakes again." Hmmmmm. she ponders. "Start from scratch? or improve on old recipes?"

Lost deep in thought as they continue into a clearing.

Jezebel and Cayenne were soaking wet after the cheerful goodbyes. "I'm glad you made some new friends. You seemed to be enjoying yourself."

Vulpix chirped back with joy while also jumping up and down.

"I'm glad to hear that.|

Walk up the hill, the overlook had some several trees, brush, bushes, and foliage. One of the trees had a Tyrogue training with a Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and a Himontop. Between them sparing, it seemed like the three evolved pokemon are training the Tyrogue to evolve.

"I dont want to interrupt their training. We better move on."

[Canyon Post]

Looking out of the muddy terrain, Jezebel spots what looks like a Chinchou stuck in pools that is close to drying up.

"Oh no! That poor Chinchou. We must help it get back to the lake. It does look to far away. We do not have alot of time though."

Jezebel quickly get out the blanket used earlier for lunch and soaks up as much water a possible with it. "Chinchou, I'm here to help you. Please dont attack me."
The weakened pokemon looks up with heavy eyes. Than slowly closes them. "I'm picking you up with this water soaked blanket. Hold on just a bit longer."

Rushing toward the lake. She spots the school of Chinchou from earlier. "Hey! We need you to use watergun, waterspout, event raindance. Anything to help your friend here!" She shouted to the school of Chinchou.

Several Chinchou filled the path with water, others soaking Jezebel in the process. Covered in mud and water she pushed on. Finally making it to the water's edge. She opened up the blanket, grabbed the Chinchou and placing it in the water.

Looking at the pale pokemon, slowly float there. The other Chinchou and Lanturn used Nuzzle and spark to help get some energy back into the Chinchou.

After a few minutes the Chinchou started to move. Color slowly coming back into it's face and antenna. Reaching into her bag she pulls out a small snack cake. "Here this will help." Offering the small cake to the water pokemon. It slowly eats the food."

After a minute it starts to swim stronger and more lively. Splashing around and chirping.

Letting out a sigh of relief. "Thank Arceus." Standing up she smiles and starts back toward where they came from. "Take care little one. Try to be more careful in the future."

[Canyon Biome]

Wiping off what dirt and mud she could, Jezebel looks over to see a Minccino walked by. Looking over with puzzled look on it's face, giggles and moves on past.

"Huh, these pokemon are so strange."
