Mizuki couldn't think straight and his concentration was off. The only one really paying any attention at that moment was Atiena, and though the Cubchoo was thinking of playing a game ...the Murkrow saw a darker purpose for the pokemon.
She would peck Mizuki once to make sure he was still on the move before fluttering towards him.
Brian wasn't really surprised when he came across a Numel. After all, it was a hot, dry area, and Numel were Fire-types, so it made sense. As he got closer to it, he saw it glance at him before smiling broadly, and he wondered what it was saying as it spoke. "Purr, what's it saying?" he asked, pulling out Purr's Pokeball and opening it. The Espurr materialized in a flash of white light, and when she saw the Numel, she listened as he spoke, asking if they wanted to play a game, or if they would try to force their way through. "Purr Espurr," she said. "Espurr Purr Espurr?"We'll try your game. What do you have in mind?
Riding the wind proved to be a far more effective tactic for the pikipek than it ever could have been for the bounsweet. It had still been risky as the bird pokemon barely managed to avoid getting worse than cold feet. Unharmed and undeterred, it was obvious that the angered mother would attempt to attack. The question was, who would be her target? The trainer that crushed her family, or the ghost that tried to end her life?
In an attempt to swing the vote in her favor, Garnet let out a sickeningly cheery giggle. >Oh my! How unfortunate~< the ghost commented sweetly as she swerved to intercept the pikipek's heated gaze. >And here I meant to reunite you with your children. I guess they'll have to suffer without you a while longer, drehehe~< the ghost then bobbed to the side, hopeful her taunt worked. Indeed, as a ghost, actually placing herself between a threat and her trainer would do little good. The most she could do was redirect the ire of whatever might want to harm the girl... and get out of the way if it worked.
Meanwhile, Naia backed up so that the trunk of the tree would be behind her and prepared to brace herself against whatever attack might come. She had no idea what her ghost was saying or if it would deter the enraged pikipek. She just knew that getting smacked would likely cause problems if she didn't prepare for it.
Dmg to Pikipei for using Brave Bird (16/5 = 3) Hp: 11
The flames in the Pikipei's eyes would suddenly go out at once. The bird seemed to shrink in size as though someone had dump water on her as she just floated there for a moment. Her entire mind turned it over and over in her head again the ghost's words.
(What did I do to you?)
The despair in her voice was thick.
(You both actually planned to kill my children to enrage me enough that I wouldn't notice you or your Icy wind. Why do you want me & my family dead? No!)
She suddenly fluffed to twice her size.
(It doesn't matter! I will destroy you both, since this was your plan...there will be no mercy!)
Any chance to talk this bird down had just disappeared with that single comment. This mother bird would now have a second target, and it didn't matter to her at all which one she took down first as she glares at the ghost.
A strange sound came from the pokemon's mouth as she cackles. She had just remember that ghost pokemon could not die, but there was a fate much worth then death a pokemon could achieve. Otherwise, why would one fight against being put in a poke ball, warm food, dry homes, and the fact that battle no longer would be tainted with the fear of death if one faints. It was paradise except for one much greater fear. What happens to a pokemon that trainer dies, and they are themselves are left forgotten in a poke ball?
(Yes, yes, I will join my children, but not before I send you back into that stupid poke ball to be lost forever in this forest and your trainer to the grave. Yes ...I will make you pay dearly, dearly)
Her entire body started glow yellow as she drove downwards not at Naia, she had given her word on what would happen, but instead at Garnet. She had gotten her wish as the pokemon used Brave bird. Her entire body blazing in a flash of yellow as she aim to hit the pokemon with her full force.
BRAVE BIRD = Con. type Cute = Physical Attack formula +5/5 = user damage
Bravebird is an attack where the user puts themselves at risk as they drive at their opponent to try and hit and get a powerful hit. It takes a truly brave bird to utilize this attack.
Once the Espurr had been released and started talking to the Numel to agree to a game, the pokemon then made a sharp noise. It seemed to be a signal of some sort as six Numel appeared and all had targets on their hump. Spreading out a specific distance, they started moving in different directions at different speeds and in many different ways. One might be running, the other jogging, ect. It wasn't a new game to them. The Numel looked at the Espurr and gestured towards the Numel in the distance. ">Your goal is to hit as many targets as you can. If you only hit one out of six, we shall immediately have you launch into a battle with one of my fellow brethren because that is an automatic loss. However you hit more then two and you'll win a prize. Good luck!<" The Camel would take a step back, showing that the pokemon could start whenever she was ready.
How to play tag! Roll one twenty sided dice and add your speed to get the total number. If your number is greater then the bear's, you win that round! There will be five rounds total.
The Cubchoo didn't seem to notice the odd gleam in the Murkrow's eyes. Instead it became more excited since it would seem that the pokemon was interested in playing. ">We'll play tag!<" the pokemon exclaimed. The bear took off running as fast as he could, spraying snow in every direction. It would seem that Atiena could chase the bear, play it's game or take this opportunity to continue on their journey while the cub was distracted!
Brian watched as Purr interacted with the Numel, and was surprised when six more Numel appeared, each with a target on their humps. It seems Numel wanted to play a game, and Purr has to hit the Numel with the targets, he thought. This would definitely be interesting, and he was curious to see what was going to happen. He just hoped they wouldn't have to battle. Purr nodded when the Numel explained the rules of the game to her, and as she watched, she noticed that all six of the Numel with targets on their humps were moving at different speeds. This is going to be a challenge, but I like a good challenge, she thought to herself, as she got ready to play the game.
Mizuki crunches through another thick snow drift as the sound echoes through the snowy field. Atiena turns to look at him as the bear takes off, and all hope of using that pokemon's fur for a fuel for her own flames extinguishes just as quickly.
Her trainer was risking death here, so there was no time for games.
She would huff once.
Her wings feeling the bite of the cold, but what was her choices here. They could continue on, but if the ending of this place didn't come soon he would freeze to death.
She needed that pokemon's fur.
Atiena would huff sharply as Mizuki started to pull himself free of the snow drift.
She would steel herself as she took off after the pokemon.
As the Numel moved around, Purr would hit three out of the six. Luckily she had not failed. Half wasn't bad at all. The other Numel would take off, leaving the trainer and his pokemon with the single Numel. Reaching behind a rock, the fire type would pull out a Nomel Berry and place it in front of the pair. With a wave goodbye, the Numel would also leave. The pair were free to move forward.
Cubchoo took three damage! 11/14 HP remaining! Round Two starts!
A line of blood appeared where the Murkrow had tagged him. The pokemon had hit harder then expected. The cub took off running once more to see if he could avoid the next tag!
Brian watched as Purr tried to hit the moving Numel, and smiled a bit when she managed to hit three of the six. That was pretty good, considering they were moving at different speeds and distances. "Well done, Purr!" he said, making the Psychic-type smile in return. Before she could move to her place on Brian's shoulder, the Numel they'd first encountered reached behind a rock and pulled out a berry, placing it in front of them, then walked away with a wave. As Purr picked up the berry and handed it to Brian, he saw that it was a Nomel berry, which was used to make Pokéblock. "That was pretty nice of him," he commented, as Purr climbed up and took her place on his shoulder. "Alright, let's get going, shall we?" The Espurr nodded once in response, and the two walked off to see what other Pokémon they could encounter.
Atiena was a little surprised at her own ability to catch up as she actually smashed into the pokemon. The force would tumble her into the snow, and though she was shivering, at seeing the Cubchoo take off again she would find her own wings to go after.
There was blood on the snow.
Maybe, this chase had a bit of a rainbow at the end of it ...afterall.
She would power her wings as she took off after her prey again.
Brian and Purr continued walking, and although it was hot, Brian was surprised that Purr didn't seem to complain about the heat. He knew she had to be hot, especially as she was covered in fur, but the Psychic-type was as stubborn as he was. He knew she wouldn't say she was too hot until she nearly passed out, but he would have to put her in her Pokeball before that happened. So he would have to keep an eye on her while they walked. "I wonder what we'll encounter next," he said, half to himself and half to Purr.
Round 2.5. In the case of a tie, another round gets added.
The Cubchoo was feeling better. The snow whipping across his face in his hasty darting had frozen the cut on his back. The polar bear began weaving first back and forth before starting in a big S shape. The pokemon was determined not to get tagged this time!
Brian and Purr had been walking for what felt like hours, though in reality, it had likely only been an hour or so. The hat Brian was wearing kept the sun out of his eyes, though he also had his sunglasses, just in case. He could feel Purr beginning to pant a bit, and he put his sunglasses on while removing his hat and placing it on her head. "This should keep ye a bit cooler," he said, and the Espurr didn't resist, knowing she wouldn't be able to keep going with as hot as it was if she didn't have some form of shade. She just hoped they could find some water soon, before they both became dehydrated.
