Sabotage! You have to stop everything you're doing, mid-cook, until you complete some asinine task for Cerise. (+2)
Inspiration! You have a brilliant idea while you're cooking, and manage to work around one of your sabotages with ease. (+4)
Tasty! Who knows how, but the judge loves the taste of your dish. (+4)

Day 1: 8
Day 2: 4
Day 3: 10
Day 4: 10

Whoever Nahori was, they needed to shut the hell up. 'Healthy'. Whatever. And, like, salad? Guo vaguely remembered that from nights at Leeroi's hive. He primarily remembered dousing it in whatever sauce he could find because it was so bland otherwise. But Chef Red was outlining it a lot looser than what he experienced. Cool. He could work with that.

Also, knives. Anything was worth an excuse to use more sharp cutlery. He started pulling and chopping lettuce leaves and basil leaves and such. His memory of appropriate leaf veggies was super fuzzy. Guo also started to cook some meat. It'd be the only thing that would make him feel like he wasn't just dropping a plate of animal fodder.

But Cerise dragged him away in the middle of it. Something about cleaning a blender? He didn't even use a blender! Stupid lowblood, toying with him with this s**t. She was lucky she was useful.

When he got back, the meat was still in a decent state. He dropped it on top of the greens. So, dressing? How about barbecue sauce? And black pepper?! Yeah, heck yeah! There's health for you!

He placed his questionable salad on the judging table. He waited, and waited, and half-expected a mediocre result. To his surprise, he got...praise? Okay, he'd take it. Hogdad would be happy, so all good there. It wasn't like he had tried to make it the spiciest thing on the planet. Then he'd be disappointed with a positive result.

Sabotage! One of the main ingredients needed for this recipe was taken from you and replaced with a low-quality, weird and hardly related ingredient. (+2)
Heckled! Cerise comes up while you're cooking and seems to think you're doing very poorly. She has a few... not-so-nice comments, and it ruins your self confidence. (+1)
Yikes! Your dish just... looks bad. Is that goop? (+1)

Punkie blew out her cheeks. This was just going terribly. she didnt get the ingredient she wanted, which was grub slime, just by the way. The booth owner had come over and was rude! But, at least her dish turned out nice and goopy. Thats the important part, Punkie though to herself, nice and goopy.

Tsarzi Ameroc

Ah, a salad. A rare but necessary meal to maintain the food groups but far too light for Tsarzi's palette. Then again, a salad consisted of a pile of lettuce on the side of her plate.

Food was a matter of practicality, not indulgence in most cases, and salads were not where she looked to liven up her diet.

A set of giant kitchen utensils was dropped on Tsarzi's table with a certain malicious glee, not that Tsarzi cared. Did she even need those? It was just greens, she could rip them up with her hands easy. Or, well, part of this cooking exercise was presentation, apparently. Tsarzi didn't see the point in wasting time with meal presentation, but trolls would naturally be more inclined to tasteful looking food.

Well, whatever Tsarzi was planning to do with her ingredients didn't matter when she and some others were forced to switch stations. A wail of distress was heard behind her when some sap who actually knew how to prep a good salad was left with a piddly pile of mountain greens, a handful of berries, and a lobster she grabbed purely so she could closer examine the creature.

Tsarzi on the other hand was left with a station piled with ingredients, some cheeses and greens and oils and meats and bread. Well, Tsarzi guessed if you really wanted the greens as the centerpiece, you could mix the whole meal with it. What the other troll had been planning involved making their own bleu cheese vinigarette and a tasteful side of deep fried fatty meats to counter the flavors. Tsarzi didn't think to or, honestly, know how to do those things. Instead she looked at the spread, cut a bunch up with har cartoonishly oversized knife, and tossed it together. The dijon mustard, intended to make a vinagarette that would never see the light of day was srayed over the mess. Cooked meat, chopped greens, and bread chunks that were slowly melting with a mustard topping and too much of a very strong cheese tossed on top.

Her efforts were not appreciated. That's what you got for trying to over complicate a pile of lettuce though.

Tonight's challenge is.... Doughnuts!

"A personal favorite tonight! Doughnuts! Sweet, fried balls of dough, with a nice glaze or something... delicious! Don't be too plain with this one! Decorate, and add some yummy flavors, or fillings! I'll personally kick your a** if you mess this up and make my judges eat nasty doughnuts, got that?" Cerise said, looking over at her judges affectionately. "Get ready, and make me something yummy!"

Psykgi Mentha

Psykgi was back and ready to rumble! This time, she got unlucky and had to deal with... a whole lot of random junk to cook with.

"Fffff!" she managed as she struggled to make something out of that mess of items. That something would have to be doughnuts. Psykgi had never made doughnuts before, but she was pretty sure they needed sugar... which she didn't have.

Psykgi had no idea how to make doughnuts anyway, so she put them in a frying pan, using two wooden log cabin model building blocks to move them around. She was feeling uncomfortably reminded of Calida's booth by the time they were ready. These didn't look like doughnuts.

She sprinkled some cinnamon on them and, to her great surprise, actually got a favorable score. How? HOW?

Well, fine, she'd take that.

Sephos Arbola

Sephos was hungry and, having discovered that booths were some refuge from the overall chaos, went towards the smell of food and ended up at a massive booth.

He was too far in to back out when he realized that he'd gone from the frying pan into the fire... literally. And now, he had to cook his own food. Or, rather, someone else's food? He didn't know or understand. He barely even knew what a doughnut was. Fried balls of dough, though, he could figure out.

Desperate to get something to eat and get out, he started cooking. Flour. Chestnuts. Cranberries. Eggs. Milk. That made dough. As he was kneading the dough together, however, the person running the whole thing made him stop and help her carry some restocked produce 'since he was such a big, strong troll.'

Of course he helped, having no concept of time and competition, and by the time he returned to his doughnuts, the timer had been chomped away... much like the meal of the person next to him, a very smug lusus standing in place of the other troll's doughnuts.

Sephos frowned, but that wasn't his problem. Instead, he began to fry the mixture in more oil than he had ever seen in one place in his life. He quickly stirred in some of his own saffron into a glaze mixture he copied off of another competitor - if they were doing it, it must go on doughnuts after all - and glazed the doughnuts with a yellow-and-red topping.

Apparently, however, that was not the way to go. He was attacked for using saffron - an expensive ingredient, rare, special. How could he be so wasteful? No one gave him an opportunity to say that it was his own spice.

He left, a few of his doughnuts in hand, a little shellshocked. And then a knife set caught his eye - that would be useful in his hive. Very practical. He'd have to come back for it.

Resigned, and reluctantly, he decided to return the next night. If he could find his way through the maze of stalls, that was...

Playing a game? Hah! Even if he did have to play a carnival game when he shouldave been cooking, he knew that he was going to be okay! So far he had been very good at what he did, For gogs sakes, Mahmud managed to cook an excellent salad the other day with that stupid... THING biting at his ankles. Maybe he was playing for a bit too long though. After getting all his ingredients back, he practically skipped back to his station to start cooking.

As he was mixing up his dough though (and, again, finding a place to shove in bugs) Cerise came in and started to tease him! Which didn't hurt so much, truth be told, until he was told how stupid his little singing was. And that broke his pumpbiscuit into bitty pieces. His singing? Stupid? What, was she a critic too? He'd sure love to hear HER si--- oh. Once it was obvious Mahmud was rustled, she then attacked his food again.

Joke was on her though, because by the end she gobbled it all up and loved it. Take that!

Oh, yeah. Guo knew doughnuts. He knew doughnuts well. Never watched them be made, but he had plenty of late semi-stale runs in his time. It'd be easy enough. Never fried anything in his life, but if it was like TrollDonald's and fries, he'd figure it out. Concept: doughnuts shaped like fries?

Unfortunately for Guo, he continued contemplating while in the middle of shopping. With so many flavor options, he didn't have a concrete game plan as fast as he needed. Once he grabbed everything, there was no way he'd get out in time. Then Cerise locked him in. "s**t!"

He started banging at the doors. "Let me out, let Me OuT!" And she did, but took one of his items for it. Guo thought very unpleasant things about Cerise in that moment.

And that wasn't the end of it. As he trudged back, she pulled out a wiggler's baking station too. Not his first rodeo or anything, but he still felt like she was out to get him. Now he wasn't even sure he wanted to do well.

But he did put an effort into making the things, just to say that he could. He rolled them thin and fry-like, and they fried okay. Some icing on top, and, out of spite, some souring blueberries. He didn't even care when the judges didn't care for it.

"Bite me," he said with a shrug.

Calida was quickly walking towards the booth, She was unable to participate in the booth the night before, but this night she had some time and wasn't judging cupcakes so she decided it was time to actually do something. She wanted to blow away the owner of the booth, somehow! So she was going to do everything in her power that night to win!

Doughnuts, Calida could make doughnuts! Well, sort of. She hadn't perfected the recipe or the baking, they always came out slightly burned. But tonight she was going to prove herself. But first she had to wrestle her ingredients from a rather nasty looking lizard. Using the thieving techniques she'd learned from mami, Calida stole her ingredients and ran for her station. HOPEFULLY the thing wouldn't chase her down.

She put together the ingredients and let the dough rise, as she did so she began preparation for her toppings. when all her ingredients were out, she began frying the dough. Calida wanted more than anything to show this troll that she was a good baker and an excellent cook! She was careful to watch the doughnuts, flip them out of the oil and plate them. Next she covered each of them in chocolate, caramel and some sort of nut.

She presented it to the judge and smiled broadly,"So, what do you think?"

Tsarzi Ameroc

Doughnuts were that mass produced pastry sold in those glass cabinets in corner stores. She tried one once. Sugary, had a bit of a fatty oil flavor to it, not very good for you.

Tsarzi paused to think. She'd made bread before. Obviously the doughnut was also a dough product, but what kind of dough? She didn't know how the dough to make them was prepared, let alone pastries in general. This booth should be giving out amateur cookbooks, not plastic toys of the vendor's lusus. A gross oversight by the redblood in charge. Obviously, she was not taught practicality nor does she hold the desire to help others learn if this is her method.

Of course, Tsarzi's opinion kicked down another few notches when her hands were tied together. Her face hardened at that, and the irritation simmered in the back of her head as she moved on to her baking. This put quite a roadblock in her way, making what should have been easy tasks eat up more and more time. Practice in case she ever found herself with her hands restrained then.

She highly doubted that she'd need to cook with her hands tied anywhere but this booth though.

Dough was dough at the end of the day, so she made some regular dough, adding honey as sweetner. Tossed in a couple of seasonings she'd grabbed like cinnamon, ginger, and cumin and kneaded the dough. Through frustration, she molded the dough around a soft cheese she grabbed on a whim. Soft cheeses were nice with crackers, an easy snack to have at the hive, though she didn't know many cooking uses for them. Still, maybe the idea would work in her favor.

The blueblood learned how to fry things that day, mostly by spying on everyone else. It was a trial and her hands had blisters from brushing the hot pan and popping bubbles of oil but here she was, with friend doughnut balls and little chunks of meat she rolled in seasoning and tossed in alongside them. Douse the desert item with more honey and cinnamon and she could finally get her hands untied.

There was a twitch of her lips at the heart approval of the judges. Even working in a rather impractical way, she managed quite well.
