Keionx hesitated for a moment and then made the decision to let her shield get pulled off. It hurt as it left her arm - such things were really not intended to be 'let go,' after all - but it did give her an opening and, without its weight, she could move faster. Speed won battles - and it at least scored her a few more 'kills.' Re-kills. The semantics didn't matter.

Eridia was tempted to use her robotic skull on every single daywalker that dared to attack her. What was once a funny joke turned into a sour one. Spinning her daggers, Eridia lunged and stabbed several zombies in her way. Slashed them out of spite even if they remain on the floor still as stone. "Why. Won't. You. Stay. Dead?" She said with every slash and hack. Jeez, they were so hard to kill!
As the purpleblood took out the last one, Keionx at least took some heart - as she retrieved her shield - that her kill count was more than the purpleblood's, by her estimation. Getting showed up by such a fancy person... Well, all right, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. And, also honestly, she wasn't taking the kill count too seriously. It was just keeping her mind off the horrors, and motivating her forward.
Speaking of forward, she stretched her stiff and bruised arm and went in yon direction, nodding to 'Ardais.' "Looks promising."
The party advances through the ship...

"We're doing good so far with those daywalkers! Now let's keep moving, save the night and stuff." And so, onto another hall. One with not as many bodies, maybe.
Kei picked, Lux nodded and took point. Down the corridor they went! She didn't really bother trying to get to know anyone. If they went fast enough, they wouldn't have to. Get in, help, get back out, hopefully Alternia would be in one piece.
As they continued along, she caught sight of something. An opening. Oh, sweet! She swooced on in.

She checked the area out. No bodies, no... Wait. Something skittered. She crouched. Luxara knew the sound well. Reminded her of home. That couldn't mean?
She looked for small, multi-armed rodents. Soon, some came out, sniffling and squeaking. And, hey, they weren't dead. She picked them up and brought them out with her.
"Seems we've got some living gerbils up in here. Maybe we can bring them planetside, give them homes, huh?"

Eridia squealed as the adult had showed them the gerbils. Oh how she always wanted one! Ever since she was a child she had pursue these lovely critters, but Lovedad never allowed her. She was too childish back then to keep a pet. Also she always lost interest of her things once something else caught her eye back then. Oh well.
The lavenderblood took one and cradled it on her arms. "Ooooh, sweetie! I'll give you the best home on Alternia!"
Her new gerbil gave her energy and determination to trek on forward. "Guys let's keep on moving!"
Rutaca Spuode (Keionx Rutace) Did 'Ardais'ever get tired of the constant positivity? Also, more gerbils. "I am starting to amass a collection of these." she commented, grinning at the tiny little thing. They were so unassuming when they were alive and not attacking. "And to think - I ha...ve... wanted them for sweeps, but never had a chance to until now." She shook her head in amusement, tucking the little thing into a relatively safe pocket.
"If this is the memory I take away from this venture, I won't be upset." her face fell, however, as she heard the distinctly NOT gerbil-like shuffling and groaning. "Sadly, it seems I shall have others."
She drew her blade and set up her shield. "Doth not sound like too many." she said, her tongue tripping over her words a little. Her focus was on the approaching dead. Just because this was a small group of them did not mean that their guard could be let down.
Find some gerbils, then some daywalkers. While rushing to help a ship keep from crashing into the planet. What a wild ride. This time, though, not a whole lot of daywalkers. But just enough. Again, the team wouldn't need her shooting so much as coaching. Not that a wiggling gerbil in her pocket would make shooting any easier. So.
She still batted a couple of the walking corpses away from the group despite that. "Just more targets! You know what to do, right? Warm-up for the main event."

"Yes indeed." Keionx said - as a daywalker proceeded to dodge her.
Damn it. she cursed in her head, disliking their speedy dodginess. How could she do damage if they wouldn't let her hit them?
Except, of course, that was absurd. She knew it was absurd. She taught her students to evade foes, and to combat evasion. It was a worthy aim to take a hit, but perhaps better still to not take a hit. So long as an innocent is not harmed by ye stray blow...
So she had to suck up her frustration and keep trying.

More zombies. Damn it! Eridia had enough of it. So she charged in as soon as she locked her eyes on her targets. As she was cut, the Injuries in her upper extremity began to become traumatic in a microscopic level, which in turn it began to interfere with the various functions of her arm and hand. It was painful, the whole thing stung. But defeating her enemy in such gruesome ways...
It was worth it.
"They're done for."

Eridia made quick work of the daywalkers. Good. Didn't have to worry about her contributions at all. Luxara continued to be happy for that. "Okay, so with those taken care of... Let's keep going! Can't be too much more til we find something, right?"
Really, it seemed like they had gotten pretty far in no time at all. Pretty impressive stamina, even to Luxara, whose entire deal was exactly that.
And with that, onwards!
She pointed down another hall. "That one sound good, boss? I have a good feeling about it."

Down that hallway, the definitely-gonna-be-a-good-hallway-or-I'm-gonna-lose-faith-in-hallways hallway, Luxara kept checking and listening. A long hall, a bit grim, but they all seemed to be like that. The gerbil kept wiggling in her pocket. It'd need a name. Like the, uh, other one. That was kind of undead. Gonna be a weird situation back home, for sure.
Then, at the end, finally. "Oh, check it out."
A door! Maybe a good one? Luxara checked the walls by it quick. And- yep, a panel. She opened it up immediately, messed with the wires inside, and checked the door. Didn't open. Well. They had a knight for that.
"Rut? You're up!"

Rutaca Spuode (Keionx Rutace)
Ahhh, the purpleblood hath pulled ahead!
And Keionx would just have to deal with that, being in last in her count. She didn't have to be happy about it, but she did have to accept her 'loss' with dignity, even if she wasn't really keeping score. At least Luxara was in the lead - Keionx wasn't sure if her spirit could handle the embarrassment of both rebels being shown up by this troll...
But she probably could have. Of course she could. She was a hero, and a bad kill-count did not change that. Especially since they were so close to the ultimate goal - saving the very night itself from a terrible menace.
That cheered her up, and that had been the point of the kill count in the first place. She flexed - "Tis but a door." she said, forcing it open with relative ease, "It is no longer a barrier to our goals."

The purpleblood closed her eyes, breathing in and out deeply as she tried to move her arm and body. Everything burned, everything stung, her right upper arm didn't seem to respond to her brain's commands... It felt numb. On her left arm, well it seemed fine. All except her wrist which she couldn't extend, it just dropped. Taking a deep breath in. She did her best to move away from the wall and back towards her group.
"You seem teared up by those daywalkers." Eridia said amusingly to the orangeblood. Her collar ruff gave out a nice rejuvenating scent as she activated its aromatherapeutic healing command. "Lucky for you Rutaca, I'm here!"
