Taylor was startled when Zhi gripped tightly upon him and started to cry. He was greatly confused, but could sense the intense emotions which Zhi was expressing. It was for this reason that he allowed her to just cry as he gently wrapped his arms around her. He held her through her familiar rapid fire explanation which never made perfect sense, but always gave Taylor some scope of understanding what transpired.
'I wasn't here? How much time has gone by since I was?' He thought as he smiled despite his concerns. Zhi seemed relieved enough that Taylor did not want to give her any additional anxieties. Thankfully, as Horus ate the snacks, his squawks started to piece to Taylor what happened. "Wait wait wait. Slow down." He said with a little chuckle. He then repeated a few of the words which confused him out loud for Zhi to understand. "Kogarashi? Rogue organization? Buddy, you're speaking faster than Zhi does." He jested. He turned his head to Zhi as he absorbed everything about her. She really did look radiant. He saw pieces of her which reminded him of the kid that she was when they first met. However, a clear maturity has overtaken her body. He wondered if she was still the fastest ninja in Suna. Suna!
"Since Horus is not making much sense to me, why don't we head back to Suna and you can explain to me what has been going on." He said upon getting to his feet. Horus lowered his head slighty at the comment, which went unnoticed since Taylor's focus was currently on Zhi. He felt like it was important to return there considering that Zhi said that he was and wasn't there at the same time. It would be important to go back and see... huh? Taylor thought as he tried to recall the people in the village. He could make out vague silhouettes of them, but for some reason couldn't put any names to the people from the past. Was it a side effect of whatever was going on? He warded off the confusion he felt. He smiled confidently to Zhi as he did not want her to worry at all about him. For some reason, he felt like Zhi has done enough of that.

__ It quickly felt like the good old days with just the three of them enjoying each others' company like this. Although, there was still a lot of questions and answers that had yet to be said. Zhi curiously listened to Horus' manner of communication and gave a playful but sharp, "Hey!" when their manner of speaking was compared. Still, bringing up that Kogarashi organization again definitely brought her back to reality. Zhi's heart slumped down a few emotional steps when Taylor spoke of returning to Sunagakure as if it were so simple. "I'd like that... I really would, but it's impossible right now." Zhi adjusted herself to a more comfortable seated posture and sighed solemnly. "I kinda think you should stay seated to hear this..." She patted the soft beach sand in front of her and exchanged a glance full of sorrow up his way.
Once he was seated, hopefully, then Zhi would start to explain. "We can't go home- not right now, anyway." She was uncharacteristically mellow as her words were weighed down by the losses of friends, family, and comrades over the last half of a decade. Honestly, Zhi was still coping with the loss of her beloved idol. Had her father not come before her she'd also still be mourning for her parents too. Who could count the number of other Sunagakure civilians and shinobi who became casualties or were still missing in action as far as anyone else knew? That moment of pause helped her choose her words before continuing, "The village was destroyed in the world war with all the other nations controlled by the United Hidden Villages. A lot of people are... gone, and the rest mostly became refugees at Uzushiogakure, which is nearby here. Lady Bastet and many others gave their lives to protect our home, but we... still lost almost everything. Kazekage Ayame is still recovering from her grievous war wounds." Zhi couldn't not start to cry in memory of her wonderful teacher and idol. She sniffled a little as she wiped more tears away from her eyes and continued, "Lady Bastet died honorably in combat. Nariomi..." Zhi knew this one was gonna probably be a huge kicker for Taylor, "Nariomi-sensei died of illness after the fighting ended. There are several of us living in Uzushio now, but it's been hard and just about everyone misses home..." For now, she wouldn't yet touch on the events she was aware of Taylor being involved in, or the overbearing accusations set upon him either.

Taylor's face became solemn as he took a seat next to Zhi. He listened while Zhi listed off the ordeals they suffered. The loss of Bastet wounded him. He recalled when she took him into her squad along with Zhi and... and... his mind was blank. He knew that there were other people on the squad, but why could he not put a face or identity to them? Why was his mind all scrambled? Taylor perked up when Zhi mentioned the name Nariomi. Taylor had no memories associated with the name, but for some reason felt a profound sadness upon hearing his passing. Tears streamed from his face without context or meaning. He felt ridiculous as he wiped away the tears.
"Zhi, you should know that, despite everything you said, a lot of it either doesn't make sense to me, or I cannot remember the pieces." He said after the girl finished. He wanted to pretend that everything was alright, and that he could be strong for her as she was always strong for him. Unfortunately, he also did not want to give her false hopes that everything was alright. However, to counterbalance this, he did take the girl's hands into his own and smiled confidently at his friend. "I'm sorry that I am not fully together as I should be. And I'm sorry that you've been in so much pain for so long. I wish I could have been there to help you. However, I'm here now Zhi. I'm not going to let myself go anywhere without you beside me." He beamed at the words. Horus snaked his head underneath the two holding hands and brushed against the bonded hands. "And Horus isn't going anywhere either apparently." He said with a chuckle. He looked back at Zhi with his blue eyes glistening. "Whenever I'm with you Zhi, I am not afraid. You make things not scary. So, let me give you that strength too! Let me back by your side so that you do not need to be in pain alone any longer." He said with confidence. His best friend was within his grasp again. There was no way he was going to let that go.

__ So he couldn't remember everything still? Zhi felt bad for putting all of that on him like she did. Still, he seemed to have been moved or affected even by some parts that he didn't recall. She gently held his hands in return and smiled through her tears as he did his best to assure her. These promises he made filled her with hope and yet weighed on her heart with fear. Horus did a wonderful job in simply lightening the mood with his own way of doing things. She smiled through her tears, letting her optimism win out in favor of these odds that she chose to believe in, "Okay, let's stick together. No matter what." Her eyes strayed for a moment as she found herself trying to think of what they should do next. "You wouldn't happen to remember someone named Shinsei, huh?" It was another little shot in the dark but she squeezed the trigger anyway. "We kinda need to figure out where he is and what happened to him before Uzushio's ninja catch up to arrest you, or worse..." Of course, if it came to that Zhi would stand at Taylor's back so not even the world could overtake them. Call it an unfulfilled dream she couldn't help but keep chasing, but Taylor was just completely invaluable to her. The only people she could think of being more important were her mother and father. Sure, she had plenty of friends and comrades still trying to rebuild their lives there in Uzu, but she hardly ever felt at peace on or around Awajishima since the forced migration.

Taylor's face went grim when Zhi talked about getting arrested. "Wait, what?" He said absently. He needed to find this person or else he would be arrested? What did he do?! "Zhi, now would be a really good time to drop a lot of words on me about what you are talking about." He said with a half laugh. He was nervous, but he knew whatever it was would be alright. After all, he had no memories of doing anything bad, so he probably didn't do anything too bad, right?

__ Zhi hung her head as it came to the point that there were still more questions than answers. Picking herself back up again she took a deep breath and did as asked of her, "Sooooo... basically all I know is: you were found by Masato somewhere awhile ago but you didn't remember anyone else at the time so you left because I guess you didn't trust anyone or something and when Tetsuhiko, Masato and I caught up you were hanging out with this Shinsei guy who turns out to be some guy who left Uzushiogakure for whatever reason and I guess you both were friends or whatever so you didn't want anything to do with me or the rest of your past friends so we left you alone and then I guess you got told to do something for the Uzukage to prove yourself because apparently you were believed to be a part of that Kogarashi organization which means that the Uzukage sent you and Shinsei to go spy on other rogue ninja for Uzushio instead but now Shinsei- who was supposedly in charge of you during that mission- is missing so the Uzukage thinks you're a bad guy, but you're not a bad guy so now Masato and I are doing everything we can to help you clear your name once and for all!!! Wheeeeeewwwwww!!" That one actually took a lot out of Zhi to say, but her special skill definitely pulled through in ways that nobody else could hope to copy. Talking fast was a Zippy specialty with no equal. Zhi rocked side to side where she sat, hoping that she'd explained everything as best she could without leaving any other important details out. This was a pretty serious matter but time was definitely against them right now. This girl was already building her resolve to defect from Uzushio if it meant she'd be able to protect Taylor from the senseless misunderstandings. Although, she also hoped that she could just vouch for Taylor and maybe he could start with a clean slate by putting her own reputation on the line instead. One way or another, she was going to protect her dearest Taylor from the cruel hands that fate kept dealing him.

Taylor listened as he traced out the words of certain words along the palm of his hand to better capture the overall theme of what Zhi was info dumping. The abridged version she was able to pull together was that apparently this was not his first rodeo with this amnesia. Furthermore, because he was for some reason with a rogue group, he now had a black mark on his record. So now they had to find someone named Shinsei to clear his name. Alright, so that's a lot.
"Well, do we know anything about this Shinsei person?" He asked. Taylor looked around and studied deeply the wooden beams which held the house nearby together. "I wonder..." He thought as he walked over to the structure. His bone swords littered the ground. If Shinsei and Taylor were here, and Taylor contributed the swords, maybe he contributed the wood? That would make him have some sort of wood bending bloodline. "If I had powers over plants and nature, I would want to go to a forest, right?" Taylor said as he turned to Zhi. He shrugged as he spoke. "I mean, it's as good as any, right? Are there any major forest lands we could traverse?" He asked with some confidence. He couldn't explain it, but he felt like he was right. Hopefully Zhi would know a place.

Space and time ruptured as the now familiar vortex forged itself from the air. The Uchiha male would step out from the hole, closing it behind him. He would over hear Taylor's last bit of questions he brought up to Zhi. " Nariomi-Sensei mentioned a place...once." He started his eyes shifting upward to the sky. He sighed. He'd never been so he couldn't use his Kamui skill. " The Sage Lands have a lot of nature chakra."

__ Zhi found herself thinking pretty hard and expansively about if she'd been to or visited anything like what Taylor described. Sadly, all Zhi had ever really known is desert, some savanna lands, and the stuff in or nearby the Land of Eddies. This beach was the closest to the Land of Fire she ever came and that was the most forest she'd ever seen. "Hrmmmnnnn..." Sadly, even Zhi knew that'd be too easy. Then Masato appeared again from wherever he'd been to give his input as well. Seemed like the best guess and lead they had so far. "Masato Muscle-sempai, LEAD THE WAY!" Wherever they were going was gonna be pretty interesting even if only because it was new.

Taylor stared curiously when Zhi referred to him as Masato. It wasn't someone he remembered, but deep in his heart he felt like he should. There was something stirring within Taylor as he stared at Masato. It may have been that the man was attractive, but he didn't feel attraction to him despite that. It was more like, he looked like something which he just couldn't put a word to. Horus squawked in agreement at the decision to go to the forest. Taylor felt no reason not to trust Zhi, so he allowed Masato to lead the way.

__ Sandayu walked out onto the shores of the Land of Fire through his Yomotsu Hirasaka gateway. After Masato joined him it would close behind his brother as well. His gaze was immediately turned out toward the sea and he sighed, 'Yes, this will do.' The mangekyo sharingan bloomed amidst his Rinnebyakusharingan and he held his right hand out toward the watery expanse. A silvery-bodied falcon with golden-tipped feathers and pale gray-violet eyes manifested in perch atop of his forearm with a message tucked away into a small tube attached to its leg. The parchment said little, and yet at the same time gave plenty of detail for the one it was intended.
"I await you at Hi no Kuni's coast. Destiny is approaching the Storm. ~Sanda"
With a subtle raising of his arm, the falcon flew from its perch to seek out Belamos in Arashigakure. It's special eyes would ensure that it's target was unmistakable located and its message was delivered promptly.
Sandayu turned back to Masato when he finished this simple task of creation and deployment. "We're expecting company, brother. I'm sure you recall the aggressive hotheaded man utilizing the Light Release back at Arashigakure's gates?" He smirked and rolled his neck a little to limber up a bit. "Belamos is a diplomatic, peace-seeking fool... if you'd believe that after meeting him." Sandayu remembered every detail of the past which Belamos shared with him. The older man had his reasons for how he was now, but he was determined to not give in to the weakness born from peaceful hearts.
The mangekyo faded out again and only the Rinnebyakugan remained active, "If you are prepared to understand the source of my strength, then I will now teach you the Code which I live and breathe with every action I take. It is the source of my resolve and the guide to achieving my destiny. I will recite the Iga Code and your lesson is to try to fully comprehend it in your own way." Sandayu took a deep breath then exhaled before continuing, "Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory my chains are broken." While he wasn't an especially expressive individual, anyone could take notice of the passion in his tone of voice. He didn't mean to preach, per say, but he was very much invested in the spoken code. As required, it was now time for Masato to approach this next lesson intellectually; although, Sandayu knew that even the least thoughtful of his dead clansmen could fully embrace the code with little effort.
With his bloodline training complete, Sandayu's clone sat himself down. It was time for another meeting with the Nanabi. He closed his eyes. He focused his mind to seek out the heavily restrained bijuu at the deepest depths of their shared mental realm. The inner realm was just as he last left it. Choumei remained locked away in his airborne sealing prison. The bijuu did not stir. The bijuu really couldn't do much being restrained by the influence of Sandayu's absolution power and the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan's hypnotism. Of course, the purpose of those measures wasn't for restraint. No, rather Sandayu maintained them to guarantee compliance and fealty. "Awaken, Choumei." The massive kabutomushi raised himself up on his sickle-like legs, stretched his wings then folded them down. Sandayu was pleased that the bijuu did not so much as resist in the slightest. He was pretty sure that vocal commands weren't actually necessary. Still, he enjoyed using them to control the bijuu. He raised his hand up toward the bijuu and began to draw information from its body. This was quite different than learning to simply command its chakra. Instead he was carving into the bijuu's essence itself. Through doing so he could draw on its memories and powers. It was interesting, to say the least. Choumei had quite the colorful past. Sandayu was sorting through the information. His investigating was processed from the most recent to the oldest of the Nanabi's memories. Choumei's opinion of Sandayu had very dramatically adjusted since being sealed. Fear and submission consumed the bijuu now. Before that, there were still signs of fear but also confidence in himself. That confidence was clearly misplaced. He went further back. Choumei didn't even so much as fear Sandayu before they were actively in contact with each other. "Hmph... what a foolish creature." In fact, the Nanabi seemed content with his prank-like interjections and treated his host like a new toy. Now he was back to the time shortly after having the Nanabi sealed. The beast was grieving for the loss of Nariomi. Choumei's rampage in Tengakure was, simply put, an outlet for his anger and frustration. Of course, this garnered no empathy or sympathy with Sanda. No, in fact it only reinforced his hatred for the tailed beast. To his knowledge, all of these creatures acted similarly with their overwhelming power. That was to say they were overwhelming for most. Moving through the void created, Masato felt the soft sea breeze. His hand raised to block the sun by covering his brow. The shade cast by the right hand would give him the ability to see further out toward the sea. The sound of gulls in the distance would accent the atmosphere. Somehow, he felt at peace with himself here. His focus turned to his brother as his arms dropped to his sides. The man who they intended to meet was of little consequence to him. " Seems unlikely he'll have much good to say if I'm here." Masato thought aloud.
Sanda would speak again, intent on embedding the code he had lived by into his brother. Masato took in each word, engraving it upon his heart. Peace was a lie. That was the first phrase. Masato felt somewhat broken upon taking it in. He had sought peace for the villages for so long, understanding with one another with Nariomi's code. Ninshuu had taught him that chakra was meant to unify one another, not be weaponized. He internalized this for years, only to realize that chakra was fashioned into nothing more than a weapon by the whole of humanity for millennia now. Ninshuu was a forgotten art. Only passion made from taking what he wanted, what was desired would bring him closer to his goals. Through passion, I gain strength. Masato was able to comprehend this fairly easily, assuming the passion was the act of violence he understood it to be. His warring against others with violence would create a strength within him. A resolve and a power unrivaled, just as it had for his brother. This strength would be necessary to continue his path. Masato would gather his own strength, surpassing all who stood before him. Through strength, I gain power. The power to overcome new foes and the power to influence those around him. Power over those who would obstruct his path. Masato's desire for strength both physical and otherwise would give him power over himself as well as the power to effect the world. His strength would demand respect. His power would lead him to a path of victory. Through power, I gain victory. This victory would be his release of restraints. He was no longer endebted to a village. No longer restrained by it's rule. Masato would gain victory over his former self. Through Victory my chains are broken. This would be the accumulation of everything in his past that had held him back. Prevented him from being the strongest. Everything that tied him to this world would be surpassed and he would finally ascend into his godhood.
Today, Masato would take his first steps on this path. He had accepted that peace was a lie. He knew that after what was done by him and the distrust in Arashigakure there was no way they intended to avoid war. He had harnessed his passion and hatred to gain strength...next, power. " I...think I understand. I am not far on this path, not yet."

__ Honestly, Sandayu hoped for and expected exactly what Masato had to say about their expected guest. It was a matter easily put aside as the lesson ensued. He watched Masato quietly contemplate the Iga Code, but gave little back. It seemed that he hadn't been clear enough about how this lesson would play out. "Let's reflect on the code. Peace is a lie; there is only passion." He briefly recited the first line again. Sanda was intent on making Masato show his understanding, not just say that it was understood. "What does this mean to you? How does it relate to what you know, and how is it relevant to your path toward mastering your power?" He folded his arms over each other just under his chest as he awaited a more comprehensive response from his brother.

His brother seemed dissatisfied with his answer. He wanted more clarification on Masato's interpretation of the code. He would sigh. It was easy to internalize the words, harder for him to verbalize his understanding. " Well." he said, folding his arm and lowering his head with closed eyes as he gathered his thoughts. " There is...no peace in the world. No unity." He spoke, referencing his Ninshu beginings. " Passion...is fufilling one's own ambition. If I am not restrained by notions of peace and the thoughts of others...then...that grants me strength." He paused, searching his brother's facial expression and body posture for signs of his thoughts.
