By the time their second pile of rings was set down in front of them, Theo had already assessed the situation. They were in some kind of...money spending area. People spent money here for entertainment rather than out of necessity. "What is this called, Brenny?" he asked. "I've never been to one."
"Me either," Brenny admitted. "But it's called a carnival. It's really fun!" He offered Theo another five rings.

Theo couldn't remember the last time he'd spent any amount for fun. Probably never. Fun had an entirely different definition, when you had to steal food to survive. But then, the celebi was paying. "What other games are there?" he asked. "And what's a funnelcake?"
"There's a fish game I want to try next. No idea. I think it's a cake shaped like a funnel? But lots of people say they're good! Lets try it!" He tossed his last five rings and waited for Theo to do the same.
