Even after Seraphinite fell, Aue simply
stood, hands in loose fists at his side, blood seeping slowly down to pool in fabric and boot in uncomfortable ways he would have noticed were he in any shape to do so. He could barely hear the pained wheeze of his fallen opponent, the entire arena seemed to have been covered over with a cloth, muffled.
He had
won. He had taken on a worthy adversary in combat and bested him, hard-fought or no. The result was important. This is what Aue had been trained to do, what he was
expected to do. Prizefights were
different animals than scrapes out in the actual world, one didn't take such damage unless one had to, in true combat. Not if one wanted to survive, let alone
thrive as he did.
A familiar shock of pink hair, a bright orange fuku. Tourmaline and Kamacite.
She offered him a starseed and he took it with fingers numb and bloody; a human soul glittering beautifully in his sticky and stained hand. "I do not enjoy being carved like ham." He looked from her to Kamacite, putting the crystal in his teeth and cracking down on it - the last time he'd had one, he'd been wearing
white and it had made him horribly sick. This time it was completely different and he understood well just how pleasant they could be - and why there were admonitions to partake sparingly.
Kamacite's robe made him suck in a breath as the heavy weight of it fell on his shoulders and the open wounds there,
it hurt to have something new touching the gashes Sera's blades had left. Before he could either thank or curse his packmate, General Aurostibite was waving his red flag and declaring Aue the winner.
Not wanting to cause more damage to himself but also not wanting to make a poor showing to the host of the Tournament, Aue brought his right fist up over his chest and inclined his head to Auro, "Thank you, General. It was an honor."
And then, there was Wolfeite, standing aloof as Tourmaline and Kamacite made to assist him to the sideline and the medical tables. Wolfeite with the ears perked and tail twitching interest, with the eyes blazing unholy and
hungry and
pleased like he'd been offered something rare and delicious and wanted to savour it.
Aue stepped forward, pressing his right arm against his stomach to hold the wound shut, his packmates close and lending support. "
Sir," He bowed his head to the half-youma general, offering respect to the one that had recruited him and brought him into this world so that he might one day
have this moment of bloody, brutal victory.
"I am happy to have pleased you, my General."
Unsteady on his feet, Aue turned his head to Kamacite for a moment, "I have need the big kit from home, with the stapler." Because as much as he might want to bask in the moment, he was losing a
lot of blood and had some really nasty wounds to tend to if he wanted to be in any shape for the next round, Aue had to push on to the sidelines for medical treatment.
