Azura KnightCecil seemed at odds with their professor, narrowing his eyes as he gave his name. Azrua found it odd, though she wouldn't comment on it now. It was a question to be asked later in a more private setting. “Greetings Nurse Ziegler.” Azura said simply to the nurse with a mechanical arm, though she was mildly concerned about the nurse losing her arm. Had someone taken it, or had she miss placed it. As cruel as it sounded Azura hoped it was the first, as she wasn't sure how she felt about a nurse who was so careless as to lose a whole arm. While she hoped no one got injured on the very first day, it did seem wise to to have a nurse on hand for combat class. The girl she had seen earlier during the opening ceremonies, the one who was at least friends with the girl who had kicked down the door, though Azura suspected they were related, suggested some students might be hung over. “I certainly hope not. What kind of huntsmen in training gets drunk the night before the first day of classes?” It was like partying the night before a mission if they were full huntsmen. Certainly not the kinds of students worthy of Beacon. “Heeeere!” Azura turned to see teen pop idol Beryl Valentine failing about and waving her arms. Not that she paid much attention to celebrity culture, but the cat Fanus all done up in pink was famous and striking enough to be easily recognizable. 'What is she doing here.' Azura couldn't help but wonder. It wasn't a cruel thought, but one of genuine curiosity. She already had a career as a singer, and had probably already made more money than she ever would as a huntress, so why was she at the combat school? Professor Gregshell started speaking again, interrupting her thoughts. She was glad at least he was taking on time being serious. What would happen if Beryl Valentine failed to move the fountain? Cecil took the answer Azura would have given, so she chose another. “Teamwork. Being able to rely on your fellow huntsmen and work together to defeat an enemy.”Post Count: 39

××××[ Well that was easier than she thought it’d be. From the sound of it, this Xandria girl isn’t all too cautious about new people, or at the very least she’s fast to trust someone. Rori smirks at her being given permission to join the crew, at least, from this girl’s perspective. After which she stretches out her arms and lays back with one leg propped over the other, giving the teacher her undivided attention. Not that she cares about the things he’s saying right now. “So he wants to know what helps ya survive out there? Well it certainly isn’t teamwork. That helps, but if you’re alone you still have to survive, yeah? The answer is a clear head and attentiveness.” she starts while staring up at the sky.
She has lived outside the walls of civilization for so long, that she more or less has that down packed. Many-a-times you’re put into a situation where you can’t get help. In such cases, you’re not going to give up and wait to be saved right? No. “You need to know your surroundings, the situation of your body, and stay focused. Steadily progress, but never get greedy. Rest when you can, then keep moving. Cause the rule of thumb is, the longer ya stay out there, the more chances arrive for you to get picked off.” she huffs now, remembering that harsh lesson she was forced to learn back then, and how she barely made it out alive. You can be as strong as you want, but there is always something stronger, and steadily looking to hunt you in particular. “You ever been in a life or death situation, Xanny?” ]

<< Angela Ziegler + Medic/Nurse >> Angela looked to the Professor and sighed. It was a rather crude punishment for being late, but it wasn’t her class. "Drunk Students happen all the time." She moved off the fountain. She scanned the group of student, seeing one had a question or at least a curiosity about her limb. But it was a question she would answer later and in a more private setting. 4Jessica Morrison Jessica looked to the teacher, then to the fountain, then back to the teacher. "Communication, team work, coordination of attacks and semblance. Effective combat is turning individual minds into one cohesive unit. Planning is useless, a plan is worthless as soon as the first step taken. But if you can turn four minds onto a single objective, to share intelligence, it can be a force of destruction." She had seen it, she had seen individual minds become one devastating unit. She firmly believed it would be something they would need to win back Atlas. 14

She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

A few moments after she had arrived, the teacher at the fountain bargain speaking. The timing was such that at first she feared she actually had been late and that she was about to be lectured. The brunette let out a soft huff of air, a sigh of relief, when she realized he was merely introducing himself. She had arrived on time after all, but only just in time. He went through a list of their names, which he seemed to have memorized. That was a start. Now there was just the task of matching them to faces. A few students stepped forward as their names were called, Ridley, simply gave a small wave as he called her name, figuring that would be enough. He continued his speech for a moment, before realizing there were students missing. As if on que, a blonde girl came running towards them, arms flailing as she made her rather loud entrance. She looked familiar, but Ridley couldn't quite put her finger on it. Ridley was in a sense relieved that she wasn't the only one to make late, dramatic entrances. Was that a bad thing? Maybe... She thought, answering her own internal question as she remembered the embarrassment she had felt at the opening ceremony the night before. Then again, this girl didn't seem the slightest bit bashful by her appearance, so maybe not. Erin Gregshell dished out his punishment to her, a bit harsh maybe, but proved a point all the same. Ridley made a very strong mental not to never be late to his class.
With that said and done, he went on to ask them a question. A few students spoke up, Ridley stayed quiet for a moment, pondering the other answers and . Mulling over her own thoughts before speaking. "Knowing your strengths and weaknesses as well as your limitations. You should also know That of your teammates." She stated once there was a pause. "Along with that, knowing how to amplify said strengths and work around those weaknesses, as well as knowing when you are at your limit." To be successful in a battle you had to be honest with yourself. Pretending you don't have a weakness wouldn't make you any stronger, but rather weaker. Accepting that weakness for what that was and finding ways to work around it was what would bring about success. That was a lesson she had learned from her uncle many times. "For example, someone with a smaller size or stature could be considered at a disadvantage against bigger, stronger foes. However, knowing that and accepting that you learn how to maneuver around that and use it as an advantage on your end instead, by being quicker and more agile." Ridley wasn't the smallest person at Beacon, but in general she was a fairly small person. That was just another thing she had worked through with her uncle. "Beyond that, knowing your limits is vital. Rushing blindly with out taking that into consideration won't do anything but get you killed."
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings.

"It's showtime! Are you ready?" Mood: FestivexxxxxxxxPost Count: 03xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCurrent Track: ⏯ Do It — Tuxedo Teamwork. Unity. Those were great traits to have. To have allies that made up for your own weaknesses. However, in Beryl's eyes it hadn't meant anything without actual technical skill and strategy behind it all. A single calculative and naturally talented individual could easily outpace a four-man cell who only knew how to rush in and swing a sword or shoot a gun.
For her tardiness, the blonde had been tasked with moving the fountain from point A to point B with their teacher sitting atop it. "Wh-whaaaaaaat?" Beryl cried out in disdain, but it'd fall into the background as the man continued his class. However, she'd show him that trying to make an example out of her would prove to be a futile effort. With a scoff and a pop of the lips Beryl's brow furrowed in mild irritation; yet she accepted the challenge.
Locking the puffy paws on her jacket by the digits she'd imitate the act of an individual cracking their knuckles and stretching.
The girl was aware of her own strengths and weaknesses. She knew that she probably couldn't pick up an entire fountain on her own, she doubted anyone here could; however, she just had to tackle it from a different approach.
Instead, she'd flex her mechanical cat paws, augmenting her strength through their use as a medium; an adapter of sorts. With a bright yet mischievous grin she'd hop across the fountain and neared the connected platform that her teacher stood upon. With a bit of extra strength and some elbow grease Beryl would slam her open palms into the part of the fountain that the man sat on; effectively splitting away that chunk of the fountain but successfully shoving the man and his seat with enough force to send them careening over to the front door of the academy should he didn't act quickly enough to allow this.
He never said that she had to move the entire fountain afterall.

As Xandria watched as other students were giving their thoughts on his question she remained quiet and let them speak their mind as she gave small nods to those who answered first, agreeing with some of them. Then Xandria turned as she heard Rori speak up about what she had to say about the teacher's question, with a nod she had to agree with her, when you're alone its about survival. If your mind wasn't in the right place then one could easily lose their balance and get lost eventually dying from a grimm. When Rori asked if she ever had a life or death situation before, Xandria went quiet for a moment as she gave a small nod and said. "I...I have before, when I was younger. I was out with my parents in a simple patrol around the area taking out small time grimm. I thought I could snipe one down from a tree top. At first I thought it was alone, until one came from behind and knocked me off of a tree branch then I was swarmed by 10 of them. I...If..." shaking a little she stopped and continued. "If it wasn't for my parents I wouldn't be here today..." Xandria looked to the teacher to answer his question. "One of the greatest trait to combat is to having a calm mind, a chaotic mind wouldn't be able to focus on anything, having a calm mind helps with shooting straight and precise." Xandria said as she would then go back to being quiet as she looked at Rori then would take a breath as she then covered her nose and mouth with her scarf, she normally doesn't talk that much. She also watched the cat girl kick the fountain to the front of the academy entrance she she looked away not putting too much care to it.

It was nice to see her in his combat class.
When the teacher was calling names, the deer Faunus merely looked up from his book and raised his hand to indicate he was Donnelly when the teacher said his name.
Ah, a fine question. What was the most important factor in winning a fight? When Donnelly felt it appropriate to speak up on his turn, he began.
"Information," the deer Faunus said simply, not looking up from his book. "Knowledge is power and the more you know about an enemy's abilities and the abilities of your allies, the better you can devise ways to counteract or utilize those abilities to your advantage. The fall of some of history's greatest Huntsmen and Huntresses was caused by them either not knowing what they were getting into or underestimating their adversary. Information means you know what might lie ahead and can prepare for it, and knowing what your foe is capable of means you can't possibly under- or overestimate them. With the right knowledge, you might not even have to fight at all. If you know something your enemy doesn't, you can use that against them, or even talk them down from fighting altogether. They say the greatest weapon is one you only have to fire once. If you ask me, the greatest weapon is one you don't have to fire at all."Location: Courtyard Company: Mr. Gregshell, Ridley, students Mood: Bored Thinking: "I want to sleep..." E R I N ¤ G R E G S H E L L ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ❝..Cracked Professor..❞ ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ His arms would cross as he looked around at all of them, it seemed that the class was a bit more mature in their answers than he would have expected in the first place, for the most part. His head would tilt and crack a bit as he rubbed it with his free hand from his pocket. His eye would squint a bit hearing a bit of a crack. His eyes scanned the area until he saw the prowl of a student and gave a light smirk. His left foot planted onto the ground before he stretched his back in a stand. "Such nice answers. Such studious choices. You're all right. . .All together in a way. But wrong." He'd speak before the push came. It seemed that the part of the fountain only cracked but didn't budge under him from his firm foot placement and superior strength. The man's head turned to the girl in the pink as he put a finger up. His body leaned down, and plucked her forehead a bit before looking back to the class. "Yes, Knowledge is power, and with that a proper approach and stratagem you'd hold many advantages, but put into a situation where knowing the situation doesn't change the physical odds is useless. If an opponent has a weakpoint or a disadvantage you can not capitalize on, it's better if you didn't know at all, because they would be able to overwhelm you." He'd begin. "With Teamwork. Being able to synergize is an amazing ability as well as a key in some battles, but fighting alone happens. An opponent will separate you, and if you do not know how to use your own assets and abilities it becomes pointless to be a team player. Handling battles alone is a key." His head then turns to another. "A calm mind is nice to have, but calm doesn't mean calculative. A demeanor is only a psychological barrier in combat, leading into knowing your strengths and weaknesses." He'd turn around to the one who spoke of it. "Again, Psychological doesn't help when the disadvantage of battling overwhelms you. Your weaknesses maybe in the way of what strengths you might have had in the battle, creating a cycle of what if's until you don't have time to think"
His hand would then rub the back of his head, "And though being attentive is helpful, being aware is sometimes more harmful than bliss in combat." He'd allow his foot to lift showing the small crater in the ground his foot made as he stood back on the fountain. "The answer was, there is no one factor to determine a fight." His head nodded once more then. "You need to combine the ability to think quickly, be alert, organize attacks, telegraph movements, use each hit to the fullest, temper each motion to reserve energy, read situations, choose battles wisely, and overwhelm each opponent with everything you've got." Erin's voice boomed a bit on the last statement as he closed his eyes. "And then still understand, that there is no way to always be victorious in battle with that." Erin pounds his chest once and grins. "In my class, I, Erin Gregshell will teach you how to survive combat. Not just hit blindly. Your first assignment, to me. Due next class, will be to bring in your weapon and write down everything you can do, combat wise with it." Erin's arm rip the shoulder of his shirt again as he cursed under his breath again. "Eh. . .I'll take any questions now." ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

Well spoken. This teacher looked like a musclehead, but like any teacher in this school, he was still a full-fledged Hunstman, so Donnelly should've expected he was more than just combat prowess. The man was insightful and intuitive, good traits to have in a leader.
The deer Faunus raised his hand to speak, the other still holding his book. In fact, he didn't look up from his book, still reading it as he spoke.

Cecil raised an eyebrow as he soon praised dthem before saying they were all wrong and that the question was a trick question. Cecil was not a big fan of trick questions as he shook his head before he soon responded, "Trick questions should not be used to introduced the class use sire... especially for one designed for combat." He spoke before he looked to the others to see their reaction as he soon turned his head as the man said he'd teach them on many things...and to overwhelm each opponent. He sighed before he shook his head and soon spoke up once more, "Sire, the class is ending alot sooner than I thought, wouldn't there be more to discuss in the future to come?"

Look at Guild Members list. ░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░ ★ With classes now over and that experience with the Ursa Grimm behind her, Lunestra awoke the next day and made her way towards the courtyard. Since it was the weekend, it was the perfect opportunity to find out who exactly she was tripled with for her team. Lunestra had to be honest with herself though -- she was nervous. There was no doubt about it. She was unsure who she'd be placed with, let alone their skill sets and experience. Hopefully it wouldn't be anyone too difficult. . .
Arriving at the courtyard, the morning brought a gentle, glistering glow to the waters of the various fountains that triangulated towards the epicenter. Everything was equidistant and symmetrical -- it was pleasing and also somewhat disconcerting. Such perfection was only so disturbing due to the possibility that in some kind of future, it could all be destroyed and tossed asunder. But, she needed to appreciate the beauty while she still held it. Lunestra was determined to not let Beacon -- nor Vale -- fall.
Approaching the quest terminal, the heiress withdrew her scroll and connected to the mainframe of the terminal. A few taps later, she finally received a list of her new teammates. Squinting her eyes, she identified. . . Ivory Maguire, Jessica Morrison, and Long Shui-Lin.
I know two of them. . . They were in my class -- but I've never met Jessica Morrison before. . .
Exhaling, she deposited her scroll into her hip-purse and turned about. Her arms were folded as she cast her gaze at the rest of the courtyard. It was still early. . . But perhaps her teammates would show up sooner rather than later. If not, she'd proceed to train somewhere -- just because the weekend was off-time did not mean she had off-time from her technique and academics.

She didn't know her nose was near-broken, but she was too stubborn to go to a medical professional about her injury, it would be too humiliating how she sustained such a gnarly injury. Luckily, Maron got to quell the bleeding, and had neatly applied a nose bandage over her nose. Unfortunately, her face still looked like she had been in an MMA fight: Her under eyes looked a tad darkened, and her nose was red as the blood that was gushing out of her nose two days ago, luckily the swelling had gone down. All Maron had to do for now was to just take it easy and not do anything too drastic- easier said than done.
"Ahh, I wonder what everyone else is up to, it's still a bit early..." She thought, zipping up her varsity jacket over her sports bra, and stretching her arms above her head. Maron was no stranger to early morning, it is her usual time to go on a jog; and even though she sustained such a bad injury, Maron still took the time to go on her jog, her watermelon-crushing thighs didn't come easy! Maron didn't expect anyone else to be up and walking around, it was the weekend after all. That was why it was so shocking for her to see someone already taking the initiative and looking at the courtyard board. Right, teams were announced, right? Maron decided that now would be a good time to check out the board and see who she would be teamed up with, hopefully her future teammates will be fun!
Maron dashed over to the board, but had once again misjudged her running capacity, and had nearly crashed onto the possibly-really expensive quest terminal if it weren't for her exceptional skidding ability. A literal screeching sound followed as Maron was stopping her body from once again subjecting itself to more abuse. "Hey there!" Maron said as she attempted to look as cool as possible after such a near-death experience. "My name is Maron, what's yours?!" She asked, flashing a hopefully-warming grin towards the white haired woman. Maron was just about to check out her team roster herself, but stopped herself to asked the white-haired girl a question. "I know I'm taking a shot in the dark when I ask this, but... Do you know anyone who was in class 1-B yesterday? Or were you in that class?" She asked, rubbing the back of her head, "I don't know if you can tell by the bandage and bruised face, but I had a pretty nasty fall that left me in too much pain to go to class, which is why I missed it... Eheheh..."

The silence of the morning crept into her mind, and she was certainly tranquil. At this point, Lunestra had taken a seat at the edge of the terminal and looked upwards to the sky. The varicolored hues of burgundy, orange, and splotches of blue made Lunestra wonder how the outside world could truly be so virulent. Grimm ruled the outside world beyond Vale's walls, and eventually they may breach the very borders which protect Vale and ruin everything as well. As per usual, Lunestra began to truly wonder where the Grimm came from. . . But that was as much as a mystery then where humans and faunus came from as well. . .
Aside from the postulation that they were born from Dust.
At some point, Lunestra had delved deep into her reverie and recalled the battle she, Ivory, and Qing had with the Ursa. Although it was restrained and blunted, it was still a worthy foe -- but only because they were novices when it came to truly experiencing Grimm. She wasn't too sure about Ivory or Qing, but she certainly knew -- she had never seen a Grimm before since yesterday, and when she was younger, she did not remember the Grimm who killed her mother and stole her away from them. That was a thought that made Lunestra crestfallen. . . But it wasn't time to think about the past. She needed to look to the future.
As she raised her gaze, Lunestra's eyes widened as a horse faunus was charging towards her -- although not in her immediate trajectory. Rising suddenly, Lunestra felt her heart increase in pace -- but luckily, Maron came to a quick, skidding stop that would've torn the ground away from under her if she didn't have more control. Regaining her composure, Lunestra quirked a brow. The horse faunus had introduced herself, and even admitted she hadn't gone to the first day of class due to. . . An accident.
Must have been a really harsh fall if her Aura didn't protect her. . .
"I'm Lunestra. . ." She quietly answered and trailed off, gathering her thoughts on what review she could give Maron. "My brother taught the class -- and it got rather 'exciting' very early on. He asked us why Grimm couldn't be held in captivity alive for long, and some of us answered. . . I still believe our answers to have been correct -- that Grimm can't survive in captivity for long because they have very little negative emotions to feed on --, but . . . He told us no one really knew why," She sighed. "And then he made us fight an actual Grimm -- an Ursa. It was restrained and handicapped, but still a challenge. It took three of us to take it down, and of course, knowing my brother, he stepped back and put on his theater-going spectacles." Her explanation wasn't a huge gush -- it was in fact very measured, and she seemed particularly annoyed by her brother's antics. But, it also seemed like she was particularly used to them as well.
Aurtrox was her brother after all. But aside from that, needless to truly say, Maron had missed a lot.

How was she going to recover from missing all that excitement?! What was even more anxiety-inducing, was that she had nearly made a fool of herself in front of the headmaster's sister, the headmaster was one scary dude. "Aww man, that sounds so..." Maron trailed off for a moment to build up her excitement of the scenario she was summarized on. "That sounds so freaking cool! The fact that it only took three freshman to take down an Ursa, hey, that's still pretty awesome!" Maron sighed, but winced in slight discomfort.
"I wish I was there to fight an Ursa, handicapped or not, lucky~!" Still in the midst of her excitement, Maron couldn't help but commemorate the event with a pun, "I guess you can say that was a pretty 'Ursa-ane' battle... Pfft, aww man..." The young woman folded her arms over her chest, relaxing where she was standing. "Your brother, the headmaster, sounds like a fun guy!" Maron commented, forgetting why she was actually by the quest terminal. Oh well, at least she had a new face to get herself acquainted with!

Although Maron remained in place, the horse faunus was still incredibly rompous about Lunestra's retelling of what had happened during class. At first Lunestra expected the excitable girl to feel a bit more displeased about not making it too class . . . But she was taking it rather well. The bright personality that Maron radiated from every gesture, every word . . . It somewhat perturbed Lunestra. She had never met someone nearly as eccentric and jovial as her brother can be.
And then she made a pun. A pun.
Lunestra deadpanned for a few moments, her countenance not so much a dour but a barren scape of emotion. She was clearly unimpressed by the apt pun that Maron -- truthfully -- delivered with horse-kicking skill, but she soon recovered her veneer to a more placid, neutral state. "It was definitely an experience, that much I can say. . . " She replied in regards to three freshman totaling an entire Ursa, even if it was at far greater odds. "And Aurtrox is . . . He can be a spinning top, that's for sure."
Candidly, Lunestra didn't feel all too comfortable with this conversation . . . And not because of the topic broached, but moreso that Lunestra seldom spoke to another person one-on-one. It was far better than speaking to an entire group of people, of course -- something she had to get used to, and quickly. She needed to relax, and made a slight point to relax her composure -- she had only just noticed that her wings were far too tucked in, and her shoulders were tense. She needed to relax. However, the heiress didn't continue the topic. This wasn't the classroom, where she felt ultimate -- she was in broad daylight.
