Nicolai looked at Arthur when he was addressed and he approached the king. His question wasn't one Nicolai could answer with full confidence. Once he joined the royal guard, matters like that had become a last priority; as a retainer, it didn't concern him at all. But, as Arthur questioned Rochelle, Nicolai thought carefully. Had he come across any incidents that involved slavers before he joined the royal guard?

"I recall a few reports on such things, but I was never personally involved in them. Most of my experience with slavery comes from rumors among the citizens and talk between the soldiers that have dealt with slavers." Nicolai looked away thoughtfully. "I may know a few nobles that help fund the trafficking of people, but that's about all I can offer. I'm sorry, Your Highness. I wish I could be of more assistance."

He would try and find out more for Arthur, but he couldn't make any promises. Getting nobles to talk about anything shady they did wasn't exactly an easy thing to do; especially if you reported directly to the king of your country. No one was trusted less by a shady noble than a retainer to a royal. Street soldiers and royal guard members could be paid to turn a blind eye, but a retainer's loyalty wasn't based on money.

❆ •☾•• Allister smiled at Yue's comment. "You can if you like, though it took me quite a while to learn everything, so don't be ashamed if you feel confused." As he listened carefully to Yue talking about his familiy, Allister took notice of the look Yue had. "I see.." He seemed sad to hear that He seemed to be an orphan. But at the sudden mention of a friend he smiled gently. "That is good to hear. It's always nice to have at least a few good friends." ••☽• ❆

Chell took a seat as her friend offered, chuckling a bit at the part regarding Tamlen's dancing. "Maybe Rebecca can get him to come out of his shell a bit. Stranger things have happened." She joked. "All seriousness, though, I hope Rebecca and Tamlen will be happy together. She really seems to like him, and I can't help but wish them the best, y'know?" She said, smiling lightly. Chell would definitely be there to watch her sister dance with the prince, and to playfully tease the lovebirds later on.

Valerie looked at the man that was before her and shook her head. "I doubt there was anything wrong with them. A shifter is sub human and it makes sense, we do have animal qualities." As he touched her cheek and pulled her close she pulled her cheek from his touch and shook her head. "Your eyes should be looked at then. There is nothing beautiful about me. I am a simple servant just because the clothes and hair have made me look like a lady I am not." It seemed like he was trying to seduce her but what he wanted she really didnt know. All she knew was to be wary of men that used sweet talk like him. They usually were the ones that wanted what you couldnt give.

"What do you really want? It would appear your not a fan of humans so I dont see what you would do at one of their parties."



Outfit

The lioness looked to the man before him still unaware of his name though she pulled herself up higher taking strength in the lioness that she was. "It takes more then just a man with a title telling me Im free. I have spent my entire life serving others just to survive its not something I can simply forget overnight." Besides, where else could she go? She didnt know where she was from and that meant she had no one to turn to and nowhere to call home. That was until the man before her offered her a shelter with him. "You came here for me? I dont understand. Why do you want me to go with you, is it just because Im another shifter? Or are there other reasons behind it?" She asked him looking around to see if there was somewhere a little bit more private. Suddenly being surrounded by everyone she wasnt liking it and wanted to get away.
