Only way they could have beat Sephiroth without Cloud is if they found a way to resurrect Aeris, or make sure she didn't die, and have her use her power to counteract Sephiroth's. It would make a huge clash of energy, but with the rest of the group feeding their power into Aeris, it'd work. Other than that, I don't think it could happen.

Cloud i like their leader & dudes whitout a leader your nothing. its like a pastor and its sheep, the sheep cannot defend whitout the pastor.

NO! They could not have beaten Sephiroth with out Cloud because well in my opinion they suck with out him. Cloud is there leader and he's the strongest, the smartest, and the sexiest! Okay so I threw that last part in because I wanted to (and it true!) but yeah so anyway, I don't think they would have even lasted 2 seconds with out Cloud. Cloud Rules!

They could probably. If they put 110% or more effort into it. Believing is also a pretty big part of it.
