Khree'en smiled at the king "Thank you" she said as she walked back toward the gate, feeling more comfortable the farther she was from the men and this thing that they called politics. She was very green to the process and she knew that she had messed up from the very first action she had made, but that didn't really bother her, she found herself lucky to not have been born to such a life as she walked into the castle.

The Black Dragon with sleek black plated scales would have been hard to see in the oddly dark day until it had come to close for warning. It would land a good twenty feet away and curl its tail in before breaking away into dozens of shadows that dripped into the ground without leaving a mark. Instead it revealed a beautiful (depending on personal preference) woman with raven black hair and skin that had paled due to the colder climates of the north, however her beautiful green eyes were nothing if not still radiant.
She walked swiftly toward the group "your highness! please wait!" she called out and once she was close enough she stopped. She looked at the King with golden eyes and she then moved down onto one knee and then onto both and brought her hands forward as she then bowed her head "I firstly apologize for my unplanned appearance in front of you, your grace, I would like to request an audience with you" she said.

Herod would shake his head towards them as he closed an eye and watched Khree walk off towards the castle before looking to them and thinking a moment. He opened his mouth to speak, though as he did the man's sword would draw swiftly before the wings were heard. The dragon would descend as the guards raised weapons and his eyes gleamed brightly. His mouth would inhale and exhale while he watched it before a voice called out. A woman bursts from it. A dark dragon? It was odd enough that a dragon of that variety was outside of his knowledge, but the color made his eyes squint before he lowered his blade a bit as she approached and fell to her knee. His mouth would furrow a bit as he blinked and tilted his head. "An audience with me, on such short notice?" He'd ask as he blinked slowly and looked around at the people who stood. His eyes would squint a while before he lifted his chin. "Speak."
Duke Chai bowed his head to Xerxies and then looked over as the Dark Dragon came into the fold. However despite his curiosity he couldn't help but think this wasn't any of his business, he had done what he had come here to do "then I bid you a fair well, lord and King" he said to Xerxies and Herod before he transformed into a golden Phoenix and flew toward Ethe

Evelyn looked over as she watched the golden phoenix leave and then eventually saw the white haired one move along. He seemed fairly familiar, but she didn't call out to him, instead she looked back at the king, she would stay on her knees as she raised her head "I want to know if you honor the vows your father and forefathers made to the Lionis family when they first came to power and brought the land together in peace" she asked "And I wanted to know if you would act on them if called upon" she said as she looked into his golden eyes with her swirling green ones.

Herod looked to her as he placed his blade firmly in the ground allowing the other guards to walk to his sides and prepare for anything. His golden eyes looked her over while a sigh left his lips and his hand would lift from the blade. He'd catch their eyes meeting dead on before he put his arms across his chest. It seemed as though she had something meaning behind those words. "Lionis's kings of old walked a path that my forefathers followed. Not for blind loyalty, but from proof of power..." He'd speak before looking to her and kneeling abit. "And they never let my family down, until the day they fell to a hierarchy system." He'd then look to her as his pupils sharpened such as dragons do. "If they proved they still had the p-...No, Power is a word that is much misused. If they have the tenacity, the gull, the courage...Then those vows would hold true, as would my support." He'd state while keeping an unchanging look upon her.

Evelyn looked up at him, not moving from her kneeling position "King Herod, though you may not believe it My name is Evelyn Lionis" she said "I have lived my life in the Lionis army, I have been looked down on because of my highborn status and have been beaten, whipped and forced to sleep in soiled trenches." she said to him "I have been enslaved, beaten, and raped not because of my highborn status but simply because I am a woman" she stopped for a moment and then continued "I saw my father suffer for weeks because of poison and then I saw the woman he called wife kill my older brother, a man who would have been the greatest hope for the Empire since the strong and wise leaders of old. I have been forced to flee home after home as assassins sent for my head have come from my now deceased step mother and now from the hands of my cousins, I have shed tears for a sister that I would have traded everything for to see again." Evelyn looked back at the ground "I have no proof that any of what I tell you is true other then the scars that cross my back and the son that I bore in slavery but still love with more of my heart than most even love the children they have in marriage" she said to him "I understand the minds of those born in the slums of Lionis as I was born amongst them, I understand the minds of warriors as I have trained with them, I understand the pain and suffering of the slave trade that my family has let slip under the radar for far to long because I have been chained along side them, I understand the suffering of those that loose home and family because I have lost both." she said to Herod as her swirling green eyes kept contact with his "I do not know how I can prove to you my tenacity, my gull, and my courage. I know what I tell you can only be taken at face value. I believe however that I am the best choice for the Imperial throne not because of my blood right but because I have seen the suffering of those from Lionis to Ethe, The advances that Bellris and Zalto share, and the strength that Phobos holds dear, and I will do what I can to prove to you and all of phobos that I am worth not just the trust placed in me but the justice that has vanished from Epsilon for to long" she said as she moved her hands to her sides and pressed them to the ground as she lowered her head to the frozen stones "What would your highness think would prove courage? for in my eyes just coming here to ask for your aid is courage in of itself." she whispered.

As he listened to her while he put a hand on his blade's hilt in the ground. His mouth opened to speak before it closed once more and he took up his sword and sheathed it on his side. He'd blink as he approached her and placed his knee down onto the ground while looking to her and putting a hand onto her hand and lifting it. He'd cup his other hand over her's while he closer her palm over a small stack of coin. As he rose again he would look down to her while he turned around letting the royal emblem of Phobos show on his cape. "Tomorrow. Meet here as the sun sets. I will have you preform a trial each king has done before. To seal a pact with the Phobian lords. It will show how Courageous you truly are." He'd say before his guards began to go back to their positions. "For now, on this coin, stay within our walls, and eat. Sleep in an inn, you seem to have hardship behind you. And ahead of you." As he continued on he would move his hand to voer his face while looking back with Golden eyes. "For even if the claims are false, your eyes...Speak to me." He'd call back before stepping into his own domain with his hand holding his cape.

Without word of warning, Princess Esther arrives at the gates of the castle with an escort of thirty two knights of Lionis. They all marched on foot after having flown from the capital to here in Phobos but since they had to land a little outside the city to show no signs of hostility Esther was in no mood for the waiting game. "Gatekeeper, have someone tell King Herod that I am here and that I seek an immediate audience! Now!" Is was clear by her voice that Esther was agitated and it was clear by her knights that she was here for official business. A Phobosian soldier was sent to give word of the princess's arrival and while that man hurried to talk to Herod, Esther and her men waited outside the gates with the Emperor's third daughter tapping a foot with high anticipation.

The King's footsteps crunched against the snow as he walked forth from his gates, the guards turned to the side as he walked through with his dozen Knights by his side. He looked forth, across the yard, to the opened entrance to the premise. His eyes of Gold glew as he waltzed forwad towards her, seeing the 32 men. His mouth let out a light sigh as he brushed his shoulder lightly. The man's mouth showed nothing but his unamused frown as he approached, watching her tap her toe. His hand would rise as he moved a bit of his hair and greeted. "So, to what do I owe this visit?" He'd say, in a slightly drull tone as he finally reached the halfway point of the yard, slowly making his way across. His mouth furrowing as he got closer and closer to her. "It's not often you rise from your velvet sheets to come to the lair of the Dark Dragons."

With the flag of the empire and the flag of her house held tightly by bannermen the pride of the princess bellowed with the air of the night; Torches held for proper light to show the lady's beauty. Her men grew uneasy, some of them gripping tightly on their sword's handle as the strength of myth came approaching their princess, King Herod whispered in awful tales of primal fury among the soldiers, but Esther would show only resolve of a lion to the looming dragon. "It is not often an empire allows a king to operate without that king pledging full loyalty to his emperor, but I guess there are exceptions to most rules." A stern look in the princess's eyes that might match the dragon's own glare. "We're not here for pleasantries so I'll get right to the point. Bellris has chosen to raise a hand to the empire and Azazel will not stand for it. We plan on action and we need to know we have your full support. It is no secret how Phobos feels about other kingdoms," Esther choosing not to name names, "But Bellris is a threat to all. If they have grow strong enough to feel confident enough to kill Lionis soldiers then what makes you think they haven't already thought about war with the other kingdoms."
Esther was unsure what Herod's own thoughts were on the so called free republic but Esther knew what she thought of Hysteria...and she knew what her feelings for Roland were. "The past between us dragons is one laced with much bloodshed and loss, but the republic of dark phoenixes threatens that loss and blood to be shed by everyone; Including their cousins of Ethe. They will not be satisfied with simply having Lionis if they do succeed...and this is why I, Princess Esther Drosselmyer of Lionis, ask you, King Herod of the Kingdom of Phobos, to show your loyalty on the battlefield and raise to glory along your emperor in the light of a future without hazards to the peace we all know."

Herod watched the men who began to quiver and ready themselves a bit as he approached. Herod's name was still revered by soliders it seemed, though his eyes went to her as she spoke of him not bending knee to the empire as the kings of old did, though his eyes merely blinked at her as he walked a step forward with a hand on his cheek scratching his chin. The woman spoke of Bellris. How it rose up against the empire. His eyes were of gold though his gaze was that of the dragon before him as he stared. They asked for help against the kingdom of Bellris, who had started the rebellion. He would look back at his castle as he then followed his eyes up towards some curtains that moved. He'd then turn back around as he stepped forth once more and put a hand on his side as he blinked slowly. "The Empire, which stands so high, is in fear of an up and coming Republic?" He'd say as he let out a slight scoff. "The one who thought to disrespect my land, because I would not bend knee to them, are afraid of the actions of a land who has broken the system and are slowly changing? This is almost laughable." He'd say while he took another step forward this one cracking the ground a bit as he let his foot down before raising his hand.
"I told your highness that I would not bend knee to any king until he proved his worth, and this, this is certainly not the worth I spoke of." Herod raised his hand and adjusted his cape as he blinked. "I for one, believe this issue is more of an Empire's dispute, and as of the year past, the empire hasn't helped my people as they were forced to grow independent. It wasn't peace we shared. It was isolation." He'd say before looking at the men as his eyes returned to a clouded crimson. "And Without even that as a proper greeting to the master of this province. I believe you've disrespected me more than you know."

She noticed the king molding in his mind the situation at hand, not only a warrior but a strategist as well, but what strikes odd to Esther was the off glance Herod gave back to his castle as if something in there was variable to his formulating idea. Yet right now that didn't matter to Esther for the king's words had gotten a response out of her; A slight step back as he spoke to her as if she were her father. "Azazel may have disrespected you, but I never have." She spoke with a sternness voice much more than earlier but this was different. It was less of demanding and more so like an dejected coo. "It is true that my father hasn't been the fairest man, with just about anyone, his children included... But that's why I came alone and am asking of you by my own volition. I wasn't sent by my prideful father. He'd rather see everything in flames to be the king of it all, but I can see that war will have far reaching consequences that will affect us all. I know the peace which we all share is somewhat false but it doesn't have to be. We can all be joined in truth if we all struck at one common enemy and split its holdings evenly among the kingdoms."
Her heart pound and she takes a step to Herod as she dares to plead to him one more time; Her eyes contrast to crimson which she gaze into. "I ask you one more time to please aid in the fight against Bellris. If you do...I swear to marry and ensure that Phobos will gain its much deserved praised and attention." The knights of Lionis were shocked to hear what their princess had just said, obviously none of this was discussed by anyone, but Esther then did something bold and dared to lean forword as if to give Herod a kiss on the cheek yet whispered something instead. "And if my father were to meet an accident upon the battlefield my sickly twin brother won't last on my throne for long there after."

He'd listen to her bold statement as he blinked slowly. His hand would cross across his chest as he began to listen to how her views contrasted with her father's. She seemed to plot behind the scenes to where she had plan to succeed the throne through him. His eyes blinked slowly as he stood still, his stature over her's as she approached him closer with a look that seemed she was almost begging. Though as she stepped within touching range, the guards of Phobos raised spears from all around, though Herod raised his hand. The men stood ready but didn't move as she leaned to his ear and whispered the words that were almost treason. His eyes blinked slowly as he returned words. "To marry the king of Phobos would break your highblood tradition." He'd say as he closed his left eye. "Though you aren't your father, I'll have to refuse you like I did him. I have no use for an alliance built on betrayal... I am not my father." He'd say while stepping back a single step.
"I will not take your side, unless you, like I told your father, prove yourself worthy of a true pact with the King of War." He'd tell her and then looked to the soldiers behind her. His eyes would squint at them a bit before looking to her once more. "And on another note. Your soldiers. . . Why bring them, in such numbers? That could be seen as a threat."

True, her heart did race when the sounds of tipped steal shutter close but Esther was a bold woman. She dared on the dangerous and lived to gamble, that was why she couldn't help but smile when she knew this little ploy didn't fall through; His comment of "highblood" quite amusing to her. "Think of the numbers as a precaution of the cautious." She slightly giggle. "I plan as though your one soldier was of the strength of two of mine. Don't want to be caught off guard in the lair of the Dark Dragons." She smirked playfully, figuring the man had tough enough skin for a tease, and at her love of games riled up she calls back on an opportunity to upstage her father; Courtesy of the king of dark dragons himself. "I respect the way you have a sort of spite for your father. I believe both our predecessors are not the best they could have been for us but they did set a standard which we set our goals to achieve and conquer over. On that note, I'll leave for tonight but will keep you to your word, King Herod. I'm a fighter that knows when to call a retreat but I'm also a persistent girl with a will to be better than daddy dearest." Anymore talking would be a waste of time, Esther felt, as the king had made up his mind and there was no changing it for now. She knew this man was just as stubborn as her father which meant he was just as stubborn as her, and if that were the case then she knows pressing the issue any more would only persuade to do the polar opposite; Out of spite or suspicion.
With a signal of her hand held high the ranks of Esther's knights split, leading way for the lady to turn on her horse and ride to the new front of the lines, Knights of equal high rank at the fronts of either side, and then she quickly marched them to head out of phobosian lands. If she didn't have the respect of Herod she would most certainly not earn his hospitality either, and so she headed off to where she and her men could safely sleep soundly knowing there wouldn't be a knife in their throats by morning. This was an important meeting even though it was short, Esther knew this well in her mind, but for some reason she felt as though a key part was over looked; And so the princess glanced back at Herod's castle to a high window from earlier before looking forward and heading to an in on the River Road to Lionis.
