Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, high atop mt. chair

It was a clever move, playing to his hidden sympathies, but it wasn't going to work this time.

"That won't mean s**t," he spat, shaking his head at Alois. "Why would she listen to—"

Rabbit fell abruptly silent when Thorne entered, all of his vitriol draining through the threatening finger he held aloft. That one had done something to him when he'd arrived here, and he was loath to draw its attention again so soon, not when he still wasn't sure which feelings were his. He barely breathed as he shuffled away from the taunts and the blood, climbing Hux's comforting chair and watching the proceedings over its back.

Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, avoiding

And there they went. Threatening. Frightening. Even the woman was throwing punches.

Rabbit sighed as he circled his way around the edge of the room, scaling unbroken bottles and the rare out of place book. His clothing fluttered around him, and even though it was normally intended to draw the eye, none of them were on him. For now, he was okay with that.

When he reached the chair, he raised his hand and touched his double's thigh. "Have a seat. Let's talk."

Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, no

Rabbit jumped when he felt something press against his leg, the abrupt motion causing him to bounce on the cushion like a jack in the box. He turned and crouched, leaning against the back of the chair as if he was using it for cover in a third-person shooter.

"You're not getting my ******** mask. Go away."

Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, negotiating

With his knees bent, it was easy to push the other Rabbit to a seat with his own superior strength before taking one just beside him, their backs to the violence.

"I'm not lying," he murmured. If you give me your mask, no one here will have reason to hurt you. And you don't truly believe you're important enough to be the tithe, do you? I mean, it could happen, but it won't. You think Alois is equally unimportant, that his offer is meaningless. You think that I'm unimportant because I wear your face. So put an end to all of this. Remove your mask." He smiled, benign and beautiful. "I'll tell you what. If you take yours off, I will too. With Adoelle on the list, I'm sure both of us will be just fine."

Alois ducked the punch deftly, leaving inertia to carry her fist toward the bookshelves. He made no move to counterattack her; as Alexander recently voiced, it was not their place to discipline a guest. She, too, responded poorly to threats, as he expected from both Alois and Bennett’s reactions. Rabbit bid carefully in his persuasion, which Alois found commendable, but their negotiations reached a standstill.

„Fine, then.“ Alois relinquished his grasp of Hux’s hair unceremoniously. Whether the oaf toppled to the floor or kept himself upright was no concern of the masked man’s. „Let me be clear with you - what was your name, again?“ Hands clasped together and knotted, a gesture of no sudden moves. „You are standing among those who are far stronger than you. You cannot hope, even together, to overpower the four of us. This is fact. We draw from deep wells that you simply do not have. But, as we have both agreed, you are a guest here. I will offer you this solution.

„You don’t want to see these people hurt. I understand that. I do not like to look upon my Father’s hurt daily, but his tribulations are not ours to resolve. These, however, are entirely fixable affairs. We can leave Hux to his sorrows, you to your affairs, and Bennet to his…“ He swept the air with a freed hand. „Whatever he prefers to do when he sulks like this. We can file down the stairs calmly and leave each of you to resume the festivities. Would you like that? Would you be willing to bargain for it?“ He looked from her to Thorne, then back to the girl. He watched the debate between the Rabbits. He looked to Hux and his superior self.

I suppose we’re missing one in this affair, are we not? Wherefore art thou, Thorne?

Juniper Wilcox (Maskless) | 25/25 | Game to hear Alois’s deal

With all her energy and forward motion thrown into her punch, Alois’s deft dodge meant that Juniper’s entire body was thrown off when she missed. Eyes wide, she brought her other hand up, the one grasping her mask, to brace herself against the bookcase. A few of the tomes were shoved out of the way in her haste to keep from falling forward. Two of the books fell to the floor with an audible thud. Grace was not an adjective anyone would have used for her at that moment in time, as she flipped herself around to face Alois, nearly tripping on her gown in the process. Of course, whether it was just a natural lack of elegant movement or the alcohol in her system was up for debate.

Though her attack hadn’t gone as planned it still achieved the desired result and Hux was released. The poor man had taken back to slumping to the floor in a heap. Alois’s words were carefully digested as she knelt down to place a comforting hand on Hux’s shoulder before she looked up and shot Alois the dirtiest of glares.

“It’s Juniper and do you always like tooting your own horn?” She snapped at him. This jerk was so full of himself. First resorting to violence and now trying to broker a deal? What the hell was going on here?

Blue eyes turned back to Hux. Carefully, she ran a hand over his hair to try and smooth out the now disheveled locks. She could hear Rabbit’s double trying to broker a deal of his own with ‘her’ Rabbit, and things were just. Well, they were ridiculous and why not stop it if she could?

“Fine. A deal. Let’s hear what you have to say. I swear though, if you hurt any of them anymore it’s off and I’ll go make a complaint to one of your superior's.” It may be a bluff, maybe not. Juniper wasn’t sure herself that these three would even care if she went to the Burning Man or this Melany about them. Hell, she may not even be able to get near them, but it was worth throwing out there.

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | Doing dubious things

Thorne exhaled as the tides around him continued to turn and shift. There was a simpering sort of anger in the room, but all of it was doleful and ugly. The itch in his fingers still existed, hungry for something that he wasn't finding here. Still, Alois had invited him, and Melany had other things to attend to. His heart, or what rot was left of it, wasn't in the room. But he was.

And maybe they could drag him awake again if they tried hard enough.

The flow of conversation ebbed in and out of manipulations and dealings, like bargains being struck between two unevenly matched parties. It felt criminal, a ring full of petty thieves playing for cards. But they were dark creatures dragged into the light. If Thorne had once looked at himself from a different light and thought of all those lush religions that called him a monster, well, it didn't matter anymore.

He crossed the floor to the broken Hux on the floor.

Crunch, crunch, crunch went the glass beneath his feet. The shards stuck and plundered the soles of his boots.

He paused next to Juniper. His eyes slid to her. Blackened, ugly. Melany might have been holy, but him - oh, him.

"Do you really think you have the standing to do so?" He asked her, his voice sharp and cold. His smile felt like the edge of a knife. "By all means, try and scare us if you'd like."

He picked his way over to Hux, ignoring the two Rabbits. Alois was given an appraising once over, a roving and wolfish look. But this beast, this ugly creature, this hulk of a man broken on the floor... His mouth worked, disgust coiling in his throat.

Exquisite beauty and absolute obedience.

The sick sound of flesh and bone connecting was like a crack of lightning through the room. Thorne's leg was a whiplash of motion - coiled, uncoiled, ricocheting off of the beast of a mans chest with more power than seemed fitting of a creature like him. He stalked after the toppling man, nudging Hux's body until the hulking beast was on his back.

With another sharp motion, he placed his heel against the soft skin of the creatures neck. Head tilted, eyes cold, Thorne examined Hux beneath him. Hux in atrophy.

"Do you really want to live?" he asked.

And his boot pushed down, down, down.

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - dying?!?!

Hux was dropped onto the marble, nothing but a bag of flesh and bone to the otherbeings. Just a doll to be tossed around and beaten as they saw fit. He'd put so much effort into trying to rip himself away from Alois that he'd exerted himself just a bit too much. His muscles ached and tugged and turned to nothing but useless bits of sludge within him. On his hands and knees, he buckled. His head thudded onto the ground with a sharp crack and his vision exploded into white. He groaned, perhaps even lost consciousness for a moment or two.

When he could feel again, he realized there were hands smoothing his hair; touching his back. It was comforting. It reminded him of...

"M-Margaery?" He blinked at Juniper, through the tears in his eyes and the blood that had dribbled from the new split in his forehead. He was delirious, in his grief. "Mar- I'm s-so sorry..." His words were slurred and muffled by a jaw that wouldn't quite work as it was supposed to. He'd started to pick himself up, just in time to receive a heavy kick to his chest. The breath left him. He hit the floor hard enough to bruise whichever bit of him hit first. Another kick was delivered, and another, and another. He coughed blood, he saw black. His ribs crunched within him and his wrist snapped when it was caught by the toe of Thorne's boot.

When he came to again, he was on his back and Thorne's boot was pressing hard into his throat. He couldn't breathe, no matter how he struggled. He used his good hand to wrap around Thorne's ankle but he couldn't find the strength to do anything about it. He dug his nails into the skin of the other man's leg, scratched at it, but could find no release. Black edged his vision, his lungs felt as though they were about to explode in his chest... he choked and gurgled, blood dribbling from the corners of his mouth. The memories he hadn't discarded began flashing through his brain. He thought of Gretta, Margaery, the kids, his mom, his dad, his friends... he was about to leave them. The ones that hadn't left him already, that is. He couldn't even respond to Thorne's question. His hand went slack, his eyes began to roll.

Am I... dying?

Hux in a Suit - 25/25 - coming to da rescue sort of then exiting

"Enough, now." The Other Hux said with finality as he moved to roughly grab Thorne by his shoulder and pull him off the shell of a man, barely living after all the harassment brought down upon him by the wrathful god that was Thorne. "You'll kill him, and they'll kill you for it." All of them knew that.

He looked down at the original Hux, bruised and broken. He brought his own foot down hard on the wrist that was already broken, then stomped- too- on his hand. Fingers broke, the bones shattering like glass. A strangled noise left the broken Hux's throat and he reached his limit. Black consumed him, pain having knocked him unconscious. The suited Hux grinned wickedly, then turned away from the scene to regard the rest of his allies.

"My presence here is no longer needed." He said, offering the Rabbit that was not truly Rabbit a glance that lasted longer than the one he gave the rest. "Join me, when you're finished." He said to him, then left; making no sound as he descended the steps.

Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, making poor choices

It shouldn't have surprised him that his double knew his mind, but Rabbit sat there stupidly nonetheless, suppressing a wince at the commotion behind them. He didn't think of himself as one who would ever be chosen for any special honor, it was true, but this was not an honor at all, and he could easily see being picked for it. One final cosmic joke to pile on all the others. Death frightened him like little else, but there was one thing about this proposal that still enticed him.

"You'll take yours off too?" He stared at the other Rabbit, unblinking, trying to see into its thoughts, its soul if it had one. Leaving his copy maskless was his only hope for returning home, even if he was left lacking as well. It was that slim chance that the one sitting next to him would be chosen instead that made him itchy to agree before the offer was rescinded.

He sucked air past his teeth when he heard Hux fall, and tried to turn.

Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, being mean

"I promise."

His hand shot out when Rabbit gasped, squeezing the other's forearm a little harder than what was necessary.

"Ah, ah, ah," he chided. "No need to worry about them. Huxtable is just sharing a few of his memories. I can relay some of my own, if you'd like. Olivia. Kevin."

The Rabbits Vaughn: 25/25, fite fite fite

Rabbit's fingers curled, pushing blunt nails into his palms.

"Shut up. No. Thank you."

It was now or never. They had to do this before anyone could notice. Before they could be stopped.

"You know, you're not leaving this tower until we reach an agr—"

"I know. Do it. Now. Count down or whatever. And if yours doesn't come off, I will kill you." He swallowed. "Somehow."

"That's fair." Rabbit shifted, straightening the strips of crêpe, silk, and damask that draped across his shoulders. "Ready?"

Two pairs of identical hands lifted to their masks.

"Three. Two. One. Go."

Maskless Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, losing

By the time his inferior reaction time allowed him to reach for the delicate golden mask loose in his double's hands, it was no longer there. An iron grip had a hold of his instead, plucking it from his lap before he could be stopped.

"You p***k! Give it back!"

He lunged for the other and was dragged out of the chair for his trouble, grunting as the back of his head met the marble floor. They struggled in silence, and when the two Rabbits broke apart and regained their footing, the one in purple had three thin scratches across his cheek and a growing lump beneath his hair. His teeth were bloody when he spoke to Alois.

"Where is he? The real... one of you?"

Not waiting for an answer, or rather waiting for one but prodded by his jangling nerves to keep moving as he did, Rabbit crossed to Hux and Juniper, standing awkwardly by. He touched the woman's shoulder, fingers shaking. "Is he breathing?"

Maskless Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, lousy with masks just not on his face

"I doubt a deal is necessary anymore, Brother," he said, tucking his masks away as he crossed to Alois's side. "But you were a wonderful distraction." He nodded at the departing Hux, then addressed his twin. "Please don't steal another mask any time soon. I don't want to have to waste time taking it from you again."

He turned to the others with a pleasant smile, the ones who weren't huddled around the broken human. "So. What now?" Without makeouts or manipulation, the evening ahead already felt boring.

[ THORNE (masked) | 25/25 | +3 to attack ] : leavin

Thorne shrugged when Hux pulled him away. His eyes flicked between the two creatures, hulking and giant. One burned and the other - well, the other could have been dead. But oh, the night wasn't over yet. His eyes flicked around the room at the squabble, and something simpered in his chest. He was restless and hungry, and every minute he spent here was tearing down the careful construction of iron self-control that Melany had made him build.

Rabbit asked what now, and he only shrugged, maneuvering for the door.

"What now is the night goes on," he said with a thin, razor smile on his face, turning to look back at the other. "Enjoy the night. I have some business to attend to, and it looks like this mess is coming to an end."

He closed his fingers around the edge of the door frame and stepped out onto the edge of the staircase.

Looking back, he added, "If you want me, come and find me."

And then he was gone as well.

alois scholz (masked) || 25/25 || welp change of plans

Alois smiled, his teeth cutting a pearly division across his face. „It’s very simple. Destroy your mask. The fire’s right over there. Destroy it, and I won’t touch your precious boys. Not one. Not again. Unless, of course…“ He trailed off, as Thorne began his assault on Hux, crushing him into more of a boneless husk before. The masks came off of both Rabbits, and left the one he cared for most bare. Alois spared that look toward him, naked care beyond his feathered mask, and looked back to her.

„An amendment. Give your mask to that Rabbit and we’ll leave in peace.“ As Thorne did already. This entire affair felt far less orchestrated than he would’ve liked; while some damage was enacted appropriately, the rest of the room operated beyond the bounds of his control. Hux was now a quivering pile of smashed bone and blood, Rabbit was defenseless without his mask, and Alois was already subject to the grueling tasks in punishment. He had but half a foot to stand on, and it irked him. He should’ve discussed his motives beforehand. „If you choose to decline…“ Alois clapped his hands together. „We’ll see what the rest of the night has to offer. I expect it won’t turn out well for your friends here, however.“ Another smile.

„Come now, you don’t have much time. It won’t take long for him to bleed to death in that state. Perhaps internally. I might even let you borrow my assistance if you hand over your mask to my brother nicely. No tricks, no traps.“ He held both hands up and splayed the fingers.

„Wait just a moment, Bennett,“ he cast over shoulder. „Wait and see if she complies. Then I bid you on your way - it’s your evening to enjoy, so don’t waste it on work. Perhaps you and Huxtable should take a walk in the garden.“

Then the lesser Bennett spoke, and he frowned somewhat, but realized the usefulness behind the question. Sending him out now thwarted at least a little treachery. „If you want to find the Wretched One, try scouring the paths between the Black Hall and the Garnet Cellar. I’m sure you can find our sommelier somewhere in there.“

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Telling doubles to ******** off and helping Hux

Margery? Jun looked down at Hux’s unfocused gaze. Whomever he thought she was seemed to distress him as the apology slipped from his lips. She was confused and curious about who this woman, Margery, was but she didn’t have much time to contemplate it. Just as she thought Hux was going to make it back to his feet he was ruthlessly kicked back down. It all happened far too quickly for her to react. One minute she was by Hux’s side, caring for him and the next she was practically shoved out of the way while Thorne wailed on the poor man.

Anger and betrayal flashed in her eyes as she screamed at Alois. “I thought we were going to make a deal so no one else would get hurt!”

Hux was mercilessly beat and he took it. Just took it. And that hurt Juniper’s heart so much to see. With intent to do her damn best to get him away, she was ready to rush the double to shove him off of Hux just as the double of Hx stepped in. For a moment she thought that maybe one of the doubles was going to show they had a heart, but then he stepped on Hux’s already broken hand. “Bastards!” She cried out at them as she scrambled over to Hux.

She didn’t know what to do. He was bleeding terribly and had to be in an incredible amount of pain. Not to mention there were certainly broken bones with the horrible sounds she had heard. Jun had no idea what was going on, or why these doubles were doing this, but she was fed up with it.

Alois’s voice broke through her growing anger, and Juniper turned to look at him. Her mask dangled from the crook of her arm, useless to her. It was apparent though, that it meant something if this Alois wanted her to give it up and she’d be damned if she did that now. “After what you did here you want me to give it up?” She stood up to face him, eyes flashing. “The deal was off the minute that your ‘brothers’” she spat the word, “attacked him!” She stepped forward, trying to use her entire 5’7” height to her advantage, but Alois still topped over her. She didn’t care though as she gave the man a shove on the chest. “You can just show yourself out the door. I’d be damned if I took any help from you!” Again she reached out to push him with all intent of maneuvering him towards and out the door.

“And you!” She turned her glare to the rabbit double. “Get your a** out of here too! I think you’ve all done more than enough damage!”

With that Jun was done. They weren’t worth her time or energy when poor Hux was behind her bleeding. Spinning on her heel she hurried back over to the bearded man and dropped down to his side. A hand ran down the side of his face as she tried to figure out what she should...could do to help him.

Wait...I wonder if that will stuff would work again for healing someone? Hadn’t Temp dont something like that before? She couldn’t remember exactly, but she was willing to give a try. The question was, where did she even start? Was he in danger of dying like Alois said? Or had that merely been said to try and convince her to cave to his demands? “Hux. Hey, Hux.” She said softly while gently tapping his cheek to try and get his attention.

She looked up to Rabbit, ignoring his double, and made pleading eyes at him for assistance.

tw: a lil gore just a lil

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - sort of aware but mostly in agonizing pain

Hux could barely move now. Every breath lanced through him like a lightning bolt of pain. Every bit of him ached, and he'd be covered in welts soon enough. Existing, at this very moment, was torture. His eyes- rimmed by purple and blue- fluttered open and they were blood shot, the vessels having burst when Thorne's boot had been placed so heavily on his trachea.

Hux. Hey, Hux.

His first thought upon recovering consciousness was not Margaery. He frowned at the sound of the woman's voice. A voice that clearly did not belong to the sister he'd thought had been stroking his hair however long ago before. He shifted, barely, and whimpered.

"M-my ribs." They were broken. Or fractured. He wasn't sure, only that he'd never been in such an amount of pain before. Not since he'd broken his hand during an impromptu bar fight. Speaking of broken hands he was quite sure he'd never be able to move his right one again. He turned to look at it and wanted to vomit at what he saw. Fingers splayed at odd angles, shattered bone punched through skin- and red. So much red. And the smell.

Once again, his eyelids fluttered. His good hand moved to touch the hand that had found a place on his cheek. He looked at Juniper, pitifully, and through the tears that seemed to flow endlessly down his cheeks; though no other bit of emotion showed on his face.

His eyes drifted to Rabbit, maskless now. He frowned at the other man. "Rabbit." He said. He was barely functioning, could feel himself shutting down. He coughed and the spasm caused a whole new wave of pain to thrum through his body. He accidentally moved his left hand and saw only white hot agony for a few moments. He choked, and realized his throat ached too. Could he live through this? He wasn't sure. He couldn't think. There was only pain.

Maskless Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, storing his disdain away for later

He watched the woman brazenly approach his brother, beat at him with her small, ineffectual strength, even though he raised his hands in warning, ready to step in if she got completely out of control.

Once she had retreated, he shook his head. "It's all right, Alois. I have more masks than I can wear. I just need to find someone willing to trade. I'll be fine for now. And I think I will take your suggestion. These wretches will be miserable enough now without our help." He smiled, faintly patting the taller man on his shoulder.

Maskless Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, trying to help

Rabbit looked back at Alois's double, surprised he had actually gotten an answer. "Um, thanks. I... I'll do that."

But not right now. His attention was sharply drawn to the poor sap on the floor when Hux uttered his name, and Rabbit frowned as he knelt opposite Juniper, hoping that would keep the man's eyes off of him. Perhaps you and Huxtable should take a walk in the garden. Peh. The sooner he got out of this manipulative, confounding place, the better, even if that meant he had to die in order to leave. Ignoring the broken giant, he looked across his body into her worried eyes.

"I don't know if this is going to work, but it's worth a shot." In his time here, he'd seen people will things into truth, wishing to float across the ground or grow flowers out of their heads and making those wishes reality. It wasn't too much to presume that healing might work the same way, though the thought of him healing anyone sparked a tickle of laughter deep in his chest. "You should try to fix his ribs. Think about him coming back together again really, really hard." Rabbit rested his fingers on Hux's ruined hand and closed his eyes, picturing bones and skin knitting together, even though he was woefully ignorant of the mechanics of the human skeleton. He thought he felt warmth, but he wasn't going to stop whatever this was until someone told him to.

“Oh, I’ve been excused?“ Alois smiled after he shove. „Then I suppose we’re done here, brother. Come, let’s see ourselves out.“ Alois extended a hand toward Bennett before he strolled toward the door. Seldom had they managed to spend time together this evening, but if Huxtable and Bennett took up his suggestion, then he knew where to rejoin them. He offered a jaunty wave to those he left behind.

„I’ll see the rest of you at the party.“ And with that, he was gone.

Juniper Wilcox (Maskless) | 25/25 | Trying to help Hux

"Hux!" She called to him. "Stay awake, ok?"

Jun only gave the doubles a glance to make sure they had actually left before turning her full attention back onto Hux. By that point Rabbit had joined her on the floor and he was focused upon the broken hand, attempting to heal it with, what she assumed was, magic.

"Just focus on it?" Would that really work? Was this like that time in the theatre? Could will alone repair the damage done to the beaten man on the floor? Her brows furrowed but she did as he said. Carefully she placed a hand on each side of his ribs and concentrated as hard as she could. She willed the bones or whatever was damaged to knit themselves back together.

It was an odd thing, sitting there, leaning over Hux, with her hand splayed gently against his side and willing that he just 'be better'. In a way it took her back to her days as a child when she use to strongly believe in magic, fluttery faeries, unicorns and dragons. Back then anything was possible to her. Why and when had that all changed?

Probably when adulthood began crushing her dreams and people told her to grow up and learn to take care of herself.

Well, maybe they were wrong?

Digging into her core she found that little child who believed in magic and dreams. She poured all of her will into her want to make Hux at least less likely to die from his wounds. Slowly she felt a warmth spread across her hands. Whether or not that was just from her hands resting on Hux's side or not, she didn't know, but she let herself believe that it was the magic working. That it was doing what she wanted it to do.

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - sittin'

Hux gasped. His body arched as white hot heat threaded through him, the source of it coming from the palms placed against his skin. His bones popped and crackled within him, righting the wrongs that had been done to them. The others were still amateurs though, even combined. Most of the damage remained. Would remain, until his body healed itself. But, he wouldn't die and he felt a helluva lot better than he had moments before.

When the heat had left him, his eyes fluttered open again. A sheen of sweat made his dark skin glisten and he felt as tired as ever... but, alive. He groaned as he pulled himself off the marble. His muscles felt tight and sore, his ribs- though no longer broken- were still fractured and especially tender. His eyes were red-rimmed and he felt parched.

He reached for the nearest bottle and took a swig, then sputtered as the alcohol slid down his bruised throat. He looked at Juniper and Rabbit.

"Thanks." He croaked.

Maybe there was more to be said, but he didn't have the energy nor the will to try and figure out what. He took another drink then, shakily, lifted himself to his feet; near-stumbling to the chair so that he could settle into the plush velvet cushions once more. He stared into the flames. Less broken on the outside, but a whirlwind of destruction within.

Maskless Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, bye

It was like they weren't even in the same room anymore. He didn't look behind him when Alois offered his arm, Rabbit simply took it and followed him out. This task was done.

Maskless Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, sittin' too

As it turned out, no one told him to stop, there just came a point when he could no longer continue. Rabbit dropped back to sit on the floor instead of kneeling, his head swimming for a minute as if he had tried to quickly stand after lying down for hours. It was vindicating to actually help someone for a change, but all he wanted to do now was rest. He didn't even mind that Hux had taken the chair. It was his, and the man had been through a distressing amount of trauma in a very short stretch of time.

Rather than trying to discuss anything important, Rabbit sighed and grabbed a bottle of his own. He hunched over, protecting it with the curve of his body, but he didn't open it.

"You okay?" he asked Juniper.
