As the tah watched one of the combatants go down and heard the crack of bone he felt momentarily queasy but it didn't show on his features or his body language. He listened to the tah calling the shots now, his words seemed to hit a cord with him. A new age sounded like a good deal even though he was brand new the idea sounded like a winner to him. When the other said to make an example of the wounded one he whole heartedly agreed to that. It would give anyone without a doubt that this particular tah was leader. And then when he went to the throne, well there was no doubt now who should be in charge to Lev.

He stepped towards the nan who had whispered 'for the new age' and nodded to her, "For the new age." He repeated quietly as if it were a secret.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 01, 2016 8:32 pm

Arlii nodded to each of the nans in turn briefly, eyes flickering back to everyone around them. They returned to the nan that spoke - Samantha - as she considered what she proposed. "I fear anything we do will hurt him more without a true healer to see to him." She said quietly, feeling her lips peel back in rage at what had been done to the pale tah. Her eyes burned with fire and a sense of betrayal. How could their brothers and sisters be so... blinded?! The fools!

Shaking herself quickly, Arlii could see no other way around transporting the tah. She herself wasn't a small nan either and agreed with Samantha. "I will help balance-" Her words were cut short by the sudden sound of Shen's voice. Arlii's ears instantly pinned back as she bared fangs. So he was letting them leave? How chivalrous of him. She felt like heaving up her last meal.

A glance was spared to the crimson tah that had challenged Shen as well, and her heart ached. They could not risk trying to rescue him as well. Weaver watch over your woven child. She sent a silent prayer before turning to the other nans. Before she could speak again, the pale tah was getting to his paws. She was alarmed by this and instantly leaned a shoulder down to help him keep his paws under him. "If... we each take a side, I think we can get him out of here with no other issues..." She murmured.

A part of her feared walking out and leaving her home behind. There was nothing else she had known, but this? She would never support Shen. Or what he would do to the Fire Tribe. If there was still a Tribe...

"Please hang in there, brave tah. We'll get you out of here." She promised.

Xavier

The crimson blazed Tah remembered to breathe deep, slow and even breaths to keep the pain at a tolerant level. Xavier needed to keep his body as calm as he could in that moment but knew that once he was moved the pain would become harsh until he was taken to where ever Shen designated the holding quarters. For now he needed to try and keep his mind alert to know where that location was and by whom was going to stand guard to watch over him.

The male hoped that whomever the healer was knew what they were doing to set his leg back to right, as Xavier would accept the healing so that he could build up the strength of his leg again and fight harder the next time. The Tah stayed silent now listening to Shen as he spoke in rallying his blinded followers and to his opponent......Xavier inwardly smiled at being called a wasted spirit. Grand Weaver help this male but he was going to meet someone much more fierce and stronger of mind, heart and soul one day that will take away his pompous image to show who the true wasted spirit is.

While he envisioned that moment, Xavier knew that he would not be the few who might taunt and poke and prod at the fallen enemies. No, Xavier would simply look at them and then leave them alone not expressing a single emotion or word. However back to the present he hoped that Ashur would heal and survive his wounds.....and felt that what Shen had done to the pale Tah that bravely fought to the best of his abilities would now become a martyr that would stir up the deep fires within those who disagree with Shen into a new roaring and fierce fire....One could hope to prevent what was done to Ashur from happening to anyone else. Just as he hoped he could do something from within the enemy territory to disrupt the progression.

Xavier laid there, slightly curled as he listened to the assembled repeat their vow of a new age and deep down hoped that his mate would be alright until he returned to her and their adult cubs.

Cinead

Cinead was stone cold silent. He forced himself to digest everything that just happened. Xavier had fought bravely but the opponent broke his leg and would now become a prisoner of Shen. Then Ashur....bloody lava what Shen had done to the brave pale Tah was detestable. Cinead didn't expect the battle to go that far, perhaps bloody the pale Tah a bit but that was it; not take his eyes from him! It made Cinead clench his jaw tightly as he looked around at everyone who either had left from this place, helped Ashur or stayed to follow Shen.

It touched his heart however to see bold members of the fire tribe step up to go and help Ashur. They looked ready to do battle should anyone make the mistake of approaching them. Shen was giving them and anyone who opposed him free passage this one time to leave and never to return, thusly dividing the fire kin completely. There was no help for Xavier. Unfortunately he would probably end up left dead once all eyes were turned away and made as another example of this now newly formed fire kin's power against their opposition.

Cinead pledged nothing to this male as he simply nodded then waited to be dismissed with the rest of Shen's followers. There was no way he was going to make it obvious where his loyalty was at this moment. Something told him to keep calm and under the radar, almost out of sight and out of mind unless it was absolutely necessary for him to be spoken to or to speak up. It was saddening to Cinead but that sadness wasn't going to do anyone any good when there had to be someone out there among their territory who could and would defeat Shen to bring upon the true new age.

Mazin stood wide-eyed in blank panic. His legs felt like liquid, and he was fearful of moving them. He felt that if he attempted to run the cub would only get three steps and then faceplant because of his inability to move. His mind by comparison was sharp, alert. He was aware of everything everyone was saying, and yet most of the sentences left his head the second they entered. He couldn’t concentrate.

After the fight had erupted he was thankfully saved from watching the worst of the battle by having hid behind the long legs of taller b’alam. Granted they had unintentionally barred his viewed, but the unacknowledged generosity of such was not lost on Mazin. As horns, teeth, nails and metal clashed with one another at first Mazin had been amused. This entertainment shortly faded to concern when the pale b’alam hit the floor and Mazin could see the result of each attack. Then he realized the loyalist b’alam were not slowing their onslaught of attacks. Blood kept pouring, slashes from claws kept coming, and the defeated b’alam were far from treated with fair mercy. Then, the unthinkable. The big mean Shen guy- he, he-!!

That his mother willingly stood next to a b’alam wore proudly tore out others eyes confused Mazin to no end… No, it was actually starting to upset him. He was angry with this decision of hers! Though he felt powerless to conduct this upset in any useful manner. He could still hardly move, after all.

He heard something that gave his concentration back “...going to leave, do so now. “ Leave, yes! Leaving was something he could do. His mother would probably think he had just crawled away with the crowd and went home. To father and his sisters. Which honestly sounded like a pretty awesome idea to Mazin.

The cub willed his wobbly legs to function and bring him closer and closer to the exit to this horrible room. He assured himself that so long as he stayed out of the way nobody would notice him leaving…. Though someone always could, he supposed.

It was done. The strong had been the victorious and as she had suspected that little white tah had failed horribly in his duel. It proved to the green Nan two things, one- she must be prepared to be ruthless for what she hoped to achieve. Two, the weak should never challenge the strong unless they had a plan in mind.

“For the new age.” Arcelia chimed with the rest of the crowd. While not exactly smiling her face twitched with the sign of a grin under that stone look she was keeping.

A smirk crossed her face "So it would seem now the mice have begun fleeing". She turned her attention back to the fight. A loud crack echoed through the chamber. The fight was over, despite what the defeated party was spouting in an effort to remain dignified. It was unfortunate as Shen's voice ran out ending the fight. She'd have rather slit Xavier's throat and rip out his vocal chords That would solve the problem quicker. Alas she almost sighed her dream was not to be.

she could break his spirit she was certain. She'd seen the light leave many eyes, though none of them balam. It was a wonderful feeling to watch the hope leave their eyes and see them broken. How wonderful. Let that one feel as though he had pride, there was more than one way to ruin someone. That was one of her special skills.

Thyra took a step back respectfully as Shen assumed his position on the throne she bowed before roaring echoing shen "For the new age." Oh she was giddy, this was going to be the most fun she had in years.

She cringed again at the sound of snapping bone, red eyes squeezing shut to block out the deafening sound that sent the idea of pain into her own legs. Yahui is greatful that she was on the stronger side of this battle.

Sighing deeply in a way that suggested mere boredom, she stood and stretched, moving away from the fallen and now blind whelp of a Tah and weaving her way closer to Shen. She knew where her loyalties would lie. She had made that brazenly clear earlier. She took no part in the physical battles and still wanted no part in them. She could fight, of course, but Yahui saw little to no purpose when her own methods of wit and charm seemed to work far better for her.

"For the New Age!" she joined in with a bit of a roar as she approached the throne, then promptly bowed her head to the great Tah.

Smaug could not follow the order that Shen had made, No he could not yet leave. There was too many risks, to many b'alam that could pose a potential threat and rise up against Shen. even though there was several who had already joined their side during his brawl, still to him the risks were too great to leave Shen here in the Chamber.

Taking in a long deep breath he calmed himself, and wiped away the blood which continued to drip from his nose with his paw. "I can not do that." Smaug spoke. It was not defiance in his voice as much as it was of worry. "Not yet,"

It was true that many had left the chamber with the white Tah after Shen had his way with him, but there was still many more that worried him. After all it was hard for him to tell what others were thinking until they spoke their mind. He had just newly awakened recently and had yet that experience. Though his battle with Xavier had showed him a lot as well as gave him a starting point with his own strength.

Vinny eased up her paws on Asher, having been applying pressure to his various wounds. She made sure the bandage around his eyes was secure, it would be more painful if debris got in his empty sockets until they were healed.

"We can do that" she replied, helping him stand.

She inclined her head at Samantha "We should hurry, follow us".

Vinny began to slowly make way to the exit, Tan scurrying around their feet, making sure they weren't followed or the angry ones didn't get to close. He was a feisty little guy.

"If you need to rest a moment, just let us know. Although we really should keep going, once we are out of here we can slow down." Vinny did her best to keep her side steady, and she had to remind herself to not fidget so much with his bandages.

She watched, painfully, as the Tah called Xavier was crippled before them. He was the example of what was to happen to any that should oppose the leader that stood before them. "For the new age!" She cried along with the others that stood around her.

[ooc:] my muse is sooo not here right now.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 07, 2016 9:51 pm

Another stepped close to her and whispered, as if guarding a precious secret, her initial comment. Slowly, the room filled with the same four words, only the tone and enthusiasm grew until the words were almost shouted. Those standing on the side of Shen out-numbered the cowering weaklings hovering around the fallen. Good riddance. If they were moving in the direction of pride and strength they wouldn’t want the stain of weakness or cowardice on their good name. For once she felt a sense of…kinship. There were B’alam that had never met or spoken to each other suddenly uniting under a banner. Good or bad- they were here as one. Those that would remain divided were leaving them to their glorious harmony.

”I won’t die.” Asher assured the two beside him, his voice purposefully low. Every step was horrible. The simple movement of placing a paw ahead of the other stretched skin along his shoulder, up his neck, and into his face. Planting each paw was worse. The ground sent shock waves through his body. Every time he jarred even a little it was as if a paw reached in through his throat and pulled at his gut. It was only through an iron will and the Weaver’s good grace that he didn’t loose his lunch on the obsidian floor under him.

He kept moving, his head low and his teeth bared shut. As much as he wanted to swallow his pain and walk out with his head held high, that wasn’t within the realm of possibility. For now, he took comfort in the gentle shoulders of allies and kins’balam beside him, knowing that if he was to walk from these lands, he would not walk alone.

At the offer of rest, Ashur only muttered a, “No.” Of the two options- shaking his head in stubborn refusal or uttering a single word, the later was the least risky. If he shook his head or moved it any more than needed, he would likely loose his paws under him and find himself kissing the dirt once more. A second time would likely hold him there or throw his innards around. “Keep…just keep moving.”

After a moment, and a few sharp, hissing breaths, his ears lowered slowly and his shoulders fell. “…thank you, sisters.”

Shen watched impassively as the cowards took their leave, some escorting the pale fallen at his sides and others shaking their heads in quiet disapproval and moving along. He’d not missed the small cub taking leave of his own mother- how sad -to join those who would rather live away from their homeland. It was a pity, really. Their leaving meant that they would not tolerate unity. They were not willing to pay the price. They were unable to live without the coddling of an appointed wise-B’alam or a divine paw nudging them along the path every step of the way.

Good riddance.

Those that remained had his full attention and devotion. Quietly at first, then more loudly, the roars of loyalty rang through the hall. Within them laid the future. Each one held an ember that would be kindled into a bright flame. Soon the realm would see the raging inferno of the Fire Tribe. They would bring warmth- gentle to those they could call friend and terrible to those they called foe. They would bring light- guiding the way into a future. They would be the tribe to rise on their own four paws and defy the fate cowards and traitors would have them chained to.

As Smaug refused orders, Shen only glanced his way curiously. His reasoning was…strangely moving. He was standing sentry to ensure that none would raise a paw towards him.

Interesting…

“I appreciate your devotion, soldier. It will be rewarded, rest assured…but see to the captive. I can handle myself. Any that can strike me down likely deserve to do so. Those that cannot…well.” He nodded after the B’alam retreating. “They’ll join the rubbish.”

He looked back to those that remained and raised his head. “My brothers and sisters- you have proven your loyalty to me. Now give me the chance to prove mine to you. If it takes every drop of blood in my body or every breath in my chest- I will see this tribe to greatness. Spread the word.” He smiled, a strangely gentle expression on an otherwise hardened face. “Let our kin know that the time of uncertainty is over. We move forward starting now.”

He rose from the throne and retrieved his cloak from the ground. With a sweeping motion, he returned it to his back and fastened the clasp across his chest. “I have matters to attend to. There’s much to be done.”

Samantha cringed, watching the tah struggle to his feet. Of course, she got some of where he was coming from...don't let them see you weak. Stay strong, at least until they can't see you. That being said, if he stumbled, she just hoped the other two could manage to catch him in time. The thought made her antsy, both because she wished there was more she could do to help, but also because she kept inadvertently catching sight of his bloodied face and the empathetic, imagined pain would turn her stomach again...

There wasn't any ignoring the crack of bone that echoed through the chamber and Samantha stifled another sympathetic wince. Not another! It was going to be hard enough to get one injured tah out of here, but another with a broken leg? She watched on in sympathy and frustration as the fate of the other tah was declared. A prisoner...but at least it sounded like they would care for his injury... It was better than some alternatives that her imagination was concocting, based on what she'd seen of Shen's version of 'justice' so far. Still, the frustration at this entire situation was growing within her and she knew she needed to leave soon before she did something stupid.

Privately, she made a promise, to herself and the other tah she didn't know, that one day, they would return to free him. One day.

With a decisive snarl, Samantha whirled to keep the chamber in sight as the other two nans helped Ashur from the room. "I'll keep guard at the rear. Go on ahead; I'm right behind you," she confirmed quietly, eyes scanning for threats as they retreated. Yes, this was a retreat, but a strategic one. To act now would be foolish and only result in more losses. This wasn't cowardice; this was intelligence at work. That's what she told herself.

It helped reign in the fury for now.

As she was on alert for threats, a small movement at the edge of her vision drew her attention for a moment. She'd had only a brief sight of it, but...had that been a cub slipping out of the chamber? A child had been witness to these events? The poor thing...

Making a mental note to keep an eye out for the little one, Samantha kept following Ashur and the other nans until she was sure they'd be far enough not to be at risk from further hostile actions.

Having been momentarily distracted by the nan's grateful nod before she moved away, Liang had missed some of the ensuing battles. Shen had seemed to have little trouble with his skirmish with Ashur, and as such, Liang's attention had been pulled towards Smaug and Xavier instead. It had been an exciting clash to watch, taking notes of some of the strategies and maneuvers being used, but ultimately, it ended in the same favor as the other challenge.

He'd not seen in detail what had happened to Ashur, but he noted the nan's moving to escort him from the room, bloody evidence left where he'd fallen. He didn't know this other tah, not in the slightest. He would have felt worse about this, but...honestly, was it not their own faults? His and the other challenger? They wouldn't have been injured if they hadn't fought. And they wouldn't have fought if they had just accepted the way that things were clearly meant to go. It was their fault for challenging Shen, clearly.

The voices all around him were raised for the new leader and his promise of a new age, and Liang's own soon joined them. He could feel the energy of the room swelling, burning with excitement and enthusiasm, whispering of power and glory. There were good things to come in the future. Shen's words promised so, and Liang could feel the truth as surely as the stone beneath his paws. Yes, good things.

And so it seemed it was over, a shame she did somewhat hope there would be more violence. But she did have quite an appreciation for shen, he certainly could handle himself. Thyra was quite enjoying these turn of events she waver had abandoned her long ago, but now someone else had come to take his place. Such fun! Thyra gave Shen a bow before taking her leave there was work to be done, and she did have a blood bath just waiting.

As if given a pat on the back, Yahui began to purr. He had been pleased with her and the others! It was evident in the way he honored him with his words. Yet she didn't think her job was done....

He wanted them to spread the word. That was likely to cause an uproar and be easily returned with pure physical violence! No... there had to be another way. Another way in which she could prove her worth without being the one to draw blood... or have blood be drawn upon. There were other methods to deal with this. And she grinned softly to herself as she turned to face the fading crowd of the room.

She frowned softly as Asher and the others began to leave. Pity. He had courage and determination. As such would have proven useful to their side. Not to mention, after having his eyes ripped from his very being, he was still managing to walk out of there on his own paws. He was still pressing onward. That alone showed some form of strength. A strength she imagined they wouldn't see the last of. A small nagging in her stomach told her they had not seen the last of such displays any time soon.

Still, grinning as she had been, she sat near the dais, eyeing those that were dwindling behind. Silently she began judging them and mentally scoping them for possible friends and foes. Come tomorrow, she'd see just how many faces would still be around.

Ahavaniya gave the gentlest shrug she chould, helping someone in need doesn't seem like much reason for praise, but given everything just going on, maybe it was these days.

"It is the decent thing to do. What you did..." her heart hurt thinking about the way Shen wanted to rule, but she kept herself focused on the task of getting this one out of the danger zone.

"Come, we are almost there. You're doing great so far" She tried to remain optimistic about things, he should not go too long without proper care, but so far he was doing alright by her observations.

Tan kept circling, making sure there weren't any aggressors lingering too close.

Slowly but surely, they made progress.

She watched as Xavier was taken away to somewhere out of sight and her gaze turned towards Shen as he looked down upon those that remained, those that would be his worthy followers, or rather supporters. She wouldn't say she followed him, that sounded too constricted of a word. She would carry out his wishes though and support him by whatever means necessary. As his words washed over them she couldn't help but feel pride swell within her. Here was a Tah that knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to do what he needed to get it. Even if it meant striking down those that opposed him.

She flicked her tail behind her as she watched him don his cloak and take his leave from them. She took a look around at those that remained and made a mental note to seek some of them out later. They may prove to be valuable at some point to her. With that she gave a small smile to herself and removed herself from their presence. She had much to think on.
