As the vehicle lurches and rocks from side to side, you find that there's an even more ominous threat laying straight ahead of you. Rather -- right at eye level with you! Branches loom in the air like spindly, gnarled fingers reaching for you and you'll have to utilize your best dodging skills to avoid getting smacked (or worse!) Holding onto the sides for dear life she noticed that they were headed into the woods. “Mr. Horse I don’t think this is the great… Gah!” There was a crackling noise as the twigs and bushes snapped underneath the horse’s hooves. Everything blurred by them as Evren quickly dodged the branches that came her way… that was until she managed to completely miss the large branch that hit her in the head. Her ears rang as she found herself on the floor of the carriage. “Ow…” Blinking the tears from her eyes she could only watch the sky from down here. She had honestly no idea where she was going to end up…

Let's just hope your horse still has some energy left in him to get you out of this bind. Slowly pulling herself off the bottom of the carriage she slowly turned her head when she heard the growling. Wolves… how did they manage to get far enough out in the woods for there to be wolves? In her slightly concussed state, she threw some of the items in the cart off. The next thing she felt the fangs of one of the wolves piercing her hand. “Ach…” Well luckily, she’s dealt with animals or else this would probably be more painful than it already was. “No… bad wolves… bad!” She swiped its nose with her free hand and that was enough to startle the wolf to let go of her hand. All Evren could do was pout as the blood trickled from her hand.

Your horse doesn't seem to think about the potential of drowning as it drags you and your vehicle into the water, splashing as he tromps his way forward. Time to decide whether or not you're going to sink or swim! Evren blinked as she saw the wolves stop giving chase to the cart. When she looked forward she could only groan as they approached the water. And as they approached the water all Evren could do was let out a squeak as she ducked hoping that none of the water would hit her. Which surprisingly none of it did hit her. She then peeked out of her protective ball and let out a sigh of relief as they were on the other side of the river.

Evren - 2 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 10 + 9Quote: As the stallion leaves the river and climbs his way back up onto the banks, he seems to finally be tuckered out from all of the excitement and exercise. Although his trot is significantly slower, the animal seems to know where it's going and soon you're approaching a small field with an array of flowers - an odd sight to see in the middle of winter but it's there, nevertheless. As the beast comes to a halt to begin munching on a few of the colorful flowers, a small, sparkly burst of color zips by your head and for a second, you wonder if your tired mind is playing tricks on you. When the carriage came to a complete stop Evren let out a deep breath she didn’t know that she was holding and stared blankly ahead at the glowing… bugs? In the back of her mind, Evren felt like these were too big to be the normal fireflies seen around here. But she didn’t have too long to think about it before another carriage had stumbled upon her and the carriage. Evren was then swiftly rescued and got some well needed medical attention. Luckily there were no signs of a concussion and nothing got infected… Aside for the fact that she might be afraid of carriage rides for a while, everything turned out fine! Evren Exit (635)

Either way, the danger of the wolves seemed to be over for now, and Bernard let out a sigh of relief. "They seem to be gone now. Good. I am not too good with fighting." He avoided it whenever possible at least.
He jumped back up to the seats, hoping that he would see what was going on ahead, and he hoped that it was the end of the forest. But before he saw it, he could hear the water, and before he knew it, they were in the river. This horse just didn't want to quit! He yelled down to Etoile, "Come back up! I'm not sure if it is safer to be closer to the water or not!" So far he had avoided getting any water on himself, but he was still quite worried about his carriage companion.

The wolves apparently had decided to finally back off for now, perhaps unable to withstand more kitty laser beams to the face or being smacked with branches and shoes. Either way, it looked like Etoile would very thankfully not end up as wolf food today, which would have been a very sad end to the current misadventure. Except apparently now they were headed for the river! Getting wet was not something Etoile wanted, not when the weather was cold, as a wet kitty would surely turn into a sick kitty, and being sick would be no fun. Following Bernard's lead once more, the little Mauvian climbed back up the carriage and out from the bottom, scrambling to stay dry (and not potentially get swept away, either). "I wanna go hooooome! This ride has been very awful," the cat remarked.

Prompt 1 - Ashley Williams
If Ashley was being honest then she would far rather have gone home after the ice maze, but her father's business associate had spotted the carriage rides and had insisted on paying for her to go on it - saying that it would be his and his wife's treat for her indulging them with visiting the carnival.
She couldn't exactly say no, which was how she had found herself grumpily waiting in line, whilst trying her best not to look like she was grumpily waiting in line.
Eventually, however she reached the front of the line and a stallion pulled out to the waiting area pulling behind it an ornately decorated carriage cart and whilst Ashley was sure the horse and the driver had most likely been at it for a while, neither of them seemed tired.
She waited for the party on board to leave before climbing up, but as she did so someone from behind bumped into and sent her stumbling a few steps forward.
For a moment Ashley contemplated turning around, but in the end decided to ignore whoever it was and climbed her way into the cart - most likely it was some impatient person who actually wanted to do the ride.

Ashley reached out to pull the blanket that had been provided onto her lap since the carriage, whilst picturesque and no doubt in keeping with the season, was not exactly warm.
It didn't seem like the carriage would be going anywhere soon however, as the driver was clambering down and apologetically saying something about a restroom break, but it wasn't as if Ashley could do anything about it.
She contemplated rummaging through her bag for her phone as the driver started to tie the stallion up, only to make a startled sound of surprise as something appeared to spook the stallion and set the thing off a sprint - with the carriage and by unfortunate extension her in tow.
Ashley gave up on the bag idea, very quickly as the carriage lurched around after the horse and instead did her best to grab for the nearest surface.

And it didn't look like the stallion was about to stop any time soon as it ran full pelt towards the forest that was up ahead, the lurching and rocking of the carriage and therefore by extension herself making Ashley regret the two hot chocolates that she had indulged in at the carnival.
It seemed that she had bigger problems however, with said 'problems' up ahead - ahead and at eye level - taking the form of the upcoming branched that loomed like twisted and spindly fingers.
Fortunately, however, her additional activities as Reinerite came in handy, because - whilst she couldn't exactly power up - Ashley was at least able to to duck and dodge to the extent that she at least avoided the worst of the branches, even if she did get some scrapes from the smaller and thus harder to see branches.

Her body was exhausted, and she was completely drained, but she was alive. The sound of another human got her attention and teal eyes opened wide, her head swiveling to take in another sleigh. Okay. Good. She could work with people. No more animals. No more horses.
She was pulled out of the sleigh carefully, the worried driver throwing questions at her that Pythia couldn't bring herself to answer. Other people pulled her (and the stick she refused to relinquish) into their sleigh; she was tucked in between two warm bodies, and covered in extra blankets.
The drive back to the carnival was silent (on her part), with the young woman refusing to answer questions, just feeling her body slowly thaw. It was over. This hell was over.

As if the branches hadn't been bad enough, the set of howls that started up suggested that they were pretty much the least of her problems - because if Ashley didn't know better then she would say that the howls sounded almost like wolf howls.
Sounded, because they couldn't really be wolves. Right?
Right?
Well maybe if someone up there actually liked her, but given that she was on this hell ride then it was obvious that they didn't so of course the howls were wolf howls - and they were chasing either her or the stallion - although didn't particularly want to think too hard on which.
Fortunately, however, her activities as Reinerite came in handy again as she managed to catch a wayward branch that snapped off a tree to handy effect and fend off the wolves.

Eventually it seemed that her efforts with the branch was enough to convince the wolves that they really needed to find other, more biddable prey–
Well at the very least the wolves fell back abandoning the hunt and Ashley breathed a sigh of relief, although given how the rest of the ride had gone so far she should have perhaps have known better.
Looking back at the front of the carriage was enough to show her 'why' she should have known better because of course nothing about the ride had exactly been pleasant so far–
Although if Ashley was making a list of things that had gone wrong so far, the stallion doing its level best to try and drown her wasn't one of the things that she would have added.
Of course given the way her luck had been so far that was exactly what the stallion attempted to do as it plunged straight into the river–
And there was nothing for it but to curl in as tightly as she could and hope for the best something that well turned out much better than she expected as somehow Ashley ended up coming out of the river not only in one piece - but also as dry as when she had gone in.

It seemed the stallion seemed to be finally tiring as it clambered up on the other bank of the river - maybe it was the fact that it hadn't managed to kill her after all, or maybe the fact that all of the running had tired it out.
Ashley didn't know and she didn't care, because by this point she was more than ready to get out of the carriage and away from the hell ride.
Unfortunately whilst the stallion was tiring, he still hadn't stopped and Ashley knew better than to jump off a moving carriage.
Said stallion also seemed to be going somewhere with purpose, although Ashley had no idea just where said place was. She was nonetheless relieved when the thing finally came to a stop in a field of flowers - too relieved that it had actually stopped to care about how odd said field was particularly given that it was winter.
A small, sparkly burst of color zipped by her head as the stallion started placidly munching on some of said flowers causing Ashley to wonder if the hell ride was causing her to lose it - but no more small balls of light were whizzing by her head, kind of like fireflies albeit larger - at least from what she could see as the way that they were bouncing about made it hard to keep track of them.
Fascinating as it was to watch, Ashley was nonetheless relieved when a nearby carriage arrived, especially as the horse on the new carriage seemed a lot more placid than the one on her hell ride had been and the inhabitants of the new carriage were happy to move over and - after it was clear that she didn't want to answer questions - left her alone for the remainder of the trip back to the clearing where she started off at.
It was over - finally, finally over - and Ashley was planning to keep it that way by ensuring that there would be no more of such rides in future.

Prompt 1 As you stand next in line for your turn for a ride, a beautiful stallion soon arrives to the waiting area, pulling behind it an ornate, elegant looking carriage cart. Despite having taken several rides before you, the horse seems to be full of energy and the driver as cheerful as ever. The party before you leaves the ride, so now it's your turn to hop on!
Nothing was more delightful in a snow covered setting than a magical carriage ride into the forest and the surrounding area.
Well. It would have been more delightful had her horrid friends not decided to go without her.
Queenie and the others had drawn straws, so to speak, to figure out who the odd-man-out would be since they had a group of five and the carriages could only hold up to four people. It was a travesty that she couldn't join them (or be the one not left out) but she held her chin high and dealt with the consequences, deciding she was still going to ride the carriage, even if it meant going it alone.
She paid for a ticket, she was going to go on the ride. Hmph.
When the carriage finally pulled up, she breezed her way up the small step, finding her place in the corner of the large, ornate looking cart while a cute little birdie flew down and decided to chatter at her. At least someone was being nice to her!
