Al looked nervous until Noah took the time to kiss his cheek, his entire posture visibly melting into a more relaxed slouch. He paused when Noah quickly busied himself elsewhere before suddenly slinking after him. He slid his arms around the other man.
"Maybe we can start with something simpler for dessert?"

Noah paused to lean back against Al as he was hugged, laughing a little. "Oh, did you have an idea?"

"I saw some whipped cream while you were poking around in the ice box," there was a definite grin in his tone and a lingering unasked question. "Or, I could make some caramel." He snuffled Noah's hair, "You know, For the apples."

"Those are both good ideas," Noah said, as innocently as he could manage. "I like both of them."

He gave Noah a surprised look and then turned his head to conceal the grin that followed.
"Hand me the sugar and butter then," he said while reaching into a cupboard with a flourish and removing a pot.

Noah handed over the required ingredients, smiling brightly. "I can cut up the apples," he offered.

"Good idea," he encouraged as he clattered and banged and turned the stove on. He kept casting glances at Noah as he stirred. Torn between doing it right and doing it fast. In the end he decided doing it right might actually be best as burnt caramel would be a huge setback.
He clicked the oven off as soon as he was sure the consistency was perfect and approached Noah with the pot while still stirring. He lifted the spoon to show the amber tendrils flowing back into the pot. "How's that?" There may have been a cheeky smirk that followed, "Good for dipping apples in?"

"Looks perfect to me," Noah said, and took an apple slice off the plate he'd made. He caught a tendril of caramel sauce, nibbled at the treat, and let out a satisfied sigh. "That's really good. You should try it too. Should we take it back to the room?"

"Yes," he said deciding he didn't mind having only dessert and none of this turkey business they cane here for. "First though, I have to test it too." He closed his eyes and opened his mouth at Noah with a loud 'ah'.

Noah dipped the apple again and put it into Al's mouth, giving him a stupid grin that he couldn't see at the moment. "Yeah?"

Al crunched it up hungrily, accidentally getting a little smeared on his lips. He smiled brightly at Noah. "Perfect." He opened his eyes again to wink at Noah. "Like you."

Noah made a face at Al, but with a smile. "You're trying to flatter me. It might even work." He would have poked Al again, but Al was holding a pot full of caramel, and that could very well result in disaster.

Al laughed softly and leaned forward to kiss Noah on the cheek.
He hugged the pot close with a bright smile, "I've got the pot if you've got the apples. Lead the way."

"We can get dinner later. Dessert first." Noah giggled and headed for the door.

Al was about to run after Noah but paused to lean back in the kitchen, snatch the whipped cream from the fridge, then zoom after him.
