June cowered slightly under the look. She couldn't help it if the information was confusing; she hadn't experienced it for herself and was relying on a secondhand source. She chose to look down as they walked.
"Right," she said. "Well. I feel like you're handling all of this a lot better than me." June would've probably had a severe lack of sleep by this point; though whether from fear or excitement she wasn't sure. On the one hand, superpowers were very cool. On the other hand, knowledge of a spooky second world with dangerous things in it was frightening. All things considered, Shun and Mercer had seemed very cool about it all.

"Panicking is not going to help anyone. Just need to assess the situation and figure out how to best deal with it," he grunted. Not that June was panicking, but..

"I agree," she said, looking at him somewhat oddly. "By the way, when I was talking to Mercer he seemed a bit ... peeved that I was asking about the case. That I'm not supposed to be privvy to certain facts ..." She waved her hands. "I told him you hadn't breached any confidentality statements or any of your contracts- don't worry."
(Technically that was true- if they were going by the cover up story version).
"Just ... a heads up, I guess. I don't want you getting in trouble because of a nosy secretary." She paused, venturing a look at him. "I do like talking to you all about it though. I'm never usually in on secrets."

Shun would have folded his arms over his chest, but he was still carrying his motorcycle helmet. So instead, he just let out a huff.
"Is there any particular reason for that?" he asked, raising his brow at her. The question was in regards to not being in on secrets all that often.

"Ah- you know. Always busy with this and that. Usually people only see me to sign things or to complain to the city and or police department. Not a lot of time for secrets.." That was her own predicament though of course; hard to make close friends and learn secrets when 1) she was always working and 2) she wasn't really sure she wanted to.
She shrugged. "I don't really talk to people unless it's work related usually. Earlier Leila asked me out to lunch and I thought it was a joke!"

And with that, Shun turned on his heels to start heading back towards the Police Department. It was rather warm out, especially with his attire, so he didn't care to be lingering out for too much longer anyway.

June was mostly quiet for a bit, but eventually felt like the silence was somewhat awkward. "Um ... so other than the crazy superpowers ... how was ... your day?"

The detective raised his brow at her.
"I was working. Then questioned by you," he answered. He thought that was obvious enough.

"At least the weather is nice. It's been so hot lately, Captain gets tired after a few blocks."
