Namira post 3

As tensions rose she was relieved to hear her matron say what she was thinking. The words from the other side were pleading and again without substance or answers. Naqenni's response surprised and impassioned her. She had never seen Naq like that before. (it was kind of hot) Her face flushed with pride and she placed her hand on her shoulder to show support.

"This is not going to turn into a peace ceremony. We are here to exterminate this threat if it is within our means. We are not here to exchange niceties or pretend to be polite to each other so let us get to the point of it." She had pushed herself forward towards the middle.

"So what has been done up till now? Have there been traps made or tracks found? What attracts them and when?"
She was tired of pretending to be polite to these weaklings and their freaks. She wanted to get in and out of there so they could get back home to their Elzira. They needed to tackle this problem head-on, sitting back and whispering to each other had produced nothing.

Zigaran Post 7

Zigaran couldn't help but to grit his teeth to the point that his jaw hurt as the outsiders set about speaking so poorly of not only of his people but of the mystics in particular. They were blessed women able to speak to Aisha, they afford respected, even from a bunch of unnatural outsiders. A shame that Mystic Eshe seemed to be so eager to ally with them. What was the point when their numbers were so small? Unless they meant to use them as a sacrifice? At least then they would have use.

Giving a little shake of his head and a derisive sound between his teeth he muttered to Mnyiri, "They are fairly arrogant for mere shadows of the Alkidike." Shifting himself slightly he put himself between the pink hued creatures and Mnyiri, wanting to protect her just in chase they decided to do anything more then throw around insults. Ones that were rather amusing given that hybrids like themselves were born of Aisha's love while they were abominations that could only poorly mimic the Alkidike.

Tyiva - 3

“Did you hear?” Retorted Tyiva from nearby, “Sometimes I worry if anything goes through with the way some of you keep that mouth open.” Obviously not much else they would stop their whining about how much they were putting aside to be here. If they were so strong then they could go deal with the Dretch on their own, but that simply was not happening now was it? Else the Matron wouldn’t have dragged these off Alks here. Thank Aisha that these blooms appear so strange. I’m glad we can see them from a mile away now instead of having to wait for a Sister to stab us in the back first. They wouldn’t have even come into this world if not for the exiled Alkidikes so what gave them the right to act so superior? They had such puny numbers and so many of them so young and without any true battle experience...it was laughable. Yet for the necessity of her people she would bare it, even if she doubted these Elarians would bring much aid to the battlefield.

“It’s less about chatting up peacefully and all, but I would think that many Sisters find it hard to fight next to those who would spear them the next second if they could.” Tyiva replied as well, her gaze narrowed, “Obviously we have to come to some truce or arrangement...surely there’s honor enough for that so that we can know that we won’t be fighting our Sisters again as well when the Dretch come.”

Danika - 6

Danika forced a smile towards the Elarian who had spoken up, “I would like to think so.” She brushed off the insults as if they were nothing to her. She just had to imagine the group like young impatient blooms - they were similar to many toddlers she had seen throwing a tantrum after all. There was a bigger picture and she was not going to be deterred from it - not when it seemed many Sisters and Extremists alike were starting to listen. The thought made her straighten her shoulders and loosen the fingers that had clutched at her skirts, “I’m also certain that if the Dretch were so easily captured or fought that we all would have done so already. The most our warriors have done is save a sister or two by critically timed attacks. Attacks that only scratched the surface of the problem before the Dretch disappeared into thin air again.” She tilted her head, as if daring someone to doubt that, “As it is everyone travelled here today so that we can gather and build our forces to find a way to fight them. Staying separated when the Dretch just slip in and out as they please has done us no good. Uniting like this, even for a temporary truce, is the first step to defeating them. Trust me, I no more want to sit around idle than you, if possible I would go invade the Dretch today and drive my blade through a throat or two. They have taken too many already, but we must be wise. If we act recklessly then we could lose everything with one move. Our homes, more friends, our own lives, and the very future...”

“So we will work on setting more traps, researching more on the Dretch, on sharpening our blades, preparing ourselves and we will march to others that can aid us. That way when the time is right we can move as one solid force against the Dretch. If any of you have had personal experience with them, have battled against them and made it out then we’ll gladly hear your words but for now we must just gather our strength. The full strength of Tendaji….” Her mentor had whispered their intentions and even the Matron was informed of it. Danika glanced over towards them now and saw the tension in both of their shoulders. While Eshe seemed appreciative of her speech it was obvious that the Matron was still frustrated with the fact that this truce was even a necessity.

Danika took a deep breath to ease her racing heart. This had to work, it simply had to! Please Aisha bring some peace out of this. Maybe just maybe too working together could somehow bridge the gap created by anger between the Sisters and their new Cousins.

Pyrrha ll 6

"I do not like the idea of leaving Elzira unattended for so long, but-"
maybe it's worth it. Naturally her voice was drowned out by those with much stronger, impassioned opinions on the matter, but Pyrrha was used to it. Her sisters and cousins were nothing if not zealous; she just wished they could calm themselves long enough to come to a consensus. She may not like the way things were coming together, but she had to admit that working together seemed better than fighting the same fight with an ocean separating them.

It was obvious to her that Aisha needed help from her true daughters, and that the Elaria, as extensions of her, could aid her. Those that remained behind were simply not strong enough to carry the battles, so it was up to them. And maybe, after seeing how right they were, the alkidike on Chibale would find their true path.

She thought she could hear Myrcella over the crowd, spouting out just as many discouraging and unhelpful statements as everyone else. Pyrrha could see Pruu, but her twin wasn't much happier about all of this than their big sister, which was discouraging. You expected something else? They were all ignorant, sure, but the children didn't deserve this; Aisha didn't deserve this.

Mnyiri - 6

"That's what happens when you're isolated and told you can do no wrong."
She murmured back, taking care to stay away from the more heated arguments. Mnyiri had already had her chance to see the Elaria when she was on Yael; she didn't like them then, and she didn't much care for them now. They were loud, rude, and poor imitations of alkidike. As different as Mnyiri was herself, she could tell when something had been twisted. The toxic soil of Yael had warped them, and coupling that with their alkidike 'mothers' influence it was little wonder they turned out they way they had.

Vermina post 7

Looking up at the hybrid's concern, Mina's face flushed slightly. "How can anyone be okay in such a situation as this is? No one here is okay!" She needed order and calm and stability, and this was no such thing!
No, she could handle herself, right? She was training. She had chosen a path. Nothing in life is certain.
But some things were! Taking a deep breath, she shakily reached her hand up to hold it over Rishima's as it rested on her shoulder. "I apologize for causing you concern," she murmured, trying to force herself back to a more level mindset, slowly pushing herself back up. After all, the young mystic was remaining tall in the face of the anger of the strangers... Mina wanted to be able to do the same.

Pruu post 7

Sucking in a deep breath, Pruu crossed her arms and clenched her jaw. This was getting them no where. Nothing said had settled her mind about her home. They remained on the island with fewer warriors than they had. What if the Dretch attacked there?

She glanced around as well, noting how her present family was reacting. Fassala was waving her arms like a lunatic, encouraging those around her of the need to stay and work from here. Myrcella took quite the opposite view. Pyrrha... well, she thought she could guess what her twin was thinking. Possibly.

Shaking her head at herself, Pruu's gaze flashed back forward. Working with the cousins of Chibale... the weak and disloyal cousins who chose the earthlings over their sisters... She glared at the Alk near the other side's young mystic and curled a lip in disgust. "Yes.. it would be nice to know that your plea for peace is more than a mask for being able to sneak and 'spear' those you turned your backs on once already," she hissed.

Namira post 4

Her ears hushed the others to listen to what Danika was saying. She sounded reasonable enough and carried herself like a true mystic. The ways she spoke about the Dretch made it sound as if they didn't have a form or could appear and fade like vapors. "Whatever our ancestors used to fight these fiends has truly been lost to us." Namira shook her head in dismay. If the elders and the matrons did not know of a way. She could finally see where this was leading. Once again they would be taking their problems to the earthlings. It made her feel helplessly frustrated at the idea. Coming here was bad enough but going to them for help was appalling.

To think that any of those animals could be good for anything but fertilizer was unthinkable. Namira had heard about mages and scholars, types of earthlings who squirreled away information and used magics. One of them might know something her kind do not. While Alkidike and Elaria were superior in every other way, magic use was one of the earthlings unique quirks.
While Namira tried to concentrate, some of the insults began to slip in. She had to clench her jaw to hold back her own snaping that came out as an aggressive huff. She glared at one of the misshapen things that was spouting insults. She took note of every word as she seethed. She would remember every one of their ugly faces. She would not kill them today, but she wanted to remember them well for when she hunted them in the future.
She took a deep breath and held her eyes closed for a moment to calm herself. Everything about her wanted to take her spear and cut every one of them down that instant. Her muscles twitched with anticipation and it pained her to hold back. But she knew it wasn't the time. Not yet, patience. Patience. Her mother's voice echoed in her head.

"Mystic,"
she addressed Danika directly, something she normally wouldn't do, but the room was increasingly becoming an open forum. "Do you mean to suggest the earthlings might hold information about these creatures magics that we as a collective don't?" The question in itself sounded like an insult to the alkidike and elaria because it was. It was painful to think that they didn't have all the answers. It was beginning to look like the alkidike didn't know anything helpful about the dretch after all.

|| Alkidike/Elaria IC ||

The older mystics watched on as one of the young mystics tried to ease the crowd. As much as the Matron hated the current situation even she knew that if anything was to be done about the Dretch, if she could protect the future, their Elarians, then this truce would be necessary. Still it didn’t stop her from digging her nails into her palms as she watched the crowds shifting, some still muttering but many calming their gazes narrowed yet determined despite the tension in the air, “Enough! We did come here.” She began loudly to silence those who were still hissing at each other, “Because the Dretch are a vile race and only an army of great strength can defeat them. I do not enjoy this, but I know that a truce is what our future relies on.” They could go their separate ways once this disaster was prevented - something that she already looked forward towards greatly - but that would only work if they stayed for now and fought together.

Together with those that she despised even more than the weak Sisters who had chased her own out of Chibale. The thought made her feel sick to her stomach and she could only nod towards Eshe and let the Mystic take over.

Slowly Eshe moved forward, “We obviously all know the necessity of a truce. If anyone would dare to contest it then I would worry about the future of all of us, regardless of our personal opinions or not, but this truce does not stop between us.” Her gaze slowly surveyed the whole room, “We do have some knowledge, some ideas to be shared but first we must take our knowledge of the Dretch and bring it to our final allies….the earthlings. We are hoping that with their aid we can find the Dretch and eliminate them.” She knew that this would cause a stir, but the older Mystic was prepared. It was what had to happen after all and whether or not everyone was happy was not her worry. Aisha had made the decision for them, the arrival of the Dretch had sealed their fates and the only way to change that was to deal with their issues and unite with those that shared this world with them.

Namira post 5

She threw her arms up in frustration. This is what they were lead here for! Crawling to the damned earthlings! Namira made an angry groan for her aggravations. She hated this, she hated that the matron was right. She hated that they were in this situation. What if they go to the earthlings for help. What if they actually agree to it. What if they actually did help and the dretch were defeated.

The instant the threat is over, her family and the elarians will be the next target. Being that far from home is not where she wants to be found in that situation. Anytime anything bothers the earthlings they rally together and kick it back into the dirt just as it begins to sprout. Earthlings are dumb and short-sighted, and there were so damn many of them!

Muttering curses Namira pushed her way through the crowd towards the entrance of the hall. She needed some air, she needed to scream, she needed to kill something.

Elf Princess Flannery

Naqenni | 6

Some knowledge, they said. Some ideas.

They had come all this way for ‘some’ ideas, and one of them—first, we must take our knowledge to our final allies…the earthlings.

“Are you all mad?” Naqenni snarled. “We come here, and you have nothing of use to say to us but that you have ‘some’ knowledge but first you have to share it with slime though we are standing before you? I would rather die than call an earthling an ‘ally’ and if this is all the use you are then-”

Naqenni could not stand it. There was a sickness roiling in her gut messily alongside a fury she had no target for. She felt ill with her anger, shaking at the combination of factors: first they were brought here only to be in pitiful numbers and mocked for it, then the so called ‘leaders’ of their once-enemies could only stand to put themselves before them and blather and talk down to them with the promise of ideas and knowledge but no delivery, and then-

This.

Earthlings would be spoken to before anything more would be said.

Out of the corner of her eye, Naqenni glimpsed Namira’s reaction. The girl had already been forthright with her voice thus far in an impressive manner, and she knew despite the fact that she was a strange face amongst her sisters — a young alkidike, unlike most of their older caretaker mothers — she was loyal to the cause. Naqenni reached as she moved by and paused, hand catching the girl’s wrist.

I have nothing further to listen to here…if you would prefer to take a step outside with me, I welcome you. I fear if I breathe their air any longer my arrows will accidentally impale themselves in the ‘wrong’ body…”

Danika. Eshe. Her own Matron at this point, if the woman had brought them here with any inkling of what was to come—and how could she not? Someone could have argued to the ends of the earth that this was the ‘only’ way, but to Naqenni it was not an option to begin with. The earthlings were ground worms. She and her entire race of sisters were a new beginning, destined to hold themselves to a higher standard.

And this was pathetic.

She would sooner die proud and fight on her own soil than simper in behind these fools who clearly expected them to simply agree because they had ‘no choice.’ She sneered. Soon they would see that she, if nothing else, had standards, and this was not the way to ask for her bow in battle.

Namira post 6

She had been so enraged Namira didn't see Naq's reaction. So when the grey sister grasped her wrist Namira nearly swung back a strike at her. She was instead relieved it was one of her own and gave her a short nod in response. If someone had tried to stop her at that point or if one of the misshapen things had touched her instead, there would have been blood on the floor. Her fuming was noticeable enough that the others stepped aside as she made her way out with Naq.

As soon as she was in the open air, she grasped one of the training spears leaning against the hall. Namira let out a yell and swung the spear so hard at the ground it splintered in half. She was beyond words. She could not express her frustration and rage in any other way. It was as if they were asking her to go against everything she was and stood for. She could hardly tolerate the half-breeds as it was. She should have known they would have wanted to ask their earthling lovers for help. It always comes down to them.
Namira turned to Naqenni, "They just- How? Why would they- Aaaagh!" She was pacing and pumping her arms. "This whole thing has been such, a waste of time!" She held the broken half of the spear and with both hands tried to break it again without success. All the restraint she had shown up till now had taken its toll and she couldn't contain herself.
"The earthlings should fear us. If they do anything it should be because we demand it of them." she pointed her finger angrily at the hall. "We come here and they wave those half shapen things in front of us. Invite those things into their sacred hall like they are proud of it. I should not be surprised they want to seek out their animal lovers. They have not changed a bit in our absence. They will choose earthlings over Aisha every time."

Elf Princess Flannery

Naqenni | 7

Naqenni knew they were in the midst of perilous times. If losing a sister to the earthlings was one thing, those that had simply vanished at the hands of the Dretch were another entirely, and though it had been some time before the attacks finally focused almost solely on alkidike, even a few Elaria taken by comparison to the other races was a massive blow as a fledgling race.

But her caretaker mothers had fought a war against the world, outnumbered and impossible, clashing not only with their own sisters but the other races, single-handedly attempting to remake and restore their culture to their vision.

They had failed, and been banished to Yael as a result. At the time, all they had taken with them was their pride.

And they had begun anew, against all odds. Stand-alone fighters against all the objectors had reforged a new image of their people and began again with the Elaria. Her sisters, as they were, with all their spirit and force and unwillingness to bend—that was what her mothers and all their sisters-at-arms had risked their lives for, been banished for, created her entire race for and continued to have faith and raise them in their image.

Times were hard. But their pride and strength was all they had, and anyone who thought so little of that as to spit upon it, waste their time with trivialities, say nothing, and then expect them to rise in arms for no reason not only with their once-enemies, but with the very things they had been banished for fighting against? It was madness.

She watched on in silence initially as Namira screamed and splintered the first weapon she grasped, the sound echoing under her skin and in her blood. Even if she had yellow alkidike skin, Namira was among the most loyal to their namesake as they came. She rolled her shoulders, and breathed out, shaking her head as she collected her thoughts, and turned wandering milky orbs upon the alien forest all about her.

“It was a foolish risk beyond any we could afford even to come here,” she murmured. “We have lost sisters…but our mothers made their ends here and not even fear of death should have driven them back. That we arrived should have been sign enough that we needed answers for saving our sisters. That they thought, for one instant, that that would mean we were ready to roll over no matter how useless they were, with no information of their own, and simply accept-”

Naqenni grimaced outright, her fingers bunching into fists. But it all came down to the same thing:

“It was a mistake to come. If they wanted our aid, they should have requested it, not the other way around. Coming like this is an embarrassment to what we are. My mothers would have died defending our homeland before coming to beg at the toes of fools…” And perhaps she should have. Part of her had wanted to, she had been so adamant against the trip.

But Nivalis had had to come. The Matron had allowed nothing else, and so, because Naqenni could not simply leave the future of their tribe to such madness without at least being present, she had come. She had even offered her bow to them, eventually, on the thought that perhaps—perhaps that might have inspired answers.

But it seemed at this point that these alkidike knew no more in actuality than their Matron. They were cowering and failing just like the rest of them, so desperate even that they had made the ‘decision’ that they needed earthling aid, and yet they had the gall to pretend they stood on higher ground and ought simply to be followed while they stumbled blindly on empty promises. ‘Some’ knowledge. ‘Some’ ideas.

It made Naqenni’s skin crawl.

“I cannot wait to return home. I hope to die there destroying whatever dares come to our door.”

Ceylinae Post 6

Ceylinae nearly choked on her own tongue as they were told what the next step would be going forward, something that had her starring. They were... they were supposed to work with not only these traitorous sisters but also with the Earthlings as well? It was something that she couldn't even begin to wrap her mind around. They had come this far for information that would help the Elaria, something that would let them fight the Dretch, but they hadn't gotten that information. Instead they got... tricked.

She opened her mouth, about to make a comment on that when suddenly one of her cousins went stalking out... and much to her surprise Naqenni followed, "Ah... sister?" She was leaving? What of the others? Her eyes were quick to scan those that were still present, taking in what they were doing, what they might be thinking, the way they held their bodies. She then turned to look over at Nivalis and asked, "Mystic?" What did she think? What would she do going forward? Would Nivalis leave as well? Were they all going to walk out save for maybe the Matron that seemed to be alright with all of this.

If Nivalis and the others left then she'd leave as well. As it was though she didn't trust to leave the others behind just yet, not when she didn't really trust the others in the room and what they might do next.
