Shaddaling "Mmh, cute name and well, all the luck to him impressing." S'aren said, glancing at the candidates, trying to pin point the kid. That one maybe? When they had a sea of faces and white robes it was a bit harder to pin point for sure. Probably that one. "Don't know... it is up to her." S'aren said simply. Though she would be more worried about K'rin keeping face in front of the new candidates and hatchlings. She hope the queen would linger a bit longer. F'liel had nodded in S'aren's direction, his attention on the two little greens. The first green was playing games, enjoying the attention on her while the second seemed to be cleaning herself off of any egg fragments. Strange personalities, at least it seemed that way to him. Vesunth was besides herself with two greens on the Sands and another egg looking ready to break free. Suddenly, the first green went through the candidates, looking over a girl and then, another boy. Making grooves in the sand; she settles herself into a wallow she made in the Sand I. Front of one boy. But it was another lad who apparently had her heart and mind. Rainbow eyes shone as she wiggled excitedly. Who? And then Endalil moved forward and kneeled in front of the colorful green. F'liel whooped loudly and jumped up from his seat. "Congratulations Endalil! First Impression, well done!". He looked over at S'aren's, grinning proudly with a mix of chagrin. "Eh, sorry about that... That one there would be my son. And evidently, his new dragon."

"Well congratulations and well, maybe you should see about getting down there if you could. See if the candidate master might allow you to help out or something. Get a good look at your boys dragon." S'aren grinned. "Looked to be a speedy little thing, she did."

Cai caught Jocelin's eyes when he looked his way, holding his gaze for a moment before turning away when the boy didn't say anything. He watched the Average green shuffle her way out of her shell and straight towards the candidates. No tripping no fussing just pure business. These two, in Cai's opinion, were a far sight better behaved than their sister. The Snowdrift green reminded him somewhat of a feline in her fastidiousness and aloof observations while the Average green appeared to not care for much outside of the business at hand.
Well... He could possibly see himself sharing his space with someone likr that... Maybe.

With Average walking the line of candidates, dismissing each in turn, and Snowdrift watching them all from among the eggs, the was a strong feeling of being judged among the candidates. Average paused in front of Zeeana, looking the candidate up and down for a long moment, before turning her head away and moving to the next candidate. They did not receive the same pause, Average walking by without even a glance. Several candidates received similar treatment, among them both Iskosian and Vee. If the green didn't make up her mind soon she was likely to run out of candidates.
Meanwhile Snowdrift continued to analyse. Long moments passed without her moving a muscle. Then, seemingly without any change, her eyes began to swirl in bright rainbows. Slowly the dragon stood and began walking towards the candidates. Her steps were even and controlled. She looked straight forwards, her eyes never wavering. Not to the stands, not to her sister further down the line. From a distance it would be hard to tell exactly which candidate she was looking at, but it was abundantly clear that Snowdrift had made up her mind and she was acting on it.

Iskosian had watched as the Average green continued to walk the line of candidates. Some were completely ignored. Others were stared at for a moment before being dismissed. Average walked past him without even a glance or batting an eyelid. He tried not to let his shoulders slump and he wondered what exactly the green was looking for in a rider.
Snowdrift was there, still thinking and apparently silently judging. Then without much noise, she stood and began walking towards the group of candidates. Who would it be? Who had the attention of her rainbow colored eyes?

Was that...? D'lana smiled as she recognised Endalil, the first to Impress! His father would surely be proud, she certainly was.
As the Average egg hatched D'lana's smile remained but she found herself looking quickly around at the other eggs to mark the size of those which remained. The Weyrs - or the Weyr, as they were now - needed green dragons but they needed others too. They needed a gold most of all, would the larger Enfolding egg be the answer they sought? Stars and moons above she hoped so, she didn't know what they would do if it wasn't.

"Not a bad idea but it might be better if I wait until all the action has settled down-I wouldn't want to upset any of the babies. But by the First Egg, a green! I can't wait to meet her. I bet Vesunth will adore her, she likes smaller creatures. And I hope that Endalil will allow us to visit him from time to time." F'liel was proud father indeed. A thought struck him. "I wonder how he will shorten his name? Or if his dragon will shorten it for him." He paused, searching almost 20 turns of memories. "I believe, Vesunth and I figured it out together." F'liel managed to make eye contact with D'lana. Or at least, he thought he did and he gave a fist pump of victory to his Weyrleader.

"True enough! Still," S'aren gave him a companionable little elbow nudge. "First impression, and a nice little green and ehh. He'll figure out what he wants to do about his name. Or well they will. Vespeth didn't care." She admitted. "Mmh?" S'aren looked up catching the fist pump towards the box. "Someone you know?"

Quote: A cold feeling begins to seep into Zeeana’s body eliciting a shiver, despite the heat of the sands. The feeling of being watched swiftly follows and Zeeana may feel like she is being assessed. Zeeana. A crisp voice speaks in the young woman’s mind with complete clarity. It is you, Zeeana. The feeling of love and adoration floods into her mind, the cool and calming feeling wrapping around her mind. Looking around Zeeana will see that the dragon known as Snowdrift is walking steadily towards her, her careful deliberation finally complete, eyes whirling with rainbow. I have inspected them all, Zeeana. Every one. None of them compare to you. I am Veitrath and I am yours.Zre shivered, feeling as if she was being observed and evaluated. Was it coming from one of the hatchlings? Was she imagining it? The voice that spoke made it clear that she wasn't imagining things, and she could feel the love just flowing from them. She could see Snowdrifts walking steadily towards her, declaring that the green had chosen her. Out of everyone here, no one suited her better. "Veitrath." She could hardly believe it, but this was clearly happening. "Let's get you some food then."

She stood waiting and shifting from foot to foot. What else could she do but wait? Leave the sands of course; that wasn't an option Moluli considered viable. She wanted to impress a dragon. So she waited. The dragonets went about their business. Average was walking down the line, almost like the candidatemaster did at inspection. She stifled a giggle at the thought. What would Average do though if she reached the end of the line without a proper choice? Would she try the stands next?
Then Snoftdrift made her move. It was hard to tell who exactly she was aiming for. It was several moments before one of the candidates spoke. She smiled as the girl called to her new green and promptly offered to go get food. "Well done," she murmured to Zeeana.

Cai watched as the Average green paced down the line towards him... then past him without a glance. Not even a look? Cai was mildly offended. Even if he wasn't the most eager of candidates on the sands (nor wanting to Impress for the usual reasons) he felt he at least warranted some consideration. He used to be a weyrbrat sure but he'd been Searched just the same. Albeit from a sick dragon within the weyr itself. But still, how many other candidates had earned their journeymans knots? How many of them had a well developed sense of duty and a strong work ethic? Oh sure some of them may figure it out later in life but Cai hadn't yet reached his third decade and here he was doing everything in his power to save lives. Dragon lives no less.
Actually, he found them to be more pleasant patients then humans when it came down to it. The riders were still a pain to deal with as he had to deal with their overly emotional translations but the dragons on a whole seemed to be more compliant when being told to do something for their own good. It was so much easier when a patient just did as Cai said and didn't argue...
Ah and there went another one. Cai looked away from Average just in time to see Snowdrift meeting one of the candidates and hear the quiet chorus of congratulations spoken from those around him.

Hu, so she wanted Zee did she? Vee watched as the pair met one another and picked out the stuck-up dragon's name; Veitrath. Well Zee would like her no matter what she was like, that was just how things were.
With a last glance for the newly Impressed pair Vee turned her attention back to the Average green as she made her methodical way along the line of candidates. Was she going to choose soon too? Well she seemed to be being careful so she wasn't going to miss much by looking away for a moment; Vee turned her attention back to the clutch just in case any had hatched while she hadn't been looking.

Average continued her inspection of the candidates. No. No. No. She didn't seem concerned or in any way distressed as the number of remaining candidates dwindled. Her dismissals of each candidate were always level, seeming to hold no malice in her movements. Her steps are as even and unhurried as they were when they began. The green turns away from another candidate, a pretty slip of a girl with hopeful eyes. At the next candidate in the line the green stops again, turning her head to them. The dragon stares up at the candidate for several long moments, before rainbows explode in her eyes and a pleased hum escapes her throat.

Quote: Average was getting closer now to where Moluli stood, her careful observations dismissing each candidate in turn. Stopping the dragon stares at the girl beside Moluli for the longest time, before finding her unworthy. The dragon takes a few measured steps and then turns her head to look Moluli straight in the eye. Deep sapphire eyes seem to stare into the candidate's very soul. Any desire Moluli has to shrink under the gaze, avert her eyes or to flee the interaction slowly fades as a surge of confidence rises in her. A steady thrum sounds in her head, as though someone has plucked the chord of a guitar. Moluli is perfect, just as she is. As the sapphire pools turn to rainbows Moluli will come to realise that this confidence is not just her own, but is the fathomless belief in her, held by the dragon at her feet. Hello, Moluli. A steady voice spoke in her mind as a hum escaped the throat of the young green. I am sorry to have kept you waiting. Looking down into the dragon's eyes Moluli will feel a wealth of love and support of which she could have scarcely imagined. Starelth loves Moluli and to her, she is perfect. The last remaining green proceeded down the line, getting ever closer to her. Thankfully the dragonets had been peaceful and no blood had been shed. She thought the girl next to her had impressed to Average, when the green stared at her for so long. Moluli was about to congratulate her, when the dragonet moved on. To her. She blinked back at the deep sapphire eyes that stared into her soul. A single breath seemed to last hundred. Only after the hatching would she realize that while standing there, and feelings to shrink away or flee just fall away. Confidence fills her, as does a steady thrum sounding in her head. Her breath catches in her throat as those sapphire eyes turn to rainbow. Did she? Had she? There was a deepness there that she had never felt before. Moluli gave a sob and threw her arms around her average green. Her Starelth. "That's perfectly alright Starelth! I didn't mind waiting." Sniffling back her tears of joy, Moluli turned to stand beside Starelth with an arm over her shoulders. "Let's get you your first meal." She lead the green toward the tables to join the other greens there. Starelth continued to thrum support into her rider's mind. Yes, I would like that.

Both greens had impressed and not given him much of a second glanced but it wasn't overly surprising. Joscelin remembered the biting chill of Snowdrift, they hadn't connected. And he hadn't felt much with Average. So he was more pleasantly pleased for his fellow candidates then slightly disappointed. Joscelin had felt a connection to daydream.
"Congrats," he said softly.
