"Syyyyyyth" Alice whined as she was getting closer to being eaten yet again.

The moment the chain snapped, the chains completely shattered and disappeared. She ran forward without hesitation "Drop her!! Zaku drop her!!" Sonnet yelled out and the dragon dropped Alice and moved to grab Sonnet but stopped and tilted it's head down to meet Sonnet.

She reached out to the dragon and appeared to hug its face as a light shown and the dragon vanished, instead, a man with pink hair was returning the hug to Sonnet before he passed out and she laid him down on the ground. He was wearing white royal clothing and had a crown on. Sonnet took a breath and sighed with relief. Looking up to Syth, she looked grateful. "Thank you..."

Alice got up and dusted herself off before looking at Sonnet and Zaku. "....the white king.." she narrowed her eyes in confusion before moving to Syth quietly.

'I'm coming!' She spoke back, ready to attack when Sonnet's voice rang out. The dragon immediately dropping Alice down and moving back to Sonnet almost as if he were a pet. She let the sword drop to the ground as she moved to Alice, helping her get up.

With everything settled and her attention turned towards the pair she was finally able to see what she had done. The dragon had disappeared, instead a man with pink hair was passed out next to Sonnet. His clothes making it quite obvious that he was of royalty. As if it wasn't obvious enough Alice spoke up, revealing the identity of the man as the White King.

'I hope I didn't scare you with that;' Syth commented to Alice, remaining as quiet as ever as she waited for the moment to pass. The Jabberwock was defeated, she could get the sword, and move onto getting those masks and be ready to go back home.

Alice sighed softly. "....just a little." she admitted. Moving to Sonnet, she kneeled down. "We need the sword." she spoke softly.

Sonnet looked to Alice, nodding a little. "It is in the altar."

Alice nodded and moved to go retrieve the sword they needed.

Once Alice was a bit out of sight, a distance away, Sonnet motioned to Syth to come closer.

She watched as Alice moved away towards the Altar where Sonnet had said the sword was. Her feet getting ready to move and follow along, but Sonnet had motioned her to move closer. She looked confused though, she didn't know what Sonnet would want and she definitely couldn't communicate to her.

Just sitting there awkwardly as she kneeled down by her side, locking her eyes with her and pondering exactly Sonnet was going to do.

Sonnet waited until Syth was close to give her a slight frown. "Things don't feel right... and maybe you feel it too." she ran fingers through her own hair to delicately slide it behind her ear then took something out of her pocket. A triangular rock with a hole in the center. "When in doubt, the truth will reveal itself when you trust your heart." she smiled and handed it to her. "Let's just keep this a secret, okay?" she pushed it towards her, hinting she should probably hide it on her person somewhere.

Alice found the sword and sighed with relief before heading back to where she left Syth and Sonnet.

]To be fair things haven't been right since she got here. Still she reached out to grab the wrong. Her eyes looking it over, just pondering what the point of it would even be. When in doubt the truth would reveal itself.... would it discard someone's glamour? She took it and hid it within her own clothes. Giving a nod to Sonnet's wishes. A secret it would atay as she got back up. Taking a look at Alice as she brought back the sword. Oh, that one looked /much/ nicer than the one she had used to break Sonnet's chains.

'So now we got the sword. Lets steal those masks and get out of here'

Once Syth took the stone, Sonnet sighed with relief but went back to tending to the unconscious Zaku as soon as Alice came back.

Alice smiled as she brandished the sword. "Got it..." She nodded in response and took Syth's hand and led her back out. 'I know where she is. This way...' she thought to her and moved down the winding paths until it turned to black gravel, and as they moved, the foliage and flowers had begun to die off and become ashen.

There was a dark red castle in the distance as Alice looked far more determined this time, she knew she couldn't lose with Syth by her side. "The red queen will do anything to deceive you, so don't believe anything she says.... she's a manipulator of hearts... but no matter what, I'll be right here with you, okay? So, don't be afraid." she warned but nodded with smile, reassuring Syth it would be okay.

Approaching the doors of the castle, she took a deep breath. "Are you ready?"

And through the winding paths she went with Alice. Moving from twist and turn until the road they were taking turned to black gravel. The flowers starting to appear dead and withered. The land looked worse for wear and it seemed whoever had been here was a thoroughly corrupting influence.

She took in a deep breath as she continued to walk forward. Side by side with the doppleganger she had come to trust. Hopefully, she could see Alice for real one day.

She nodded in silence as she pushed for the door, unsure if she was ready for what was before her.

Alice smiled as Syth returned a nod. They could win this.. they could actually defeat the Red Queen.

The doors, despite how large they were, opened easily. The castle was massive within, but empty. A great hall lined with a red carpet the lead to another set of doors. Alice felt her heart racing, far more impatient than usual as she gripped the sword in one hand and grabbed Syth's hand in the other and took off for the door. She felt so confident. The Red Queen would never stand a chance now.

She moved to grab the handle on the door, but before she could pull that door open, a sudden blast of shadow energy slammed into Alice, knocking her several yards away from the door as she was thrown to the ground hard with a painful yelp and the sword clamored against the floor, the sound of metal over stone as it slid away from her.

"And what did you expect to achieve by coming here with that sword, hmm?" a female voice spoke as a woman with long black hair and gold eyes stepped out from behind a pillar and approached Syth. She wore a red suit and atop her head was the glint of gold that flittered from an ornate circlet. "....You seem to be lost. Let me show you the way out." she warned with a cold look.

Alice hissed softly. 'Syth, get the sword, kill her!' she thought to her, trying to find the strength to get back to her feet.

"Stay down, Alice. You and I need to have a chat once your friend leaves." Mara growled with barely restrained anger behind a veil of forced sophistication and status.

And as soon as they were through the door a bolt of magic quickly took down Alice. A quiet gasp escaping her as she jumped back, watching her body get knocked back away from the door along with the sword. This was a great start to this entire ordeal.

She wasn't about to race over towards the sword right now. That to her seemed like the quickest way to becoming the next target and she wasn't about to guess how good the Red Queen's aim was or how quickly she could dodge something like that.

Nor was she about to leave. For now she slowly stepped towards the side, making her way towards Alice to figure out a good time to retrieve that sword.

'You say that like I already don't know what to do' She gave a snarky response back to Alice still trying to get her gears moving on what to do aside from just charging at her. Maybe the sword would be able to deal with the magic. Negate or reflect it back? She bent down to quickly snatch it up, making sure not to leave eye contact with the Red Queen.

Alice was getting up as Syth took the sword in hand. That was until something shoved her back down, a swirl of shadows pushing into her back to hold her down, pushing harder and harder. Alice grunted softly, trying to shove against it but she couldn't see as the shadows solidified into a male form, short black hair and glowing silver eyes stared coldly down at Alice, his knee pressed into her back as he held her there, saying nothing. Tri looked up at Syth and narrowed his eyes.

Mara glared at Syth as she picked up the sword. "I see... I don't know what's she's told you, but Alice isn't the good guy in this story. Turn her over to me, and I can send you home where you belong.... That's what you want, isn't it?" she was moving toward Syth, a stern gaze on her. "Give me the sword. Don't give in to her delusions that she's some kind of heroine fighting a tyrant. She's wrong. And she needs help."

"..y-you're wrong... We are kept prisoners here in this world..." Alice grunted, in pain as she tried to get free to no avail. "We can't leave! I just want to leave!!" she yelled.

Mara's lips pursed into a thin line. Unamused, angry. "You're not allowed to leave because you're a deceitful liar. Alice.... you're not even the real Alice. You're just some imposter that thinks they're Alice. You need help and I can do that... Tell your friend to put down the sword."

"None of that is true! You're trying to make me look crazy and I'm not. Just let me leave!!" Alice yelled.

Mara frowned. "Alice...who ever you are... if you continue to fight me on this... I will have no choice but to kill you." she looked at Syth "Just give me the sword."

She let out a deep sigh as she heard the Red Queen's spiel. Her eyes rolling at what was being said, as if she hadn't been referring to Alice as a doppleganger this entire time. Still she continued to formulate a plan, even as a lackey appeared behind Alice and took her captive.

Again she'd have to rescue Alice. Another quiet and long sigh as she placed her free hand next to her pocket. Would now be the time to use this? Nnnnngh she had to pick who or what. Too bad she couldn't just teleport and grasp Alice and attempt to whisk her away someplace safe.

Yet a phrase caught her off guard. Alice wasn't allowed to leave because she was a liar. But she had left. That was the whole reason she was even here in the first place. She put both hands on her sword and took a defensive stance.

'I believe you Alice' Syth spoke back to Alice, readying herself to strike at the queen. Taking in a deep breath as she hoped to have a break through of some sort. All she had was this dumb sword and this queen had magic.

There was a quiet tension as Mara waited for Syth to decide. But her stance gave her all the answer she needed.

Alice looked to Syth with a small look of surprise then smiled. '....thank you...' She took a breath and growled as she used a burst of strength to turn and throw Tri off her. He was caught off guard as she rolled and grappled him, struggling with him as she tried to punch him, effectively keeping him distracted so he couldn't interfere with Syth fighting Mara.

Mara glared, "So be it. I will protect the crown at all costs..." she growled and ran for Syth, summoning shadowed energy to her hands to throw at Syth.

She breathed a sigh of relief once Alice had thrown her assailant off of her. Looking at the queen, sword in hand as she moved to jump at her. Trying to bait her attack out so she could counter it. Though in the back of her head she still thought of what use the rock would provide.

This was the last obstacle before her. After this she would be free to return back to where she came from.

Mara saw Syth try to counter the attack, but blocked it and even knocked the sword from her hands to the ground. She held a shadowed blast in her hand. "I'm not into hurting innocents. I understand you're caught up in this and I don't understand why you are so invested in her, but if you just give her up, I promise that I will send you home. You can go back to whatever life you lived before this and you can just forget all this happened."

Tri was fairing against Alice as they seemed to stalemate in strength. She wasn't able to hit him, but she had grappled him enough for him not to be able to hit her either. She was too involved to see what was happening with Syth, she was only focused on defeating Tri right now.
