A flyer had fallen on Amarus' face, and now she was here. Why? She hadn't been in the library in a very long time, and to be perfectly honest the notion that there could be something up piqued her interest. She hoped it involved a lot more combat than one might imagine from part time library work; she could use the release, and spookies know there was seldom anything as it seems at their school. "How did that poem go, Malachi?" Amarus wondered, aloud, reaching down to stroke her Black Sapphire Lupia as he walked alongside her. She made a pondering sound in her throat, thrumming as she searched her mind. The mere act made her sleepy. "Nevermind," she said, with a yawn.

Malachi and Songbird were almost the only creatures she spoke to, anymore. It was enough, she supposed, in a way. When she arrived at the library, she opened her mouth to greet the staff, only to find that a gremlin looking rather official would beat her to the punch. She shut her mouth, and her face went blank. If she was better at showing emotion, it would definitely be a look of dismay: she was going to have to actually write? What had she gotten herself into?

Her bells chimed softly in reply, as she reached to the first empty book she could find and opened it up to begin. The sooner she looked like she was working, the sooner she could get out of this place hopefully unnoticed in the chaos.

As soon as she did, however, the book sucked her right in; she was intensely grateful, for a split second, as it turned out she would not be relegated to this menial work after all.

Maybe there will be combat, she thought to herself, hopeful once more.

Van skidded on all fours, having spun around a corner chasing a particularly adorable grumpkin, and wished he could take off the skull pin to return to his natural form. He growled without meaning to, startled by himself, and ended up a pile of limbs on the floor against a wall as a paper drifted down over him.

"What's this??? There's paper everywhere??" Van mused to himself, pulling the piece of paper off himself and trying to read it upside down. A piece of his tail tickled his nose, causing him to sneeze. "OooooOOOOOooo, the library?" he said, excited, leaping to his feet. He looked around, paranoid someone had heard his secret love for books, and stuffed the flyer in his mouth after wadding it up. evidence destroyed, he mentally patted himself on the back. Then the taste got to him, and he spat it out as a soggy lump. "I have made a terrible mistake," he lamented. Not like the other terrible mistakes, no; this one was alright, he supposed, in the scheme of things.

Nevertheless, he trotted off to the library and set out becoming a paid worker only to be promptly after sucked into a book.

You are what you eat???Van thought to himself, in his last moments.

Generic golem, generic mission, relative calm to his life; Harland wasn't expecting the worst when he discovered he was a plain vampire with fangs and all.
what will you do if you can't admire your boyfriend in the mirror as you-
Not technically my boyfriend, Harland pointed out. He wasn't pleased with himself, but he wanted to mentally interrupt Coyote.

What he did not expect, was being sucked into a book. He immediately wished Alistaire was there with him, and then immediately after that thought Coyote laughed at him.

Otto Graves was ready for an easy mission. So when said mission took him to a library, he let himself feel relief. Sure he was in the golem of some smelly bog beast, but at least he wasn't in the middle of war. Or bugs.

He idly slid through the aisles, much to the horror of bookkeepers who scrambled to keep parchments safe from his goopy skin. His mind wandered much as he did. Where was Chance? What was for lunch? Did they have any fun books in Halloween? As he picked up a book from the floor the keepers had forgotten about, he meant to flip through the pages out of curiosity.

However, he was sucked in, instead.

[Hunter - Matt]

Save people… There was a brief moment as Matt rolled his eyes at the passive aggressive text, save people was why he had come to Desu in the first place, it was the same reason he had a few times died or at least had some memory of almost dying in some way or another on what they considered missions. When he had signed up he had assumed his aid would be more of the medical saving, but as the years continued to pass it seemed less and less true and more of a scramble to keep things afloat each time he left.

This mission would likely be the same despite the promising show of attendance, and instead of having the heart to tell Kyle that he would rather wait until those injured showed back up at Deus for medical aid, he trailed along with him. Someone had to watch over his trainee and Matt didn’t trust anyone else with the job, Kasi on the other hand hissed as always refusing to have anything useful to say other than objecting to Kyle hopeful glances.
He squeezed the younger hunter’s hand before letting it go heading to one of the few vampiric looking golems left. Kasi made some comment about seeing human costumes looking better and he chuckled before logging in.

---

Blinking a few times he looked around, stacks of books were scattered all over the place as a few halloween citizens chatted about something, one looking more concerned about the conversation than the other. Looking around he tried to remember what golem Kyle had headed towards as he ran his fingers across a few of the covers of books near him.

”Matt?”

Kyle blurted out tentatively the moment he regained his bearings somewhat of the entire situation, trying to locate the older Moon hunter who could have taken the form of any of the other creatures within his immediate vicinity. Somewhere in a corner of Kyle’s mind, Semaj facepalmed and gave an exasperated sigh at how inexperienced the Sun trainee, now a bright-eyed werewolf boil in an orange sweater and loose black pants, was. It was fortunate that they weren't in a much more precarious setting than the library that they were now in where any slip up on the hunter's part could lead to an exposure of their actual identities and certain death.

Thank goodness for small blessings such as this.

You probably don't need me to remind you of this but a little discretion will be wise perhaps?

The incubus tried in the end although it soon became evident that his comment had fallen onto deaf ears as Kyle looked around himself at the many shelves of books with wide-eyed wonder and amazement.

A library. Do we have time to go over some of the books Semaj? Do we?

I don't suppose there'll be any harm in perusing some of these books while we're here. Just don't get your hopes up that you'll find any porn alright?

Right.

Kyle snorted, an amused grin playing on the edge of his lips as he ran a clawed finger along the bound covers of the books lining the shelf that was at his eye level. The mission could wait for a bit. This was his very first time in a golem in Halloween and he couldn't help his own curiosity as to what things were like on the other side. Were the inhabitants of Halloween pretty much the same as humans themselves? The hunter had found himself wondering that at times and he wasn't going to pass up on this opportunity to find out more while he was on unfamiliar grounds and amongst them.

Missions made Noah nervous, now, but this was relatively safe, wasn't it? Laz was no help, still silent most of the time, but Noah ignored his weapon's lack of input and went through the process of getting into a golem. He h ad to get used to doing things again.

The library was amazing, and he gaped at his surroundings, barely registering that he was being given instructions, nodding along even though he was distracted. Once he'd been let loose with directions to help with the books, he made a beeline for the nearest pile of books, flipping one open to see what was inside --

-- and the book sucked him straight in.

Golem missions tended to be relatively less horrifying, in Jordan's experience. Not that that meant that they didn't need to be on guard, but generally going to Halloween meant a good chance that there wouldn't be horrifying trauma or long infirmary stays. Going to a library seemed almost relaxing.

Getting sucked into a book, however, was a little less than relaxing.
