"A roommate? Are the rooms upstairs really big enough for that?" The basement rooms certainly were not big enough. He paused for a moment, thinking. Rules to share a bed sounded like some weird romance thing to him. Travis was curious, but didn't want to pry. "So you only go there after sunset?" He had to ask that anyway.

"A small house seems like a good idea. I bet lots of people live out there."

"Um huh, much much bigger and you can use your money to get it well equipped. For instance, a bathroom and a small kitchen. You can even put a sofa and have a TV." Ace listed some examples to the curious trainee as he thought of his so-called roomate's room. "Not really a set rule, but if you go before sunset, you'd meet a scowling face there. That would ruin all your moods." He chuckled a bit recalling that cold expression of "you're not welcomed".

He nodded slightly at the mention of a house. "I bet you get a garden or something. You just need to paint the wall and work on an old abandoned house by yourself, not something a trainee could affort in my opinion."

"Wow. A bathroom and a kitchen?" Travis needed to get promoted, super fast. "A sofa would be great, too." He would love to have a real room, with real furniture and real space and not a dank dungeon to sleep in.

He gave Ace an odd look. "A scowling face? Strange. But I guess that makes sense as to why you'd stay out until then." He didn't fully understand but he understood enough.

"Hm. I wonder how much work it would be to fix an old house. Might have to look into that, too." He scratched at his chin.

"Are you planning to move to a house? Or just stay in the Dorms?"

Not knowing he'd given a big motivation for Travis towards promotion, he simply waved dismissively on the topic of his roommate. "My roomates enjoy their privacy and I seem to be a nuisance according to him." Suddenly there were more than one roommate, if Travis paid enough attention. There might be too many mysteries.

"Do you know twitter? You can ask for advice from those have houses over there." Ace suggested, twitter's a good information exchange platform. "I'm staying with my roommates, they're intriguing and I love to spend times with them." He grinned delightfully thinking of his roommates.

"Oh." Travis wasn't sure what to say to that. A nuisance? It was rude to tell your roommates they were a nuisance, he was sure. He didn't think he should say so to Ace, though. The man seemed content with the situation.

"Uh," he said when twitter was mentioned, "it's on my phone, but I haven't paid it too much attention." He might have to check it out.

"Oh," he said again. Yeah, Ace seemed to be happy with his roommates, then it was all fine. "It' good to be somewhere you are happy."

Travis looked in the direction of the town, then back at the training fields. "Good to know people are happy here." He might just end up happy here, too.

He looked back at Ace. "How often do you leave the island for food runs?"

"You shall check it out." Ace suggested and smiled with agreement. "True, happiness's important."

Hearing Travis didn't pay attention to twitter, Ace couldn't help thinking how much he did miss. Recently, there had been so much drama on the island and twitter had played the role as an information center better than he thought. The spar lately with Not-Jason had made him visited the infirmary and twitter had provided entertainment for the stay there.

"Food supply for the island or.....You can apply for one day leave per month as trainee. Alternatively, you can accumulate your leaves and apply at once. Both work." Ace explained to the Moon hunter, seeing how much stuffs he hadn't no idea for. "You didn't take the newbie package when you woke up?' The man assumed.

"It is important," Travis mused with a nod. Happiness was very important, wasn't it?

"UM," he said when Ace asked about the newbie package, "I took it. But I didn't read it all super closely. There was an awful lot of information, it was a little overwhelming." He'd gotten lost somewhere in all the information about safety and payments and weapons. "I must have missed the part about days off. I mean, this seems more like a lifestyle than a job, anyway. I just took the day of easy rest after that whole Sahara thing to be our time off."

He shrugged. "One day a month, huh? That's not bad." He looked at Ace. "Can we go anywhere we want? Where do you usually go?"

Ace chuckled lightly, "You're not wrong there." A dangerous and excited lifestyle that provided accomodations, he didn't hate that. "I agree the newbie package had stuffed information. When I just woke up and knew nothing about it, I chose to learn it from people rather than reading." Of course, he was lucky that his first few encounters involved nice people.

In his opinion, reading was quite boring but he didn't hate the part when it added to his knowledge. "Just skim the titles and pick those you're interested to read," he gave an advice. The Sahara mission was a big thing, "Ah, be glad you didn't get serious injuries." Said Ace with a playful tone, who thought his luck wasn't bad at all.

"Anywhere indeed. I usually visit the nearest town or city to pick up necessities and foods mainly. I heard that with the portal, you can go anywhere around the world within one day. Isn't that very cool and convenient?" The Sun trainee's tone hinted a small excitement.

"Yeah. Learning by experience or from a teacher is usually the best way, I think," Travis nodded. "Skimming for information is good, too. I should give it another look." He really should.

He paused for a moment. "I am lucky I didn't get hurt. That's why I was out here today. You know, training for next time."

Another pause. "It's hard to imagine that we have the whole world just past the portals. Like, how is that even possible? How are we lucky enough to be the ones to use it?" He laughed. "I never thought I'd see the Sahara, much less maybe die there."

He looked at Ace. "Can we even go to Antarctica? Or like, the North Pole? Do you know?"

"For normal people, it's impossible." The tall man snorted, "They don't even accept and believe the existence of shadows." What he said was somehow true, the majority didn't believe what they couldn't see by their own eyes. It was nonsense for the idea there was something that could completely replace vehicles and allow them to arrive at a place within a few seconds.

A short pause followed. "Besides, there seems to be side-effects for non-hunter to pass through portal." He cracked a mischievous grin before continued. "You can imagine it as a twist of spatial dimension, normal people, which we usually refer as citizen, can't withstand the compression and so on induced. So it's a priviledge given to us, hunters." Ace wore a smirk and turned to Travis, avoided to mention the possibility of body explosion or turning into meat paste. "Our weapons shield us from harm."

The Sun trainee'd mused a bit, "Sure, I think Rep had been to the Pole, forgot which one though." He smiled recalling the Moon said polar bear was his favourite.

"True," Travis muttered. People rarely believed things that were so sensational. He almost didn't believe it, and he'd experienced it.

"Wow, really?" That was interesting. "Normal people can't handle it because they don't have weapons? Well," he let out a small laugh, "I guess it's good they don't know about portals. People are crazy and would try anyway."

"Oh? So it is possible?" Yes. Travis kind of wanted to see a polar bear. "I'll have to check into that."

Ace glanced at Travis with interest without speaking, wondered how the trainee could almost agree with everything he said. Many questions arose in his mind, such as whether Travis was too naive and what if he was a guy with bad intentions. The Moon felt like the innocent red riding hood in fairytale and he contemplated if he should be the big bad werewolf.

Of course, the tall man didn't show his thoughts on his face, Catherine who giggled was the only one knew that chain of thoughts. "More like their lifes are lack of excitements or else they won't invent different kinds of Xsports." Ace got back on track of the conversation they were having.

"You'd better train and prepare yourself, they're not on the list for regular recon. Together with the extreme weather, it makes those place dangerous even for hunters." He commented. "Go at least when you get promoted to intermediate rank."

"Maybe that's it." Travis said. "Though I always thought life was fine without crazy sports. But maybe this," he gestured to the island in general, and being hunters, "is the craziest sport of all."

He laughed. "I do need to train more." It was very true. "I'm a bit sad I'll have to wait to go to places like that, but I guess it's okay. The Sahara was dangerous enough for now."

He sighed. "It's just so weird to think that this is normal. Trips to anywhere, monsters and danger." Another laugh. "Sometimes it's hard to remember that I'm not dreaming." Travis was getting a little lost in thought.

"How do you keep track of what's real and what's not?"
