~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. It's not because I don't want to, but because it's best if I don't." ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
Once the two of them had woke up in the morning, Rowan and Alistair set out to head back into the forests outside of Carmillion and Eldrin. Whatever was going on in the snowy mountains of that new kingdom, they wanted no part of it. After all the crazy things that had happened the other day, Rowan simply wanted to get back into some familiar terrain with creatures that he actually had some sort of idea of how to deal with them. Walking through the forest, he was somewhat happy that he did not have to wear that white coat anymore, risking the chance to spread the name of the dragon-slayer any more than he already had. If Blake ever heard about that, she would not let me hear the end of it. It would be constant complaining or jibbing at me. Then again... I wonder if she would even try to mess with me about something or if she's too afraid. Rowan thought to himself, contemplating how Blake would go about trying to have a joke with him. She probably would not be any good at it, and Rowan would definitely not laugh at anything she tried to do. It would be a terrible time.
As the two of them continued into the forest, Rowan quickly realized that they had not come across anything for an hour, showing exactly why the forest was a much calmer place. "Just one hour here and we're already back to some sort of normalcy. No monsters, no bad luck. It's almost like we're finally back to normal." Rowan commented, somewhat concerned about this turn of events. Did that mean they should avoid that snow kingdom for a while now? After all, being there caused them nothing but grief. Not only did they find very little, they were attacked by many, many strong monsters that could have killed them. If the first creature that attacked them had not been a single dragon, then that snake skin would have been the only thing they would have made money off of. "I don't think I could handle whatever bad luck that place was generating for us." Rowan stated, disgruntled by how things had turned out when they went through the snow region. Well, at least they had the interesting bow that was strapped to his polar bear. Speaking of the bear, he patted the creature on the side as he continued to ride it through the forest.

All I am is a weapon, and that was all I was trained to be, since the beginning." Z.O.M.B.I.E.

After walking around for what seemed to be about an hour, Rowan finally discovered something. While it was not an item, a monster, or even a person, it was something that might lead them to such things. He found a pile of trash. That trash had to have come from something, and whatever it was it was probably human or something similar. "Yeah, this is what I'm used to. No stupidly powerful monsters. No bad luck, just generally nothing. While I'm glad to be out of those mountains... I'm not quite sure that I like being out here in the forest. I don't like picking between having nothing to do and running away from everything." Rowan stated, disappointed that it was nothing but some leftover trash from people. Regardless of whatever it was, however, he was going to make the most out of their finding and try to locate something. With any luck, they might just run into some enemies or something of the sort to keep them occupied. If that as the case, then they might get something interesting out of the encounter. Yes, that was the spirit. He needed to find some sort of positive outlook for this adventure.
"Alright, let's move on." He stated, having he bear move further into the forest and continuing their adventure. "Not that I care, but do you think Blake's having a difficult time with that viper-woman you call your wife?" Rowan asked him, mostly staring in front of him and not actually looking at Alistair. "She seemed pretty upset to be leaving the apartment, and your wife seemed to be the source of that dissatisfaction." Rowan continued to speak, clearly not entirely happy with what had occurred a week ago at the apartment. "Regardless of whatever she's done to upset you or that woman, there's no reason to be that hostile towards her. It's not her fault that she ended up the way she did. If anything..." He stated, muttering the last part of his sentence as he contemplated whether it was his fault or not that Blake became the way she was. Was she going to naturally become that way, or had he misled her into becoming an entirely different person from what she was supposed to be. "Whatever the case, back off of her. And I mean that." Rowan stated, seeming as if he were still grumpy from waking up not too long ago. There seemed to be a protective spirit in his attitude, however, as if he were trying to shield Blake from negativity.

Despite his statement, Rowan was not upset with Alistair or trying to start some sort of fight to pass the time while they traveled. This had merely been on his mind and he wanted to clear his thoughts of it before they journeyed too far into the forest. After all, if they were distracted by such things, then they might fall prey to whatever was living in the forest. That, however, was probably unlikely given that they were both Knights and Rowan had an armament. That made fighting quite simple for the two of them, as long as the enemies were of a certain caliber. It also helped that they were in familiar terrain now, which meant that they were well aware of the monsters that lived among the trees. Back in the snowy mountains, they were in brand new territory and surrounded by creatures that they had no clue ever existed. Not only were they out of their element, but the only creatures they knew how to kill were dragons because those were the only creatures similar to the forest. Well, the snake sort of counted as well, yet it was also made of ice. That sort of excluded it from that grouping of creatures that were known to them.
"Let's just try and find something before we have to set up camp." Rowan stated, looking around for any signs of the people or creatures that they were following. Luckily, he was able to find just what he was looking for not too far away. It only took him around thirty minutes to find another lead, which was actually somewhat impressive considering their records they set yesterday for how unlucky the two of them could be. What he was greeted by when he moved in for a closer look, however, was something that disappointed him immensely. What they found was a camp that had been utterly destroyed by something. While this was pretty normal for exploring, this meant that their lead had been attacked by something that destroyed their camp. Did that mean they were no longer among the living? There were some tracks that led out of the camp and in another direction. So, with a new lead to go on, Rowan began to rid the bear in the direction these trails were leading, hoping for the best. This is definitely different from yesterday. Rowan thought to himself, unsure of whether or not he should be happy about this turn of events. Obviously, he wanted to find something at the end of that trail and not just a destroyed campsite.

≎ 𝕬listair 𝕿rinity ≎ Ⓚⓝⓘⓖⓗⓣ Alistair was with Rowan. He wasn't sure which was the less deplorable situation. When it came to exploring being uneventful, at least there wasn't a moment where he questioned anything, but things had been too eventful in the mountains. Honestly, he was glad to be back in his own territory. The polar bear stuck out like a sore thumb, though... They'd just gotten started for the day, though, perhaps this trail of trash led to a little something more. "Hmm? Maybe. I don't know exactly why Cheyenne had planned for her." All he'd known was that it was going to be more exponentially more intense than when his wife had initially taught his daughter, and the kid found that hard enough. From what he could tell, the woman was still stewing on it before they'd left. Alistair was a little surprised that Rowan openly brought up Blake without a demeaning comment attached to it.
"Blake broke an unspoken code among self-respecting necromancers by attempting full resurrection. We only recently learned of her naive reasoning behind her choices. She acted against everything we'd taught her growing up. It was...through various means that this whole thing occurred. I think she's learned her lesson, but Cheyenne wants to be sure it's...cemented." They were, in fact, the ones who didn't tell her to drop the subject entirely when Blake came up with the idea. She'd betrayed them, yes, but it wasn't her actions alone that caused this. The man raised an eyebrow at Rowan's trailing off. Did the kid possibly blame his past self for this? It wouldn't be incorrect, but there were many factors that led up to where their family was now. Alistair raised his both his hands up in good will, fighting the threat of a slight smile. Well, this was the way things were now, and all they could do was move forward. At least he was showing some sort of willingness to protect the kid, even if it was from her own parents. "Yessir."
They came upon a destroyed camp with some tracks leading away. That could be what caused this mess. Where were the one who'd been here? There wasn't any blood... "Let's see where this leads," he murmured in his deep voice.

Rowan did not care for Alistair's explanation for what was going on with Blake. For the most part, she had explained the gist of what had happened without the details about breaking the rules of necromancy. Yes, that must have been a terrible thing, yet he did not see how terrible this actually was. Maybe that was just him being deluded, however, and he was choosing not to view her actions as something terrible. Rowan, himself, had grown used to pain after all, and he would never admit if he was actually suffering quite a bit from something that Blake did. So, whether or not she had wronged him remained to be an unsolved mystery. "She's done everything just fine since I was brought back, so there's no reason to force her into something she obviously doesn't want to do. It doesn't mater if she needs to be punished for it, she learned her lesson from whatever happened. So, obviously, there's nothing to be gained from retraining her or whatever you guys are doing." Rowan complained, obviously not seeing the logic behind her parents' actions.
After about an hour, Rowan realized that they were getting no closer to finding what made the trails. Not only that, but the trails had started dispersing around the thirty minute mark. Now, after an hour had passed, the trail had run cold, and there was nothing there for them except an empty road. "Just great. An entire forest with nothing in it. We're just fantastic at exploring, aren't we? This is way too ridiculous. We either see everything under the sun, or we see absolutely nothing for miles upon miles. Four hours and nothing to show for it except a destroyed camp and some trash on the ground. What kind of joke is that?" Rowan asked, obviously discontent with what had occurred so far. Whatever the case was, they needed to keep moving forward if they hoped to get anything done today. "C'mon. Let's see if we can salvage something from this trip. Even a bedroll would make me feel a little better at this point." Rowan stated, his discontent with finding absolutely nothing in the forest beginning to show rather blatantly now. It has been four days since they started this little journey, and they had very little to show for it.

~Rowan~ "There used to be a point to everything, but since that day I can't seem to find myself caring about anything anymore. Rowan thought they were going in the right direction.... yet that was not the case. Soon, they found themselves lost within the forest, having gotten turned around at some point and unable to find a way back. Just what was going on today? Not a trace of anything had been spotted, and now they were lost on top of that? Never mind about their luck not being bad, this was the absolute worst day they had ever had for an adventure. It was full of nothing but tracks that led nowhere, trash, and a forest that led them astray. Just what was going on? Three days of pure bad luck in various different forms?! Even the items they found were practically useless to them, as they used swords, lived in a region with very little snow, and their Mages were capable of healing the two of them. "This is absolutely absurd... I don't know how much more of this I can handle. It's really starting to irritate me." Rowan muttered to himself, trying to figure out just how he was going to approach this situation without obliterating another rock. Obviously, he might just fly off the handle soon and need another hour to cool down.
Well, the best thing to do was to keep something on his mind that did not make him freak out or anything of the sort. All he had to do was think about the past... memories that did not hurt or cause him any trauma. As such, he merely thought back to the times he would hang out with his little sister, letting the small child repair his gauntlets and armor whenever they would break apart. She was such a sweet girl, and she had a natural talent for fixing things up. She really was the best... wasn't she? He thought to himself, a slight smile threatening to form as he remembered his own past, how much he wanted to return to that time. It was too late for that now though, and he could never go back to those times where he was happy. Just what sort of life was he living now, where his only joy was to remember and never to make memories? Even Blake was her past self in his eyes, the child that he had met crying on her way home. I accused her of living in the past too much... but maybe that's what I'm doing. Maybe.... I can't move on from what happened to me. Rowan thought to himself, clenching his fists as he continued to ride the polar bear.

Thinking about his sister did not do Rowan any favors in attempting to find his way back on the path they had been following. After about an hour or so, he realized that he had been too distracted by those thoughts. Whatever the case was for the present, he had really messed up bad and led them astray because he was too focused on the past. I.... what am I supposed to say in this kind of situation. Sorry? I mean.... I can't tell him that my sister was on my mind, can I? Rowan thought to himself, slightly worried about how he should explain what had happened to him. Then it dawned on him that Alistair did not know his identity. It was perfectly plausible for him to not connect the dots since countless people could have sisters. As such, it might actually do him some good to get this sort of thing off of his chest and not let anything build up. Turning his head towards Alistair, he merely observed the man for a few moments before he finally spoke. "I.... I'm really not in the right state of mind to do this right now. I think we might need to stop for a bit." He stated.
Without waiting for a reply, he climbed down from the bear and began to set up camp for the two of them, getting everything ready as best he could. Once that was done, he turned his attention to the old man and began to speak after sitting down. "I got us lost... and I... I guess I'm sorry for that." Rowan stated, unsure of how to go about this. He had never been courteous before, and he had never apologized whenever he was in the wrong either. At most, he merely kept silent and walked off without another word to whomever he was arguing with. "My mind... was on my sister. I... it's really hard to think about her and not feel like everything right now is pointless. My family... my friends.... they're all gone now, relics of the past. Yet... I could live with that... if I didn't have to live with them as well. If they were gone, then it would be one thing... but they're here. I'm the one that's supposed to be gone." Rowan explained, looking towards the ground as he spoke, the weariness of the man becoming more and more apparent. "I just feel like my life isn't really a life. There's nothing to it except living. That's no way to try and survive. And even if I'm a Knight that's dedicated to protecting someone... that's also being nothing more than furniture. And... I'm not even sure if I don't want to be just that. It's so... confusing." Rowan explained, trying to put his mind at ease.
