Building Material for Tomorrow: Frigid Water

Trevel decided to make sure his ice hive was sturdy. He worked on the foundation before building up to encompass the basic structure of a rounded dome. It had a door leading into it, but he decided against any windows to try and help maintain the stability of it. However, he did carefully add in a chimney for added decoration. The faux appearance of brick was also carefully etched in with a stick. The overall process took him time, but by the time the project was completed he couldn't help but grin at his handy work. It looked like a proper ice hive in his opinion. Once that was done, Trevel decided to use Frigid Water taking a gamble it would freeze over and help stabilize the structure with any luck.

Trevel rolled his eyes as he got ready to go after a bunch of dumb snowflakes. Eyzaak had somehow talked him into it, and after seeing Eckios turn in a moderately decent sized snowflake..he figured there couldn't be that much to it. It wasn't rocket science after all, right? Shrugging he decided to give it a go as he tipped his head back and tried his own hand at catching snowflakes.

He soon discovered it was a lot harder than he anticipated on, the initial cluster he gathered wasn't exactly generous.

20 + 16 + 36 = 72

Trevel kept going, curious to see if he'd be able to balance keeping a decent enough snowflake. It seemed nearly impossible, and if he hadn't just watched the tealblood do his little stunt. Looking to the snowflakes he ignored the discomfort of keeping his tongue out as he followed the guidelines. Just like that however...his snowflake melted on him.

Melted!

Trevel sighed as he tried again. With a bit of determination he was able to get a snowflake not to melt instantaneously at last! He looked surprised when it didn't immediately dissolve.

72 - 69 = 3

Trevel wasn't surprised by the time he made it over to the judge his little dinky snowflake had melted. It had seemed impossible, but he found it annoying. The purpleblood even scoffed, simply because it sounded like it would have been easier than it ended up panning out. Looking thoughtful he decided he'd just have to try again if this weird game kept going and see if he could do better.

Eyzaak darted over to try his luck at catching snowflakes with his tongue. He was doubtful to the validity of this game, but figured what harm was there is not playing? Besides the biting cold of Civisect city, and maybe a frozen tongue? Who was really keeping track? A wide smile painted the bluebloods features. The three of them were on a rotating schedule of watching the booth, leaving and all spending time together. It was a bit like clockwork, and making time for sleep seemed almost dumb wasn't it for the suns rays to deter him.

Rushing around Eyzaak tried his hand at catching some snowflakes.

96 + 26 + 56 = 178

Eyzaak could barely contain himself. By his second go around when it actually came time to catch his snowflake a rather large flake landed nearly perfectly on his tongue. The freezing cold temperatures could do little to dampen his fiery determination. He was fueled by the fact he might actually do well.

Too bad he turned up the heat a little too much, as he would soon discover he was perhaps too on fire with this delicate art of snowflake catching.

Eyzaak should have kept calm. Only when at last a giant snowflake landed out his tongue he jerked his head in surprise. The sudden extra tingle of cold had sent a shiver down his spine. Before he could even get moving to the judge, the snowflake was rapidly breaking down. Despite his best efforts, Eyzaak wasn't like the speedy yellowblood who lived back home with him in Salamire.

Groaning in dismay Eyzaak at least scored some points, but was disappointed by the drastic reduction in size his had underwent in the short distance he traveled.

Tevini wasn't sure this was a good idea. She'd come to watch Cerpin participate in the games and decided it might be a good opportunity for her to learn how to ski as well. Despite the game being heavily promoted as a talent competition, the redblood hadn't realized the full scope of it. She'd assumed the judging would be of the participants ability to athletically maneuver down the hill, not a complete theatrical performance too. By then she'd already suited up for the thing and waited in line. Panicked and afraid, she'd wondered how to best sneak out of this situation to no avail. If she left now Cerpin would undoubtedly tease her for being a coward.

"Well... here goes nothing." The engineer winced as she pushed off and began her descent. Quickly it became too fast for her comfort and Tevini began to wobble out of control.

"AhhhHHHhhh!" The redblood hollered as she struggled to navigate the course. Red flags caught her attention and the troll wondered how to turn on these blasted things. With no time to practice, she pulled out her nail gun and clicked a switch. Tevini had learned a thing or two from her many nights with Etsali! Shooting out a grappling hook extension, she attempted to reel or swing herself around some trees towards her target.

Or right past it.

"No, wait-" She screamed all the way down the blue path.

Building Material for Tomorrow:Nasty Parking Lot Ice

"Hmm..." A redblood stood in the lot with a very serious expression. As trolls bustled around her, she seemed oblivious to the more playful carefree spirit in the air. This was no science fair but it was still a more intellectual challenge suited to her skills, compared to the other games. Finally something she might be good at! Carefully she molded a small snow structure with a stern look in her eyes. Tevini had no idea what kind of organic material they'd find out in space once they finally got there. This was a great chance to practice building a makeshift shelter if anything went wrong. Ideally they'd be better prepared than that but she supposed they should really prepare for anything. Including getting stranded with no gear.

Anything was possible with Cerpin.

"Perhaps if I..." Crouching down she attempted to carve out the bottom into a better shape to support more weight up top. It was a little different than building a rocket or a spaceship, this material would likely melt and then re-freeze. She needed to account for that shift somehow. Shuffling around her creation, Tevini continued her experiment curiously. Was it against the rules for her to pull out her tool box?

Building Material for Tomorrow: Parking Lot Ice

Dillys unfortunately turned out to not be the best at building. He knew how to make fine detailed glass work much like his twin, but apparently when it came to structures and building ice forts it simply wasn't his fortee. However, the redblood still had a smile on his face as he made his fort. He could already imagine Connie trying to make something similar. He did wonder if she'd try this game out, or if she was to busy doing booths. Regardless it was nice to be back in Civisect, he had missed his hometown even if it was primarily a highblood dominated city.

Dillys tried for the shape of a square ice hive as his dome simply wasn't cutting it. While it was a little malformed, he had chosen the parking lot ice not for its looks, but for the fact it seemed to be solid and not easily melting and would offer additional sturdiness. Hopefully anyway!

Cold weather always did a troll some good, in Nucleo's opinion. It snapped you awake! Making his way through the crowd, he found himself humming as he wandered. He needed to head towards his booth and finish getting things set up so really he should be hurrying along. But a flicker of lights caught his eye and the greenblood found himself laughing at the silliness of the game.

"I can spare a few minutes. Sign me up." Nucleo smiled and approached the other competitors. Leaning back he looked up at the sky and took in the beautiful sight. Nature really was humbling. It reminded him of Panili's words and how they needed to protect this planet. Opening his mouth he took in a breath and stuck out his tongue to taste the snow.

A snowflake landed on his tongue and Nucleo laughed. He wasn't taking this very seriously. His beard was collecting more than his mouth!

"Ack!" The barista chuckled and brushed himself off a little. He didn't care what he looked like but didn't really want to let his beard get completely drenched in this cold! He needed to stay healthy so he could serve food at his booth without any customer complaints. No one wants to drink anything from a sick man.

Eventually another flake landed and it was time for his next move!

Dashing through the snow, Nucleo didn't have much luck with keeping his snowflake intact. It melted quickly, warmed by his joyous spirit.

"Better luck next time I guess." The greenblood shook his head amused before turning and heading back on his way. There was still plenty of Bloodfest to see and he had no doubt he'd be making his way down this path again later. Maybe next time he'd pop a mint first and see if that helped!

Humming once more, Nucleo disappeared into the crowd like a snowflake in a storm.

Eilidh couldn't help but find the cute little snowflake game simply adorable. She had seen Amonee push through the crowd, and decided it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. A soft smile crossed the tealbloods expression. She could see her breath as the tealblood poked her tongue out in an attempt to catch herself a snowflake to bring back. The wintry scene of Civisect was much like Busthind. Eilidh originally had been from the Four Fronds, but with most of her friends, Xavy and the Night Grind situated on Busthind...she spent more time there then her own hive lately.

Giggling she tried her best to catch snowflakes with her tongue as they drifted slowly to the ground. It wasn't so easy trying to catch them! Her freckled cheeks flushed as she kept trying.
