Hysteria frowned "oh, a pity. For a second their I thought I had an heir" she said with a sigh "did you even give your consent for the marriage?" she asked him "because the Reyel that I knew would have cut him down for such an insult"
She then looked at the ground and sighed "She refused to answer any questions of mine.... instead she wanted me to keep silent and continue on about my business." she said and shook her head "I feel that these attempts at peace are becoming futile, its almost like people want a war"
Joachim raised an eyebrow at her choice of words. why did she imply she knew him? but he would set that misery aside for now. tho before they left he would have to talk to her about that.
"some men crave war. and some crave the power that comes with it. there is no remedy for it. the attempts at peace are only futile if we don't plant a seed in the future generations." he frowned as he spoke, fighting to keep his eyes on hers. he had a bad habit of looking to the skies when he was lost in thought."the goddesses are acting strange. for all of there power, they seemed to be moved by fear and anger. im beginning to wonder why they have reawaken in this time... they might be heralds of whats to come."

Hysteria nodded her head "possibly....or maybe they are just echoing what the people they stand for want?" she said "Ethe wants protection, Bellris wants to find a place in the world, we are becoming stronger" she said "and if Zedekiah was to awaken civil war would probably start in Lionis, if Leo was to awaken in Phobos war would break out on its borders, and if Mnelrolth was to awaken in Zalto they would close their boarders as well" she said "I would not worry to much about the gods awakening, they are gods....yes, but we must not allow even them to derail our plans" she said
Joachim let silence pas for a few seconds before he next spoke. " what you are doing is an amazing thing. but closing the border, just like with Agni creating the fire wall. it invites more scrutiny and more ill will. as it is i am grateful the army of Lionis isn't at our door waiting to take us over for our hubris. this has allowed people to gather armies maybe even in secret. i have had to double the amount of guards in my little city. and if i have had to do it, i bet others have. and i dotn trust that all want peace " he fully turned to face her, an odd fire burning in his eyes. " i gave my wife my word that your daughter would marry out of love. and she did. i cant go back on that word now. Ambrosia is all i have left." he spoke ernestly letting most f the decorum drop from his voice. " i would like to find a way to open your borders again.i would even speak to antari if i must, if something terrible shall come our way. then i want us to be prepared to weather as much of the storm as possible."

Hysteria frowned "Sometimes the people we love aren't the right people for us Joachim" she said "The Emperor Apollion loved to much and now Emperor Azazel loves to little....as much as your daughter may love him, I doubt that move is reciprocated" she looked over at Joachim "I will reopen the boarders when it is possible for me to do so." she said to him "We can not trade with Ethe while the mist is up, and on our boarder with Zalto our trade roots are being attacked, not to mention that the goddess must be placated in some way." she said as she looked back at the river and walked toward its waters "The fact that the goddess requested the closed boarders is only an excuse for something that would have come eventually." she said as she stepped into the water "Until the issue with the trade routes are resolved the boarders will stay closed and all Bellrisian goods will be given back to the people in sort of a...." she looked up at the sky "Kind of like a gift id say" she said to him.
Joachim nodded his head. her words made sense. he would not talk to his daughter about this yet. " what is zalto doing to find the people who are attacking the trade routes." he frowned. "whoever is doing it is to good at hiding." he stared at her back. it seemed there conversation was over. " how do you me. earlier you said it was not like me to behave as i have done with my daughter. " he narrowed his eyes as he focused on the woman in front off him. " there would be little to nothing about how i was in the records you could find."

Hysteria smiled softly as she bent down to feel the water "As far as I can tell, they are doing nothing" she said to him before looking back at him as she stood back up " The bellris family has been marked by tragedy since the beginning. Antari herself was killed in the most brutal fashion, We had a queen that was burned to death by her heir, and then about what... a little under sixty years ago the second in line to the throne... Shiphera if I remember correctly, was pulled under by these very waters by the currents" she said as she looked at the water, watching as her dress continued to soak some of it up "No one knew Shiphera's ability but that day she found what it was as she subconsciously managed to switch her soul with that of her older sister the crown princess Kastara Malbara Bellris."
Hysteria frowned as she looked at the moving waters around her calves "About thirteen years ago Crown Princess Hysteria was eating some lemon cakes and began to choke on one, and died" The former queen brought her hand to her throat "A maid that had been with the family since the time of Queen Astara found the dead princess and took the Lemon cake from her mouth and she began to breath again, but instead the maid was found dead" Hysteria sighed as she looked up at the sky "Princess Shiphera was able to manipulate her soul and the souls of other beings and has been managing to live for 75 years despite her body drowning and loosing its life"she said, finding that all of that had just came from her mouth...It felt strangely good, after Agnes had passed away she had no one that knew, and it was painful.
He was speechless. he stared at her. tears that he had thought would never graze his face once more did. he felt the anger and rage that he had felt as a young child once more hit him. he was not strong enough to save his sister. and that had spurned him to work towards a true goal. always int he back of his mind he blamed himself for Shiphera's death. " 75 years moving from body to body...." he held tightly tot he walking cane he held. " i thought i had mourned you more then enough...."
he closed his eyes for a few seconds as he composed himself." so that's your power to move from body to body... i do not know ho much of this i can really believe. tho i do believe it." he opened his eyes. they where once more composed, but with a softness to them that was reserved for very few. "i thought those that could know who i really am would be long dead. but even if my daughter was not married to him. i have no claim in my blood. i have softened over the years. i like to think that maybe. just maybe, i can be wrong people."

Hysteria chuckled slightly "I've only had four bodies...my orrigional, my own sister, a maid...and now my great great great grandniece, though I guess that brings up the question of if Hysteria is my niece as she came from my sisters body or if shes my granddaughter because she takes from my soul" she said to him "I mourned my own death when I had to sit at my own burial in the necropolis, it was scary, it made me afraid to actually die." she frowned "Its a power I should have never have come into, I can live for as long as I want so long as I damn another in my place, force them to face the fear that I am to scared to go see myself, something I should have gone toward a long time ago." Hysteria walked toward the bank of the river and sat down "I thought I had mourned your death as well, and all my half brothers and sisters when they were banished from Bellris. When they found the bodies They were our siblings, when your body was identified we did not know it was not you" she looked down at her hands "I was so angry when I came into my crown the first time, I took it out on Ethe and Lionis, but I have matured... I have lived a very long time and know how petty everything really is"
Hysteria then looked over at him "I think your daughter is a fool to marry a Lionis for love. She has doomed her children to a life of misery and suffering now that they share that blood with the Emperor." she looked away again and bit her lip "Every Lionis I have ever met in my life has been idiotic, lustful, or war hungry." Hysteria huffed and pointed farther northeast "We have Nesters that roost over in the far northeast of our territory, A Lionis Emperor named Cesare went to them and got torn apart. I personally had to bring his body back to Lionis and had to pretend that I was sorry that he had died in these lands." She said and looked at the sky "Emperor Marik enjoyed pitting his twin boys against each other until one finally killed the other, his youngest became emperor and banished his older brother and decided to sleep around with all manner of loose women." she shook her head "this Emperor is worse, I heard that he enjoys killing the women he beds....I would watch out for Ambrosia" Hysteria was looking down again "I hear hes already taken up with another mistress."
" i cant guide her life for her.. but i will be looking out for her as best i can " he sighed. he really was to old to deal with having his last remaining connection to his wife be in such distress. it never rains but it pores it seems.
" i thank you for letting me know all of this. but why did you tip your cap? " he looked at her curiosity on his face. " i am sure you wanted me to figure this out.' he still was processing that his sister was in front of him. he did not know why he could easily believe her. but he would see just how far things went. he would have to research the emperor a bit more.
