Ok, so he'd won twice now and still more little ones who wanted something won for them as well. he understood not having anything....and wanting something special - something that was just yours. he felt the same way about things, he just tried to ignore those feelings and not feed them. He understood it though and it was why he paid more for some more balls to throw at the cans, all in the hopes of winning some more for the little ones.
Thinking about it, as he threw the balls, he really didn't have anything that was his own...aside from himself and his own talents. But he didn't own anything really. If he left the orphanage he'd lose everything...he'd leave with nothing but himself. That was another reason to stay he supposed.

Okay, so it took a LOT of tries, but Luca finally knocked down all the cans! She squealed in triumph as she finally got a soft plushie. "So soft and wonderful," she crooned as she gave it a squeeze.

Yolie handed another plushie to another small child once more, the blonde turning to a little girl with red eyes from crying. She'd just missed the cans, but the older girl understood the pain. No little CHILD deserved to be sad over plushies, and so after gifting another win, Yolie paid up to toss again. People needed prizes and needed them NOW.

Giving a sideways glanced towards Accalia he winked and then threw his balls, and with that they handed him a stuffed animal. "I guess you called my bluff fair lady." He said handing her the bear.

So he had two more plushies to hand out to the little ones, oh how they seemed so happy! It made Liam happy knowing that he could give them something...something which could be theirs and that they could hold at night and play with during the day. Seeing them smiling, and being so happy, made him happy...provided him with what he needed right now. It was less painful to pay for more balls so he could try again. Throwing the balls, as he took aim, he was hoping to get more toys...maybe he could provide for a bunch more of the children...if he was lucky...he hoped he was lucky.

Ugh, he was chalking up another attempt on his list of failures, wasn't he? This was getting ridiculous and if he hadn't already won at least a little today, Owen would probably have finally given up by now. As it was, he stared down the stubborn can that refused to fall over for his last three tries and growled under his breath. He'd get it next time.

Amasis Maybe Loren would have better luck with the can knock-down game than the goldfish game. At least, he hoped so since this one was based a little more on skill than luck. There was an element in this one he could actually control, and maybe that would tip the scales in his favor when it came to the matter of actually winning a prize. That being said, he had not exactly spent much time in sports that worked out his throwing arm. He had never played baseball or softball, or even tee-ball, except maybe once or twice as part of gym class. It had been a couple years since gym class. He wound up and gave the toss a try, figuring now or later didn't really make much of a difference. One of the balls came close, but he didn't actually succeed in knocking any of them over. It was a touch disappointing if he was honest, but there was nothing stopping him from trying again. Looking around, he got back in line to do just that. Had he maybe put too much spin on it? He had no real idea. He'd just thrown the thing and hoped for the best. Maybe next time he'd actually plan it out. (209)
Amasis Okay, so, this time he was going to look at it, really look at it, see if he couldn't figure out which angle would be best to throw it from, what speed, underhand or overhand... Should he try to curve it from the left? The right? Okay, so he was overthinking this, especially since he really sucked at baseball and softball. How in the world did he expect to throw a curve ball if he was still at the "throw ball, hit things with ball" stage? Arguably, he was barely at that stage. He could "throw ball", but could he "hit things with ball"? That was the real question, honestly. When it was Loren's turn again, he rolled one of the balls between both hands, contemplating the target. They were just cans. How hard could it be? Four balls later, at least he'd gotten close again... once. The others had been bad enough that he apologized to the booth attendant for nearly hitting them with the single can he knocked over, cleared his throat, and hurried to get back in line. Okay, so both times he'd gotten close with one of the balls. It was proving more difficult than Loren perhaps wanted to admit. He was going to get them all, okay. He was. At this point, it was just the principle of the matter, regardless of if he wanted a stuffed animal. Though he did still want a stuffed animal... (242) Hey! He got it with one of them! That was progress! One of them was pretty close, so he was going to count that a win even if it wasn't good enough for getting one of the stuffed animals. The other tosses went wide, but not as wide as before, so he was willing to let that go. It wasn't like he had almost hit the booth attendant... again. Okay, one more try, then he was going to give it up. He did want a stuffed animal, but he didn't have the money to just... keep trying over and over again if he was going to suck at it each time. Plus, he was spending a lot of time in line. There was a whole festival to look at, after all. (131)

Didn't do so well this time, but she still knocked some cans down! Not too bad, not too bad...
Dione wasn't sure if she'd get one of the big prizes, but she seemed pretty likely to bring a bunch of stuffed animals home from this game alone!

She hadn't really thought her spurring them on would actually turn out so well. And then of course Kelly had to go and win her a bear. "Thank you, that was very nice of you to do." Throwing her balls one more go she came up short this time.

Cans.. Stayed up?
Yolie blinked, tilting her head. Well. She certainly could afford a vloss, but she WAS also invested now, and another dollar found it';s way into the attendant's hand as she hummed, preparing to throw again. At least the money went to good things!

Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Evren had her face puffed to look like she was constipated as she let one ball fly she wasn't able to knock much down. On her second try, she managed to knock down all the stacked cans. With a smile, she looked overly proud of herself. Holding onto the panda that she was given she her proud smile got even larger as she held onto the stuffed animal. Evren decided to go for another throw... and proceeded to miss every single time she threw spectacularly. "Ehe..." Well, that was certainly a waste. With another four balls, she managed to barely hit anything. In fact, she managed to hit someone on the back of the head. So she slowly backed away to take a break from throwing balls for a short while. When Evren returned to throw another four balls, she managed to, unfortunately, knock all of the targets down except for one. Evren's lips puckered and slinked down and away from the game again to rethink how she managed to knock down the pins the first time. Maybe she needed to throw a little harder? Returning back to the can game Evren decided to take a deep breath as she got another four balls to knock over the cans. Taking aim she threw each ball... and one after the other each one missed the target spectacularly. Evren let out a sigh and decided it was probably best to go and walk around for a little bit more to see if she should decide whether or not to return for another chance at knocking over the balls. Evren returned to the cans station and pumped her fists as she was ready to have another try at knocking over the cans. Of course, as predicted however she only managed to knock over three of the cans on the stack. Evren brought her hand up to brush her hair over her ear. She didn't think she was going to play this game for much longer and decided that maybe her next turn will be her last. Evren let out a grunt as she hurled the balls at the cans. She managed to get close but no cigar. Evren eyed that last standing coffee can like it was some sort of offense and at least to her it was. Making her think that maybe she should consider leaving this game after she taught that can a lesson.

Now even the cans were resisting him that much more. Too many of them had survived his throws, and so here he was another ticket down and with nothing to show for it.

Another plushie won and handed over to the little ones around him. With them all holding a plushie now he was working for the others...those not here with him, but with other orphanage workers. When he paid this time he took the balls and carefully threw them, thinking about the others and wanting them to not feel left out. He hoped he could win more plushies for them...he was doing good so far.
