Suddenly Chris pounced onto Rohan's back biting into their neck while simultaneously stabbing their side. They screamed and cursed as they leaned forward reaching back to grab ahold of Chris. Somehow, Rohan successfully bucked him off keeping him within the circle limits. "Idiot! Din't you listen to the girl earlier!?" They kicked Chris hard in the side before pinning him down with their muddied boots. Reciting an incantation, blue spectral chains wrapped around Chris so he'd be unable to move. They chuckled wiping the blood from their neck. They were mortal, but this form was temporary. The deal was that they bring Chris and his demon to Hell in exchange for a second chance of life. They looked down at Chris triumphantly and teased, " Jesus Christ Chris, I remember when you use to be gentle...no wait...you're not Chris are you, Mate?" If Chris or Blaze had anything to say, they were dismissed it as playful banter.
As Rohan distracted themselves with Chris, or from their phrasing may no longer be Chris, Laine had regained herself. She began dragging herself along the ground slowing rounding to Rohan's backside. Their circle wasn't premiant and it was an obvious indication that they had limitations to their magic. Laine was able to sneak up behind them and sabotage the circle by smearing her own bloodied hand over it. She had cut her hand on the way over with the sharpest rock she could find on the rooftop. Once she had covered enough the the circle she climbed to her feet ready to tackle them. Rohan was ready to open the portal to Hell when they noticed the power from the circle waning. Before they could react, Laine shoved all her weight into them pushing them outside the circle. The chains around Chris disburse setting him free as Laine wrestled with Rohan. "Back off, Love!" They shouted as they threw Laine off of them and pinned her down. Rohan gripped her neck and squeezed as hard they could. Laine struggled gasping for air as she feet scrapped against the gravel. Chris or Blaze, was left complete unattended and could attack Rohan from behind since their back was completely exposed.

Laine's eyes began to roll back as she was losing consciousness only for Chris to pull Rohan off her. Her gasped for air extensively and coughed as Rohan lost their grip on her. She looked up at Chris horrified realizing this was no longer her friend, but the demon inside him. Blaze had pitch black eyes, and secreted black liquid from his nose and mouth. His hair was grown and his skin was stark white. Rohan struggled as Blaze's sharp nails penetrated their already tender neck. They never expected Laine to fight along side Chris which caused them to lose this battle. Rohan didn't have the strength to fight off two people and would have definitely won if Chris was alone. Even through the pain, Rohan laughed and responded, "I may not have been successful this time, Mate. However, I'll be back for round two. Hell will be waiting for you and Love." They blew a kiss to Laine whom was struggling to still lift herself up. Rohan's time had run out and their form started to dissolve. They'd likely be making another deal to get to back to the surface, but at least they achieved one thing. Blaze was now lose and able to run rampaged. Better yet, Laine was going to be left with him and Rohan was betting on the girl dying at his hands. Rohan closed their eyes as they turned into ash and scattered along the wind leaving Laine alone to deal with Blaze.
Laine grunted as Rohan dissipated leaving Blaze to take his aggression out on her. She needed to defend herself despite her weakened state knowing that Blaze will most likely kill her. Inching away, she fingers hit the porcelain shard that Chris was using earlier. Wrapping her bloody hand around it, she shakily rose to her feet and looked Blaze in the eyes. "Name's Laine...I'm not sure if you and Chris share the same mind. Kaleb told me about you, everything he said seems to add up." Her voice was hoarse and her vision kept blurring in and out. The only thing keeping her on her feet was pure adrenaline.

Don't Let The Last Hope Beside You Die
Blaze frowned when Rohan turned to ash and faded, the demon was hungry and forgot that Lanie was still there until she spoke. "Oh? Kaleb told you about me? That's nice of him. Usually Kris's friends find out about me the hard way." He laughed sinisterly as he licked his lips with his black and red forked tongue. The male was starving so Laine would just be an appetizer before he went looking for the main course. "Sadly I can't toy with you like I did the others since it's way past dinner time." Blaze's eyes turned red showing his snake-like pupils before he rushed at her with claws outstretched.

From his reaction he appeared to be hungry and she was the only food in sight. His black and red forked tongue flickered out of his mouth as he licked his salivating lips. Blaze made his intentions clear since he skipped the taunts and got straight to attacking her. With outstretched claws, he ran at her full force and she knew she could fend him off. She was outmatched so she'd let him catch up on purpose to get close. Once he grabbed her, she felt his teeth sink into her neck. Holding back screams of pain through gritted teeth, Laine held the porcelain shard tight and plunged it into his heart. "Chris...I know your listening...quit being a little p***y and get your a** out here now! Fight him!" She spouted these last words of encouragement with all the strength she had left. Laine's body went numb and she finally fell unconscious unsure of whether she was successful of bringing Chris back or not.

Don't Let The Last Hope Beside You Die
Blaze yelped as Laine stabbed him in the chest and let her unconscious body hit the ground before the demon fell to his knees, the stab would have killed them both if Rohan didn't bring the demon out the way he did. He hissed in pain as he pulled the shard out before he passed out beside Laine. When he came to, Chris opened his eyes slowly. As the vampire got up, pain shot through his chest making him gasp and fall back to his knees. The weak male took a look around not knowing what happened after Blaze took over. "Laine!" He called over to her when he spotted his friend wounded on the ground. Chris crawled over to her body and started to shake her. "Please don't be dead!"

Laine could hear Chris's voice as if it were far off in the distance until she full regained consciousness. Her eyes fluttered open as Chris's blurred face came into view. She smiled lightly since his eyes, skin, and hair looked normal again. She shakily lifted her bruised body up and lifted a cold hand to his face trying to wipe the lingering inky liquid away. She noticed that where she stabbed him was still bleeding so she held out her wrist to him. He needed blood to heal and even though she was weak she had enough to give him. By the confused look in his eyes, she could tell he was seeking an update. "I'm sorry. I didn't know what else to do. Blaze is formidable...I don't know much about him other than what your brother told me. As for Rohan, they turned into dust. Whomever they made a deal with, they ran out of time to complete it. Chris...tell me everything. Please...I don't know if I'll be able to save you next time."

Don't Let The Last Hope Beside You Die
Chris was weak and starving so he took her wrist and bit into it before feeding on her blood as Laine got him up to what happened. "I'm so sorry, if my nerves weren't shot having Blaze enter my body those years back I would have thought better under pressure. I will tell you everything when we get back to the hotel. " He said after he was done taking as much blood as he needed to get by so he could heal. "Do you happen to have a cell on you to get a hold of Sarah to come get us?" He said before the vampire started to heal. "Fick!" Chris swore in pain as he healed his heart first and it was the most painful thing he had to heal.

Laine didn't even wince when he fed on her. The numbness she felt consumed her as she thought of a delayed response to Chris's reply. He'd promise to tell her everything once they got back to the hotel, however, she got a bit of information already. When under pressure or provoked, Blaze sets himself free. There must be some kind of past trauma he slips into while fighting, but of course having his past literally come back to haunt him would explain things. As Laine dove into thought, she hadn't realized she had answered Chris's question yet. "What?...Oh a cell, I had to ditch mine in the forest after we went on the run. I have enough energy to walk." She erected her somewhat shaky frame before being alerted of Chris's pain. It hurt Chris to regenerate his organs which means she could have killed him if she stabbed him any deeper. Frowning, she leaned down and wrapped his arm around her neck. Hauling him to his feet, she supported as much of his weight as she could against her stiffened body. She wasn't a body builder, but at school she was rather athletic being a cheerleader. She had been on the bottom of the pyramid a few times and was able to hold her stance compared to the other girls. She started shuffling forward as she distracted Chris by asking questions. "What's it like? Being a vampire?" Her voice still sounded hoarse so it almost sounded like she was uninterested, but she had always been fascinated by the supernatural.

Chris was still healing from the other wounds he got from the symbol burning into his back when Laine wrapped his arm around her neck to lift the vampire up. "Well walking is always good." He said with a smile. "I wouldn't be putting much of my weight here soon, I am almost done healing." He said as he started to walk with his friend. The man chuckled when she asked what it's like to be a vampire. "I wasn't expecting that question, mind if I get back to that question?" He asked before a shy smile came to his face as he asked his own question. "What's it like to be human?"

Chris had almost completely healed himself when Laine asked the question so she wouldn't have to support him all the way to the hotel. As for her curiosity, he needed time to ponder on it before answering. She was surprised when he asked her what it was like to be human. "So, you weren't human before you were a vampire? I've always thought you had to be turned into one. Interesting. As for being human, it has its highlights like...like...being able to appreciate and cherish the friendships you've made. Chris, is Sarah a human or am I your friend human friend? Sarah appears like she's known you for a long time and that leads me to believe she's a lot older than she lets on." Laine sighed before exploring this topic further, "Human's die...easily...would you miss me if I died?" She bit her lip feeling conflicted since her and Chris just met recently. However, she no longer had anyone else in her life that would remember or even cared if she passed away.

Chris had regained much of his strength and was mobile again as he alleviated her of his weight. She discovered that Chris and his brother are pure bloods and not many of them exist in this day and age. As for Sarah, she's human imbued with fire magic. Apparently he's known Sarah's mother and her since they were small which gave her an indication of how long he's been around. When he brought up being a vampire, he sounded like he regretted it. Obviously, getting attached to humans that'll pass on eventually would take a toll on anyone. After Laine had mentioned her possible demise, Chris stopped in his tracks probably flabbergasted she'd even bring up such a grim topic. She stopped herself and turned around to face him as he declared to protect her. He even went so far as to vow to turn her into a vampire if that was the only option. Her eyes watered a bit as he touched her cheek gently. No one had ever gone this far for her sake and she didn't believe she deserved his kindness. Putting her hand lightly on his, she replied, "Loyal to the end. Same goes for me, Chris. Although, to be frank you're the one that seems to be in trouble more than me." She teased him as they got to the hotel room and swiped the key card to get in.
Laine didn't remember much after their conversation since she headed immediately for bed after cleansing her wounds. When she woke up, the trio was gone and she could only assume that they went out shopping or grabbing a bite to eat in Sarah's case. Laine felt groggy, but it was nothing a hot shower couldn't fix. She still hadn't taken one since her and Chris met which has been three days now. After her luxurious session, she hopped out and went over to the huge mirror wiping away the layer of steam to see her relaxation. Her smile instantly dissipated when she got a solid look at her neck where Blaze bit her. Black satanic markings formed around the bit wound and were spreading out across her shoulder. She ran a concerned, trembling hand over the markings wondered what it meant and if it would continue to spread. She originally thought the stinging sensation on her neck when she woke up was just from it being a tender area, but the sensation was expanding. Laine bit her lip as she heard the door unlock to the room and hastily got dressed in the same outfit she had on since it's the only attire she now owns. She covered her neck with her hair and letterman jacket deciding to keep the markings a secret. They already had enough on their plates and maybe she could figure this out on her own without worrying them. Stepping out of the bathroom, she found them sitting at the table; a huge breakfast buffet waited for her.

Laine happily responded to Chris, "Good, and yourself?" She forced herself to sound a little more peppy to hide her problems. She greeted the others as she sat down and began eating the breakfast quietly. After a few seconds though, her mannerisms began to change as she began to eat more aggressively. She kept piling more and more on her plate until she heard a someone telling her to stop. She stood up shoving away one of the trio's concerning hands that touched her shoulder. As if in a trance, she stared forward swaying for a bit before she turned and threw everything up. All the contents she spewed out were pure black and she covered her mouth feeling absolutely disgusted. "I..." She had no words to explain what just happened as she glanced at the others ashamed. "I'm sorry...I'll clean this up..." Instead of cleaning though, she just stood there looking down at her vomit trying to figure out a logical medical condition to diagnose herself with. She thought back to the markings on her shoulder and had an idea to search a local library for what they meant. They could have a connection to her erratic mood swing.
After cleaning up her mess, with little conversation with the others in between, she left the room and headed to the closest library. She lied to the others saying that this morning was just a fluke and her change in behavior was just from a lack of sleep. She ensured them that she was okay and was going to the library to find a way to break the curses on Chris and Kaleb. She didn't want to be tracked down in any way via computer so she just stuck to written text. She looked through several biblical text since this had to do with satanic happenings and came across the seven deadly sins. Gluttony, excess eating, although it had some relation to greed as well. That would explain this mornings events and the possible side affects of these markings. Laine remained in the library until closing hours before she returned to the hotel. She was anxious to face the others again, and hoped that the markings wouldn't make her do anything sinful. She took a deep breath as she walked back in to face them.
