*Zidane blinked again, the head trauma from smacking into the ground fading slightly.*
"Oh... wait, no - you aren't... Eheheh, sorry for running into you like that..."
*Zidane smiled sheepishly and helped the Sora-look-alike to his feet.*
"So, kid - you new around here? What's your name?"

Leon sat under one of the trees near the festival grounds. In his had was a very large amout of cotton candy. He of course had made sure no one he knew was around when he bought the said bag but, as of right then, he could have cared less if Yuffie was above him taking pictures. He looked up to make sure she wasn't though.

QueenOfMallets Shadow15 Riku was fast asleep on the tree. He heard Sora's voice and quickly woke up, falling in to the water from the startle. "Ah!" He stood up in the water and returned to the paopu island. "Hey ya.." He shakes his head as water dripped everywhere and down his chest. "Sora..what'cha doing here? Why aren't you with Kairi?" He put on a fake smile trying to be happy that Sora went with Kairi though he was sad. "You look sick..you okay?" He gave Sora a worried look as he sat himself upon the branch. Sora continued to look sad, and looked back up, "Riku...I'm sorry, I should have told Kairi I wanted to spend the day with you. I haven't seen you in a years and I...it just seems like forever since we've seen each other. I wanted to be with you really badly, but..." Sora reached in his pocket and took out a wrapped Papou candy that he got as one of the prizes from the games. Then he realized, Sora was finally alone with him on their island. He smiled and walked over to sit by Riku, "Hey Riku, do you want to share some papou candy?" Riku looked at Sora, happy that he came back for him. "Sure I'd love to share it with you. Riku smiled happily and kissed Sora's cheek. "Hey..do ya wanna go back to my house later? We can catch up on things and just hang out..?"

"Yea! I would love that Riku!" said Sora as he popped some candy in his mouth. He sat next to Riku and smiled wide. He held out the papou candybag to let Riku take some. After they both equally had some he gave a peck on Riku's cheek and snorted a little, "I'm glad I'm with you and not Kairi, she's probably spreading rumors with Selphie by now." He jumped to his feet and turned to Riku.
"Hey Riku, at end of the Papou festival they're going to have some fireworks and romantic songs playing in a couple of minutes," Sora held out his hand, and tried to act like Riku even tried to make his voice deep, "Come with me my darling!" His voice cracked at the end which made himself look more ridiculous than needed. Sora grinned anyway and took Riku's hand in slight tug, "Come on! You'll love it! Please?"

Riku smiled and winked at Sora. "No...how about I take you?" He picked up Sora and carried him bridal style to the festival. "Me and you together..like old times." He kissed Sora and let him down, walking with him hand in hand. 'Wanna sit on the grass and drink some poapu juice while we watch the fireworks?"

Sora feeling really happy had a skip in his step when he walked with Riku and nodded his head. "Yea!! We can use my mom's blanket I can ask her if I can borrow it when we get there, I'm sure she won't mind!" He grinned wide and his expression turned he realized something,
"Riku, we should probably find a spot where Kairi can't find us. I'm too scared to know what would happen if she finds out I love you, not her."
Meanwhile and elsewhere, Kairi was tapping her shoe and folded her arms at Goofy and Selphie who were playing games.
"Goofy, what's taking Sora so long?"
"Ah, well ya know, them heartless can be tough!"
Selphie hit the big target and won the big prize, she grinned at Kairi, "It's ok, Kairi, I'm having fun on my own without a date."
Kairi shook her head, "You don't understand! It's essential in a girl's life to have the man of your dreams. Sora is my man."
"...Duuuur Kairi, are you even sure if Sora is your boy?" said Goofy scratching his head.
"OFCOURSE I AM!!" She threw a papou ice cream cone at Goofy and stomped off.
Selphie blinked in suprise and helped Goofy by whiping off the cream with a napkin, "Whoa, is she on her Time of the Month?"
"Gwarsh, what's that?"
"Aheh, nothing Goof..."

Riku looked at Sora and laughed. "Kairi? That freak find us? I doubt it..she's so dumb she doesn't even now what stupid is!" Riku then noticed a spot on the dock. "How about there? its dark and quiet?" He smiled at Sora.

"Ah! That's perfect Riku," he was about to get head start to there when he saw a papou fruit on the tree, there was one left. He ran over and grabbed it and smiled wide, "Ok! Let's go before they start!"

"Nice to meet ya Roxas - my name's Zidane."
Zidane sized the other blond boy up again. The resemblence was striking, even though he himself didn't know Sora very well...
"Are you... related to someone named Sora, by any chance?"
Cloud, meanwhile, had given up on finding the little monkey thief and headed away from the carnival grounds. In the distence, he could see someone sitting against a tree in the shade.
Is that Leon...? Eating... cotten candy????
He couldn't help the semi-evil smirk that snuck onto his face.
Gods, if Zack hadn't been a bad influence on him, who knows what was...

Riku and Sora arrived minutes later and sat down on the dark and quiet dock as they watched the skies. "Thanks for coming back for me Sora..you don't know how much it means to me.." He smiled at Sora, a truly happy smile, one he only showed rarely. He laid down next to Sora who was sitting up."So what's planned for later?"
Aerith walked along the shore all alone. Again she was lost as always and couldn't find her way to the festival. "Hello? ANyone? Leon? Cloud? Tifa?" She sighed as she continued walking. "I am lost..." Her stomach began grumbling as she dropped to her knees. "Darn..I knew I should have brought a map."

Zack himself would have been proud at the fiendish plan Cloud was now putting into action. Now that it was dark, it was easier to sneak up on Leon... and the fireworks probably were holding his attention.
Slowly... slowly... OHSHITDIDHESEEMEohnevermind... slowly...
Cloud snuck up behind Leon, his feet utterly silent on the ground. He reached around with all the grace of a... well, actually Yuffie was a ninja and she wasn't all that graceful... but that was beside's the point. His head mere inches away from Leon's, his hand darted forward, snatched the clump of cotten candy out of Leon's hand that he was about to eat, and shoved it in his own mouth.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, the sane, logical part of Cloud's mind was staring, rather baffled by his current behavior.
But... they say that people tend to do strange things during the Paopu Festival...
Which might explain why Cloud then kissed Leon on the cheek, and then darted away before the SeeD had a chance to see who it was.

Sora smiled at Riku and was glad he put on his true happy face. Sora loved him when he was really truely happy.
"Now...we watch for the fireworks." The fireworks began, they sparkled the sky like exploding diamonds. Sora gazed lovingly at them and held up the papou fruit. He held it between him and Riku with a glance. Sora blushed, "Hey Riku...this is a Papou festival and um...well...do you want to share one?"
Meanwhile Kairi was stomping off trying to find Sora, she was grumbling in every step she took. She heard a bang and saw that the fireworks already started without her, "Damn it!" Kairi saw Aerith along the shoreline and walked up to her, "Aerith? Are you looking for Cloud? Because he's down by the festival, um...have you seen Sora?"

Now far, far away from Leon, Cloud stopped running and blushed madly.
What the name of Shiva possessed me to do that...?
He shook his head and walked into the woods, the adrenaline rush wearing ********... why did I...? Dammit, what's gotten into me?
His face took on a creastfallen expression as he passed through the shadows made by the trees. He raised a hand to his lips.
"... I... I don't understand..."

To say Leon was surprised would be the understatment of the year. Not only did he get some of his sweet treat stolen but he was kissed by some unknown cotton candy stealing blonde person. How did he know the theif was blonde? He had turned his head around in time to see a person runing away blonde hair. 'Who do I know with blonde hair...Seifer but he's gone, hopfuly dead. Zell but he said he surprisingly didn't want to come. But that only leaves..' Leon's eyes widend as he shot up from the ground and dropped his cotton candy before runing in the direction of the blonde theif with a name being repeated in his head. 'Cloud.'
