V'Rin Post 1
"I still don't understand how this is all that you need to wear to stay warm, Nell." There was amusement deeply rooted in his words as he shifted as best he could, mostly leaning heavily on his walking stick. His smile, a rare sight amongst the worried faces of most others, only seemed to brighten at Istanell's obvious annoyance. He leaned closer. "So, bets on how long it takes to actually come to a decision about these elusive creatures? I doubt it could take all day... but perhaps half?" He wagged his eyebrows at the other shifter, clearly delighted as Istanell's face became more and more disapproving.
After a few more seconds he raised his hands in surrender, hefting the walking stick up a little bit. "Alright, I can behave too." He stated, though his tone made it seem like that was entirely untrue. It seemed like a long time before the purpose of their gathering started to go into motion, but V'Rin was sure that in actuality not much time had passed. He was uncharacteristically quiet as the crowd swelled with opinions, the main targets finally being announced... Alkidikes. His face had become neutral, his head tilted just so, so that he could watch Nell subtly.

Eira Post 5 Yes, she was lucky in finding this one to escort her around, wasn't she? Just a cute young thing that got all flustered by her actions, which was enough to entertain her and get her mind off of what was going on for a bit. This was why she liked to make friends in such a manner. Giving the young warrior a smile she said, "Of course, and you're more then welcome to visit any time you like. I will even give you special rates on a room since you were so kind as to be my escort like this." Her attention for a moment turned back to those in charge but it seemed as though they were having their own debate? She watched for a time then blew a little breath through her bangs and said, "Hmm, seems as though they've gotten a bit distracted." She half wanted to call out to them, to see what else they knew, and what the plans of their people were going forward. She wanted to know but at the same time it seemed as though it was better not to rush everyone. Best that they got their thoughts in order. Smiling up at her escort she decided to focus on him until things were figured out and thus asked, "So, darling, do you have a name you're willing to share with me?"

Jacinthus Post 5 "Wouldn't it be nice if they would just disapear and stop bothering us." Jacin muttered, wishing that such creatures wouldn't stick their noses in the business of hard working people. They weren't so lucky though, those things always seemed to be skulking about, wanting to cause trouble, and ruin the lives of those around them. They were like a plague he thought to himself, one that seemed to be concentrating on the Alkidike and as much as he wanted to write it off as their problem he found himself wondering if maybe they were just picking that tribe off first. Would they move on to another after they'd taken care of the one that had the fewest allies? Lifting a hand he scratchit against his cheek, giving a bit of a sigh, "I'm curious to see what everyone decides going forward." The elders seemed to be talking among themselves, trying to figure out where they were going next. Given the reaction of the crowds he wondered if the elders were as conflicted or did they already know what they wanted to do? Were they just waiting for the crowd to come around. Jacinthus was almost fine with the idea of leaving it to the younger warriors that were eager to make a name for themselves at this point, but didn't want to leave them without experienced help at the same time.

Lixes Post 5 "Good. I don't like the idea of us abandoning them... though I feel at the same time that we really should let our parents, all of them, know what is going on." Especially since Jerami had a mother who was of pure Alkidike blood. If the elders were to be believed she was a prime target, right? Though from what he'd heard he almost felt bad for anyone that tried to take on that woman. Jerami made her seem bigger then life. Giving a little shake of his head Lixes said, "For the time being I will stay right here, even if the two of you are being way too cuddly for your own good." He stuck his tongue out at them before turning his attention back to those in charge. They seemed to be talking among themselves and he took a couple steps forward so he could try to listen in a little better. Seemed as though they wanted people to talk things out? Looking around then he could only hope that it went well since there were definitely those that were against helping the Alkidike against the Dretch. Surely some were for it, so it was a matter of waiting for those people to step up was all.

Jerami Post 5
Talking to his mother would be an interesting feat for sure. He wasn't exactly supposed to be this far from home without permission but it was important, he wanted to be in the meeting, wanted to help where he could. He gave a little twitch of his antennae, then gave a slight smile, "Thank you, Lixes." Looking up at Drexl he said, "You should be happy, Drexl. He's actually not wandering off for once."
So that meant that they wouldn't have to worry about getting a leash for Lixes to keep him from getting lost in such a massive crowd. He looked forward toward those that were in charge, then said, "What do you think they are saying? I can only catch a bit of it?" There were a lot of them up there chatting from various tribes and it really did make him curious. Not that he wanted to get any closer, he was quite happy right where they were. That was until Lixes took a couple steps forward.
Looking to Drexl he said, "Do you want to move up with him? Or just pull him back?"

Ergon post 5 Ergon glanced at the main stage and snorted. "This whole thing is just a big distraction," he said with a huff. Letting the crowd yell back and forth would do nothing except get people even more worked up. Perhaps that was all these meetings were good for. Why did he keep coming to them? Looking at the woman, he couldn't help stiffening a little more under her playful nature. "My name is Ergon, Miss..." She had not given a name herself. Would be good to know for finding the inn later if the need arose.

Istanell Post 1
It was true, most others he saw around had many more layers on. He had on a heavy fur, but he also ran extremely hot. Despite everything, the cold had been a good change from all of the hot lands he'd been in. Of course, it wasn't like he'd had a choice at first... his hand shifted to lay over his chest before dropping again. Glancing at V'Rin, a small frown puckered his lips. Was he seriously smiling, now? He glanced around the immediate vicinity... well. Not everyone was worried, but it was clearly the overlaying feeling. As he looked back he flinched, scowling now as V'Rin's face was so close to his own. Istanell's mind reeled to catch up with the words falling from V'Rin's mouth... what? Bets?
If he would just back up some... Istanell coughed as the other shifter gave up on whatever it was he was doing and after a moment Nell looked back towards the leaders. As the situation unfolded... his hands became tighter and tighter into fists at his side, his face draining of color. Help the Alkidikes? He suddenly felt a hand cupping the back of his neck, his gaze whipping to his companion... and then he sighed. He took a breath, he shifted and tried to loosen up all of the tension in his body as V'Rin's hand moved away. He licked his lips, "Even if we did unite, the issue is how do we fight something that can come and go as it pleases?" He called out.

Callum ll 3
"Yeah? Well, good riddance to them, then."
Callum hadn't known what to expect. The boy at his side had never displayed any love for the alk, and while he'd known that the comment still ran hot through his blood. It was enough for Callum's eyes to turn from softened, grey clouds to a tumultuous storm. Good riddance? Akiyal was just as blind as his dumbass father.
"My husband bloomed from a lotus, my sister was created the same way, and my children share their blood..." He slowly rounded on Akiyal, something akin to resignation and betrayal clinging to him. Why did he expect anything else? Why did he expect Akiyal to be one of the few to see through the veil when the boy couldn't even vocalize his own emotions without turning into a huffing toddler? "I don't like them, but I won't allow the Alkdike to fight alone. And if you really feel that way Akiyal... then you should stay in Sauti; you'll be safer here."
Time and time again the Alkidike had turned his family away. They shunned Nimueh when he asked for their children, same with his sister, and yet...Aisha herself had chosen to bring them into this world. Callum wouldn't shed any tears if the elders themselves died by the Dretches hands, but the swordsman would defend that goddess until his dying breath.
With or without Akiyal.

Elia ll 4
"My mother says that the Alkidike have more knowledge than anyone about them, so it should be their problem." Though in that aspect Elia was little more than her mother's puppet; mouthing the words while the older Zenan spoke for her. "I just...don't know if I believe that. I think it would be smarter if we went to help them, so if we needed their help they wouldn't be able to reject us."
From a business standpoint that made the most sense. Send what warriors they had, that were willing, and have them fight. And should they win, the alkidike might be a little nicer, since they would be indebted to them. Of course there was always the chance they would still lose, and that....that was truly terrifying.
"But that's easy enough for me to say; I can't fight. I'm not sure what I could even do to help."

Eira Post 6 "It does seem so. I'm sure that something will come from all of this. I can't see them gathering so many people together without good reason. That would just be a huge tease on their part, not something I'd suggest given the situation." Surely those in charge would offer up something other then just a bit of information. Just telling them who the primary target was would only turn people against the Alkidike and given them just cause to go home and not worry about the bug mages any longer. Giving a little sigh she turned her attention back to the young man that introduced himself and she couldn't help but smile, "It's very nice to meet you, Ergon. I must have been blessed by Chi herself to find you here in such a big crowd of people." Not that she felt it impossible to have found an escort among the others but she rather liked this kid. He was cute and the way that he seemed to easily get flustered added to his appeal as a companion for the day. Giving him her very best smile she said, "My name is Eira."

Hargitt l 4
"I thought so too, but the situation has changed." They weren't just looking for information now, but rather a way to defend themselves. "They may be having their own meetings for all we know; I'm not saying their methods are right, just that we ought to listen."
It was strange for the proud warrior tribe of Jauhar to ask for help, so Hargitt knew they must be in dire straights. For as much as anyone gathered here knew they could currently be engaged in battle, which was distressing enough. Hargitt didn't know how to make that sentiment clear to Jakkoa; that the fear of what if was pushing him to act more so than any righteous need to defend them.
He was right, of course; they likely shouldn't spare a single solider for the cause, and should instead focus on themselves. Hargitt furrowed his brow through Jakkoa's words, relaxing only when he closed his eyes and exhaled a steady, albeit stressed, breath. Was there a way for him to say 'you're right, but I don't care' without causing an argument? Likely not, but Hargitt didn't know any other way around it.
"...I'm sure you're right; your way makes the most sense, but it isn't sitting well." When he opened his eyes they were unsure, but steady in his resolve. No matter what came he would have to stand by his choice, which likely wouldn't end well.
"I would rather go to Jauhar and give it my all than to let even the weakest of Dretch near my bro- siblings." It struck Hargitt in that instance that there was a baby involved in all of this as well, and he just...he just couldn't ignore that. "But I won't go without you. So if you would rather we stay here we will. I'll just...make adjustments."

Maritza | 4
Her blood thrummed like hot oil beneath her skin, bringing Maritza to an anxious state of being. She didn't like crowds to begin with; once the shouting and discontent spread it was hard to hear anything from the people 'in charge' which made it so much worse. There were enough bodies pressed against her, hands brazenly tossing threats to make her wish they-
And all at once, they were moving away from her. She barely felt the touch at her side; if anything her full attention was on the bit of wind used to make them move. Her brows pinched together, wondering why no one else had seen, but then...her eyes turned back to Amalric, eyebrows jutting upwards as a smile curved onto her features.
"Thank you." She spoke low enough so that only those actively listening would hear, just so that his little 'trick' could stay a secret just a little longer. There was a solitary individual who had picked up on the subtle act; a Talean, with hair such a rich, deep red that Maritza may have found her attractive were it not for the unfortunate unevenness of her eyes. Maritza, in response to her scowl, pressing her teeth against her bottom lip and made a quick little 'hissing' sound, accompanying the act by moving her hand in a quick, dismissive gesture.
"Are your people usually so...passionate?"

 || Sauti IC ||
"They've debated long enough." As he spoke Enki glanced at the other representatives for affirmation. It would be troublesome if they were in disagreement as well. The fate of all of the countries was on the line and Enki understood that the peace keeping the countries together was a fragile thing. Should they take different paths now then it would only divide their world again for more wars, that was if they survived this one. Something he doubted could happen if the countries split now instead of coming together.
"Then present your stance." Ardah spoke, "Even my Academy has joined into this debate but you are the ones who hold the greater history here." His gaze was steady as he glanced across the crowd so that those listening could hear his words and see his determination, "Belrea may not have any old ties with any of your countries but we are a country that understands how working together paves a way towards a brighter future. If these Dretch have come for our races before what is to stop them once they are done with the Alkidike?"
"I might actually start liking this man." Commented Enki with a grin towards his brother who also was studying the crowd, "Care to voice your opinion?" If anything he knew that Enlil was the one whose voice could easily create stillness in times of turmoil and it was his help he needed now.
"I will." Enlil took a deep breath before passing his brother to stand in front of the bickering crowds, "Everyone! If I may have your attention please." His words carried surprisingly well and even the winter winds seemed to quiet down for the gentle mage, "I understand that you have doubts about this situation and I will admit that it is indeed a fearsome thing to prepare for a battle with an unknown enemy. However despite all of this we have over came many battles before and while yes we did fight against the Alkidikes who invaded Sauti it was not all of the Sisters that intended us harm. In fact many fought for us against those that they once and still may consider as friends and family. Are we to ignore the sacrifice of many just for a select few who were greedy and arrogant? Do you not think that if the tides were turned that the Alkidike wouldn't fight for us once again as they did here in Sauti and even in Oba?" Enlil's words had stilled the crowd and now there were only the faintest noises, many of which were acceptance of his words.
Save for one person who brought up another point, a final reason to try and hold onto hatred and fear, "What of those Extremist and their spawn? We know nothing of those creatures as well! What if they want to use this as a chance to come back and take over?"
Enlil closed his eyes against the accusations that suddenly sprung up in the crowds. Enki was correct about nothing ever being so easy but Enlil was not deterred. Instead he waited a moment before holding up a hand to gain attention back to him, "You are correct that we know nothing of these Elarian save that they are raised by those who despise us. However is this not a chance to try and show good faith? If we can use another enemy to get one enemy in line by a truce then perhaps it will benefit us all. The Elarians are few and a baby race that we can show our strength to and prove that we can work together with in order to save their own future as a race."
"Should these Elarian seek our aid then we could take the time to learn more about them. Surely assisting them will earn some gratitude and if not we can deal with them after this battle. I do not advise trusting them but we all know that the Dretch are a far worse threat." Enlil and Enki both were startled as Freya's words drifted around them, "While it is tempting to hide in the mountains of Zena their words bring a point. We have history with Alkidikes both good and bad. We should not ignore them, especially when the enemy could be coming for us next. Debate more if you so desire but I know my vote will be with the Alks."

Jakkoa | 5Jakkoa bristled. He was listening. And everything he heard made him more convinced this was nothing they ought to be dealing with. Certainly not now. No one had even suggested the alkidike were asking for help, let alone offering actual information. Not one of them was here to represent their own race despite how ‘in need’ they apparently were. And with nothing more than what they had, what were they to do to begin with? No one yet had discovered how to fight these beasts, and now they had changed targets. Why would they do anything other than watch for now? If anything, attacking could draw the Dretch’s attention back to them for no cause. “If there was any reason given to think we’d be more capable of combating them now than we have been, that we could actually do anything against them, that we knew anything, that anyone had actually requested aid and had some proposition for how to go about defeating them them—if there was any information...perhaps my opinion would be different,” Jak said. “But there is not. Our leaders are standing here speculating the worst and telling us we should take arms to fight with no explanation of why other than we must ‘unite to defeat evil’ ‘just in case they come for us next.’ They will have to provide more reason than that for me to go anywhere.” "I would rather go to Jauhar and give it my all than to let even the weakest of Dretch near my bro- siblings.”Jak could have screamed. “There is nothing yet to suggest they would be after us!” Go to Jauhar. “You can do whatever fool thing you wish, but if you think I will set foot-” “But I won't go without you.”Jakkoa frowned, words stalling for an instant at least. He wanted to give the man some credence for his dedication. To show he could be flexible at times. But this just wasn’t the issue he was willing to do it for. Some of the snap, though, did edge out of his words as Jak shook his head. “I am not going to Jauhar. You, of course, are welcome if you change your mind…but given what we know now, it does not begin to convince me it is a good idea for any of us. Our own leaders sound full of high ideals and hot air that will get our people killed. There is just as much likelihood so far as I currently see it that mounting an attack against the Dretch now would inspire them to begin attacking us again just when they have stopped…” He rolled his shoulders, and let out a reluctant sigh as he glanced up toward the center group. “My aunt fought in the war against the Obans,” he admitted at length. “And to protect my family…” His gaze wandered sidelong, to Hargitt, “…to keep you standing, I would fight, for the right cause. I just do not believe this is what we need to be doing.”

Ergon post 6 The woman's easy flattery was almost too much for the youth! "Miss Eira," he confirmed slowly, gaining his bearings. He glanced at the stage as more direct speaking came, but it had lost his interest already. As if he would go fight for those creatures.. "If it was a war that involved the whole of Tendaji, I doubt that the extremists were just 'a few' of the lot," he muttered coldly. Nope. Could not bring himself to care. "Miss Eira, will your friends be along shortly, or would you care to go wait someplace where there is not all this pointless debating?"
