Nanami reacted quickly when she heard the splashes. The kawena had been gazing over the ocean, trying to keep an eye out for the oldest two, but she had been listening to the little ones playing around and immediately heard when Kailani slipped. "Are you both alright?" She asked, slipping down from the rock to splash into the tidepool after Gin Ae and Kailani.
A faint glow surrounded her hands as she looked over both younglings for injuries, a soft sigh of relief leaving her when she realized that they were alright. "I can dry you both off when we get out of the water, once you're finished playing." She offered, the kawena able to pull the water from their clothing and fluff their hair with a warm wind thanks to her magic.

Kailani gave her brother a gentle expression, the youngling shaking her head as she reassured him. "No worries. I slipped." She explained even as their mother came over, the girl nodding that she was alright as she patted Gin Ae's shoulder. "But looks like we picked up a friend!" She teased quietly as she pointed towards the starfish that Gin Ae had grabbed from her shoulder. The last thing she wanted was for her brother to be upset when she had been the one to slip anyways!
"Maybe though we can build a real home on the shore. A sandcastle? We can just pick up a few more things here for it." She asked Gin Ae, her expression curious as she looked between him and her mother. That way they could dry off and bring over whatever they found in the tidepool to use as decorations. It sounded like a good plan to her at least, she just hoped that the others thought so too. The very thought made her cheeks flush lightly as she waited for approval.

Zoicite spotted DeeDee following him and the hybrid flashed his sibling a bright grin. And then as he let go of his turtle and fell back to another one that was next to her, the boy gestured forward. Did they dare try to race with the turtles to see who could use them to swing around the upper isle first and then get back to shore? It would be a fun way to end their current adventure before joining the family, right? He had the feeling that DeeDee would agree and so he simply nodded before holding up a hand, counting down from three fingers, and then jumping to the next turtle as it swam past so that he start moving forward. Eventually he would let go and jump to another turtle that was swimming closer towards shore, but for now he just wanted to ride the wave and see what would happen.

The signal for the race immediately earned a pleased smirk. She was ready for anything! DeeDee looked around to look for a faster turtle. With a target spotted, she swam over and pressed herself against the new turtle's back to be as streamlined as possible. She even kicked her feet to pick up the speed. While she was eager to enjoy the view, she was even more eager to win!

Gin Ae dropped his gaze guiltily as Nanami approached, but still managed to reply with a small nod. He was fine, but he felt bad... Yet, Kailani seemed to be okay, and she apparently wasn't upset with him. That alone helped his smile return when she poked at the starfish. With a small chuckle, he gave the star a stroke and set it gently onto Kailani's shoulder. She should have her friend! He nodded again. "Sandcastle." He managed to give their mother a smile before he squatted down to pluck up a couple stones and a shell for their next project.

"Sandcastles it is." Nanami agreed as even she helped pick a few shells for her children. Once she had finished her haul she held out her hands to help both Kailani and Gin Ae out of the tidepool. "Let's go set up on the shore so that your siblings can find us easily." And then they could have their picnic and enjoy the rest of the evening together, watching the sunset and maybe even sneaking in a final swim before it grew too dark and they had to return to the inn.

Kailani smiled as both her mother and Gin Ae seemed to like her idea. "Let's make a huge one to show off when they return!" She gushed, the youngling talking a bit louder than normal in her excitement as she continued through the tidepool to pick up what she could find before reaching for her mother's hand so that she could step back onto the beach and dry off. Now they just had to build a really impressive sandcastle to show off to Zoicite and DeeDee when they came back.
"Ready when you are!" She grinned at Gin Ae, plucking off some more seaweed from her outfit, and then started forward on the beach so that their building project could begin.

Zoicite let out a laugh, bubbles escaping from his lips as he enjoyed their race. Eventually though he let go of a final seaturtle, the teen waving towards DeeDee and jumping off so that he could start the swim back towards shore. When he emerged to where he was floating in the shallows, Zoicite spotted his family and flashed them a bright grin. He couldn't wait to show them all of the things that they found in the reefs! DeeDee probably had the better haul, but at least he had found some things as well. Zoicite looked back towards his sister, floating up and down as the waves rolled in, and waited there so that he could swim back with her to the shoreline as a final race.
And then they could have the rest of the evening together, maybe even swimming with some paka’kona before sunset! Zoicite's expression brightened at the thought, the hybrid excited to see what else their Kahi adventure had in store for them.

DeeDee grinned with delight, enjoying the feeling of going so fast without actually doing any work. When she noticed her brother veer off from the trail, she reached to pat the turtle's head gently and released her grip on its shell. She twirled away from the current and kicked to catch up to Zoicite.
When she broke through the surface, she let out a fresh laugh and lazily began swimming toward the shore. It had been a nice break from the littles, and she was in no rush to return. However, her stomach was was starting to tell her to hurry instead!

Gin Ae's smile warmed as he took his makuahine's hand. "Okay." Kailani's excitement was infectious, and his smile grew even more. Everything would be alright with his family around. He brushed a little more sand from his face once he was standing and scurried after his sister. Maybe if they could make the sand castle really big, then maybe they could actually impress their older siblings! And surely mother would be impressed as well if she was able to join them later.
