Noah waited until the mermaid twisted closer in the water, and swung Laz; even though the resistance of the water made his strike feel excruciatingly slow compared to the way he was used to it feeling, the saw hit, biting deep into the mermaid's scales. It lashed out at him in a frenzy of sharp claws, but he saw its mouth go wide in a soundless scream.

The mermaid tried to eel around Noah's next swing, but he twisted Laz in the water, raking the saw's sharp teeth across the creature's skin. It struck at him again, but he was holding his own for now.

Was he getting slower, or was the mermaid getting faster? He only managed to graze it this time.

Noah turned in the water as the mermaid darted in at him again, and swung Laz at its belly. It twisted in an attempt to avoid the saw, but Laz bit into its hide again. The mermaid made that silent scream again, and this time, it dissolved into nothingness.
Noah made himself calm his breathing. It wouldn't do to exhaust his tanks because he overused the air. He reoriented himself, desummoned, and resumed his swim downward.
Laz radiated a sense of pleasant satisfaction.

Being eaten by something huge was more than a little creepy, but Noah trusted that Melvin knew what he was doing. He followed the others into the cavernous mouth. He snatched his feet back from the pressure of the closing teeth, but not quickly enough.

There were little sharp-toothed fish inside the stomach. Noah was at once fascinated and disgusted by the whole experience, the pulsing walls, the unidentified objects that crunched underfoot, the slimy liquid they had to move through. He plucked the little fish off his legs and shoved his way through to join the rest of the group.
"My shield's feeling a little thin," he spoke up as Melvin asked if they were okay. "I took some hits on the way down. Do we have a minute to use bandages?"

Melvin turned his headlamp up to the thick stomach lining above them and moved as slowly as he could. The liquid here was slimy ooze that clung with resistance against his legs.
He was dead silent and turned his head out to cast light on the bubbling surface of the stomach's lake.

Rep wasn't keen on being eaten, having flashbacks to the huge snake which had devoured him on the mission with Mark. But this was fine, they'd be all right this time, there wasn't a ******** legacy in sight.

Kimberly had little knowledge of any rune based items. Likely because she was always too distracted with the fighting. She shrugged a little and looked at the others finally getting around her. She then bowed her head. "Oh, yeah shouldn't rush around." She sighed and leaned on one of the stomach walls, waiting for the next series of attacks, or movements. She watched the one putting on his bandages not sure how they would work. "Okay fearless leader, where to next, you said one more room.. er.. chamber or whatever. So, maybe we should um, pass the lake over. That bile is freaky. I am sure I would melt." Note to self.. learn about Runic stuff. Maybe get some? Kim smirked a little as she looked at the bandages. Maybe I can keep these ones?

Through to the other side he found himself assaulted by small concerning ******** fish which had apparently decided that he was goddamn delicious. With a lot of viciousness he ripped them off, not concerned about the fact that doing so meant tearing small bits of flesh off at the same time, and with the same degree of irritation, pushed through to the other side.

Pressing the button that would turn the headlamp on, Kyle took a moment to look around at the stomach that they were in. Yup. Judging by the pulsatile movement of the walls around them, this thing was very much alive. He started after the group, moving as quickly as he could to avoid getting left behind.
In the midst of his hurrying along however, he accidentally misplaced his footing on the sludge and ended up slipping and falling headfirst into the bile. That of course brought on the feeder fish that were alerted to his presence and a school of them was onto the poor trainee in no time.
"Ugh... I'm not fish food. Get off me!"
Kyle picked himself up, moving his hands to pull off the ones he could reach.

His ankle was twisted but there was no time to stop and attempt patching himself up lest he got left behind so Kyle gritted his teeth and bore with it, hobbling along to get himself to the next area that they had gone to.

Melvin pulled out the runic bandages he kept in his pack and moved closer to Terry. Taking his arm, he wrapped the bandage about his arm and waited for it to enforce his Fear shield. It wasn't much, but it was better than letting the trainee get dissolved.
