Grace stopped running, she was using the ropes as if she we're going to boot out of them; in reality she was holding herself up because she too wanted bend over and heave for breath. The audience's irritation flipped at the challenge from Ewing, and she knew she had no choice. Refusing it now would hurt the entire match and her reputation.

Resigning herself to the real possibility of losing the match she held one finger up to Ewing and bent down quickly tugging the laces on her boots loose.

"You want me to fight you like a man?"

The sly smirk on Grace's face hinted that she was hiding something. She took off one boot and then the other, she tossed them into the corner. The boots seemed heavy, and despite being tossed casually they both landed upright.

Sstanding up, Grace worked both ankles for a moment. She stretched them and rolled them, while doing a similar routine with her wrists and elbows. Then without any further warning she dashed forward. It took her two steps to close the distance, hopping with the light-footed grace of a gazelle.

"This is how I fight men!"

As she neared Ewing, she twisted her entire body, curling her arm back and down, telegraphing an uppercut; however her momentum spun and kept going as her opposite heel came up in a blurred arc. Grace was a wrestler, a preformer just like her father; but, she was also a seasoned Muai Thai practitioner, and her spinning heel kick came for the side of Ewing's head like a heavyweight boxer's right hook!

Grace was, without a doubt, not to be messed with. She warned Ewing of the oncoming attack with a simple, "This is how I fight men!" It was a swift uppercut, as if a game of Mortal Kombat was playing out in the ring. Here was the problem though: It was no uppercut at all. It was feigned entirely, a kick swiftly shot in quickly instead and jacked up Ewing something unmerciful. She flew off of her feet and slammed down hard on the mat, and to the untrained eye she probably looked to be out cold. She laid on the mat, unmoving, but she was certainly still awake. The pain was so severe, her jaw felt so jacked up, she couldn't simply pass out.

Ewing Winters' entire indy career was built around her intergender escapades -- she defeated many men, was defeated by even more, but never lost to a woman in the few matches she had with them. It was tonight that she finally came across a woman who actually hit her harder than any man ever did. What did that mean, exactly? Was it that Grace had proved to her that women are stronger than she ever gave them credit for...or had an even darker realization come to her mind? Could it be that the men she had shared the ring with hundreds of times prior were always holding back even when it seemed like they weren't?

Questions. It was all just a series of questions with answers that Ewing wasn't prepared to find out about. She fought to hold back tears as her face grew bright red and hot, and she started to slowly rise up on to her arms and knees, the camera man catching the side of her face to reveal a huge mark left behind by Fatsumoto's foot. Her nose was clearly beginning to trickle some blood down on to the mat as well, this damage done to her was serious...but she was not defeated yet, which was as impressive as the move Grace hit her with.

Feeling her heel connect with Ewgin's jaw was pure elation, she honestly hadn't expected the kick to connect. She saw the aftermath, when she glanced down at Ewing. Maybe she should have taken more time to look, but this was her moment. Grace knew if she could land her divebomb moonsault, she'd have the victory. Exhaustion and fatigue hindered her, but removing the protection of her weighted boots meant she would not be able to easily run up the turnbuckle.

Grace pulled herself up, one turnbuckle at a time. With only a slight wobble, she got her balance and stood up facing out to the crowd. In celebration she threw up two enthusiastic thumbs up to the audience, and they exploded. Their pop of the audience rumbling throughout the arena drowned out those who were shouting warnings at Grace.

Behind Grace, Ewing was clearly fighting through pain. Blood flowed down her mouth and she was slightly unsteady, but she was not felled. Grace believing her to still be down, bounced on the ropes and leapt into the air, arms extended in a backflip dive that would end with her landing across Ewing's upper torso; had she remained on the ground. Instead it took her right into...

Ewing had finally worked her way up, fueled by blood, emotion, and the sound of a crowd that was completely prepared for this match to be over. She stood up straight, every one of her muscles bulging as her entire body worked to shoulder the pain her head was in. Grace's taunt was her downfall, more so that the actual backflip she attempted as the moonsault was to be all-she-wrote -- but the 'she' in this case was Ewing Winters. She would steel herself as Grace's body flew through the air, and...GOTCHA!

Ewing captures Grace right in position for a Tombstone Piledriver! She perfectly caught her out of mid-air, displaying the single greatest showing of strength in the entire match. She stumbled back a bit, holding Grace in, and hit back first at the ropes -- and it turned out to be a huge help to her cause. She bounced from them to keep her balance and speed-walked her way to the turnbuckle closest, squeeze the life from Grace as she do so to make sure she kept her grip and stepped up on to the bottom rope, placing her right foot on the second and left on the bottom, and leaped backwards...looking to land her finisher, Matriarch Obscura -- an elevated tombstone piledriver!

Grace got only the slighted glance of Ewing waiting with open arms before she felt her dive halted and found herself held tight upside down. Struggling did nothing, she was held fast. Her blunder would cost her, but she wouldn't even know how much until after the price had been paid.

She felt the rise as Ewing climbed the ropes, she wouldn't remember the drop. The piledriver impacted on the mat, and her world vanished. Her body limply hit the mat, an easy victory displayed for Ewing. But, Grace wasn't one to give in even in unconsciousness. She jolted awake suddenly and kicked violently to break a pin attempt that wasn't being made. The roar of the crowd rumbled in her ears mixed with Ewing's victory music. It dawned on her slowly, confusion fading to disappointment. Tears welled in her eyes as she painfully rolled to the side and out of the ring to collect her discarded attire.

Ewing's leap from the ropes was successful as she and Grace collapse upon impact, Ewing dropping off to the side and Grace laying still on the mat. The shock that went from her knees was eaten up by the kickpads, but Ewing would feel a great deal of it as her body jolted and her muscles tightened up more as it tried to cope with the way she landed. She would ride the adrenaline as it started to fade, pulling Grace Fatsumoto slightly away from the ropes to prevent a worry she probably shouldn't have even had. Ewing would hook both her opponent's legs and get on top, the ref dropping to the mat next to them.

"ONE...

TWO...

......THREE!"

The bell was rang as this shockingly stiff bout between two newcomers to WWF:G finally came to end end with Ewing Winters, a young woman out of Apple Valley, Minnesota who had never once in her life feared confrontation with another woman, picked up a massive victory. She rolled off of Grace and to the side, but like clockwork Grace would kick out, shocking Ewing who noticed out of the corner of her eye. It took everything Winters had left to stay awake right now, how in gods name did Grace still have any sort of energy to push her shoulders off the mat like that?

Many men
Many, many, many, many men
Wish death 'pon me
Lord, I don't cry no more
Don't look to the sky no more
Have mercy on me
Have mercy on my soul
Somewhere my heart turned cold
Have mercy on many men
Many, many, many, many men
Wish death 'pon me

"Here is your winner....EEEEEWIIIIIIING WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINTEEEEEERS!"

Ewing couldn't even enjoy her win as Grace rolled her way out of the ring and began collecting the clothing she tossed away. The ref stepped down and tried to help Ewing up to her feet, doing his job despite the hard time she gave him earlier. She used the help just to get up, but was swift to push the ref aside and instead lean into the ropes to look over at her opponent, still bewildered by the fact that she was awake so soon. The fans stood and gave both women an ovation, they had seen perhaps the best women's match in WWF:G in over half a decade. Ewing looked around at the crowd for just a moment, but then back down at Grace.

It wasn't too long after that Grace made her exit, taking a second to look back at the ring and the larger woman still transfixed on her ability to leave on her own power. As she disappeared backstage, Ewing finally was broken from a self-inflicted trance. No woman should have been able to do what Grace Fatsumoto did tonight. She earned respect that Ewing would work hard to never show her, and certainly guaranteed that regardless of the way Ewing wanted her career to play out...she'd be standing in the ring with Grace again in the future. Doing this same song and dance.

Ewing was assisted by the ref once again as he realized she was a half second from collapsing. With her arm around him she was helped through the ropes, her now dried blood glistening from a small layer of spit and sweat rolling down her neck. She stepped down from the apron, but again shoved the ref away -- this wouldn't be her victory if she didn't walk herself back to that dressing room. She limped up the ramp, ignoring fans that jeered her but also the many who clapped for her impressive debut -- and as she stopped on the stage to look up at the titantron, the same thought from earlier crossed her mind. Were the men she'd wrestled prior all holding back on her because she was a woman? She closed her eyes and dipped her head down, and within seconds she disappeared behind the curtain as a crew came out to clean up the ring.

Have mercy on my soul
Somewhere my heart turned cold
Have mercy on many men
Many, many, many, many men
Wish death 'pon me
